By 6 am the next morning several of the crew had woken up and they began to trickle into the kitchen. There were definitely early risers among the group and then the ones who hated all things morning…one of which includes Naya. If it was up to her the day wouldn't start until 10 am.
"Well good morning Hemo!" Lea says while getting out the griddle to make some blueberry pancakes.
"Good morning Lea," Heather replies giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"How did you sleep?" Lea asks turning her head in Heather's direction as she plugs the griddle into the outlet.
"Really good. Thank you. I'm not going to lie you really outdid yourself with the bed setup. It was actually pretty fun. Maybe next time we can do this and just hang out here instead of going to the club. After the shit show last night I think I'd rather keep Naya and my babes away from that chaos." Heather replies from the stool at the island.
"We totally can. I loved it. Casual, easy-going evenings are totally fun. With this crazy bunch, there's always something happening." Lea says while preparing the pancake batter.
"Can I help you?" Heather inquires wanting to feel useful instead of watching someone cook breakfast for all these people.
"Of course. Thank you! Lea points to the skillet pan by the stove and against her better judgment decided to be a good sport and bought some bacon for everyone else to eat. She lets Heather be in charge of the meat.
"Good morning early risers!" Jenna greets as she strolls in from the living room hugging both girls from behind.
"Hey, you! How did you sleep, Jenna?" Heather asks turning towards her offering a friendly smile.
"Like a rock. That was fun last night!" Jenna adds
"We were just saying that too. We will have to do that again soon." Lea responds in her usual giddy demeaned anytime an event is supposed to be planned.
"We will have to arrange more hangouts before the little one arrives. I know you guys won't want to have sleepovers and late nights if we have to bring our baby around." Heather chimes in.
"Your kidding right?" Amber appears around the doorway stretching her arms above her head.
"What?" Heather questions "Oh by the way, good morning Amber." Heather adds giving her a kiss on the cheek before going back to her bacon.
"Good morning. You realize your child will be the reason we have more get-togethers right? We will probably like them more than the two of you. So your skinny asses better bring me that baby." Amber sasses.
"You're going to want a crying baby around when the goal of the evening is to hang out and have fun..?" Heather questions confused.
"Duh. Seriously Heather we are that baby's aunties! If you deprive us of our baby snuggles I will hurt you." Jenna demands playfully.
Heather scoffs but it just makes her love her friends even more. She's so grateful to have so many people she can count on.
The four ladies were soon joined by all the guys. Everyone knows that Naya, Diana, and Vanessa are the very last to wake up.
The friends continue to chat and they all agree how much fun this was. Meanwhile, the girls were currently debating over a babysitting schedule. It was very entertaining for Heather and the guys if we're being quite honest.
"I'm babysitting first. Absolutely no contest." Amber announces to the table.
"Like hell you are. Who voted you first? I think I should have first dibs. The baby and I can enjoy my new outdoor patio set!" Jenna says excitedly.
"Right because a newborn will appreciate a damn coordinating patio set…" Kevin deadpans.
"With the greatest of respects to both of you ladies, I sincerely think I should be first. As you know singing is crucial for baby development, and I do happen to have a stellar voice." Lea points out.
"So does a certain Latina who also happens to be the baby's mother, Lea." Amber says not missing a beat.
"You all are fucking nuts. Hemo I'll take the babes first. I wouldn't trust any one of these people." Diana croaks walking slowly into the kitchen. Her voice was rough from sleep.
"Aren't you a beauty in the mornings." Mark teased pointing to her blonde hair that basically looks like a war zone on the top of her head.
"Shut up jerk." Diana hisses as she goes over to the cabinet to grab a cup of coffee.
"Hey guys, would you all like to just stay and hang out here again tonight? Everything's still set up obviously. This time we will play games and hang out here rather than go out on the town." Lea asks the group.
"I'm actually game. I had fun." Jenna responds.
"You know what so did I. I'll stay. Would you mind if we throw a load in the wash then?" Amber asks with the girls and some of the guys nodding in agreement.
"Of course. Make yourself at home." Rachel insists.
The friends are sitting around having coffee. It's just after 8:30 am. The group is joking and laughing showing each other pictures on their phone while another small group is talking about some upcoming scenes. Their individual discussions were interrupted when Vanessa and Naya happily came into the kitchen from the living room.
"There are the sleeping beauties!" Amber cheers from her chair.
Heather turns around and instantly smiles seeing her gorgeous wife approach her.
"Come here Beautiful." Heather said as Naya approached. "Aww good morning my little love!" Heather says as she smiles brightly at Naya's protruding belly, placing her hands on Naya's hips and kissing her bump softly. Heather then pulls her wife down gently in her lap for a long good morning kiss.
"Good morning baby" Naya smiles into the kiss.
"Mhmm. You're so beautiful." Heather responds running her hands through Naya's hair to straighten out her wild strands.
"I'm sure. No makeup, puffy face, messy hair…what a catch you have." Naya attempts to joke.
"This is how I love you most. No makeup, messy hair, your beautiful face, and your little bump. I've never seen anything more perfect." Heather replies placing a kiss on Naya's temple and running her free hand over her belly.
"God, you guys are adorable even in the mornings. I seriously hate you both." Diana spats.
"You love us D." Naya confirms with a smirk.
"It would be nice if you could be normal for once. I'm always in the doghouse when we're around you two.." Cory groaned. Making several of their friends laugh.
"And maybe if you greeted me like that this morning instead of how you did we wouldn't be having this discussion." Lea replied
"Cory what did you do?" Vanessa asks curiously.
"I don't know! I literally walked in the room and said 'good morning' and sat down!"
"Aww, so we figured it out.." Heather says through a breathy laugh. Shaking her head at Cory
"Wait…what the hell does that mean?" Cory asks completely confused at what is happening.
Cory looks over at the guys who all look equally confused. They continue to share glances but come up with nothing and shrug their shoulders.
"While you idiots attempt to figure that out, I'm going to go with my girls and sit in the other room." Heather says while she and the girls laugh at their stupidity.
"Hold up…what if that kid is a boy! He would be on our side!" Mark shouts as the girls are getting up to refill their cups and go into the living room. Naya subconsciously places her hands over her belly.
"No way in hell. If this is in fact our son in here.." Heather states while running her hand over Naya's belly. "He already has the brains to figure out what the six of you doorknobs couldn't. So no, my son won't be on your side." Heather finishes while the guys look on with their mouths open.
"Get it, girl!" Amber laughs and high-fives the tall blonde.
"They're all idiots.." Jenna said as the girls settle on the mattresses in the living room.
"She speaks the truth." Diana agrees.
"How's your arm feeling honey?" Heather asks setting her cup down so she can take a closer look at the bruise.
"Hurts like a bitch. It's so stiff and tender. I'm surprised I don't have nail marks where he dug his nasty claws." Naya said harshly.
All the girls wince at the thought. "I hate that he hurt you. Would you like me to get you another ice pack, beautiful?" Heather asks while placing a feather-light kiss on Naya's arm.
Naya smiles and nods slightly. "Yeah, maybe that would numb it a bit."
"Sure sweetheart. Let me grab that for you." Heather says scooting off the bed and into the kitchen. She listens as the guys try to think about everything he could have done wrong the past week for Lea to be annoyed. Unbelievable.
Heather makes a mental note to never leave her child alone with any of these boneheads.
The crew spent the day hanging out, chatting, taking photos for their socials (which the fans were going crazy for), and of course, the girls couldn't help but talk about the baby. It was now 6 pm and the crew was hanging out on their designated beds with their various snacks and drinks.
"Can I ask you something Hemo? Please promise you won't take it the wrong way.." Lea asks making everyone pause and turns towards her.
"Wow, that doesn't sound ominous…" Heather questions from her usual position behind her wife stroking her bump.
"Ok here me out. Do you..ugh." Lea pauses for either dramatic effect or questioning how to word her next sentence. Nobody really knows at this point… "Do you ever feel odd that the baby isn't technically yours?"
"Jesus Lea! Way to be blunt." Amber scolds.
"Isn't that a little personal, Lea?" Diana asks.
"Oh don't tell me you wouldn't feel some type of way knowing your wife's having a baby and it's not yours!" Lea defends.
Heather and Naya share a look of shock at the bluntness of the question. The girls have another one of their silent conversations before they both instinctively cover Naya's belly with their hands and look up towards the group.
"Alright listen up losers. If you must know the baby is both mine and Heather's biological child." Naya says.
"How is that possible?" Diana asks completely lost.
"Naya and I did egg fusion." Heather says simply.
"Egg whaaaat?" Kevin says looking at the girls like they grew two heads.
"Egg fusion. It's a process where they combine our eggs and fertilize them with the donor sperm. The baby is equally and genetically both of ours." Heather explains to the group.
"Holy shit! I didn't even know that was a thing." Mark says with a mind-blown look on his face.
"Yes, so this baby is completely ours. Neither one of us have a higher percentage of their genetic makeup. The baby has 50% my genetics and 50% Heather's. Then the other half makes up the donor sperm." Naya finishes leaving the group both shocked and amazed.
"Well holy shit! I don't know what the hell you girls just said but that will absolutely be the most beautiful baby!" Kevin said and the others quickly nod in agreement.
"Now let's take bets on what the baby will look like!" Mark shouted as if it was the best idea since the lightbulb.
"Oh for the love of God.." Naya feigns annoyance leaning her head back against her wife's shoulder.
"I should donate...I hear it's pretty good money. And I mean this face on a little person…come on!" Mark responded smirking and running a hand through his mohawk.
"Please don't. One of you on this earth is plenty." Heather says flatly causing the group to burst into fits of giggles.
