Summer's P.O.V

It had been about a week since Winger and I had gone on our little adventure to Berry Island. As Leyla and I were flying around having some fun, I told her about the thing that Winger and I did while trapped in a cave on Hypno Island. "Wait, you and Winger did What?!" She asked, still trying to process what I had just told her. "I'd rather not say it again, so please don't ask." I said while blushing bright red at the memory of that experience. Leyla nodded and we fell into a tense and awkward silence. It was so quiet that you could break the tension with a knife. "Sooo, is there anything else you want to tell me?" Leyla asked me in an attempt to break the tension in the air. I sighed softly and shook my head. "How about we go swimming and talk about something els that's not so embarrassing." I suggested and she nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah, that's a great idea." She replied as I flew to where we had all played volleyrock back when Leyla and I had looked for helpkelp to cure the other dragons from their flu. "Well, this place brings back memories doesn't it?" I asked my friend as she jumped off my saddle. I spun and dove in mid-air, shouting a quick "deep breath" to Leyla as I dove into the water with a soundless splash. The water parted around me as I plunged into the water. I swam through the water as gracefully as a dolphin and as fast or maybe even faster then a swiftwing. But as I continued to swim through the water with Leyla clinging tightly to my saddle, I kept having this feeling that something was following us. Worried for the safety of my rider, I quickly spun around, shielding Leyla behind me just in case anything were to attack us.

Aggro's P.O.V

I shot up with a start. My eyes darted around the sleep cave and my wings itching to take flight. "Aggro?" I jumped about a foot in the air then I remembered that I had wings and that I could fly. I let out a shaky sigh as I landed back on the ground. "Y-Yes?" I spluttered out. My heart was racing and my eyes kept darting to the entrance of the sleep cave. "Are you ok? You seem a bit... jumpy, is something wrong?" I looked up to see. Cutter staring at me with a worried look on his face. I sighed again and shook out my wings. "Yes, yes I'm fine but... Leyla and Summer have been gone for far to long. They left early this morning and it's already sunhigh. Should ewe go out and look for them? What in the name of StarClan should we do?" I started to pace. "Am I thinking to much into this? Ugh! I don't know anymore! You know what? I'm gonna go out and look for them." My mind made up, I began making my way out of the sleep cave. But just as I had nudged the door open I saw a blur of movement racing toward us. Oh no was it the Songwing back for revenge? Was she back to try and kill Summer and Winger? I shook my head to clear the negative thoughts away, I squinted my eyes to see and what I saw made me gasp in horror. The dragon racing at top speed toward us was Summer. Leyla was on her back but something didn't feel right, and as Summer landed ungracefully on the ground, the dread in my stomach only grew. Leyla was laying limp on the saddle, her body not moving. Summer was sobbing and I could feel my own eyes start to water. I poked my head inside the sleep cave and called for the others. "Something's wrong, you guys need to get out here now!" I choked out as the other Rescue Riders came racing out of the sleep cave. "Leyla!" Dak and Winger cried as they ran over to where the girl was wrapped protectively in Sumer's claws. The tears finally fell when I got a closer look at Leyla's face. She was pale and she seemed to be shivering, but I couldn't tell if it was from the cold water or a fever. "What happened?" Winger asked as he walked over to sit beside Summer. "I-I couldn't really tell." She managed to say in between sobs. "B-But I think she was either stung or bitten by something in the water."

Winger's P.O.V

Although I was worried for her, I ate supper and went to bed with everyone. But later that night, I couldn't sleep. I needed answers. I opened my eyes. Nobody was awake. I got up and opened the trap door above us. I saw my objective sitting on the stares. The dragon diary. I began flipping though the pages, looking for anything about water dragons biting or stinging people. But all I came across was fastfin, divewing, fire fury, razorwing, rock spitter, and singeing, swiftwing and many many more. But there was nothing in here about water dragon with a poisonous bite or sting. I sighed in defeat and closed the book. If Leyla's dragon diary didn't have anything, then how could we find out why she isn't waking up? My mind began to race with negative thoughts as I slowly nudged the door of the sleep cave open. I sighed again and flew up to the roof of the roost. "Don't fret young swiftwing, we can guide you on the right path." I blinked and looked up at the stars. I could've sworn I just heard someone talking to me. But was it just in my mind? Or am I going crazy? I shook my head and stared down at my feet. Looking back at the stars one last time, I turned away from the night sky and made my way back inside the sleep cave. Maybe we'll figure it all out in the morning. I laid down in my bed, still worried about Leyla as I curled up with my tail resting on my snout. I closed my eyes and let the pull of sleep take me over, listening to Summer's soft snores and the sound of the crackling fire place. Just like the fire in my heart. For my friends. For my life. I heard the breathing of my companion next to me. For Summer.
