Disclaimer: I sadly do not own One Piece nor any characters from it.
AN: There just isn't enough time-travel Marineford one-shots. I didn't edit like the first half of this nearly enough but this has been sitting in my docs since October 2019 LOL. Many of my fics end up unfinished like this so i was determined to finish at least this one. Might post a better reunion ending later for ASL as i was supposed to write it but i've been supposed to do that for the last 2 years sooo this is what y'all are getting. As always I hope you enjoy the story! (Also, if anyone is interested in being my beta-reader, read the ending notes!)

Luffy was on his way outside to fight off the Marines with Eustass Kid and Trafalgar Law, two of his fellow Worst Generation. He kept telling them he could handle it on his own but the other two weren't leaving and they just continued to follow him. It was so annoying.
Right as they were crossing the opening Luffy stopped in his tracks and started clutching his head. Immense sharp pains were stabbing him everywhere and his body felt like it was on fire. Luffy tried to shake it off but the pain kept climbing and the heat was increasing until he felt like he was about to explode.
It only took a couple of seconds from him to fall to his knees and a small moan of pain slipped through his clenched teeth. He could faintly hear his raspy, labored breathing and the two captains next to him trying to get his attention.
"-Strawhat-ya-"
"-what...fuck-"
He thought he could hear the tattoo guy and red-haired guy saying something to him but it might as well have been background noise. His mind was too busy being overwhelmed with all the images searing into his brain. Then as quick as it came, it was gone. Luffy's mind felt almost… stuffed to the point of pain.
It was too much.
Until it wasn't.
The feeling was gone and Luffy… felt whole.
He opened his eyes and lifted his head while he surveyed the area slowly. He sighed a bit miserably when he realized where he was.
Luffy was back in Sabaody. Again. He really thought this event was behind him but clearly it wasn't if he was having these flashbacks now of all times.
He hasn't had one of his things for about a year now, ever since he became Pirate King.
Luffy frowned and shot up quickly. He just wanted to get this over with already. The sooner he played out his flashback the quicker it would be over and he could get back to… nothing.
"Strawhat-ya? Are-" Torao came into view, looking a lot younger and healthier than he was used to, considering his visions usually showed a dead emaciated version of his ally
"Yo! Dumbass, what the fuck is wrong with you?"
Luffy's eyes widened in shock as he stared at the two figures in front of him. Normally he would've brushed this off as another one of his things if not for the fact that his Yonko were standing in front of him.
Now, that normally wouldn't be weird, except for the fact that Kidd had two arms and none of his scars.
Torao looked younger and more carefree than he had in years. Though he could see through his nakama's fake persona that he used to put on back then. Back when he thought he was living on borrowed time.
With just a quick glance around, he could see that this had to have been real. The scene looked way too familiar to be just his poor memory skills at work.
His subconscious was not that good.
Unfortunately, he had no time to think more about it before the Marine's started their attack on the Auction House and them. Man this was going to be a pain.
Ugh, he wasn't gonna figure this out unless he got away from here with his two Allies. Or well… future-allies at least.
Okay, time to just make a quick exit then.
Right before Law and Kidd used their powers Luffy wrapped a rubbery arm around them and flung them all back inside, slamming the door behind them.
(Huh, they usually dodged him when he tried doing that. Oh… maybe they weren't used to it yet. Luffy smirked inwardly, that was definitely going to be fun doing again.)
It might not have been the best solution though because now his two friends were staring at him with murder in their eyes. Or well at least Kidd was. Torao just looked annoyed and the lifeless smirk he used to wear back then was wiped off his face. Luffy liked him better this way since it was much more real.
The three of them were standing right next to the door inside, with their crews still in the auction room not disturbing them.
Hm, his crew would usually be all over him now...
"Strawhat-ya, what do you think you're doing?" Torao almost growled out.
"Yeah, what the fuck was that!? How dare you!" Kidd raged and almost attacked him but he was prepared for this.
Luffy let out a strong but controlled burst of Conqueror's Haki that almost put Kidd and Law on their knees but they managed to withstand it. It made him smirk just seeing how strong they were even back then.
As much as he hated using his Will on nakama it was necessary with how dire the situation was.
"I know you guys are mad but calm down until I figure this out." He honestly had an idea of what was going on but he needed to confirm it. He approached a now wary Kidd and grabbed his arm to examine it. "Hmm looks like you still have your real arm…" and that's when the redhead ripped it from Luffy's grasp but he hardly noticed since he had his eyes on Law now.
He grabbed the surgeon's arm to see if he had the scar on his arm from Dressrosa.
It was blank.
He stepped back to get an actual good look at the two Supernovas' and he could see now that they both did look younger. Less like they carried the weight of their mistakes. They appeared almost naive and laid-back when you compared them to their future counterparts.
Luffy knew for sure that this wasn't a mere memory or dream, he was really in the past.
That means that he… he could stop the key thing that happened which caused everything to go to hell. He could save Ace and prevent the War of the Best that caused the world to spiral out of control. He had to save Pops' too since his dying enabled Blackbeard to claim his territories and rise to fame.
Which really messed with everything.
He looked down at the two shocked and confused men and grinned. He was going to ask for help this time.
Luffy might not be able to save everyone but he was sure as hell gonna try. Time was on his side now.
/
Law was extremely confused and annoyed at this point. He couldn't even form a smirk or make jokes. He was sitting here watching Straw Hat pace in front of them like a whole new person. He could see that Eustass Kidd was just as weirded out, confused, and angry as he was.
They were all about to go and kick the Marine's asses before Straw Hat started holding his head and making small pained moaning sounds. He and Eustass glanced at each other before they tried to get the kid's attention. But it was like he wasn't registering anything and he was seriously considering checking the kid over - since future plans and all that - before the younger raven was back on his feet and glancing around.
They figured he was fine at that point and when the fighting broke out he felt something grab onto him right before he used Room. The something sent them all flying through the air until they were back inside with the doors closed and Straw Hat pulling his arms back to their normal size.
The teen seemed to be muttering lowly to himself about past, future, real, dream, etc, etc. This didn't stop him from questioning the boy on his behavior though and that's when he glided over to them - you could barely hear his footsteps - and practically ripped his arm out of his socket and yanking his sleeve all the way up to his shoulder.
The kid looked surprised at what he saw and he reverted back to his earlier display of muttering but stood still and just watched them intently.
Law had had enough of this crap and was about to say as much but the hot headed redhead beat him to it.
"Fuck are you muttering about over there, Straw Hat?!" He huffed and it seemed to bring the teen out of his trance since he was focusing on them clearly now.
The brat laughed weirdly and brought his hands up to rest behind his hat. "Well see, I know this is gonna sound strange buuuut... I'm from the future!"
What. The. Fuck.
Law stared at him incredulously and then scoffed, "Are you seriously joking at a time like this, Strawhat-ya?"
"Or are you just batshit crazy?" Kidd chimed in (un)helpfully.
"No! I can prove it!" He pointed at him and said with absolute certainty, "You, Torao, want to take down Mingo in Dressrosa and avenge Cora-san!" Law paled at his plans being revealed, sputtered in shock at how the kid even knew that, and then griminaced at the butchering of his name. Who the fuck was Torao and how did Strawhat know about Cora-san?!
"And you," he pointed at the other captain, "Kidd, want to take down Shanks and make an alliance with elbow-guy and hawk-guy!" He finished and crossed his arms and made a 'hmph' sound as if offended that he even had to prove it. Kidd was confused. Yes, he had plans to overthrow Red Hair but he hadn't planned on allying himself with anyone… especially not those weirdos. He'd rather give up an arm.
Now, Law knew for a fact that there was no way in hell this kid could even know that since he was the only person alive - aside from Doflamingo and his gang - that knew that. He really didn't want to believe it but before he could voice his opinion...
"Yeah... sorry but I'm not buying it, kid. It's true that I'm gunning for Red Hair but I had no plans to ally myself with anyone, let alone the freaks that belonged to our generation." Law didn't think Eustass had any right to call someone kid or take shots at them for being weird but okay.
Strawhat-ya gasped and muttered a complaint about not getting to know some of his allies better. Whatever that meant.
He looked back and forth from the teen and redhead to see how it would play out. Strawhat-ya seemed to be thinking hard and he moved to speak again.
"Uh, your best friend is Killer and you've known him since childhood!" Luffy shouted victoriously with a pointed finger.
"Anyone could find that out." Kidd deadpanned with a dismissive wave and a bored face.
Luffy went red, "Yeah well um you want to find One Piece and become Pirate King even though it's impossible!" That one almost made the redhead go off but he managed to rein in that temper of his.
"Again, all of the Supernovas are aiming for that."
That appeared to be when the teen had it and he started ranting about how he should have learned more about Kidd when they became allies and learned less about Torao. Eventually, the kid seemed to reach his breaking point and he started to randomly shout things.
"Uh...you want to beat Shanks cause he's your father!" Law's eyes widened on that one but judging from Kidd's face it wasn't true. So basically, Strawhat-ya was guessing at this point.
"False."
"Brother?"
Kidd sighed, "Wrong."
Luffy started pacing again. "Um.. you hate the Dragons!"
"Yeah, and who doesn't?" He scoffed and rolled his eyes.
He had a point. Law could agree that everyone hated them. Even the Marines.
"Urgghh, you're secretly a D.!" Law went rigid and he could see Kidd stiffen out of the corner of his eye but his bored expression never changed.
"...No." He denied tensely.
Intriguing reaction… Law filed it away for later.
Strawhat frowned and looked like he really believed that one would be right. Then an expression of remembrance crossed the kid's face and it filled Law with dread.
He slapped his fist and open hand together and mock whispered. "Ohhh right, I forgot that you weren't the one that was a D and it was actually T-" Law slapped a hand over the kid's mouth so fast that it made it all to clear what he was about to say.
"I think that's enough, don't you think?" Law smiled viciously at the teen who nodded his head enthusiastically.
Strawhat may have made it to where only they could hear what he said but that was also a problem.
Eustass gaped, "You're a D like m- like this kid?!
Law sighed. Now two people knew about his forbidden initial. He wasn't the type of person to go spouting his full name at the top of his lungs like the rubber idiot. Cora-san had explicitly told him to keep it a secret because of Doflamingo and the Dragons… He'll just have to warn these two idiots not to go shooting their mouths of and ruin all of his plans.
He slowly let go of the kid's mouth and that's when the Marine's decided it was time to start playing.

Luffy knew he had convinced Torao and it was pretty easy since he knew a lot about his first ally. He knew next to nothing about Kidd though since he had only met up with him a few times since he joined their Straw-Heart Alliance. Which was newly changed to Straw-Heart-Kidd Alliance when they first teamed up together in Wano.
Although, that was a year or two ago and now he was the Pirate King with Law and Kidd becoming two of the Yonko at the same time as him. And Bonney gained her title right after they did. All of them replacing Kaidou, Blackbeard, and Big Mom and him shooting straight up to Pirate King since he made it to Raftel first.
Shanks ended up keeping his title (much to the dismay of Kidd) until Makino got pregnant several months ago and he kept worrying and visiting East Blue way too much and leaving his territories unattended for too long. Causing the rest of the Yonko and Luffy unnecessary trouble so they very pointy told him either to retire temporarily( permanently) or stop visiting East Blue at the drop of a hat.
The redhead obviously picked retirement and so he was replaced. The person who replaced him was a shocker since no one had really heard from him after they toppled the corrupt World Government, and the Revolutionary Army took over. That person being the Revolution's Second-in-Command, Sabo, until he quit saying it was time to fulfil his promise to his brothers' since he had completed his mission.
To say Luffy was happy was an extreme understatement. And the rest of the Yonko were pleased that it wasn't any of the other crazies from The Worst Generation. They were all the most normal ones - besides their Pirate King - and they liked it that way. Especially the territory situation which they all agreed on, unlike most of their predecessors.
Kidd, Bonney, and Sabo got majority of the Grandline land. Most of them inherited the land of the Empires they defeated or it was given to them by each other or… Luffy. Law was more then happy enough to give up some of his share to Sabo since he was overworked with the land Luffy decided to dumb on him. Saying he wasn't interested in anywhere besides where his nakama were or wanted him to claim. Like, Sakura Kingdom, Fishman Island, Alabasta, Dressrosa, Wano, and the East Blue.
(Even though almost all of them are unofficial. Still, everyone knew that if you fucked with any of those places you'd have to deal with the Strawhats .)
So, their alliance just worked out even with the number of times both Torao and Kidd tried to say it was over. That they were Yonko now and yata yata. Luffy just laughed every time they brought it up and told them it wasn't over until he said it was. He wouldn't allow his friends or Emperors to fight amongst themselves, Pirate King's orders.
His crew figured that was probably the only reason the Alliance was still holding even with no common goal or enemy. There was just no fighting Luffy when he got like that. So. the peace was kept and all of them were friends or allies. It worked much better than before and now the only fighting was from other pirates trying to overthrow them and the Revolution trying to limit piracy. Thankfully, they only attacked the bad pirates and left the ones that wanted adventure alone.
But enough about that. The Marines were closing in and Luffy had to do this quickly.
"Torao, I'll help you with Dressrosa and Kidd… I'll give you some future knowledge if you agree to help me." Luffy spoke quickly and quietly.
He saw Torao nodded his head in agreement and now they were both staring at the redhead and waiting for a response.
Kidd just sighed heavily and crossed his arms. "I can't believe I'm believing this crap but fine. Whatever. I guess I'll help. Only this one time though!"
Oh if only he knew...
Luffy grinned victoriously and quickly explained his hastily put together plan to them which made them groan at how fucked up it was but they ultimately agreed.
Now he just had to find his crew before Kuma shot them all to the islands they spent two years training on.
/
Zoro got up from the hole that was made from where he crash-landed. He thankfully wasn't heavily wounded this time and took his time recuperating from his minimal injuries in the air.
He didn't bother trying to fight Kuma and he just let himself get hit by the paw like his captain had said.
He was going to be there for Luffy this time. He was going to fight in that War.
Now all he needed to do was find those monkeys, do some quick training to get used to the merge of his future body melding with his past, and wait for his ride.
/
The things he did for his idiot captain. This was the one place Sanji never wanted to revisit. He hated this island the first time and he really wished he hadn't agreed to this.
However, it wasn't like he could train alone to get used to the change. He could tell that his body had all of his future strength but he felt lighter, younger. He needed to be pushed and if it meant that he was going to join Luffy this time then he would do anything. Even if that meant training with those… hideous things again.
He shuddered just thinking about it. He really hoped he wouldn't be here for too long.
/
Now that she was much more experienced with infiltration and reconnisince it was relatively easy to find out where the members of the Revolution were hiding out. Robin was the best of the best at infiltration nowadays and no one from several years in the past could match her.
Not even the best of the Revolutions informants could hold a candle to her skills.
All she had to do was find a certain man that could take her to a very special blond. Her only worry was that she would be a little late. It was a very tight schedule to keep. She probably only had four days to get everything done.
Good thing she worked fast, especially when she was doing it for her beloved Captain-san.
/
Nami smirked. She could snatch all she wanted now. All she had to do was get on the old guys' good sides, steal a ride, and meet up with her team.
No way in hell was she missing this battle. Especially since she had a very special cloud and weapon that came back with her somehow.
/
Even though Usopp told them all that he had the couldn't-go-back-to-that-island disease they still forced him to come. He had to admit though that he would've come anyway since it was for his captain.
Though the only good thing about this was that he could stock up on seeds and work on his sniper skills before it was time to meet up with Zoro and Franky.
He wouldn't fail Luffy, this time he would be by his side and save Ace.
/
As soon as Chopper reached the island he started searching for all the herbs and supplies he would need. He was going to have a lot of people to treat and he was the best doctor in the world, even if he didn't have that title as of yet.
He would admit though that Torao was just as good as he was but he was more of a Surgeon while he was doctor.
Now back to those herbs...
/
This time Franky would make sure not to blow up Vegapunk's lab. He needed to gear up this body, though it wouldn't be like the one he has four years from now. He'd rather keep himself looking more human if he could, even if his upgraders were super!
Now, there must be a lot of cool shit in the lab and he was going to plunder it as any other pirate would. That was the only good thing about agreeing to this plan and coming to this cold ass island.
/
He bolted away from the crazy people as fast as his body could take him. Which was honestly quite fast since he was just bones.
He found the ocean in no time and spent the time he was waiting to work on the speed at which he draws his sword. Zoro-san wasn't the only swordsman on the crew and Brook was pretty up there in swordsmanship nowadays. Especially since the first-mate trained him from time to time.
He just put all of his passion towards music rather than into his sword. But music wasn't what his captain needed from him this time. That's why he would work until he dropped.
He would make Luffy-san proud and he knew the rest of the crew felt the same as him.
/
Jinbe opened his eyes to see that he was back in his cell in Impel down. He could see Ace shackled to the walls and he knew that somehow he was back in time.
He had no idea what he was supposed to do, so he just kept quiet and waited for his captain to raid the prison.
/
A loud crack resounded through the entire battlefield and it left everyone looking up to the sky. The dark outline of a ship could be seen falling through the air along with a bunch of screams of terror.
"What is that?"
"Something's falling from the sky!"
"It's gotta be another surprise ambush from Whitebeard!"
Sengoku too looked up in interest.
The ship falling from the sky got closer and closer and the screaming got louder until you could make out the words the people? were shouting.
"You just have to overdo it every time." A high pitched voice accused.
"This is because of his death wink!" Another person yelled in blame.
"Oh, so it's all my fault?!"
"Who cares who's fault it is? We're all gonna die! It's all frozen down there!"
The people were close enough now to make out their faces and what they saw left most of them shocked. They caught the faces of ex-Warlord Crocodile, ex-Warlord Jinbe, the Revolutionary Ivankov, and… Straw Hat Luffy.
"Oh yeah, I'm rubber, I'll be fine!" Luffy said calmly.
"Hey! What about us you selfish jerk! Do something already!" A man shouted.
"This is not how I pictured myself dying! Somebody help me! Please!" Ivankov yelled.
"Well I still care about whose fault this is and it's all yours, Straw Hat! Damn you!"
The current Warlords stared up at the group in shock, surprise, interest, love(Boa Hancock), and neutral expressions as the group crashed into the water.
The Devil fruit users getting fished out by Jinbe and they were all standing on top of the ship.
"Luffy, no!" Ace yelled with equal worry and disbelieve.
Luffy looked at the platform in determination, "Ace! I'm coming so hang on!"
Now that the group of people were on top of the ship in the view of everyone did the soldiers and pirates start recognizing them.
Ivankov looked out over the battlefield. "A who's who on both sides. All the big names are here!" He exclaimed.
Buggy laughed and through his hands out in glee, "The world can't handle this madness!"
"Hey Ace, just sit tight cause we're gonna get you outta here!" Luffy declared with absolute certainty.
All the while he was giggling internally. It was going to be so fun when everyone realized how screwed they were. Just from looking around at the gathered Marines he could tell that they were way too weak. Especially for the Pirate King's crew. The only ones that could even possibly be a match were the Admirals, Garp, and Sengoku. Still though.
Zoro, Sanji, and Jinbe would be a match for the Admirals and Garp wasn't even interested in fighting.
So Luffy could take Seguil guy if it came to that. He was several years stronger!
Sengoku ground his teeth together. He could see everyone a lot clearer now and with that line up they were bound to have nothing but trouble. He immediately lashed out against the idiot who caused all of this - no matter how indirectly.
"Hey, Garp! Your family's messing things up again!
Garp grabbed his head and shouted, "Luffy, no!" That brat always had the worst ideas out of his three grandkids.
Luffy was put on everyone's radar once they all recognized him. It didn't bother him though, he had already done this once. He was the one with the upper hand today. He didn't waste the days he spent on Amazon Lily this time. He managed to befriend Hancock again and he trained this body with her and her sisters until it was time to leave for Impel Down.
He did things the same way because he needed to break the people he broke out last time since they were a huge help. And he needed his Helmsman.
He owed them that at least, especially since all of them helped him in the future.
He did change some things though. He managed to avoid getting poisoned and he was a lot more careful with the infiltration then he was before. They didn't notice him breaking everyone out until it was too late.
He might've been able to save Ace then but Robin and Nami had told him that he needed to stick to the plan if he wanted to save his brother. So, no matter how much he had wanted to change things there and then he chose not to. That left with sticking to the original getaway and his awesome entrance.
That also meant it was about time to go meet Ace's dad since Crocodile was already moving.
He was so going to mess with Pops'. He heard so many stories about the man from Marco and was told that Whitebeard had even considered asking him to join his crew. Even though he never would've - Ace told them as much too - he had gained as much respect for Whitebeard as he had for Roger. He definitely wouldn't have minded calling Whitebeard his Pops' and the crew his brothers.
He had allied with the reminits of the crew when he took down Blackbeard and the government so they were nakama. Even if they didn't know it yet.
Luffy deflected it with a kick just like last time only… he used Geppo to get there fast and a Haki infused kick rather than second gear. He was saving all of his strength for the War. It was why he was more careful in the prison and why he's being careful here. He had learned to conserve his strength rather than go all out from the get-go.
But just barely.
Hopefully, no one saw it... but judging by Crocodile's and Whitebeard's expression it seems he might've been caught.
"Was that-" Crocodile ended his question before he could get any further. No way did this East Blue Rookie already have Haki. "Getting in my way, Straw Hat? Shouldn't you be more worried about saving your brother?" Crocodile snarked.
Luffy stared him down calmly which seemed to piss off the sandman even more. "Whitebeard is Ace's Pops. Which… makes him my Pops. Therefore, I'm not going to let you touch him, Croc." He crossed his arms and puffed out his cheeks.
Crocodile scoffed, "You have some fucked up logic, Straw Hat." The sandman backed off nonetheless.
That's when some of Whitebeard's crew showed up and 'detained' him.
All while this was going on Whitebeard was staring at Luffy's straw hat and he knew exactly who the brat was and that he was connected to that red-haired brat.
"Hey squirt," The Yonko addressed him and Luffy turned around, "that straw hat... it looks exactly like the one Red-Haired Shanks used to have."
Luffy fully turned around and smirked mischievously at the much older captain. He honestly really liked the person Ace chose to follow. He wanted the man to make it out of this alive and not make this battle a matter of pride.
Whitebeard could make it out of this if he paced himself and made sure to interfere very little and leave the majority of it up to his crew.
It sounded nice when it was put that way but Luffy knew the Captain wouldn't stand for it. That's why he already planned on keeping an eye on Pops right here and now.
Luffy grinned up at him knowingly. "That's because this hat belonged to Shanks and he left it to me."
"Hmm." Whitebeard gave him a considering look, "You came here to rescue your big brother?"
"Yeah, I did." Luffy crossed his arms over his chest defensively. It was mostly a play though since he was still smirking.
Whitebeard didn't appear very amused by this.
"Do you have the slightest idea of what you are up against? A squirt like you is gonna get slaughtered real easy out there." He stated aggressively with the pound of his naginata.
The entire battlefield went dead silent and many were waiting to see what Straw Hat Luffy would say back to the titleholder of The Strongest Man in the World.
People that have met him figured he was going to rage or give a thoughtless response back. But what he actually did surprised every single person on the field.
He laughed.
Straw Hat Luffy tipped his head back and fucking laughed long and hard at the strongest Yonko until a few tears came out.
"Did he just…-" Garp started but couldn't manage to finish from the sheer shock of the situation.
Ace gulped, "-laugh in Pops' face? Yeah, I think he did."
That was pretty much everyone's reaction to what the rookie just did. But no one's reaction was better than the man himself.
Whitebeard looked down at the kid with shock plastered on his face. Out of all the things he was expecting…laughter wasn't one of them.
Luffy pulled his hat down to shield his eyes while he smiled up at Whitebeard. "I know exactly what I'm getting into, Old Man." His smile turned sly and he let a bit of his Conqueror's Haki bleed through. He kept the blast neer unnoticeable to all but the older captain.
The old man's eyes widened even farther. "How-"
"Shhh," Luffy held a finger up over his mouth and winked, "it'll come out sooner or later but for now it's our secret. Got it?"
The Yonko saw a flash of Roger in the brat's face along with Shanks. That's when he knew that this kid was going to go places. Everyone else though had no idea what had just happened between the two of them since they had seen and felt nothing. That's why when the man nodded his head slightly in agreement it shook the whole of marineford.
"Did he just act like he was Whitebeard's equal?!" Buggy shouted.
"And did Whitebeard just agree with him?!" Ivankov added incredulously.
Garp and Ace reacted much the same. The raven couldn't understand what had just occurred between his little brother and his father.
But Whitebeard wasn't done yet. "Hey brat, are you aiming for the top?" He asked with a knowing look.
"I am. I will save Ace, I will find the One Piece, and I will become the Pirate King." Luffy declared without a hint of doubt in his voice. He had already done most of it.
Whitebeard finally let go of his poker face and shook the battlefield with his heavy laugh. "Okay, brat, don't come crying to me if you get hurt."
"Don't worry, Pops," Luffy teased, and almost snickered at the face Whitebeard made when he called him that but he pushed through with a teasing smile, "...I won't."
Whitebeard just stared mutely at the child until he broke off into a wide grin. Now this was a brat he wouldn't mind adding to his family. The kid had fire and will in him, much like his older brother. And with the self-confidence and power to back it up. Even if he wouldn't accept an offer he could still watch out for him. He was his son's brother and therefore that made him his son in a way.
Or at least that's what Whitebeard had reasoned with himself so he could justify treating Luffy like his child.
(What. The. Fuck. Just happened.)
That was what was running through everyone's minds during that entire exchange. And as if shit couldn't get even more fucked up Straw Hat took one look at the battlefield, sighed, and proceeded to sit down and make a face like he was pouting.
Whitebeard looked down at the brat in equal surprise and curiosity. "You aren't joining the battle, child?"
Luffy blinked up at the older captain. What- from squirt, to brat, to child all in the span of one conversation. He wanted to snicker at the hilarity of it all… Now wasn't he coming up in the world?
Instead, he just sighed aloud, "Can't yet. I was told to wait." He grumbled at the unfairness but did make sure to pitch his voice low enough so as not to have anyone overhear him.
He was already so bored.
/
Ace did a double-take and really squinted down at the blob next to his Pops. It sure looked like Luffy.
"Hey uh, shitty geezer… did Lu just choose to not join the fight?"
Garp for once didn't reprimand his beloved grandson for being disrespectful since he was just as weirded out.
"That's not right." Garp agreed, "It must be an imposter who's pretending to be my grandson!" he shouted loudly and bolted up, glaring at the figure on the Moby.
Luffy was not amused at how his gramps thought of him. He could do more than fight! Sometimes! Maybe… ugh whatever- it did not give his grandfather the right to treat him like an imposter of all things just because he wasn't rushing onto the battlefield. "I'm not an imposter, shitty gramps!" Luffy yelled in mock anger from his place on the Moby.
Garp sputtered in rage while Ace snickered in the background. "What did you just call me?! You've been hanging around Ace too much! Call me Grandpa or I'll-" He didn't get to finish because Sengoku slapped the back of his head and told him to act like a professional and to stop conversing with the enemy.
The Marine's, Pirates, and Revolutionaries were all on the same page for once.
What a crazy family.

The battle had been going much the same as last time. However, they didn't seem to have the second wind they got when he had joined up with them from the beginning. It made it so the majority of the fight was still away from the trap of pastafistas
That was a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing was that less people would be subjected to the trap. The bad thing was the more men they lost the less likely they were to win the war.
Luffy expanded his observation haki once again and was about to resume waiting when he felt sparks of power. He opened his eyes and stood up the very next second. He grinned big and some of his bloodlust leaked through. It was finally time to join the fight and clear a path.
"Are you heading into the battle now?" Whitebeard had noticed the change in him.
"Yeah… they are almost here and I need to clear out the small fry."
He really is an interesting brat, Whitebeard thought. He didn't put himself above his crew and let them do all of the work. He acted like he was just another member.
Hell, he would be doing the same thing if he wasn't so old. If he pulled stunts like that he was more likely to get scolded then thanked… but maybe if it was only for a second-
"I know what you're thinking, old man, and it would be better to wait," Luffy said seriously. "It wouldn't be good to join right now."
"Cheeky brat, worrying about me. What, not gonna call me, Pops this time?" Whitebeard joked. This kid reminded him so much of his brother, maybe just a bit less of a hot-head.
Luffy smirked, "Maybe some other time, old man." And with that he pulled himself back and was about to rocket himself off before he abruptly aborted the motion.
He quickly glanced back at the older pirate. "Make sure to advance slowly, seagull-hat guy is planning something bad." He didn't even wait for a response, he just shot himself off the ship and into the fray.
He looked towards the scaffold and caught his brother's eye.
"Acccceeee!" He shouted when he landed on the ice, making a crack in the ground.
"Is Straw Hat-"
"-Is he joining the fight?"
"Damn that Straw Hat!"
Iva and Jinbe appeared at his side within the next second and told him they'd be sticking with him during the battle. Iva because of his dad and Jinbe because- oh wait…
"Did you make it back too, Jinbe?" Luffy inquired curiously and the whale shark chuckled.
"Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was just me so I didn't say anything." The fishman admitted.
Ivankov was confused by the exchange so they filed it away to ask about later.
"Luffy!" Ace screamed, his voice was filled with horror and desperation.
Luffy didn't seem to notice- or just didn't care, "Ace! I'm coming to save you!" He shouted back with glee and hidden amusement. He knew what his idiot brother was going to say.
He shoved through the captain level Marine's easily and with Iva and Jinbe helping - two people in very high places - they were tearing through the battlefield. Along with one of Whitebeard's Commanders' and Division's until an Admiral took notice. They were almost past the trap at that point too.
Kizaru smirked lazily down at the pirates after using one of his light speed kicks. "Did you think I was going to just let you pass?" Speed Jiru growled at being blocked but the Admiral wasn't fazed.
Luffy smirked right on back. "No. I'm going to make you let us pass." Now that got the Admiral's attention.
"Oh, let's see what you got, kid." Kizaru held up a finger and started charging his attack while Luffy continued to run straight into it.
The raven knew Iva was gearing up a death wink to get him out of there but he had other ideas. He was going to leave his mark on this place right along with Whitebeard.
/
Most of the pirates and marines watching expected Straw Hat to either get hit with the attack or blasted back by the Revolutionary's death wink. It was a mere paradise rookie against an Admiral after all.
What they weren't expecting was to see the kid running and in the next second Admiral Kizaru was thrown back by a... haki infused punch.
The kid knew haki?!
Kizaru wiped the blood from his mouth. He looked back up at the kid with a far different expression on his face then normal."How interesting, Straw Hat. You weren't this strong back on Sabaody so what changed?"
"I was holding back." Luffy deadpanned with a shrug, "Now, I don't have to." He stated matter of factly. Many shuddered at the predatory gaze in the kid's eyes and even the Admiral's felt a chill.
This child was dangerous.
/
Luffy just kept running and mowing down his 'powerful' obstacles since Marco took over the battle with Kizaru. He sighed at all of the small fry he had to take down by hand.
He would use his Conqueror's Haki but he was saving that card until later, he learned by now not to reveal his entire hand.
That's when the Warlord's started getting involved but most of them were too weak for him. And the only ones that could even hope to match him were waiting(Mihawk) or on his side(Boa).
He beat most of them when he was a rookie for Enel's sake. And he beat Mingo when he was new to the New World. When Mihawk did that sword slash he didn't even flinch. He just evaded the man completely. Someone was already going to take care of the man later.
That was also the same reason he avoided Doflamingo, he was Law's target and he'd respected his first ally's wishes and plans.
(Wow, Dressrosa was going to be so much different this time.)
Moriah however did get in his way and he did his dumb zombie thing. Instead of engaging and wasting his time he hung back and waited for Jinbe and his water. The Fishman would finish the Warlord in no time.
Funnily enough, even though he wasn't getting injured or beaten his brother still had to put his two cents in.
"Luffy! Stay back!" Ace demanded in his older brother voice(which had always had little effect on him). "What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
Everyone on the battlefield looked at the man on the platform in surprise. But Ace wasn't done yet.
Luffy held in the eye roll. His brother could be so dramatic sometimes.
"You became a pirate because I wanted to!" Ace seethed and tried to think of anything he could to get his brother to stop. Garp had to turn away, he couldn't watch this. "You only went to sea because you were following me! But I've got my own damn life without you in it! I've already got enough of my own friends…"
"Ace…" Garp whispered brokenly. He didn't want to hear this anymore.
"You get it?! I want you to stay the hell away from me! You really wanna save me? A scrawny wimp like you?" He sneered, "What makes you think I'd even want something like that? Huh?!" Ace paused in his rant and took in a deep breath, "Go home, Luffy! I didn't ask for this!"
It was his own fault that he was here. That his family was dying. If he would've just listened to everyone that called him the devil. That all the son of Gold Roger would bring to anyone was pain and suffering. If he'd just stayed away from everyone-
"Are you done?" Luffy imputed his Will into the words and cracked his neck while yawning loudly. Ace and Garp looked at Luffy incredulously.
He couldn't stop the eye roll this time. Honestly, his family- he shook his head in disbelief.
The Marines around him were dropping like flies. The only ones near him that were left unaffected were the Vice-Admirals and even then only just barely.
The whole battlefield was once again silenced with those three words. The Marines paled at the show of power that this supposed rookie was showing.
He had the King's Will! Sengoku was seriously about to kill Garp and then retire. He didn't need this stress at his age.
Whitebeard on the other hand was smirking. The brat really was just like his older brother. But he had full control over his powers unlike Ace. He wondered when, where, and how the boy accomplished that.
Luffy started unbuttoning his cardigan and started to speak again. "Cause if you are I think I'm going to set a couple of things straight." Everyone who could see the expression on the boy's face gulped. That was not a look they wanted to see directed at them.
Ace, Garp, and Sengoku felt shivers run down their spines.
"Ace." He gazed right into his brother's teary eyes and he couldn't help but soften. "You're my brother and I would do anything to protect you. Even if that meant the world was against me!" he leveled a harsh look at his enemies and his gaze finally settled on Garp. He knew this would hurt his grandpa but it had to be said. "You are family, and there is nothing in this world that could stop me from saving you." The Marine hero dropped his head into his hands.
"Did he just-"
"His brother?!"
"Another son of Roger?!"
Luffy pulled his shirt off the rest of the way and just walked forward. Even though he was just talking his voice was projecting everywhere since the battlefield was still silent. "Like it or not I am fighting in this war and bringing you home!"
Everyone in front of Straw Hat immediately zeroed in on the large X shaped scar on his chest.
Especially Ace and Garp who lifted his head at hearing the collective gasp from his grandson and bestfriend.
"Ace, how did Luffy get that?" Garp paled, that looked like it should've killed him.
Ace's reaction was much the same, "I have no idea…"
Sengoku then spouted some shit about not letting Luffy take control of the war, being Dragon's son and some justice garbage. Luffy pretty much tuned it out and blasted anyone that tried to fight him with Haki. Eventually they'd get the point.
He was basically done with his job since he didn't need to drag it out anymore. Now the fun could really start.
A huge splash sounded throughout the field and suddenly a ship was right next to the Moby Dick.
Everyone's eyes turned towards the water to see what caused it. There sat the Thousand Sunny in all of it's shiny glory.
Luffy crossed his arms and pouted. "What took you guys so long? I've been waiting to get serious for ages!" He moaned pitifully.
"Shut up, Luffy!" Nami screamed at her captain in frustration. "Do you not understand how long it took Torao and Kidd to get all of us?! Only to have to rush back to Sabaody, collect the Sunny, and spam Coup De Burst to make it here on time?! No? I didn't think so!" She finished by brushing her extremely long hair behind her back.
Well, that explains how the separated crew were together and here at Marineford. Sengoku rubbed his temples and he could just feel Whitebeard's amusement at this upstart's antics.
"And you didn't tell us that we'd have to leave our crews behind, Strawhat-ya." Law spoke up from next to Nami.
Kidd shoved Law out of the way, "Yeah, that wasn't part of the deal, Straw Hat!"
Luffy's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh.. you guys came too? I only asked you to get everyone, not come to Marineford with them." He waved off nonchalantly and rubbed the back of his head.
"Wha… How dare you?! You're lucky I don't-" He was cut off by a kick to the stomach.
Law was smart enough to just sigh and let it go.
"Now now. It's not the shitty captain's fault that you assumed things." Sanji pointed out oh so helpfully while taking a drag from his cigarette.
"Guys, we are in the middle of a War. Let's try to focus on that!" Usopp reminded them. He was met with four sets of glares and he moved to cower behind Zoro.
"Captain! Are we starting now?" Zoro smirked, holding the swords at his hip. He was radiating bloodlust.
Mihawk zeroed in on the Swordsman. Something was definitely different about him.
Luffy silently contemplated for a second. "Is Robin with you guys?"
"Right here, Captain! And I've brought who you requested." She grinned happily as she shoved said person forward.
"No! No! Not yet!" But it was too late. He was already out in the open.
The blond slowly lifted his head and met Ace's eyes and then Luffy's. "Uh… Hey Ace, Luffy… Heh. Turns out my death has been greatly exaggerated…" He smiled painfully.
Most people didn't recognize the kid but Sengoku and Whitebeard sure did. What would strawhat want with the Revolutions' second in command?
Luffy rolled his eyes, "Just get over here already, Sabo! We need to save our idiot of a big brother!" he stretched his rubbery arm out and caught his brother as his crew threw him off the ship and retracted his arm fast. Sabo ended up in a heap at Luffy's feet.
/
Oh, well that answered that. Sengoku couldn't stop himself from hitting Garp over the head. "You have another one of those things?!"
"Hey! It's not my fault my son got to him! I raised these boys to be Marines."
Sengoku glowered at him, "Yeah, and what about the other two?"
"Roger and Shanks?" Sengoku didn't look impressed. "You know your grandkid is down there too!"
Another smack.
/
Sabo glared at Luffy only to forget when Ace let out a choked, "Sabo?!"
Luffy sighed heavily and moaned like he was in physical pain while Sabo picked himself up off the floor.
"Ughh. Yes, Ace, this is actually Sabo. Our brother Sabo. When the Celestial Dragon struck his boat he was found and saved by Dragon. The shot ended up giving him Amnesia and he didn't remember me or you which was why he never contacted us. He was brought up in the Revolutionary Army and is now the Second-in-Command. Any questions?"
Ace just frowned at the fast and short explanation and Sabo hit the young raven over the head.
"You can't just go telling people that, Lu! Wait, how do you even know that?! All of it was classified information known only to the top! And I don't see you spilling your guts to the entire world…" He muttered towards the end.
Luffy smirked evilly, if that's what his brother wanted. He took in a deep breath and spoke fast, "The name's Monkey D. Luffy, future Pirate King. And I mean that quite literally seeing as how I'm from the future along with my entire crew! I was raised by my grandfather, Monkey D. Garp, Hero of the Marines and my mom who leads a bunch of bandits. My father is Monkey D. Dragon. My brother's are Portgas D. Ace and Sabo. Is that enough?" He asked Sabo innocently.
"Woah, woah, wait! Back up. Did you just say-" Sabo.
"That you're from the-" Ace.
"Future?!" Everyone.
"Shishishi. Yup. But that's for later. It's time to start the battle!"
"You can't just brush over the most important part!"
Luffy wasn't listening. "Zoro, Sanji, Jinbe! You've got the Admirals. Franky, Brook, Kidd, join the fight! Robin and Usopp, protect the Sunny! Chopper and Torao, use the Sunny and treat the wounded! Nami, weather support!
"Aye, Aye, Captain!" All of the Strawhats courased and shaved to their posts or started working where they were.
"We aren't a part of your crew Strawhat(-ya)!" Kidd and Law shouted at the same time.
"Oops, sorry." He didn't sound sorry at all, "I forgot you aren't my Yonko yet." Luffy shrugged, "Do whatever you want then I guess, just stay outta the way!"
The shouts of "Your what?!" went ignored as the battle resumed.
"Okay, Sabo, are you ready?"
"Hell yes."
And with that they both race towards the platform.
Luffy could see that Jinbe, Sanji, and Zoro were keeping Akainu, Kizaru, and Aokiji busy quite easily and clearing a path to the platform.
It was finally time to go all out.
He scanned the battlefield with his observation Haki to locate Hancock. Bingo. He shaved right to her and asked for the key to Ace's cuffs.
"Here you go, Luffy!" Hancock all but shoved the key into his chest.
Luffy gripped both of her hands and thanked her for the key, causing her to swoon. And people think he was oblivious about her feelings. She's pretty and all but he already had his eyes set on someone else…
Smokey appeared in his path. "I'm not letting you get away, Straw Hat."
Luffy looked at the captain in amusement. "You do realize that you are like… four years too weak to challenge me, right?" As much as he loved fighting his rival the man was nowhere near the level he needed to be to even make him break a sweat.
"We'll see about that!" Right as he went to charge in with his seastone stick Hancock put herself between them and challenged him.
Luffy thanked her again and shaved off back to his brother.
"Where'd you go?" The blond asked curiously.
Luffy grinned and gave his brother the key. "I had to get the key to Ace's cuffs from a friend."
Sabo raised an eyebrow, "Boa Hancock, the Warlord known for hating men, is one of your friends?"
He shrugged, "Yeah, although she said she wanted to marry me but I'm not interested."
"Uh...huh. Oookay, Lu." Sabo looked to see how much ground they had to cover. The platform was so far… he was just glad Luffy's crew, the Whitebeards' and Iva were doing a great job at clearing the path for them.
"This is taking too long. Brace yourself, Sabo!" Luffy grinned and before Sabo could dodge his brother had a secure hold on him and shot into the air using Geppo.
"He knows the secret Marine technique Rokushiki?!"
Luffy wasted no time in making it above the platform. He could see Sengoku starting to get serious, which was a bit of a problem. And Garp looked up at him but he was confident that Sabo could handle gramps.
So, he dropped his brother like a rock, ignoring the yelp, and started blowing air into his thumb and utilizing third gear along with his armament haki.
"Gomu Gomu no Gigant Pistol!" Sengoku's eyes widened in surprise but he was already halfway through his Budda transformation. He was way too slow to dodge this.
The attack hit him full on and Luffy hoped it would buy them some time. It's not that he couldn't take the fleet Admiral… he would just really rather not. He didn't want to decimate Marineford after all. Their fight would wipe it off the map.
Luffy dropped down next to his brothers, "Gramps?"
Sabo pointed to a heap on the ground below them and then went back to fiddling with Ace's cuffs.
Luffy smiled a bit but it was a sad smile.
Gramps may have let them take him out of the fight both times Luffy has done this but it doesn't change the fact that he let them do this to Ace. It may not cost Ace his life this time but it did in his timeline… The geezer was going to have to decide one day. The Marines or his family.
"You good, Luffy?" His brothers looked at him in concern.
He realized Ace's cuffs were off and they were waiting for him.
"Shishishi. Yeah, just hungry!" The younger raven hurriedly grabbed them both and shot back into the sky.
"Luffy!" They shouted with annoyance but he ignored it.
With a quick glance around the field he could see that his three strongest were tiring a bit.
"Guys! I got Ace! Start heading back to the Sunny!" He saw them start to retreat and the rest of the pirates in the plaza followed suit. This was laughably easy. He wished he had this much strength last time.
He used geppo and landed right on the Moby, dropping his brothers without warning. They hit the deck. Hard.
"Luffy!" They screamed.
"Shishishi. I couldn't help myself. Who's the strongest now?" He teased them and they both kept shoving the other trying to get to him.
He sidestepped them easily and focused on the captain of the ship who was looking at the scene fondly.
He smiled smugly at Whitebeard, "Told you I'd save Ace."
"Gurarara. Don't get ahead of yourself. This was a collective effort, brat." Whitebeard mock scolded but it was ruined by the grin he had.
"Okay, Pops, whatever you need to tell yourself to sleep better tonight." Was Luffy's smart reply.
Ace and Sabo were looking at their brother like they'd never seen him before. He was so Luffy but different at the same time.
Luffy refocused his attention on his crew mates that had almost made it back to the ship. He stretched his legs, cracked his fingers, and prepared himself for the ass kicking he was about to give.
"You're going back out there?" Whitebeard questioned.
Luffy sighed and brushed a hand over the scar that came back with him. "Yeah… I've got an Admiral I need to take care of before he causes any serious problems."
All three of them sobered as they looked at Luffy's scar.
"Well, watch my brothers for me!" He grinned and leapt off the Moby to intercept Zoro and they slapped hands like his first mate was tagging him in.
Akainu looked at him with disgust. "Son of Dragon," he spit at the monster.
Luffy matched that look but he had a healthy amount of hatred and bloodlust in his. "Red Mutt of the Marines."
Akainu glowered and Luffy smirked with hard eyes. Fully letting the Marine dog feel all of his Will while he beat him into the ground using gear second, haki, and then gear fourth.
"This is for taking Aokiji's leg!" Second gear haki punch.
Everyone's eyes have been trained on this fight since the Straw Hat Captain took over. Even the Admiral's stopped their pursuit to watch. So when everyone heard the mention of Aokiji coming from Straw Hat's mouth they focused more.
Aokiji looked down at his legs in confusion. Both were intact.
Second gear haki kick and punch. "That was for all the pain and suffering you caused as Fleet Admiral!"
Aokiji could guess as to why he lost his leg now… for that man to inherit the highest position of the Marines he'd expect nothing less of a full scale fight.
Sengoku and Garp looked horrified at the thought of that man taking over the Marines.
"This is for hurting Pops and Marco!" Gear Fourth, both legs.
Luffy looked right into the Absolute Justice Admiral's eyes and readyed his final attack.
"And this… is for killing my brother, you bastard mutt!" King Kong punch right into his stomach, cracks forming under his limp body.
Luffy checked with his observation haki to see if he was done. He felt no flicker of life coming from the man lying in a crater below him. He deactivated Fourth Gear and turned away from the man without a second glance back. His crew watched from the Thousand Sunny with satisfied smirks and some with sad smiles.
Luffy hopped back up to Moby and breathed in and out. "That… was just as satisfying as the first time!" He stated happily like he didn't just kill an Admiral that couldn't even land a single hit on him.
People shuddered in fear and backed away and others looked at the strawhatted captain in awe. They could now see how this person became the second pirate king.
Before anyone could even say anything or the Marines and Pirates to resume fighting they heard a disgusting laugh.
"Zehahahahaha!"
/
Luffy completely ignored Blackbeard's monologue and turned his attention to Whitebeard. "Told you it would be better to wait." Whitebeard just raised an eyebrow.
"Teach is all yours, Pops. We will take care of his crew." The strawhat captain cracked his knuckles and flashed the old man with a cheeky grin. "Oh and if you want to use your Devil fruit make sure you immobilize his arms first!"
/
After Luffy and his crew easily disposed of the Blackbeard Pirates they sat on the rails of the Sunny and watched the current fight play out.
Luffy snickered. Teach had no chance against Pops in this time. The old man hadn't fought in the war at all and was fresher than Blackbeard who came here straight from Impel Down.
"Why did you let Whitebeard take out Teach this time?" Zoro questioned his captain from his seated position on the left of Luffy.
Luffy shrugged, "Eh, I had the pleasure of taking him out last time with Sabo. Figured I'd let the Old Man do it himself since he's more than strong enough to handle him." He smiled, "Plus, Teach was always Pops' problem to deal with." The swordsman nodded in understanding and they resumed watching.
Whitebeard already cut off one of the bastard's arms and was currently pounding his face into the ground with his Tremor-Tremor powers. His powers were much stronger than last time since the captain wasn't half dead.
Luffy only felt a sense of sick satisfaction when the tremors finally stopped. He could feel it radiating off his crew and the rest of the Whitebeards' too.
They had won.
/
"I have come to end this War! If you still… want to fight.." Shanks looked around and noticed that no one was fighting and it actually looked like the Whitebeards were moving out. And was that Luffy?!
Luffy didn't even glance at the red haired captain and neither did Whitebeard. They were too busy swapping New World stories and everyone that wasn't sitting around listening to Luffy was too busy packing up to pay Shanks any mind.
He was telling them about his time in the New World. The first thing he did was save Fishman Island from Hody and his gang, nearly destroying the whole island and sustaining enough injuries to keep him down for a week, only to ally with another Supernova right after to take down Doflamingo (good thing the bird was already gone) and save the Kingdom of Dressrosa. Which was where he met his thought-dead brother who ate the Mera Mera no Mi to carry on Ace's legacy.
"You guys are seriously going to just ignore my awesome entrance?!" Shanks whined at Whitebeard and Luffy.
Ben sighed and wished his captain would grow up.
"Oh sorry, I didn't see you there, Shanks!" Luffy didn't look sorry at all.
Whitebeard stared at Shanks being on his ship and the redhead stared right back. Then he looked at Luffy and then back at Shanks. Ultimately sighing and letting the other Yonko stay. For now.
Luffy laughed at Whitebeards' reaction.
"What are you doing here, brat?" The old man gave him the stink eye without his expression even changing.
Shanks pouted and sat next to Luffy and Whitebeard, forming a triangle. "I came to stop the war but it looks like you guys didn't need that. I did hold off Kaido and I didn't even get a thank you."
The oldest Yonko stopped himself from rolling his eyes at the brat.
Luffy didn't. "You just came too late, Shanks. And holding off Kaido couldn't have been that hard."
Shanks gaped at him, "How would you know?! He asked angrily.
"Uh, I defeated him multiple times, obviously. You can't become the Pirate King without defeating a couple of Yonko first." Luffy stated like it was that obvious.
Shanks was so confused and watched as Firefist and a blond hit the younger raven over the head.
"You know Shanks doesn't know, Luffy." Ace reminded his forgetful little brother.
"Stop messing with him and just tell him you're from the future and you're the second Pirate King." The blond scolded.
"Uh… but you just did, Sabo."
The blo-Sabo sighed heavily and leaned on Ace all while whining. "I think I liked it better when he used to follow us around and look up to us."
"Me too, Ace. Me too."
/
Right after Whitebeard defeated Blackbeard, Sengoku called the war to an end and accepted his loss. A ceasefire was ordered and the pirates were allowed to collect the bodies of the fallen and everyone treated their wounded.
It was pretty strange to say the least but Luffy was used to strange, as was his crew. The Strawhats, Kidd, and Law all eventually migrated to Moby to listen to the future explanation and all that. Franky, Brook, and Chopper stayed on the Sunny so they could sail alongside the Moby for a while and Chopper could continue to treat the wounded.
The people on the main part of the deck were Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Usopp, Robin, Jinbe, Kidd, Law, Marco, Whitebeard, Ace, and Sabo. Some commanders stayed and drifted to and from them but they were the main people.
"Okay, so I guess ask us anything you like. Oh but I don't really like spoiling adventures too much…"
Sabo and Ace smiled fondly at their baby brother.
Whitebeard pondered for a minute before he asked the first question. "What happened at Marineford originally?"
All the Strawhats sobered immediately and exchanged worried glances to each other and eventually settled on their captain. No one missed the exchange.
"Hm well… I got way more injured in Impel down the first time around and almost died. Iva-chan fixed me though and injected me with hormones although-"
"He did what?! You know that shaves off years-"
"Sabo. Hush and let me answer Pops' question." Luffy scolded.
The blond glared but he did shut up. He would be having words with Ivankov later. And by the looks of Luffy's crew his brother never told them either.
"Now as I was saying. When I got to Marineford I was already at half strength at most." Luffy absent-mindly started touching the scar on his stomach. "My crew was separated so they didn't join the battle. Now the war is kind of foggy for me so all I really remember was Marco getting really injured, Akainu injuring Pops and Blackbeard eventually killing him, and Ace getting killed by Akainu because he protected me." Everyone who wasn't from the future had pretty grim faces.
Luffy snapped his fingers, "Oh and Jinbe carried me out of there but Akainu got a hit on us both. I almost died but Torao over here," he pointed at Law and grinned, "patched me and Jinbe up. That's about it."
"Mm." Whitebeard hummed.
Everyone else just looked awkward and like they didn't know what to say. Until Luffy's stomach made itself known with a loud rumble.
"Sannnnji." Luffy whined at the Chef and the blond chuckled.
"Alright, alright, I'm going. Be prepared for your bottomless pit to be satisfied."
"I can't wait! Oh uh, no more questions?"
"If me and Eustass-ya are Yonko then who are the other two?" Law questioned and everyone zeroed in on Luffy in interest.
Luffy grinned. "One of them is another Supernova like us, Jewelry Bonney, and… Sabo!"
Everyone gaped and started at the Second-in-Command.
"Wait, what?! How?" Sabo stuttered out.
"Well, Shanks was until like seven months ago when he retired… for certain reasons. And you showed up out of nowhere to claim his spot."
"Huh? You mean I don't beat Red Hair and take his seat?" Kidd growled out.
Luffy shook his head. "Nope, in Wano me, you, and Torao defeated Big Mom and Kaidou and eventually Blackbeard soon after along with Bonney. So you three took their places and I beat you all to Raftel first, making me Pirate King."
Whitebeard, Marco, Ace, and Sabo looked confused. "Why was Big Mom in Kaidou's territory?" The phoenix asked.
Luffy sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "I might've gone straight from Totto Land to Wano and Big Mom kind of… followed me there. They ended up making an Alliance with each other to try and stop the rebellion and take us out. Then they were gonna fight for the title of Pirate King afterwords"
Ace and Sabo along with all the Strawhats sighed. They were there and just hearing it makes them want to slap their captain for his stupidity.
"Lu… why were you in Big Mom's territory?" Sabo.
Luffy huffed, "Big Mom was being mean to Fishman Island so I was going to challenge her for it at some point… but I went because she took my Chef to marry one of her daughters. For reasons."
Whitebeard gave him an approving smile. "Just like your old man, gurararara.
"Don't encourage him!" Marco, Ace, and Sabo yelled.
The Strawhats' laughed while Kidd and Law couldn't even process the whole fiasco.
"So, why did you go to Wano?" Ace asked after it had quieted down.
"Hm.. after me and Torao defeated Doflamingo he got mad but the plan was for Kaidou to get mad at Mingo. That wasn't what happened so that anger kinda fell on us. And we had friends from Wano that we met on this other island that helped in Dressrosa who asked for our help. So, Law and half of my crew went to Wano while the rest of us went to rescue Sanji. Then eventually we all met up in Wano."
"And how exactly did we manage to beat two Yonko's, Strawhat-ya?"
Luffy grinned. "Kidd agreed to join-"
Usopp coughed, "Forced. Ugm. Sorry, I had something in my throat."
The raven smacked his sniper. ''Kidd agreed to join our alliance so it was the Straw-Heart-Kidd Alliance and Kid's old alliance Supernova's," Luffy wrinkled his nose in disgust, "Hawk-guy and Elbow-guy, and our friends teamed up and beat them!"
Kidd already knew that he would never willingly team up with either of these two. Especially Straw Hat. The guy was insane.
Everyone turned towards the Strawhats' in disbelief, this couldn't be the real story.
"Yeah no, that's exactly what happened." Nami shrugged, she could understand. Her life has been crazy and unbelievable ever since her rubber-headed captain crashed into her life.
"And Blackbeard?" Marco.
"Straw, Heart, Kidd, and the Bonney Pirates. Along with Marco and the reminits of the Whitebeard Pirates, Sabo, and a couple of friends."
"Interesting… team up."
"What happened to the World Government?" Sabo. All of the Straw Hats smirked at this question.
"We ruined them pretty much after we all gained our titles." Luffy smiled happily just thinking about how they razed it to the ground. "Me, Law, Kidd, Bonney, Shanks, Sabo, and the Revolutionary Army. Along with all of our Allies. The main one's being Marco and several Commanders, a few Ex-Warlords, Admirals, and Vice Admirals… I think that's about it."
"Some Marines actually sided with you?"
"The good ones did, yeah." Luffy was pretty surprised when he saw them join the battle too… "So, anything else?"
The questioning went on for a bit longer but the Future Straw Hat's didn't mind a thing. Luffy was so happy that everything worked out and his whole family survived. Things might end up happening differently now but Luffy was strong enough to face anything that came his way. Be it the Marines or the Celestial Dragons themselves. Nothing will threaten his nakama again.

And that's it. Not really a satisfying ending, I know. But it's the best I could do with my muse gone for this story. Beta-reader. Just DM me about it. Warning now though is that i'm pretty much always inactive unless i get a sudden burst to write, which isn't very often. However, I do want to complete my two other fics that I have going on right now so I can start some new stuff without feeling guilty. My fics are primarily going to consist of Found Family, Time Travel, 5+1s, and hints of relationships that are most likely m|m. If you're okay with that then feel free to shoot me a dm!
