After 3 years of boarding school and begging, Hazel was allowed to go back home for highschool. But would things be different after 3 years or would things still be the same?

We all know how Hiccup and Toothless met and became friends. But what was Toothless's life like before Hiccup shot him down? Did he have a family, a life, even a different name? We've seen Hiccup's story. This is Toothless's. Written in spring 2014. Rewritten in fall 2015. Canon compliant.

Hiccup shows Astrid what he's been working on at the forge (mapping, plans for the village, and even a flight suit). Takes place around the end of the Defenders of Berk and before Race to the Edge. Just as Astrid realizes she is in love with her best friend Henry Haddock, he falls for someone else. Heartbroken, she ends up leaving for Europe right after graduation. What happens when she stumbles into him again, seven years later? Modern AU. Hiccstrid.

Hiccup is gone. He ran away after he was chosen to kill the Monstrous Nightmare and Stoick refuses to chose a successor. Five years after Hiccup disappeared, a Night Fury is shot down, but there is one thing special about this dragon: There is a human on it's back. The mysterious young man seems harmless, but is his past? Hiccstrid eventually.

After Hiccup, Toothless, and Hookfang leave Berk for good, they find the brothers' missing father, who tells them about their past and why he didn't come back to Berk. And while they're there, they meet a specific female Night fury. And just when life feels like it's couldn't get any better, the Hooligans come and ruin everything. Will the brothers be able to stop the 300 year war?

Just a quick one-shot I made. Hiccup has a secret revealed that the gang discovers. They are both shocked and saddened at the scars that have haunted their friend.
