A/n I don't own Watership Down the novels, characters, or any media form. Just my oc. One thing I will admit, this story is similar to other stories, but I decided to do my own spin on it. Finally I had a previous account but because of how some fanfic writers I no longer use that account. I had started a watership down story on that one so that is why some elements will seem similar. Please be respectful in your reviews thank you.

Prologue Trying to make the most of a bad situation

Faith Meadows a young Caucasian woman in her 20s was taking a solo trip to New England. That was land where two of favorite contemporary authors Brian Jacques and Richard Adams set their novels. And while Faith loved the Redwall series including the television series, she felt Watership Down was more realistic, even if the animals talked like people among themselves. She even liked the 1998 animated series, admired the 1978 movie (though it was a little bloody for young kids), though she felt Netflix had missed the mark with it's mini series. Faith was actually trying to relax on the infamous down.

She was thinking about her life so far. She missed her parents terribly. Ever since they died it seemed as though people were always judging her. Whether it was the shows she watched, or the books she read. People sometimes made fun of her glasses, a muscle had been pulled in her left leg as a child for she had a limp, her eyes were blue or hazel depending on the time of day, and her hair was honey brown.

"Things are so hard in this life," thought Faith. "I wonder what it would like to live with the Watership Down rabbits?"

"Would you like to try it?" said a voice out of nowhere.

Faith was suddenly on alert. She gripped her cane and brandished it like a weapon. She was not one who let her physical make her appear weak. She was prepared to depend herself if need be. She could be as cunning as a fox, and as alert as a rabbit. She looked all around but saw nothing.

"Up here, in the sky." the voice instructed.

Faith used her hand to shield her eyes. She saw nothing in the sky. Not a plane, helicopter, or even a jet. the only thing in the sky was the sun.

"It's me, the sun. Through rabbits know me as Lord Frith. I heard your wish to live life as a Watership Down rabbit. Do you really want to try it?"

"I don't see any reason not to try." Faith replied. "Can't be any worse than the life I'm living now."

"You may regret saying that. But if you're serious, my servant Prince Rainbow will arrive shortly to take to the world of Watership Down."

"Thanks Lord Frith. I can't wait." Faith said excitedly as she waited for Lord Frith's servant, Prince Rainbow.

Faith hadn't been waiting too long when she felt someone nudging her. She looked down, and saw a rabbit all colors of the rainbow. And his eyes were made out of stars. He looked solemnly at the young woman.

"Before we go," said Prince Rainbow. "I think you should know that your life won't be easy. Everyone has to pull their weight and you'll have a thousand enemies. Even your kind. do you think you can really handle it?"

Faith thought about her answer for a minute. Reading about adventures was a lot different than actually living it. Even more than watching a movie or television show. Plus if she didn't she didn't she would always wonder:

'Could I have done it?'

" I want to do it!" She said determinedly."Do what have to Prince Rainbow!"

"Very well, be it so." Prince Rainbow said solemnly. He started rubbing his two forepaws together. Stars seemed to shoot from the rabbit's paws as Faith heard a fimilar song being sung:

"Is it a kind of dream

floating out on the tide

following the river of death down stream

oh, is it dream?

Bright eyes burning like fire

bright eyes how can you close and fail?

How can the light that burn so brightly

suddenly burn so pale?

Bright eyes

Faith had fallen asleep during the song. When she awoke the sky was brighter. Her eyes didn't hurt, her hearing was sharper, as well as her sense of smell. When she stretches she gets a good look at her a hand, it's now a paw! A golden brown paw! a fimilar voice says:

"Relax Faith. You wanted to experience life of a Watership Down rabbit, the best way to do that, is to be a rabbit. I suggest using a rabbit name as well: Bluebell would fit you nicely."

Faith looked at the speaker, saw it was the rabbit Dandelion, and wondered what other surprises were heading her way.
