Jason would've died five times on the way to the front door if not for Leo
The lightning gang paled. They gave grateful looks to Leo who grinned.
First it was the motion-activated…course the exploding doorbell.
"What the-?" Percy asked with raised eyebrows.
"Those are some interesting traps. Ingenious though. Hidden well but fatal." Leo said, with a thoughtful expression.
"Think we should add them on the water shield? I mean we just have to add one or two traps more. We've already added like 10. A few more would be good." Beckendorf suggested.
"Mhm. We'll do that." Leo nodded in agreement. Percy grinned at the two of them.
"Honestly, Percy and Nico, you two are quite intelligent about traps. I have no idea where you come up with them from." Beckendorf said, shaking his head in amusement.
"Imagination." Percy and Nico smirked.
"Ahh the best way to get ideas." The Stolls grinned. Hermes laughed as he nodded in agreement.
Leo deactivated all of them…of his belt to disable them.
Everybody whistled.
"Definitely commander tool belt." Castor grinned. Leo grinned back.
"I agree." He said.
"You're amazing, man," Jason said
"I know right!" Leo smirked. Jason chuckled.
"Thanks though." Leo said. Jason nodded.
Leo scowled as he examined…but I'm amazing."
Leo and Jason winced.
"Look Leo, I didn't mean that even a bit and also it wasn't your fault." Jason said apologetically
"I know man. It's just probably hard for me to get over Festus." Leo sighed. Jason nodded.
"Hey, that wasn't your —"…But still he felt terrible.
Zeus and Hera felt Jason's guilt.
"Piper's right. It's going to take some time. I'm sorry man." Leo said.
"It's all right." Jason said with a smile.
Back in Medea's store…friend shouldn't say
"I said some stuff like that too." Leo pointed out. Jason sighed.
"But I said something worse. I'm fairly sure that what you said was something that I'd been told before." Jason said
"That's not right then." Will frowned
"Yeah, I mean Romans are trained to be leaders, you're not exactly always trying to be the star." Reyna said
"She's right. Don't stress it. We won't treat you special or anything. Just like all others." Percy grinned and made a huge wave which drenched only Jason. Everybody chuckled and Jason grinned at his cousin. Percy went and put his hand on Jason to dry him.
"Thanks guys." Jason smiled at everybody. Thalia nodded. Zeus had a slight grateful look on his face and didn't show it specifically to anybody.
Not to mention the fact…Leo with a sword.
"I should feel offended." Leo said
"Why is that?" Jason asked
"I mean I had a hammer too." Leo grinned. Jason chuckled.
"True." He said
If it hadn't been for Piper…she just couldn't cope with.
Aphrodite felt devastated and broken as that's what Piper was feeling in the book. She winced at the pain that Piper was feeling.
Piper sighed and grimaced.
"Jason, you don't know…we're doing great with that."
Piper, Leo and Jason sighed and grimaced.
Jason's first impression…yard lights outside
"Damnn." Hermes muttered
"Bigger than Boreas' penthouse? That's huge." Apollo said
A faint glow peeked through…stood a row of closed doors
"That's kind of odd but it might look good?" Annabeth said, looking analytic.
Where's the light switch?"…"What do we do — explore?"
"Not after the amount of traps that were outside." Katie shook her head.
"That's true. Who knows how many traps are inside?" Leo said
Leo shook his head…He hated being a demigod.
Everybody grimaced.
Looking around…ready to impale them
"A bit more positivity please?" Thalia winced.
"Sorry about that." Jason grimaced.
"Leo's right," he said…whoopee cushions on the sofas.
"Well, that's good." Triton said
Leo didn't seem in the mood…that was a good sign.
"I highly doubt that." Athena said "It does not look like a good sign." She said
Or maybe they were…of them tried to sit in it.
"Good move. You don't want to know what kind of traps are there for people who aren't the ones who sit there." Travis said
"There might be some kind of crazy and advanced sensors. Better off without experiencing the." Connor agreed.
The canary cages…better than to tear Jason apart.
Zeus scowled.
As for Coach Hedge…ninja goat mode.
There were a few snickers.
"Ninja goat mode? Yeah that's accurate, all right." Clarisse said, chuckling.
Despite how wired he felt…He was exhausted.
"That makes sense." Percy nodded.
"You need to get some rest. You can't always take the shifts." Thalia said
"They needed it." Jason sighed.
"Well now, so do you." Thalia sighed warily.
Piper had already curled…conversation about her dad.
"Probably avoiding a conversation." Piper sighed.
Jason and Leo exchanged looks.
Whatever Medea had meant…Jason feel even guiltier.
Zeus and Hera were overwhelmed with another layer of Jason's guilt.
"It's not your fault." Piper said
"Yeah. Sure." Jason said half heartedly
"No. Seriously. Not your fault." Piper said, looking concerned.
"Guess, I just don't like it that you have to choose. Then you are at such a position that your dad is trapped and we don't know what's going on." Jason sighed.
"I'll tell you this time around. Like you and Leo said. We'll save dad." Piper said. Leo and Jason gave small smiles to her and nodded.
And they were running…was the winter solstice
The gods paled.
"As if things weren't complicated already." Annabeth said. The quest trio nodded.
"Get some sleep,"…half the things you can do."
"Thanks man. It means a lot." Leo smiled at Jason. Hephaestus and Beckendorf smiled at Jason as well.
"It's not a lie. I mean I'm pretty sure that it would've been super cool to see you deactivate all the traps. And you saved my life multiple times and got us an awesome ride." Jason said.
Leo smiled at him.
"Anytime." He said.
Leo lowered his screwdriver…insult my ability to annoy.
The demigods laughed.
"Yep. We have to try really hard to be annoying." Connor grinned.
"Well the Easter bunny trick on our cabin definitely gave the two of you an 'A' for that skill." Katie said amusedly to Travis and Connor who grinned sheepishly at her.
"Easter bunny trick?" Demeter asked
"Yeah, they dumped a huge amount of chocolate on the roof of our cabin with some Easter bunnies in the middle of the night. We didn't find out till the morning." Katie said. Hermes whistled and high fived his kids. Demeter glared at him and Hermes grinned at her.
And how am I supposed…I'm supposed to resent you."
"Okay what? I mean, I never thought of it that way and that's a lot to think about and secondly, you're not a lowly mechanic." Jason said
"It's a joke. The 'lowly mechanic' part." Leo chuckled. Jason nodded.
"Lord of the Universe?"…"Shut up, Valdez."
Everybody burst out laughing.
"I am the eagle that soars." Percy rolled on the sand in laughter.
Jason shook his head. Thalia snickered as well. Nico was laughing too.
The gods were looking amused and some of them were laughing.
Once everybody, including himself, Poseidon continued.
Leo managed a little…"I apologize for apologizing."
Everybody chuckled at that.
"Thank you." Leo said to Jason.
"You're welcome." Jason snickered. Leo grinned and gave a nod.
"Thank you."…canary cage to California."
"Yeah, that'd be annoying and very difficult." Chris said
"You did fix Festus…the high point of his life."
Hephaestus nodded.
"Jason's right again." He said. Leo nodded.
"So Jason's always been this deep?" Nico teased
"Eh." Jason shrugged.
"Yeah, most probably." Percy grinned
"Oh come on now. You're as deep as me. Let's not even go there." Jason said
"Oh yeah, he definitely he is." Nico said. Percy grinned and so did Jason.
Jason was afraid he'd blown…without you organic life forms."
Hephaestus burst out laughing at that.
"Good one son." He said. Leo grinned at him.
"I feel offended." Jason said dramatically with a mock offended expression.
Jason wasn't quite sure…blissfully dreamless sleep.
Thalia and Zeus looked relieved that Jason finally got some sleep.
He only woke when the yelling started.
Then everybody's face clouded with worry again.
"Ahhhggggggh!"…was kind of unnecessary.
Clarisse gave a sigh of relief that Gleeson was finally released but winced at the fact that he was yelling and knowing Gleeson, she was fairly sure that he would try to smash things with his bat.
Gleeson Hedge was capering…charged at the throne.
"Oh gods." The demigods muttered.
"Coach!" Jason yelled…Jason put the thought aside.
"Yeah, you might not want to dwell on that for too long." Grover advised.
Jason nodded vigorously.
"You're the new kid,"…nest for a friendly hamster
Aphrodite and Silena grimaced while Piper grinned and snickered.
"Valdez, McLean,"… back to DEFCON 1 . "Die!"
"That is one violent and loud satyr." Rachel said
"He's a good protector." Clarisse defended him.
"I didn't say that he wasn't." Rachel said calmly.
"Cage? Cage? What's going…She's mortal. She's dead."
"Somehow, not anymore." Lee said
"Yeah, well," Leo said…meant to happen!
A few chuckles.
So, this is the witch's lair… to be woven of gold fiber.
"I am not liking that there is so much gold in this place." Hermes muttered
"Let's just hope that it's not him." Artemis sighed.
"Nice," Leo said…got so much security."
"Yeah, that's a lot of gold. That much security is starting to make sense though the traps were still insane." Dakota said
"Yeah, I think anybody would want to get that much security if they have that much gold inside their house." Pollux said
"This isn't —" Piper stammered…Hedge back into his cage
Clarisse glared at Jason.
A door opened at the far…come out here, please.
"His son's name is Lit?" Ares asked
"Probably a short form." Demeter said
"For what?" Dionysus asked
"My guys, Lityerses." Apollo said
"So you think that they're in Midas' mansion?" Aphrodite asked as she paled. Apollo, Artemis and Hermes nodded.
"The guy who could turn anybody into gold by just touching them?" Piper asked. Zeus nodded.
"So all those statues are people?" Leo asked with wide eyes.
"If it's Midas then yes." Apollo said
"I'm getting Medusa vibes again. Place filled with statues of stone." Grover shuddered.
Piper, Jason and Leo groaned as they listened to everybody.
Poseidon decided to continue.
There are strange people…his club and shouted, "Die!"
"Coach." The demigods groaned. Aphrodite, Hephaestus and Zeus weren't looking too pleased with the satyr either.
"I hope he doesn't get us into trouble." Piper frowned "With Midas and his son." She said.
"Chapter's done." Poseidon said
"Break time then." Aphrodite said.
