Aggro watched with a fond smile on her face as Cutter challenged winger to a fire-blasting quick-drill race. Lately her heart would flutter rapidly in her chest whenever she was with the young raiserwing. And it didn't help that this morning when she had tripped over Summer's tail and in her surprise, she had crashed headfirst into Cutter and accidentally burned one of his wings. She blushed a deep crimson at the memory.
"Hay Aggro, whatcha doing all by yourself, aren't you going to join the others?"
Aggro spun around quickly, a bit startled at first to see Leyla standing there with a curious expression on her face. "Oh! I uh... nah, I'm good. But... um, do you need a bit more information about fire furies in your dragon diary?" She asked to break the awkward silence. Leyla blinked in surprises but frowned and pulled out her small diary from her purse. Flipping through the pages, she showed Aggro what little she had written down about fire furies.
"Can I help?" She asked with a hopeful look on her face. Leyla nodded and the two went and sat under the shade of a tall tree. As she helped her friend with more information about her species, Aggro found herself completely but not quiet forgetting about the embarrassing events of that morning.
...
Later that day while they were out fishing, the Rescue Riders came across a female dragon trapped in a block of ice. Aggro and Cutter combined their fire to melt the ice faster. And with the combined power of the heating flames, the small red dragon was freed in no time at all.
She blinked rapidly and shook out her red-and-white wings to dislodge the ice that still clung to them. "Thank you so much for saving me." She said with a released smile on her face. "No problem at all!" Leyla said with a wide smile on her face. "It's kind of our job, y'knoe, we're the Rescue Riders and we well... you know, rescue people." Winger replied with a flick of his tail and a nod to the rest of the team. "Wow! That's so cool! It's a pleasure to meet you all." The small fire dragon said with a warm smile on her face. "I'm Leyla, and this is my brother Dak." Leyla told the fire dragon. "And these are our friends, Winger, Summer, Cutter, Burple, and Aggro." She introduced the others. "The name's Kindle," She said, with a sincere smile and a nod of her head in greeting. "It's nice to meet you too, Kindle." Winger replied back. "So you're a fire dragon?" Winger asked and Kindle nodded her head with a roll of her eyes.
Suddenly out of nowhere the sky began to grow dark with storm clouds and a heavy wind blows the trees around like rag dolls. Lightning crackles in the sky and thunder rumbles. A heavy rain begins pouring down. Great. What fun. "Shit" Aggro mutters as the rain begins soaking her scales.
"We should camp for the night, the sun's almost down and we can't see anything anyway. The storm clouds are too thick."
They began to fly as quickly as they could back to the roost. It took a while but when they finally got there, everyone was soaked to the bone⦠well all of them but Summer. Aggro glanced over at the fastfin, who was trying to shield Leyla from the torrential downpour as best as she could. I wish I was half water dragon. Aggro thought to herself with a frustrated sigh and a shake of her soaking wet wings. The water made her wings feel heavy almost as if somebody had put a ton of bricks to make hard for her to move.
