This is third in the series, following An Uncertain Future and Healing. The guys are on their way back to NY. Although the bounty on Bucky's head has been cancelled, he's still wanted by most law enforcement agencies on the planet. Steve is committed to bringing Bucky in from the cold. Bucky just knows that he needs to stop killing, whatever the cost to himself.

Sam is worried. Bucky has been acting really strange. He's been pulling away mentally and verbally, but getting closer physically. He suddenly struggles with letting Sam out of his sight for long periods of time and refuses to meet anybody's gaze.
