Thorin/OC. After the battle for Erebor, Thorin Oakenshield feels it's time to settle down. He sets his sights on warrior wood elf Vanya and arranges a marriage, but she refuses to be tamed into a dwarf's wife. Meanwhile, dark forces are gathering around Middle Earth, and both Vanya and Thorin will soon have to choose between duty and desire.

They say it takes a village to raise a child - Thorin and Dis have to go away on official dwarf business and Balin and Dwalin are charged with Fili and Kili's care while they are gone. Enjoy!

Set 2 months after TH, Bilbo is set the live the life of an old confirmed bachelor. Not so fast. The story doesn't end there. When Ireth, a feisty female hobbit with a murky past, not of the Shire, shows up at his door with a message that Gandalf needs him, their fate and destiny are forever intertwined. But when prophesies are made and the future becomes hazy, Bilbo senses danger.

Bifur's days are full – he has electronic systems to keep clean, vengeance to plan, and shadows to beat back. Thankfully, there's a lady who shares both his tattoos and his life.

Granted this could have been a lot better, I might revamp, but for now this will have to do. Thorin is devestated at the loss of Frerin (His brother-he had a brother in the book) and recalls a cherished childhood memory just before he set his younger brother's pyre on fire.

I was reading this nice little explanation of each of the 'Ri' Brother's wherein it described Dori being mom and Nori being Dad, and this popped into my head. Not much but there's not enough Ri fanfics out there :-/

Follows the troll scene. Sort of a mix of film and book canon. Contains non-sexual disciplinary spanking of young adults by a parental figure.
