When Odin discovers that Thor and Loki did something very foolish on Midgard in their childhood, he banishes them there until they can undo the damage. Meanwhile, Jane just wants to have an adventure - she never meant to go on a real-life treasure hunt with two attractive but possibly insane pirates. Loki's origins are not revealed on Jotunheim. He does not visit Thor on Midgard, nor does he send the Destroyer. Thor has to face a banishment that continues far longer than three days, forcing Thor to learn what it truly means to be mortal. I.E. The Adventures in the Proper Care and Feeding of Ordinary Mortals and Banished Alien Princes.
