Chapter #2 – I'm a Ninja!...what? Not believable?

Hanko tapped on the Focus sitting on the side of his head and the User Interface popped up in front of him. He already had a map of Westeros saved to his Focus so he only tapped in the air once to bring it up and was scrolling through it. Elia didn't seem to notice this as she was still focused on her daughter.

"We are at the northernmost point of the Kingswood." Hanko offered to his audience of two as he continued to look at the map. "If we take a moment to -"

"Who are you?"

Hanko should have figured that's the first thing Elia would ask once they were out of immediate danger.

"I'm a ninja!" Hanko said with a quiet awe of inflection. He waited a few seconds taking in Elia's confused glance before sighing. "damn, that's right, you wouldn't get that reference."

"I don't think anyone would get your references" Shi offered within the mindscape

Hanko just marched through his disappointment. "My name is Hanko, and I can guess that you are at least someone important if your former clothes and the fact you were holed up in the Red Keep was any indication."

"Wait, so you don't know who I am?" Elia looked with incredulity at Hanko.

Of course Hanko could tell who she was, but he didn't want her to know that. "No, let's just say I'm completely new around here." He also didn't mention the pictures of Westeros maps he downloaded off his mindscape computer's internet. They at least told him he should be in the Kingswood.

"So you just decide to interfere in others' business; not knowing who is involved?"

Hanko gave her a dirty look "I saw something heinous happening, I chose to end it instead of allowing it to continue."

Elia re-appraised the man in front of her from her kneeling position next to her daughter. She ended her thoughts with a sigh. "I'm Elia Martell, now former crown princess of the seven kingdoms." She motioned towards her unconscious daughter being given a piggy-back ride by Hanko's clone. "The young one is my daughter Rhaenys." Then a gloomy expression shown on her face. "she was also sister to my son Aegon." Tears already started to show from her eyes as their situation finally seemed to crash into her after all the stress of the past few minutes.

At that moment, Hanko got the memories of the clone looking for immediate shelter in the Kingswood. "We are teleporting to some shelter to look at Rhaenys further." Elia appeared concerned now as she allowed Hanko to take her hand more readily this time.

The group of four re-appeared in a swishing sound in front of a smaller cave inside of a small cliffside. They immediately went inside just shy of the entrance and put Rhaenys down on top of a blanket Hanko spawned from his seal-storage.

"What are you going to do now?" Elia asked, still unsure as to what all Hanko could do.

"I have some mystical arts that can allow me to assess the damage and heal her up a bit. It is nothing invasive and will only cause minor discomfort." Hanko informed her truthfully. Some would think mystic palm shouldn't hurt at all, but it is a mixture of the healer's chakra being used to accelerate the body's natural healing factor. This means that the patient will still feel slight drain from having their body 'overreact'.

His hands glowed green as the mystic palm jutsu activated and his hands hovered, going across Rhaenys's head first before going over the cuts and bruises she received from being thrown by the Mountain.

The cuts and bruises started healing easily enough. The problem came with the delicate work he needed to do over her head. He could tell that Rhaenys suffered from a concussion. He told Elia as such as he put his hands back over Rhaenys' head.

"But she will be okay right?"

Hanko gave a slight shrug, keeping in mind the placement of his hands. "It could be nothing, or it could cause her to act differently than what she was before. Of course the trauma alone of what happened could have her acting different than what you remember. I can't really say. When it comes to head trama, things are always unknown."

Elia could only continue showing concern as he slowly worked over Rhaenys's head for the next few minutes. Eventually he finished up and sat back against the cave entrance wall.

"So Hanko … you are a … ninja?" Elia put forth.

"Yes, I know it's very hard to believe when I just healed someone." Hanko sagely input. "As a ninja, it's understandable that when you know how to kill in over-the-top ways with chakra, you would also try to find some way to heal allies."

"Chakra?"

Hanko didn't think about it too long. "Chakra is similar to magic power or a source of energy that is within the user composed of their physical and mental energies. These energies can be manipulated by the user depending upon both shaping chakra and intent."

Elia looked like she wanted to know more, but Hanko decided to change the subject.

"So … when I was in the Red Keep, I noticed the city was being sacked by what looked like an army wearing yellow and red armor. Some kind of banner was flying that had a lion on it."

Elia nodded. "Sounds like the army of house Lannister, Paramount of the West."

"If there is a Paramount of the West, I'm guessing there are Paramounts of the other directions as well."

"You would be right, for the seven kingdoms…"

The discussion continued where Hanko tried to get Elia to tell him more about the seven kingdoms so he could stop faking his ignorance on where he was at. This included the kingdoms to the south, and Dorne and the fact that her family were considered royalty in their own right as they originally did not bow to the Targaryen dragons.

"Well that settles it, we will need to get you back to your family soon."

"What do you mean soon, we aren't going to make our way there immediately?" Elia petitioned. She was still worried about the health of her daughter, and getting her to a trusted local maester sounded like a more immediate concern to work towards.

"No, I was informed of something else right before I rescued you." Hanko offered, still trying to play into his fake ignorance for a little bit longer. "Before I found you, I overheard something about a host made of some kingsguard being given directions to hold up at 'The Tower of Joy'."

Elia seemed confused but thoughtful. "Why would Kingsguard go to the Tower of Joy instead of staying with their King and Prince…"

"Maybe something is happening with the Royal line?" Hanko hinted. He of course knew the events of Lyanna Stark giving birth to her own Aegon Targaryen, who would be listed as a bastard under Ned Stark. Saying it outright however would give more away that he knows things he shouldn't.

Elia's eyes went wide. "Lyanna Stark," she breathed out.

Hanko noticed that she didn't seem mad at the young woman in question. He knew that Rhaegar basically cheated on her with Lyanna. Maybe she didn't know that Rhaegar divorced her by law yet. He was pleasantly surprised though that Elia wasn't going full blown 'House Wives' in rage against Lyanna. "Lyanna Stark? Didn't you tell me about a northern house with that name."

"Yes, she is part of House Stark. Seeing as her father and brother were - I mean died recently, she is the sister to the current Lord Paramount of the North." Her expression became crestfallen. "She and the crown prince, my late husband, had an affair." Elia looked down on her daughter as she watched Hanko work while also thinking about the circumstances. "I know most would expect me to be angry at the two of them. Ironically I cannot place the blame fully on her. Lyanna is very young, and Rhaegar can be quite charming when he wants to be. He really charmed her too, all in the name of prophecy."

Hanko knew what the prophecy was, but couldn't ask further as Rhaenys woke up from her blanket.

"Mommy?" came the weak gasp.

"Oh my sun and stars, I'm right here." Elia moved closer and above Rhaenys so Rhaenys didn't have to move much to try to see her.

"What … happen?" Rhaenys forced out. Her childish pronunciation showed.

"Do you not remember what happened?" Rhaenys shook her head slowly.

Elia looked to Hanko, but he only nodded with a thumbs up, signifying it was for the best that she didn't remember anyway. "We can rest a couple minutes, but we should try to move out soon."

Rhaenys slowly sat up and looked at the new voice in the room with a curious smile. "Mommy, who this?"

Elia explained "This is Hanko, he is … a sorcerer that is helping us get back home."

"You know you could just tell her I'm a ninja. I'm not hiding that much anyway."

"I didn't know you were hiding anything," Elia bemused.

Hanko turned back to Rhaenys, "Hi Rhaenys!" he said while waving hand exaggeratedly back and forth.

"...Hi?"

"That's just one way we greet people back where I'm from."

Rhaenys seemed to ponder that -

"Can you let me out for a bit?"

Hanko sent her a quick confirmation by thought and got up from his sitting position.

"You want to see something cool, Rhaenys?"

"...cool?"

"It's a way - nevermind, it would take a bit to explain." Hanko made his way out to the open area in front of the cave. Facing the group at the mouth of the cave, he made a chakra scalpel and started drawing a design on the back of his opposite hand. The design was of a triangle with a line through it, and a circle that touched all three sides of the triangle. Once done with the design, he started going through hand signs. He was purposely going slow enough to give them a view; he was moving his hands into different signs, but fast enough to still be able to shape the chakra so the jutsu wouldn't unravel."

After more than 100 hand-signs, he put his bleeding hand to the ground; the same design on the back of his hand now stretched to appear on the ground with smaller fuinjutsu symbols making up the larger lines. He grinned cheekily as he noted the awed faces of both of his charges. With the seal now on the ground, Hanko stepped back. Using a one-handed Tiger seal, he activated the Seal

Secret Art: Shinigami Summoning

With a puff of steam, the jutsu was marked completed.

From the steam was a figure just a few inches shorter than Hanko with red hair tied back into intricate braids. Her bangs were brushed to the sides of her face and behind her ears which showed the medium perky nose and slight splash of freckles spanning along the upper cheeks. And nose dorsum. The curve of the nose drawing anyone's attention to her bright eyes showing an unnaturally red iris. Her long legs showed muscular in a marathon athlete sort of way as the rest of her body.

They both walked back to the cave entrance and the newly arrived female introduced herself to Elia and Rhaenys. "Hi there, my name is Shi, it's nice to meet you both."

Rhaenys, already up on her feet to watch Hanko's jutsu, hobbled towards Shi to glomp her while giggling. Elia couldn't stop her in time.

"Are you similar to him?" Elia pointed at the clone still next to her.

"No, I'm not a shadow clone." Shi answered. "Let's just say I'm different."

"Now that I think about it, you almost look like my sister with the same color, and braided hair," Hanko remarked.

Shi just smirked. "Anyway," Shi turned to Elia, "I don't know if you would have a problem with it, but we really need to travel to the Tower of Joy first."

"Who are you to tell us what we need to do?" Elia inquired, looking wronged.

"Lets just say, I have 'green-sight' like the First-Men" Shi lied to make her reasoning more believable. "I know of some things that are to happen, and Lyanna Stark's child is very important for the events to come."

"What do you mean...what is going to happen?" Elia expressed confusion.

"I will tell everyone later, right now it is best if we make haste." Shi turned to Hanko. "I think we need to summon some Stormbirds as mounts to get to the tower fastest."

Now Hanko was interested. Stormbirds were the biggest flying machine he had acquired from their previous universe of Horizon: Zero Dawn. They had at one point been used to affect weather patterns in that 'verse to help make it rain among other things. They did it using the built in lightning-dispensing chassis they have on their underbelly.

"They are kinda 'gaudy' and noticeable."

"If they are high enough in the air, does it matter? These people already think dragons are legends, metal birds won't really be much different."

"Wait, metal birds?" Elia chimed in this time.

Hanko just sighed and started making his way out to the clearing again. With a puff of steam, a large scroll appeared in his hands, before he unrolled a part of it and found the entry he wanted. One hand on the scroll, the other hand in a half-Tiger seal

Weapon Summoning!

- Elia's POV -

I've seen Hanko, as he says his name is, perform many different … spells that allowed him to do many things so far. He has made copies of himself, transformed into multiple different visages, teleported, and even healed Rhaenys; and finally summoning someone that looked like a female version of him. The figure, named Shi, explained that she wasn't an elaborate clone, but something different. It's not like I would understand how different she is anyway. I don't understand anything he has done at all, and we were in such a rush so it didn't seem prudent to ask.

Now after talking to Hanko about summoning some 'metal birds', Hanko went back out of the cave and another large scroll suddenly appeared in his hands. I know I visibly cringed as it reminded me about Gregor Clegane being inside one of those large scrolls. My thoughts turned somber as I realized my son, my little boy, also had his body stored in that same scroll. I didn't know if it was the same large scroll Hanko was using now, but I doubted it.

With my thoughts away from the current events, I was brought into the present when I noticed a large cloud of steam appear suddenly. Just as quickly the steam left, leaving an astonishing sight. Towering as tall as the trees and much wider than their trunks stood a large metallic hawk-like bird. Normally I would say it is some kind of gaudy, expensive statue to commemorate some god or other. Instead the more surprising thing was this metal behemoth was actually moving, and similarly like a bird no less with quick head movements and a few odd-sounding low-volume metallic screeches. The metal hawk turned to look at me and I couldn't help but hold my breath.

"Don't worry, I have the Stormbird under control," Hanko pointed out. I noticed him on the back of the now named 'Stormbird', somehow still staying on its back while the Stormbird was sitting upright. It didn't seem to matter though as the Stormbird leaned forward so it was parallel to the ground.

"Ok," Hanko jumped off and came towards them with a smile, "It's time to mount up and get out of here."

- 3rd Person view -

It took them a bit to mount up on the Stormbird due to Elia's fears, however they eventually got on and the Stormbird took off. It was a tight squeeze for four people on the back of it, but Hanko and Shi used the 'close quarters' to keep a better hold of Elia and Rhaenys between themselves. Elia was screaming in fear as it rose while Rhaenys was giggling in excitement.

With the Stormbird trying to gain altitude through powerful wing-strides, it caused them to oscillate deeply up and down, which had Elia frightened at first. After the Stormbird levelled out, and assuring Elia multiple times that they both had a hold on the Westerosi and wouldn't fall off, Elia finally managed to stop screaming and looked around their flight in wonder. She could only imagine that the dragonriders of old also must have felt the same. Seeing the objects on the ground so far beneath her now, she could understand how lofty the Targaryens might have felt. How much of that could have attributed to their hubris, that she could not say.

It was a beautiful sight. As the Kingswood quickly went behind and beneath them, they started watching the beautiful trees and plains pass by below.
