AN: I've been seeing lots of fan art recently pairing our loveable cinnamon roll, Izuku Midoriya, with the pun-tastic dragon of Beacon, Yang Xiao Long. This particular ship got the gears in my mind a-whirling, and I came to a decision… I WANT TO DO IT! So, here is my attempt at a new My Hero Academia/RWBY crossover. Let's see how it goes…

Story Ship: Dragon-Fruit (Izuku Midoriya x Yang Xiao Long)

Sub-Pairings: TodoMomo, JokeZawa (more may be added later)

Disclaimer: I don't own My Hero Academia, RWBY, or Spyro!

A Mama Bear Finds a Dragon Hatchling

It was a dark and stormy evening in the Musutafu province of Japan. People had their umbrellas and raincoats out as they made their way home and, for the night owls in the crowd, to their intended destinations. But in the crowd, something was amiss. There was a little girl, who looked to be about three years old, crying her heart out as she stood out in the rain with nothing to keep her dry. She was cold, and she was soaked to the bone, and it looked like she was in the beginning stages of catching a bad cold. And yet in spite of her cries, nobody stopped to help her. They just kept walking along, ignoring the child and her cries of pain and attention.

The child has blonde hair that fell past her shoulders and was done up in twin pigtails with a single ahoge/cowlick on her head. Her eyes were a stunning lilac color, and she had pale skin. She was wearing an orange T-shirt, beige shorts, and a simple pair of ankle length socks and tennis shoes.

The little girl shut her eyes harder as she cried even more, her tears mixing with the rain as it poured down from the heavens. But even through her sadness, the little girl noticed that she was no longer being pelted by rain.

"Oh, so sad, huh? Where are your mom and dad?"

The little girl opened her eyes as she felt a soft cloth against her face, drying her tears and partially wiping the rainwater from her face. She looked up to see a green haired lady with green eyes holding an umbrella over them to keep them both dry from the rainfall. With the woman was a little boy about the girl's age. He had the same green hair and eyes as the lady, but his hair was a mane of spiky curls. He had pale skin with two sets of four freckles under each eye that form a diamond pattern. He was wearing an All Might T-shirt, a pair of blue shorts, and red sneakers. And honestly, the boy had this appearance that just made him look as adorable as a little puppy.

The woman looked at the child with nothing but concern in her eyes as she wondered who would be stupid enough, or cruel enough, to leave their child alone out in a thunderstorm like this. And as a mother herself, there's only one thing left for her to do in this situation!

Ten minutes later, the woman, Inko Midoriya, and her son, Izuku Midoriya, made it back home before the storm got any worse. But they weren't alone. Inko had brought the little girl home with them so that she could get her out of the storm, because she can't, in good conscience, leave a child out in the rain like so many other people were doing.

"Okay, first things first. A warm bath, then dry clothes…" Inko mumbled to herself.

She looked back and laughed as the little girl was clinging to her back like a koala joey, a determined look on the child's face. It didn't appear that she was going to release her grip anytime soon.

"Hey, we're not gonna run away. You don't have to hold on, you know." Inko assured the child.

With great reluctance, the little blonde climbed down from Inko's back and let go. She seemed really scared to do so, as if she and Izuku would just disappear if she had. Something that Inko noticed right away and made a mental note to look into later.

"Okay, good girl…"

She helped the little one remove her shoes and socks before carrying her into the living room and setting her down in a seat.

"Can you wait here for a moment? I'll call for you soon." Inko instructed.

She had her son follow her to the bathroom to help her get a bath ready for their guest, which the toddler agreed to. He was always willing to help anyone in need. When the two left the room, the little girl took some time to look around at the many framed photographs hanging from the walls. They showed Inko and Izuku throughout the years along with a tall man who she assumed was Inko's husband and the father of Izuku. She couldn't see his face in the pictures very well because of how the light was reflected off of the glass from the picture frames, however, so she didn't really know what he looked like.

She snapped out of her thoughts as she heard Inko calling her from the bathroom.

"Okay, you can come in now! The bath is ready!"

The little girl hopped down from her chair and ran to the bathroom as Izuku left the room to go to his room and play with some of his pro hero action figures. It took a little while for Inko to get her little guest to settle down and take her bath, as she would flinch and squirm whenever she attempted to wash the little one's hair. She seemed to be fiercely protective of it. But after twenty minutes of cleaning, and getting splashed in the process, Inko finally managed to get the child washed up.

They stood in Inko's room where the child was now dressed in a pair of green pajamas. Ones that belonged to Inko when she was a little girl.

"Well, that's that!" Inko said as she closed up the box of old clothes. "I'm so glad that I saved these old things."

"B-But my…" stuttered the little girl.

"Relax, sweetheart, I'm just washing them. They'll be ready to wear again soon." Inko assured as she picked up the child and carried her on her hip. "Come on, it's time to get some food in our bellies."

Dinner was a quiet affair, as it usually was in the Midoriya household, with the only sounds coming from their chopsticks. Though, the little girl didn't seem to know how to use them, so Inko gave her a fork and spoon to eat her food. Inko had prepared plenty of katsudon and white rice, and upon first seeing and smelling the food a loud growl erupted from the little girl's stomach which made her blush in embarrassment. To their credit, neither Inko nor Izuku teased her about it. They just sat down for dinner while Inko served them all generous portions.

"So, what's your name?" Inko asked her guest.

"I-I'm Yang…" replied the blonde.

"Yang, huh? That's a nice name." Inko commented. "So, what were you doing out in that storm all alone? Did you get separated from your parents?"

Yang looked down as she stopped eating. Her eyes began to flood with sadness as she remembered why she was out in that storm in the first place.

"I don't have parents anymore…" she said.

"What, no parents? Really?" Izuku asked, feeling very concerned for the blonde.

And he wasn't the only one.

"But surely you must have some family looking after you, don't you? An uncle, and aunt, grandparents maybe?" Inko asked frantically.

But Yang just looked down as her sadness began to grow.

"I was abandoned. For a while, my mommy and daddy and uncle Qrow loved me and took care of me, but then my baby sister, Ruby, was born and… all of a sudden, I don't matter to any of them anymore. I saw this picture of a lady who looked like me, but with black hair and red eyes, standing with mommy and daddy and my uncle in front of a cabin, and went to go see what was there… then there was this white light, and… I'm all alone now…" Yang explained as best she could.

Inko's gaze hardened at what she'd heard. How could Yang's family just forget about her like that just because they had another child? Were they trying to have a kid with a perfect quirk? Or was there something else at work here? And more importantly, who is this woman that Yang saw in that photo she mentioned? And what about that light?

So many questions, so little time.

"Momma, we can't just leave her all alone! We have to do something!" exclaimed Izuku. "We have to be the heroes that she needs!"

And Inko agreed with her son. Now, the logical thing to do in this situation would be to take Yang to an orphanage and put her into foster care, but something in her gut told her that doing so would be a bad idea and would yield disastrous consequences. And her gut feelings have never steered her wrong before. So why would they now?

Deciding to trust her gut, she made her choice.

"Well, if you really have no place to stay, then why don't you stay with us for a little while?" Inko offered.

"What? Really?" Yang asked with wide eyes. "Are you sure that's okay? I-I really don't want to trouble you-"

"Oh, you wouldn't be troubling us at all! To be honest, we'd be grateful." Inko said. "My husband is almost always away on business running his company in America, so it's usually just me and Izuku living alone in this apartment. Hisashi always makes time for us and sends us plenty of money so we're well-off enough, but it can get a little lonely with just the two of us here."

"Yeah! It'll be great having you here! Think of it like a sleepover, only you're staying with us for a really long time!" Izuku chimed in, excitement shining in his eyes. "We can play heroes and villains, watch pre-quirk movies, and I can show you my All Might collection! You'll be like part of the family!"

Yang just stared at the two like they had both just grown a second head. They've only known her for less than an hour and they're letting her live with them? Just like that? It was almost like a dream to the young blonde, as she thought it too good to be true.

"Look at that, Izu-Chan! She's practically part of the family already!" Inko said with a big smile.

Yang gave the green haired woman a questioning look, but it was Izuku who smiled and answered Yang's unasked question.

"Momma and I cry a lot."

Oh, so that's what it was. Yang hadn't even noticed that she'd started crying again.
