Because of the divorce between Jerry and Beth, the family has issues, Morty got problems with his homework, Summer became attached to he boyfriend more than ever and Beth drinks allot, Rick in the other hand didn't care much because Jerry's out, so he just relax and spend some of his Ricky time and accidentally gave a Doomsday device to Salem, now he must journey his way to get it.

Rick said it would only take 20 minutes. However, everyone knew he couldn't keep a promise. Both of them have unwillingly gone on a detour. A detour to a place that was collapsing, both literally and metaphorically. Rick and Morty ended up interrupting a fight to the death that would eventually decide the fate of that world.
