Sam and Dean go on a mission to find a Hunter that nobody can ever find. With an anonymous tip from some chick in a dark alley they come close to finding the Hunter when demons attack. Will they risk their lives to save a girl, or will they go after the well known Hunter instead?

Castiel is depressed and directionless after finishing high school in the 1960's. A suicide attempt lands him in Provenance, a mental institution. He befriends the band of troubled men in his ward (Gabriel the pathological liar, the sexually abused Balthazar, the burn victim Lucifer) but falls under the hypnotic sway of Dean Winchester, the wildest and most hardened of the bunch.

Sam's not surprised to find his brother breaking into his home in the middle of the night. Looking back, he even expected the punch to the face and the quick jab of a leg that brought both brothers down to the ground. Dean was always quicker – stronger. Every bit the hunter that Sam never wanted to be.

Dean lets Cas know he's his angel. Fluff. Just a quick fic.

Being a new parent is scary business but for Sam Winchester, he knows that his newborn daughter Jess is one of the most important people in his life. During a midnight feeding he comes to grips with that as he thinks over the events that led to the bundle of joy in his arms.
