Chapter 2- Early Days
Two months had passed since Hogwarts began and Harry had seemingly adjusted to his life. Although a lot of people stared at him, it was not as extensive as before. That matter was mostly relieving for Harry. He and Felicia had bonded together a lot. She was cold and aloof for a lot of them though a few of them were exempt from it.
He had met Damian Greengrass the third day in Hogwarts. Their first meet was eventful.
FLASHBACK
Harry and Felicia sat for dinner, once again. They ignored the other stares and sneeres that were sent their way. For Harry, it was nothing new. He had come to ignore all this stuff, from a young age.
Felicia, although was slightly unnerved by the threatening stares of her classmates, she held herself and put on a disinterested facade.
A gentle cough pulled their attention to a brown haired handsome young man. He was eying the two of them with amusement.
" Should I be jealous?" He asked the girl sitting next to Harry. Felicia chuckled softly as the boy leaned in and kissed her on his cheek. Harry raised his eyebrow at the emotions on display.
Felicia went a little pink on her face but managed to get herself under control.
" Harris, meet Damian Greengrass. My betrothed." She dropped a bomb and Harry choked on his food. He stared at the two of them dumbly who seemed to be very much amused by his reaction.
He then glared at the girl.
" And you didn't see fit to tell me this?" He asked. The girl smirked at Harry.
" Well, we can't give away all our secrets right after we meet, can we Mr Evanson?" She said coyly.
Harry blinked at that comeback and he had to give it to her. " Fair enough." He shrugged. He then turned to the grinning boy. " Assuming that you haven't screamed mudblood and bloody murder at me, you are not like most of your house?" The boy chuckled.
" You could say that. I have no problem with muggles and muggle borns as long as they stick to the culture of the wizarding world and not go on a rampage and criticize everything as barbaric and prehistoric." He said.
Harry grimaced inwardly. His memories of Hermione making its way to the forefront of his mind. He hummed an agreement as he went back to his food. He sat up in realization. He was speaking to the parents of Daphne and Astoria Greengrass.
" A sixth year?" He asked the boy who nodded. " Don't misunderstand me, but how did this come up?" He asked.
Felicia smiled fondly at Damian.
"Well, it seems that ickle Damy had a crush on me since his first year. He would always get flustered around me and would mumble and squeak with his face as red as a ripe tomato." She said laughing as Damian turned red once again.
" He waited till his third year to work up the courage and ask me out. You should have seen his face on that day. You would be laughing so hard and rolling all over the floor." She said as Harry smirked.
" I took pity on the poor boy. I did agree to go to Hogsmeade but I seriously didn't think that he was looking for something more serious between us. One date led to another and another and another. When our parents heard of this, they were happy. Prestigious families and purebloods. What more can my dad want to sell me off?" She sneered in the memory of her father. Damian took her hand in his, giving it a gentle squeeze in the process.
" Damian's father was a happy man for seperate reasons. He was happy for the two of us. Happy that we were following our hearts. Though he didn't want it, he had to agree with my father to place a betrothal contract. " She explained.
" Frankly, I couldn't be more happy. I didn't think that we would go so far, but now, I couldn't ask for anyone better." She said softly, smiling at Damian.
Harry smiled at the two of them. He now understood where Daphne got it from. She can be cold as hell and suddenly could be the polar opposite of it. Although nobody knew of his friendship with her, she was the rock in his fourth year who helped him a lot. And by lot, he meant a lot.
Seeing the two people in front of him, he smiled fondly at the memories they brought of his friend.
FLASHBACK ENDS
Harry chuckled as he remembered the day that he had met Damian. His two friends frowned at him but he waved them off. "Nothing. Don't worry about it." He said as he got back to his food. He looked around the hall. His eyes fell on Albus Dumbledore. He swallowed a wave of fury that threatened to hit him. He had come across the man once when he was leaving the Library very late. It hadn't gone down very well.
FLASHBACK
Harry exited the library. He might have a treasure of knowledge in his place, but he knew that Hogwarts library had a few interesting books as well. He wouldn't have bothered to go to the library if not.
He bumped into someone who was arriving in the opposite direction. " Sorry." He muttered as he went to pick his books up.
" That's fine, young man." Harry froze. He swallowed a bubble of anger that roared to be released. He had finally come face to face with Albus Dumbledore. He looked into the eyes of the old man and saw the tell tale gleam of manipulation in there. All the suffering he had at Hogwarts bombarded him. He wanted to curse the twinkle right of the man's face, but he held on.
" Headmaster." He nodded neutrally.
" Ahh, Mr Evanson. It's wonderful to be able to finally talk to you. Day in and day out, the professors have been singing your praises. Frankly speaking, I had been wanting to meet you." He said, his eyes twinkling merrily.
" Thank you, sir." Harry said without emotion. He avoided looking into the man's eyes. Not for the fear of legilimency. No. He feared that he would strangle the man if he continued to stare at him.
" I hope everything is alright in Slytherin. I know that people there are a bit too hard on muggle-borns." He said.
" Nah. I will be fine. Yes they do threaten me every now and then, but I can manage." Harry said with a shrug. The man continued to smile.
" I certainly hope so. Do come to me if you need anything, Harris." Dumbledore continued in his grandfatherly voice. He chanced a look into his eyes and employed passive legilimency. He was surprised when he met powerful shields that shouldn't be possible with muggle born students. He was thrown out of the boy's mind with such force that he stumbled in his place.
The boy didn't seem angry. He was worried. " Are you alright, Headmaster?" He asked.
Dumbledore nodded. " I am fine, Harris. Just old age catching up with me. He said, a calculating look on his face that Harry had by now understood with heart.
' The boy seemingly doesn't know what he has done. Maybe he has natural shields. He is surely one to watch out for.' Dumbledore thought internally.
" It's getting late, Harris. You might want to get back to sleep rather than talk with an old man." He said out loud. The young man nodded and left with a cheerful goodbye.
Dumbledore watched the boy leave, scheming things in his head. He will surely watch the boy closely.
FLASHBACK ENDS
Felicia and Damian were speaking something in hushed tones. Harry turned back to his food but he felt something off with his drink. He frowned thoughtfully as he sniffed the drink but he knew something was wrong with it. He observed from his peripheral vision that Bellatrix was staring at him with a small sneer on her face.
Harry had to admit that this girl was far cry from the woman she had become. Yes, she was still a discriminating pureblood, but she was at a bearable level. Not only that, but this Bellatrix was smoking hot. Harry felt sick whenever he thought of the girl in that way, but he could certainly not refute the point that she was very beautiful. She would go on to become even more beautiful as she ages.
'Azkaban certainly did a number on her.' He had thought. Her pale skin usually shines with radiance. Her aristocratic face and full lips combined with her striking violet eyes was enough to have men fall over themselves to impress her. The sneer on her face certainly was not good for her face, but he won't be telling that.
" Guys." He called out to Damian and Felicia. " Don't drink it." He said as he saw that the two were about to take a drink.
" What's wrong?" Damian asked with a frown. Harry put a finger to his lips and pointed to the others around him. A shout was heard from near them and Harry started to laugh as he came upon the sight. The hairs of the Slytherins had turned bright red along with the words 'I love Gryffindors' etched in their faces. The hall burst into peals of laughter.
Harry looked in the direction of the troublemakers responsible for this prank.
His eyes fell upon a laughing James Potter and Sirius Black.
FLASHBACK
Harry and Felicia were walking back from their class when they saw a group of students huddled up in a circle and whispering something excitedly. Felicia being the head girl interrupted their conversation.
" What are you boys doing here?" She asked all of a sudden, startling the boys who yelped in surprise. Harry's chuckle upon their reaction died when he saw who the boys were. Harry was standing face to face with the Marauders. Now he knew why most of them said he was just like his father. The two were the spitting image of each other. The younger him to be precise. As he grew up, his face started to display the Black facial features along with his Potter ones. The reason why he was able to fix his hair to a straight and long look, though it still retained the Potter mess.
His father had hazel eyes that danced with mischief. Long and angular face that the Potters were famous for and the Black cheekbones almost similar to him. He now knew why most of them said that his father was extremely handsome. He was already taller than Harry was at that age and there was the grace of a pureblood that he lacked when he had started at Hogwarts.
The next was Sirius Black. It was refreshing to see his godfather happy and healthy, contrary to the man that he had seen who had his best years taken away because of a crime he didn't commit.
Remus Lupin was as pale as he had been. Harry would not say it but he felt sad for the life he had been through. Losing his good friends. Being betrayed by his best friend. A cursed life to top it off. Harry had never said it out loud, but he would always feel sad for Remus.
The last boy had Harry wanting to strangle him. Peter Pettigrew. His face was not rodent-like, now. It was probably because of his animagus form. He took a deep breath to calm down. He would keep an eye on this boy.
" What are you planning, James?" Felicia asked with a frown as she saw the mischievous expression of his.
James Potter grinned cheekily. " I don't know what you are talking about?" He answered. The girl glared at Sirius and James. " We are not doing anything." Sirius denied but even a blind person could say that he was lying.
" You better hope that you are not, Black. I will inform Lord Black of what you are getting into." She said, smirking as the boy paled considerably. She then rounded on James. " And you. Lady Potter has asked me to write the moment you get into trouble. I might just go and do that." She said. Harry had to hold back a laugh as he saw James balk in fear at those words.
" Now, now, Felicia. Let's not make hasty decisions. I am sure that Mr Potter and Black here won't repeat the mistake again. Ain't I right, boys?" He asked as he winked at the four boys. The boys smiled cheekily before nodding.
Harry informed Felicia to go ahead. He bent down on his knees. " Ok guys. Spill." He said as he stared at the four boys. The four boys fidgeted uncomfortably . The piercing state of Harry unnerving them.
" Uhmm...we were finding the way to the kitchens. '' Peter answered.
" We wanted to ask the elves to help us in pranking the Slytherins. We wanted to spike their drinks and prank snivellus, especially." James spoke.
Harry hummed. " Ok. But why only the students and those in Slytherins? Aren't there any other students?" He asked and the boys flushed when they heard him say it. " Are you so biased against Slytherin? What caused that?" He asked them.
The boys looked at one another and it was James that answered. " We hear many things in our homes, Harris. Dad and Mum are extremely worried. There has been a rise of this new Dark Lord. ' He who must not be named.' they call him. Dad isn't worried about him. He fought against Grindelwald and was almost killing him before he was cursed in the back. Sometimes, I am more in awe of my father than Dumbledore." He explained with pride his father's abilities.
Harry smiled. Of course his grandfather was more powerful than Dumbledore. Charlus Potter was extremely feared in the wizarding world.
" Uncle Arcturus informed Dad that some people who claim to be the allies of this Dark Lord are trying to gather more support from the pureblood families. Many have fallen for his charms and a few families that have opposed him have ended up dead." James explained.
" My grandfather is not so enthusiastic about this position. He won't side with the dark lord. He says that the other dark families see his position as very vulnerable. His two sons are shits. They have no spine and they don't have the nerve to oppose the new uprising. And don't get me started on my mother." He spat the words.
Harry was not surprised. He knew that Sirius hated his mother. He had made it clear many times.
" Between her and my uncle and Father, I don't think that our family will flourish much. My grandfather says that he will get us through this process. I don't know what he can do." He said.
" They say that the Slytherin house is the recruiting grounds for the Dark Lord's followers. We have come across them doing unforgiving things to many of our classmates. That Lestrange boy, he is the worst. He is a pervert. Not only that, I have personally seen him use the cruciatus curse many times. I have complained by using anonymous letters many times but nobody has done anything." Remus complained.
" I don't like the way he looks at Bellatrix. It's creepy. But the foolish bint doesn't even understand it. She thinks that he is a good man." Sirius snorted. " If I could curse that shit, I would do so happily." He said.
Harry hummed in agreement. " Don't worry about those things. The elders will see to that. Give me some time, Slytherins will not know what hit them when I am ready. " He said, his green eyes blazing that had Peter flinching and whimpering in fear.
He then softened. " In the meantime, I want you to continue to be like a kid. But be careful. I want you to prank everyone. Not just Slytherins. I had heard that your mother, Lady Potter, is a Slytherin, James." He asked the boy who nodded.
" Target everyone. But make sure that your pranks don't hurt the feelings of anyone. If that happens, you will come off as bullies. You don't want that, do you?" He asked the boys who shook their heads in answer.
Harry smiled. " Good. Now, I have a present for you. A small something, from one prankster to another." He said as he brought out a parchment and placed it in James's hand. The boys opened the parchment and stared at the empty parchment.
" Uhm... thank you?" James said with confusion. Harry chuckled.
" Place your wands on the map and say' I solemnly swear that I am upto no good.' " Harry said.
James repeated the words and gasped in shock and surprise.
" What the hell!!!?" He screamed in surprise. Harry watched in amusement as the boys stared at the parchment with wide eyes and wonder. James turned his wide eyes to Harry.
" Wow. " He said. Harry nodded. " Wow indeed." He said. " I replicated this map from my father's work, who had created one with his friends. " He explained.
" Your father must be a brilliant man." Remus said, still in awe of the parchment.
Harry nodded. His eyes teared slightly.
" Yes. Yes he was." Harry said. " When you are done, tap it with your wand and say, ' mischief managed.'" he said and the map disappeared and became blank.
" Use it well." Harry said. James nodded eagerly, eying the parchment with reverence. He suddenly frowned as he remembered something.
" You do realize that you look a bit like me, right?" He asked. Harry stiffened.
He was about to answer when James shrugged. " Meh." He said. The possibilities the map gave distracted James from the line of questioning.
" But, what do you get from this? Why help us prank others and in return you as well?" He asked. Harry chuckled.
" We all need our laughs. I personally like pranks a lot. So I would like someone to continue with it. The castle needs a few laughs." He explained. He then smirked.
" And for the second question, prank me first and then come and ask the same question."
The group stared at Harry and then grinned. " You are on, Evanson." Sirius said as Harry took his leave.
FLASHBACK ENDS
The group had tried a lot. And by lot, he meant a lot. But Harry always knows. He would successfully evade them and had caused a lot of frustration to the group. But the group would always try again. Since that day, the boys had pranked a lot of students. It was so funny that it was almost anticipated around the castle. Nobody could point out the group. They were getting very much acquainted with the castle with the map.
Harry had planned to give the Marauders map to the group but not the original. He created another one and made sure to keep the original. It held a special place in Harry's heart. His dad's memory. Harry always carried his cloak and map with him. Everytime. The cloak would have been a trouble, if not for the fact that the cloak could be shrunk. It was impossible to shrink an invisible cloak but this one was a family heirloom. Designed for his blood. So, he had privileges that the others who used invisible cloaks didn't. Absolute control over the cloak.
As he continued to laugh, he caught the attention of the hall. " Why are you not affected?" Asked Bellatrix. Harry let his eyes fall on the girl. " I knew a prank was being played. I didn't drink it." He shrugged. " Why didn't you stop us?" Warrington growled. The entire Slytherin table glared at Harry. Many were sporting murderous expression.
Harry stood up with a small smirk on his face. " I am a mudblood, Warrington." He said with imaginary quotes. " I don't think you all will listen to a mudblood's words." He said and turned and walked out of the Great Hall.
The hall was silent for sometime before somebody snorted. That caused the hall to go crazy with laughter. The Slytherins were embarrassed. They couldn't do much so remained quiet.
&&&--
Harry sat by himself in the common room. He still felt like laughing at the others' plight, but he calmed himself down.
He was engrossed in a book when the common room opened up and the other students came in.
The older year boys were seething with anger. It was Warrington who spoke again.
" What the fuck were you thinking?" He growled. Harry raised a single eyebrow. "And can you elaborate on that?" He asked. " You Fucking mudblood. You dare disrespect me?" He asked as he stepped towards Harry. Harry stood up. He was at least five inches taller than the boy.
" I didn't do anything, Warrington. I thought that you guys won't listen to me. You have made yourself clear what you think of me." He indicated.
Warrington was now seething. How dare this jumped up mudblood even stand and talk in front of him.
" You filthy mudblood!!" He roared as he drew his wand to curse Harry.
Harry calmly avoided his wand and captured his arm and kicked him on his shin. The boy fell to his knees due to the impact. Harry twisted the boy's arm and he held the boy's wand arm under the boy's chin.
The rest of the common room stared wide eyed at Harry's action.
Warrington struggled under Harry's grip.
" No go on, Warrington. You were about to say something." Harry said as the boy struggled in his grip. The boy was struggling with pain.
The Slytherins refused to move. Nobody wanted to involve themselves. For them, Harris Evanson was an unknown.
" I warn you, Warrington. Just because I take all the insults you throw at me, doesn't mean that I am not capable of taking care of myself. Trust me, if you ever get on the wrong side of me, I will kill you. Slowly and painfully." Harry emphasized each word as he twisted the boy's arm more painfully.
The boy screamed to the roofs of the dungeons. Harry let go of him and the boy fell down, whimpering badly. He knelt down next to the boy and flicked his wand upwards and healed his wrist.
" Just because I am quiet, doesn't mean that you guys can run over me. It means that I respect others' boundaries and I am not interested in bringing up a conflict." He said.
" Do you understand, Warrington?" He asked the boy. The boy nodded, his body still trembling with fear. Harry smiled.
" See. Wands are not the answers for every problem. Words can be used too." He said as he left to his dorm.
&&&--
Bellatrix Black stared at the scene that took place in the common room from a corner with her sisters. There was something about Harris Evanson. She tried so hard to place it but she couldn't. There was something he was hiding, of which she had no doubts.
He was calm. Extremely so. She didn't know how he was surviving here. The other purebloods have been making life very difficult for him. They insult him. His birth. His parents. But nothing. There was no reaction. Many might have missed it but she was not many. She would catch the anger in the boy's eyes but it would have gone as quickly as it came.
One thing was fairly certain. The boy was extremely well versed in the mind arts. She would know it. She had practiced them for a long time.
She wondered what other secrets the boy might be hiding. He was very intelligent. Her cousin would always point out how effortless magic comes to him. He brings heaps of points to the house. He is easygoing and fun to be around according to Felicia.
Now, she saw another face of the mystery, that of Harris Evanson. He could fight. She didn't know about his dueling abilities, but he does know hand to hand combat. And he is fearless. She saw no fear while addressing Warrington. Even her, for all her abilities in dueling and her family name wouldn't make an enemy of the seventh year purebloods. They were not the best of people to mess with.
' What are you playing at, Evanson?' she thought.
Contrary to popular belief, she didn't outright hate muggles. But she didn't support them too much either. It was not a facade per say. Most of the mudbloods that come to Hogwarts believe that everything is ancient here. They would ask for change in their traditions and culture and customs. That was unforgivable.
Added to the fact that she was from a powerful family. As old as they come, she had the right to be a bit arrogant. That was how she was brought up.
According to her, her Grandfather was a true Black. His sons were gits. Yes. Her father was a weak man. Not someone who could call themselves a Black. She didn't mean that he was weak with a wand, no. Her father was an extremely good wizard. But he didn't have the spine to stand up at the needed time. Her uncle Orion was Walburga's yes man. He would nod his head to shit the woman would say. How he fell in love with a woman like her, she never knew.
Being the eldest of the new Blacks, she was required to be the best and she had kept her reputation. She was extremely beautiful. She revelled in the fact that she was the object of many boys' dreams.
But nobody had caught her eye. No one was worthy of Bellatrix Black.
Harris Evanson was one such wizard who caught her attention, but he was a mudblood. Would her family even approve of them? She groaned out loud, catching the attention of her sisters. ' Why should your love life be so poor, Bellatrix?' she chastised herself mentally.
" What's wrong, Bella?" Asked Andi. She shook her head. " Nothing. Just thinking about something." She said and got upto to leave to her room. The mysterious green eyed wizard troubling her thoughts.
&&&--
" I don't know what to write anymore, Bella." Andromeda groaned as she hit her head on the table. Bellatrix had come to the Great Hall for dinner and saw that her sister was furiously writing her Defense Essay. She smiled. Andromeda and Narcissa meant the world to her. They were a tightly knit group of friends along with being sisters. Bella was ecstatic when Narcissa was born. She was unlike little Andi and herself. She had golden hair and blue eyes due to her mother. The rest of the Blacks resembled the Black family traits, but Narcissa carried the Rosier traits.
Bella was too little to understand about the birth of Andromeda. Since the two had literally no age difference, they did everything together. They were a duo until little Cissy came into their lives. From the moment she was born, she had the entire family wrapped around her little finger, but none more so than Bella and her grandfather.
Bellatrix would go through hell to make sure that her sisters were safe.
She sat down on the table and asked Andromeda as to what she was writing.
" I have to write an essay on battling dark creatures. I don't know what to write. I thought about the Patronus charm, but it is very difficult." She ground out. Bellatrix frowned. For all her abilities, the patronus charm was something difficult for her. She could get a mist to form, but nothing more.
" I can teach you about it. But I too can't cast it. It's very difficult." She said. Andromeda nodded.
" Well, a patronus is used to protect oneself from Dementors and lethifolds." She explained as Andromeda listened to her explanations.
" They are used to keep the soul sucking monsters at bay." She explained.
The two were joined by Damian and Felicia who sat next to the two.
" Hey. What are you two doing?" She asked her cousin. " Helping this one with her assignment." Bellatrix shrugged.
" The Patronus is a manifestation of your positive memory. A memory that is positive should be used. A memory which gives happiness." She explained. " It then takes the form of an animal based on your character and protects you from those beasts."
" But, they are very difficult to learn and only a handful of people are capable of producing them. It needs a lot of concentration and Magical power to cast the spell." She continued. " Probably is the only way to defend against a Dementor." She explained.
Andromeda was about to write it down when another voice spoke.
" You might want to write it down properly, Ms Black." Harry spoke out of nowhere surprising the group.
Andromeda frowned as Bellatrix glared at him. " What do you mean?" The girl asked.
" A Patronus, contrary to popular belief, doesn't need a happy memory to cast. No. A Patronus is the strongest manifestation of your emotions. The emotion behind your patronus must be strong and powerful. It must be overwhelmingly powerful. The emotion must mean the world to you. It should touch every single fiber in your body. The very emotion must be so powerful that it should bring tears to your eyes." He explained.
" Your sister was right. It is your emotion that shows on your patronus. And she was right in saying that it is an extremely difficult spell to master. But where she was wrong was that only a handful of them are able to cast it. No. I can bet a million galleons right now that you can cast it within mere minutes." He said to the surprise of the others.
Bellatrix snorted. Harry turned to her.
" Do you have something to say, Ms Black?" He asked.
" It's very easy to speak, Evanson. But can you put your galleons where your mouth is?" She questioned with a smirk. " I will make a bet." She said and the Great Hall was now intrigued. Even the professors were seeing as to where this would go.
" I will kiss you in the Great Hall every day for the rest of the year if you can cast it." She said causing many to balk at her words and many Slytherin seventh years to stare at her with open mouths. " But if you lose, you must kiss my feet every single day in front of the Great Hall." She said with a superior smirk.
Harry smirked. 'Time to break your arrogance, dear Bellatrix.' he said.
"There is a saying, Ms Black. I had heard it from an elder some time back. Don't count your chickens before they are hatched." He said with a smile and he held his hand up in the air and closed his wrist as a wand materialized out of nowhere. There were a few mutterings for that.
" Just because, you think that I am a mudblood, doesn't mean that I can't do anything." He said and with a flick of his wand and a soft 'Expecto Patronum' later, a brilliant silver light left his wand and a majestic stag stood next to Harry a few seconds later. Harry smiled as Prongs stood next to him. His father's animagus form. His guardian. He could feel the emotions oozing from Prongs.
Prongs nuzzled his head against Harry's hand. That was one of the speciality of Harry's patronus. It was almost solid like. His patronus was always stronger than the rest and bigger and brighter. Harry had studied a lot about this and was very proud of himself that he was able to hold off a hundred Dementors to save his godfather.
Prongs walked upto Andromeda and said, " The Patronus, Ms Black is also used to send messages." It spoke in Harry's voice. The wide eyed girl just nodded not even trying to breath in front of the ethereal creature. Harry observed various amount of shock and awe on the faces in the Great Hall.
His eyes fell on Bellatrix who was frozen in shock. Harry slowly walked up to her amidst the great hall that was waiting with anticipation.
Harry stood in front of the girl who was now looking at him with a hint of fear and lot of worry. But there was something else there. Something he couldn't place. He leaned forward. The two were now just a hairs breath away from each other. Harry could feel the quick breath of the girl in front of him. He pulled back a little so that he could look into her eyes.
" Just because you wanted to humiliate me, doesn't mean that I want to do the same, Ms Black. I might be a hell of a lot of things, but taking advantage of a woman in distress or trouble is not one of them. I wouldn't do it even to my sworn enemy if there is one." He said to the surprise of the girl and the Great Hall.
" Call it my Gryffindorish behaviour, but it's just not my character to do something so unforgiving. Good night, Ms Black." He said and he walked out of the Great Hall silently leaving behind a confused girl and a stunned Great Hall.
&&&--
' Why didn't he do it?' was the thought that ran through her head as she walked to her common room. She was confused. She was grateful and intrigued by the boy.
' Why?' she thought.
The plan had been formulated in the Great Hall when the boy interrupted. She wanted to tease him and show him up, but she didn't expect him to take the challenge. She never in her dreams thought that he would be able to cast the spell. Even her father who was a very good wizard struggled with that spell.
The main question was why didn't he kiss her. Why did he reject such an invitation?
" Cissy?" She called to her little sister who was dragging her sister by her hand.
" Am I not attractive enough?" She asked with a frown. Narcissa gaped at her sister and then started to chuckle along with Andromeda which soon turned into laughter.
" What's wrong?" Bellatrix snapped impatiently.
" Are you crazy? You are the most beautiful girl in this school, Bella. The most desired girl. Smart, intelligent, powerful and a Black. It's not even a valid question, Bella." Narcissa answered with a smile.
Bellatrix frowned. " Then why did he not kiss me?" She asked. The two girls froze.
" Did you want him to kiss you?" Asked a surprised Andromeda. Bellatrix shook her head frantically.
" Forget it." She said and darted towards the dungeons.
The two sisters stared at each other.
" Oh bloody hell. She has a crush." Andromeda said with a grin.
Narcissa nodded. " She is really dumb." She said with a laugh. " What if our family hears of it?" She asked suddenly looking scared. Andromeda bit her bottom lip.
" Forget about it. Let it run its course. This will help her to finally be like a girl her age must be." She said.
" This will be fun to watch." Narcissa said with a chuckle, her sister nodding along.
Unknown to them, a pair of grey eyes had heard every single word of their conversation and narrowed in rage.
" You will get yours, Evanson. Bellatrix is mine and only mine." The owner of the eyes raged.
TBC--
Hey guys. I have brought the next chapter for you. I thank you all for the support and your reviews. It's good to know that you all are liking my fic.
Keep supporting and reviewing.
Many of my readers had asked for Harry to be paired with Felicia. I am sorry but this fic will be Harry and Bellatrix. I know that many loved the character of Felicia but I want her to take the place of Hermione. Not overbearing or overly concerned as her, but someone who is very close and understands Harry a lot. She will be his most trusted friend and a sister. So, I am sorry to say this, but Harry and Felicia won't be paired.
Now let's get back to Bellatrix. She won't be a fanatical pureblood here. She has a level head but still has the Black arrogance in her. But not the bigotry. Yes she see muggles and muggleborns as lowly people, but she won't outright hate them. As a matter of fact, none of the Black sisters are bigots. Arrogant yes but not bigots.
I hope you liked how Bella is starting to feel something for Harry. Let me see how better I can do with the two characters.
If you have suggestions, feel free to dm me. It's always welcome.
Enjoy and Stay tuned…...
