I finished my own Original Story, it is entirely free and on Wattpad. Check it out, Destiny Rebellions- A Queen's Champion... if you love A Mortal's Might you'll love it. "Hello, Nara." Shin held back a groan as he looked at Shikamaru Nara, the annoying Chunin had been sent to him alongside his team including Asuma. They had been invited to go on this mission with him. Instead of going straight to Waterfall country, he had to double back to Rice Country to go on a mission with Team Asuma to infiltrate a base of Orochimaru's. "Yamanaka, Akamichi, Sarutobi... and you Miss Anko Mitarashi. It is an honor." Anko had been an unexpected addition to the group, but he was sure she insisted on it having once been Orochimaru's apprentice.
Shikamaru groaned. "Such a drag, just call us by our names. Shikamaru, Ino, Choji and Asuma."
"If you insist... so, when do we start?" Shin asked.
"We go in tonight, under the cover of night." Asuma said, for once not smoking as to not reveal their location.
"Why your team, Ino-Shika-Cho is not meant for infiltration but capture and interrogation. You lack the power for direct combat and you are not trained in infiltration."
Anko smiled. "That is what I am here for, I may not have the most raw power but I am definitely good at being sneaky as hell. I specialize in all things sneaky."
He looked at her for a moment. "I hope you are right."
"I also know how Orochimaru thinks, I can move through his traps well enough to not get us caught."
"Less to worry about. I am quite gifted at stealth myself, though it has been far too long since iI have needed to tap into that aspect of my skills."

The mission went wrong in about five seconds, they literally entered the first five feet of the building when they heard terrifying laughter. "COME GET US!" Some screamed before a man, covered in a curse mark, blasted at them at superhuman speeds. Shin, being the fastest of the ninja in the room, met the monster in the middle, diving under his mutating grey fleshy punch and socked him so hard he went flying...
This only encouraged more of the curse mark inflicted monstrosities to barrel out of cells alongside the walls. They were screeching, mad and drooling, some were morphing into thick monstrosities like Sasuke had when he activated his second stage Curse Mark. Their bodies were rippling with power, their chakra exploding in vast waves of unstable energy. It was disgusting and wrathful... they needed to die, it was the kindest option.
"We kill them all." Shin said and even Choji nodded in understanding. "Their minds are broken from the Cursemark, think of this as a mercy killing."
"Yes... we kill them all." Asuma said, his tone dark and sad all at once.
Shin blurred forward, slamming his staff into the skull of a prisoner killing her instantly. Twirling his staff, he channeled wind chakra into the ring atop it and sliced through three more, beheading them. Gathering his chakra into his mouth, he pushed it outward, breathing a stream of fire chakra through the ring in his staff, sending a massive stream of wind infused fire that melted five more prisoners into nothing. The fire burned so hotly they died instantly and felt nothing.
The battle went on for a while, with Shin slaughtering victims left and right, dancing around them with speed and strength only Jonin could match. Asuma sliced and diced his enemies easily, as did Anko... Ino-Shika-Cho did okay, managing to kill a respectable twelve prisoners. All seemed well until Ino put her hands up to send her mind into the last prisoner, a hulking orange haired figure that oozed more power than Orochimaru or Tsunade, his body grey and corrupt with power.
Shin, knowing more about the curse mark and the mind the she clearly did, did something very stupid and screamed out. "NO!" Rushing to her and shoving her aside, only to have a hard fist slammed into his ribs, fracturing at leat three and sending him into the wall. His head slammed into the wall and he passed out for a moment, waking only in time to see the Hulking Beast slash through Asuma's chakra blades with an axe growing from his arm.
Knowing they were in trouble, Shin did something else very stupid and shot forward, with a very familiar jutsu in hand. The first jutsu that popped into his head for some reason.
"RASENGAN!" And sent the beast flying into the wall... dead.
The world swirled and he almost collapsed, only for Asuma to save him. "How do you know the rasengan?" The man asked, cold and unsure.
"I... I can't tell you, not yet...please do not let this be spread. It would endanger me."
"You stopped Ino from entering his mind... why?"
Ino pipped up. " Yeah, why?"
"Their minds are unstable from the Curse mark, if you entered it might have shattered your mind entirely or you might have been lost. I have been reading up on mental jutsu, it revolves around my true name..."
"Shin is not your name?" Shikamaru asked shrewdly.
"It is now, but it was not always my name... please no more questions... I need healing and we need to collect the bodies."
Ino, to his pleasure, turned out to be an excellent healer and helped heal him from his wounds, using her skills as a Tsunade trained medic to help him not die from internal bleeding. "Thank you for saving me..."
"It is alright, you would have done the same for me... you are doing that right now."
She smiled, brighter than the sun.
Asuma approached after sealing away the bodies. "I will ask you again, how do you know the rasengan a jutsu only Naruto, Jiriaya and the Fourth Hokage know?"
Sighing, he stood and grabbed Asuma and Anko's arms, leading them away. "What I tell you, I tell you in secret..." It was only when they were far enough to not be overheard that he pulled of his masks, both of them. Anko and Asuma both gasped. "My name is Shin Uzumaki, but before this I was once a part of Naruto, created when his Yami was expelled from his body. I am a piece of his soul, a clone of his severed and reborn into my own person. I am not Naruto though, I am Shin."
Anko got close. "How?"
"Orochimaru's faulty curse marks, one of his experiments bit Naruto in one of his bases, the Fox purged it but it latched onto the Yami of Naruto and boom I was made. I never wanted anyone to know this... tell Tsunade if you wish, but I will never go and join the village if I am forced. I will kill myself before I am a prisoner in a gilded cage."
There was a moment of silence, and Asuma nodded. "What do you want to do?'
"I want to continue to find myself, and to honor the deal I made with Tsunade. I will rejoin her when Naruto does. I need time, to be myself, to be free, before I allow anyone to force me into a mold. No one but you two and Tsunade can know. I do not trust anyone else. Please, honor this."
"You are a badass Gaki and you saved Ino... I will do what I can."
Anko nodded. "Same, kid... you are nothing like Naruto... I serve the village and helping you we gain someone with insane potential. I have to ask, do you have any of Kyuubi's powers?"
"None that I can tell, nor am I tied to the Toads as far as I can tell... " He sighed and put his masks back on. "I still respect Tsunade, but no one else in that village ever showed Naruto any decency. I have his memories, even if they are distant. I will not allow myself to suffer as he has. Let her know that... oh and if Jiraiya is informed of my true nature, I will never go to the village. Are we clear?"
They both nodded but Asuma asked. " Why?"
"Aside from throwing Naruto down a canyon, being a terrible teacher, stealing Naruto's money and being a general tool that endangered us for a chance to date a pretty girl? Nothing."
Both gaped. " He really... did that?" Anko said, her tone low and threatening. "You need a contract... they are beyond useful...try doing a reverse summon, it will lead you to whomever you are tied to naturally. It might help you get a summons, kid."
"I will keep that in mind,.., thank you. Tell Tsunade that I will be willing to have Shizune give me a check up if she meets up with me in a select location. Is that fair?"
"She will love that." Asuma said. "Good luck, kid... you are going to need it. I'll do my best to keep the others from guessing who you really are, specially Shikamaru."
"That would be appreciated."

The ending was unplanned but I am so glad I did this, He would have been discovered sooner or later... this is the smartest way to do it.
