I finished my own Original Story, it is entirely free and on Wattpad. Check it out, Destiny Rebellions- A Queen's Champion... if you love A Mortal's Might you'll love it. It was inspired heavily by that story and this one. Please check it out and tell me if you love it. I will be publishing it one day, so check it out before I pull it off of Wattpad.
It was shockingly easy for Shin to block Lee's kick with his forearm. "You hit hard, I felt that in my spine." Twisting his arm he grabbed Lee by the lee and threw him away before chasing after him, launching his own kick at Lee that the boy ducked under. "Stop moving you green pest." Surging Chakra through his tissues, Shin blasted forward and slammed an elbow against Lee's chest, knocking him down to the ground... only for Lee to twirl and knock Shin off his feet, forcing him to backflip back a few steps.
This friendly spar had already left Shin with so many bruises, he would only end up with so many more by it's end...
He knew the purpose too, for Gai to read his combat style and determine his risk factors and skill levels. Gai, being an expert Taijutus user and overall combatant, could read his skills easily and that was actually beneficial for Shin. He had no idea where he lay, Chunin level was likely but where? Neji level, Lee level, Sasuke Level, none of the above, higher than all of them... where?
The match ended up taking ten minutes and too Shin's pleasure he ended up tying with Lee, who was actually very rigid and thus predictable, so they ended up both drawing first blood with matching punches.
Gai clapped for them as the match ended. "Both of you, your Youth explodes!" Shin was grateful for his mask masking his eye roll. "Shin, you asked me where you ranked... I would put you at a High Chunin level, bordering on low jonin in terms of taijutsu. Your style, while defensive mostly, is incredibly adaptive when mixed with your natural swift thinking. You are not Lee's equal, or Neji's in terms of sheer taijutsu but you are still quite advanced. I would say that, with your other skills such as bo and ninjutsu, you would be a devastating enemy for anyone beneath Jonin level and even some Jonin."
"You Honor me, Might Gai... now that that spar is over, shall we go investigate the base?"
"We shall. Can you heal Lee's face first?'
Laughing a little, that is exactly what Shin did for Lee. He respected Lee, he admired him even. He was dim like Naruto and he still excelled... he was pure determination and he wished to emulate that.
'I could match Lee with his weights... which reminds me I need to get weights if I am to bolster my strength and speed. Maybe gravity and resistance seals? I've heard of them but they are beyond me at the moment... so maybe I should start with regular weights and do those seals later... yeah that seems like a better idea.'

Gai masked a frown of concentration as he and his team followed Shin away from the clearing they had sparred in and moved towards the old base of Orochimaru's. 'The boy's abilities are quite advanced, which is to be expected for a ninja monk, their taijutsu abilities are second to none. To think he has only been training for four and a half months in that style, and on top of that, he learned sealing, how to use a monk staff, ninjutsu of two types, and healing to an advanced enough level to gain the attention of Lady Tsunade. This kid reminds me of a young Kakashi!'
Turning to his team, he could not help but wonder.
'He is like a love child of my entire team... sealing, weapon skills, and taijutsu. I cannot express how impressed I am. If he had proper training from a younger age, he might have already reached Jonin level. He could rival Kakashi's skills or mine! He is a powerful asset that will benefit the village in far more ways than just healing. He would make a tremendous teacher, a powerful sealer depending on his current skills, and a great defender. We have to get him to serve the Leaf, and if that means performing this mission with and for him, then so be it.'

"This place is beautifully built." Shin started. "There is not a lot in the main part, the halls and all that, but I wonder if we can find anything in the deeper structures. Can you see anything, Hyuuga?"
Neji nodded and activated his Byakugan. "I see quite a bit,.. an entire library, jars, and vials of various things I am unsure of... I can also see several corpses..."
"Likely from the man's experiments. Lead the way."
Neji seemed all too happy to lead them towards the inner structures, where they found the library in question. Happily, Shin started getting started, going from shelf to shelf, peeking at the various scrolls. "Most of these are on the experiments committed... but some are on advanced biology, cellular structures, genetics and so on... some are on advanced medical jutsu, score this one has chakra scalpels and resuscitation techniques!. I will be taking this, but if I were you I'd take the research notes for Tsunade. It may have been used for nefarious deeds but if used properly it might serve greater purposes."
Gai nodded. "Can you seal them for us? We did not bring any extra scrolls for such purposes."
"Sure, I can make those sealing scrolls on demand, they are not very hard for me to make. Pretty basic actually." And so he went about it, pulling an empty scroll from the shelves and turning it into a sealing scroll in moments. "There use this. Let's just go through the scrolls. If I meet up with any ninja from the Leaf, I will pass these scrolls along. Healing techniques beyond the Mystic Palm are rare finds for one such as me, most are hogged by villages."
"That is a true statement."
They ended up packing up over fifty scrolls for the Hokage to review, with seven scrolls being kept by Shin. Four were on advanced biology, one was on advanced healing techniques such as the chakra scalpel and the resuscitation technique, one was on advanced chakra control exercises needed for medical ninja to maintain and sustain their advanced powers and the last was on a ritual jutsu needed to heal people called the Healing Resuscitation Regeneration Technique which used a piece of the body as a medium to cast a potent healing jutsu.
"We should continue going through the entire base. I want to see if I can get a clue where the other bases are." To his luck, it was in the next room that he found a massive map with six points referenced upon it's surface... "Let me make a copy of this, then we can coordinate strikes on these bases with your Hokage."
Guy's eyes were serious, cold even. "That would be for the best, Shin."
"Good."
The rest of the base mostly had corpses and horribly disfigured clay models and broken machines left behind. They ended up burying over fifteen bodies, six of which ere young children, breaking their collective hearts. The images were too horrible for words, and so they said nothing as they buried the children or the adults. Shin grew a hatred of Orochimaru at that point, one he lacked before. It didn't matter that he tempted Sasuke, that was Sasuke's choice to go for and with him,... but this... this was different... this was pure evil and nothing the man could do could and would change that...
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was great to write.
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
