Having heard a little about the Acting GrandMaster thanks to Diona's small talk. Sora was excited to meet them since they can maintain peace throughout Mondstadt, and keep the people fairly happy which was all the more impressive to Sora.
Once Sora and Diona had entered the room Sora spotted the Acting GrandMaster and boy did he have to catch his breath. There she was sitting behind a desk with a mountain-high stack of papers. Along with books spread out on her desk with notes attached to most of the books. But what really caught Sora's attention was how beautiful she was.
Now Sora wasn't one to create false expectations or assume anything bad, but he'd expected the Acting Grand Master to be someone older and well...not as beautiful as the blonde pony-tailed girl currently sitting behind the desk.
Not wanting to stare at her for so long, Sora decided to speak up, "Excuse me, but are you the Acting Grand Master?" Realizing his dumb question, Sora mentally winced and hoped that she wouldn't berate him. Meanwhile, Diona glanced at Sora not knowing whether to sigh loudly or berate Sora on his dumb question since her goal this entire time was to guide Sora to the Acting Grand Master.
Taking his words at face value, the blonde girl simply smiled back at Sora and replied, "Yes. I am the current Acting Grand Master here in Mondstadt. My name is Jean and it's a pleasure to meet you". Now having a name to add to a face, Sora smiled back and began to respond, "Nice to meet you. My name is Sora and... I was kind of hoping you could help me. I've heard that you're familiar with people or... I mean a traveler who somehow ended up here. With no idea how they showed up, they came to you, and you helped them. I'm kind... of in that same situation Haha".
Having taken a moment to process everything Sora had said, Jean's eyes widened and peered at a book that was close to her on the desk. She quickly moved any documents laying around the specific book and picked up said book she had been eyeing. Turning to a bookmarked spot in the book, Jean then glanced over the books' contents and readied herself to answer Sora's question.
"Before I answer your question Sora, might I say, it's good to see you again Diona. I trust you've been well" replied Jean not wanting to ignore the other guest in the room. Hearing Jean's greeting and friendly gesture, Diona softly smiled back at Jean while speaking, "Yes it's good to see you as well Jean. Hope the incident with the dragon hasn't been causing you any more stress than usual".
Sighing somewhat softly, Jean responded," Yes and No. The incident with Dvalin was a cry for concern but thanks to Aether and Paimon they had some help calming him down. Thankfully no one was injured in the event and things have gone back to normal. Well...somewhat normal". Content with Jean's detailed answer, Diona nodded her head and made a humming sound which must have meant that she understood or at least had an idea about what Jean was going through.
Now focusing her attention on Sora, Jean confided in Sora while staring into his blue eyes, "Now Sora, about your question regarding if I can help you. I along with everyone in the Knights of Favonius will do their utmost to help you, but... I don't know how to exactly help you. For you see, the traveler who you've heard a great deal about. He asked for help as well. Concerning his sister's whereabouts but no one in Mondstadt had any information useful to him".
Taking all of what Jean had said, Sora let out a sigh realizing that he will need to continue searching elsewhere for any actual clues or information as to why he appeared in Teyvat. Diona taking notice of Sora's downtrodden face, decided to speak up, "Hey now, why the long face. Just because Jean can't help you with one thing doesn't mean she can't help you with another". Perking up, Sora realized that Diona was right and immediately turned towards Jean, "Oh yea! Diona said there was a library here. Do you think I could take a peek inside? Maybe there will be a book that sticks out and has something I am looking for" replied a jittery Sora hoping the library would help him.
Before Jean could respond, a knock could be heard outside the door. Jean clearing her throat called out to the person knocking, "You may enter". After Jean responded to the person behind the door said person replied excusing themself for entering.
Immediately what followed caused Sora's cheeks to grow pink and groan internally because the person who entered just happened to be another beautiful girl who was beyond gorgeous. Sora was trying not to stare as it would be rude, but the girl had an attractive figure along with an aura of high class of sorts which Sora was able to take notice of since he had encountered several high society people throughout his journeys. Plus, the girl's blue hair along with her black headband really added to her elegance. However, Sora while nervously glancing at her was taking notice of her attire noticing that she appeared to be a knight as well based on her clothes appearing battle-ready.
The blue-haired girl then spoke up, "Acting Grand Master Jean there's been another report of the dark monsters appearing near Wolvendom. The report came in just a few minutes ago". Switching from friendly casual to serious and concerned, Jean then reached for a map set to the side on the desk and spoke, "We will need to send a scouting party and take note on these creatures. If what our prior report says is to be believed, these dark monsters were able to fade into the ground and multiply at an exceedingly worrisome rate". Hearing what the two women were speaking of quickly alerted Sora. Raising his eyes in shock, Sora then stepped forward and cleared his throat, "Wait. Dark creatures? Did these dark monsters have yellow eyes or a symbol on their chest in the report?" questioned Sora wanting to make sure his hunch was absolute.
Surprised by the boy's input, the blue-haired girl scoffed, "As a matter of fact, they did have yellow eyes. However, what would a stranger like yourself know of the monsters filed in the report? A friendly word of advice, I wouldn't worry about business that doesn't concern you". Seeming a bit harsh, Jean grew concerned at what her friend had said to Sora, however, when she peered over at Sora his entire demeanor changed from that of when he entered which showed a look of nervousness along with an easy-going personality. Now however, he had a stoic and serious expression along with not showing any intention to pay her friends' words to mind and brushing them off completely.
Diona having been off to the side merely stared surprised at what the blue-haired girl had said to Sora, but she was even more surprised when she looked over at Sora who had gone from calm to serious in a matter of a second.
Sora wanting to lend his hand, confidently looked at Jean, "For your information, these dark monsters are my business. These dark creatures that have been reported are called heartless. They go after people's hearts which in turn changes the person whose heart has been taken into a heartless. The heartless can be destroyed but they will come back after some time. There's only one weapon that I know of that can rid the heartless for good". Hearing everything Sora had said, Jean took a moment to process everything as well as become curious as to just who Sora was.
Moreover, the blue-haired girl stunned by the boy's response decided to look over at Jean awaiting her orders. Jean, having taken a few seconds to come up with an answer, took a step towards Sora and bowed as well as spoke up, "Sora, I know that you came to meet me and see if I could help you, and while I can't help solve all of your problems. I will become indebted to you and help you find the answers you are looking for. In return I ask you to please lend us your strength and knowledge to defeat these heartless". Completely stunned by Jean's request and method of doing so, Sora chuckled a bit and shook his head while waving off Jean's favor, "Jean. You don't owe me anything. I would've found out about the heartless and done something about it either way. Besides, we're all going to have to come together if we want to contain the heartless before they start to spread into Mondstadt. I may be strong but the heartless can find a way to get here before I'm able to defeat them all".
Smiling softly at Sora's words, Jean nodded her head and accepted Sora's proposal to team up and deal with the heartless. Having agreed to a game plan, Jean remember the other person in the room. " Sora, I almost forgot to introduce you to someone. May I introduce, Captain of the Reconnaissance Company with the Knights of Favonius, Eula Lawrence". Having noticed this as her cue, Eula then did a curtsy bow at Sora seeing that the boy knew more about their foe and appeared to be confident in his skills to defeat said heartless. Realizing that she may have had a bad first impression, Eula decided to swallow her Lawrence pride and take a look at Sora, "Sora...I see... I apologize on my behalf for looking down upon you. If I had known you had a stake in this monster business, then I wouldn't have been so harsh. You must understand that regular citizens should not have to deal with monsters as that is the job of the Knights of Favonius". Sora realizing Eula's true intent behind her words, nodded his head while responding, "It's all good Eula, water under the bridge. And you're right not everyone should have to fight".
Feeling as if everyone was on the same page, Jean decided the best way of going about this task was to have Sora join Eula in the reconnaissance of these heartless beings based on the report in Wolvendom. Jean confidently announced her plan, "Alright, it seems we have a plan in the making. Sora, I do not know your fighting capabilities but from the sound of it, you know how to handle yourself. I would like for you to assist Eula and follow her to Wolvendom to check out the report. You'll be meeting with other knights in the field. Eula, I'll be sending an alert for Kaeya to meet you in Wolvendom. This may be a recon mission of sorts but having the Calvary Captain there as backup won't hurt".
Accepting what Jean had said, Eula nodded her head satisfied with the plan. Diona who had been watching this whole interaction figured now would be the right time to step out. "Sora, it seems you're in good hands now with the Knights of Favonius. I'll be taking my leave now. There are things that I need to get done before I head back to the Cat's Tail" she replied glad that she helped Sora find Jean who will definitely keep an eye on him and might even help him with his problem of how he appeared out of nowhere. Sora, hearing Diona's leave responded in kind, "No. Thank You Diona. If it wasn't for you, I'd still be wandering in Starfell Valley and ending up somewhere else. Once I get a chance, I'll stop by Cat's Tail and order something to drink. Hopefully, I won't get lost trying to find it hahaha".
Content with his answer, Diona nodded while smiling and excused herself out of the room leaving Jean, Eula, and Sora to start preparing for the recon mission. Sora for his sake was deep in thought and was starting to grow concerned. "If the heartless are here, then does that mean there are nobodies here? And if the heartless just started showing up, is it because of me landing in Teyvat? Not to mention, if the heartless come into contact with the monsters already in the world, then are they going to evolve into a pureblood heartless?" questions like these arose in Sora's mind considering all that he knows about the heartless and fearing that someone will encounter them if he doesn't make it in time.
Nevertheless, Sora closed his eyes and took a deep breath trying to calm himself down and take things as they come. Realizing that he might be Teyvat's only shot at stopping the heartless from growing before they become a bigger threat to this world. Something Sora would not let happen if he had anything to say.
