Ace is angry. No scratch that, Ace was fuming with anger and total fury. How could he, the second command of the Whitebeard pirates, lost a fight with a nakama killer and traitor Teach.
He was winning the battle but the bastard was a dirty player.
He looked around as his whole body was hurt from the fight.
"Jimbe?" Ace asked, unsure of the figure at the end of his cell
"Ace-kun, I'm glad your awake." Jimbe gave a small smile
"What are you doing here?"
"I refused to participate in the war against Whitebeared."
"Bold of them to think pops will come."
Jimbe frowned, "Do you really think that?"
Ace paused for a few minutes staring at his cellmate before answering, "…I don't, but I hope they'll not come." He looked away, "I hunted Teach against his orders."
Before Jimbe can say anything, the elevator opened and they can hear conversations as the people comes closer."
The jailer opened the door and escorted a feminine looking marine and shackles him a few feet away from him.
When the jailers left, Jimbe acknowledged him.
"Luffy-kun what are you doing here?" Jimbe asked, curious of why a marine officer is shackled between 2 pirates in the level 6 of impel down.
The boy, Luffy, looked at Jimbe and grinned as if he was not inside a jail and in sea-stone cuffs. "Eh Jimbe? What are you doing here?"
Jimbe sighs "I refused to participate in the war," he answered simply
"Eh, you too? Shishishishishi." Luffy laughed, smile not wavering
"What do you mean Luffy-kun?" Jimbe asked. Not participating in a war is bad in their record as a marine but not too bad to be sent to Impel Down.
Luffy shrugged "I'm more surprised that it took this long for them to throw me here. Shishishishishi. I know Seagull ossan and Sensei want to trow me here a long time ago for all the trouble I caused."
"What did you do?" Jimbe asked again
Luffy frowned, completely showing his displease "I refused to be part of the stupid war."
"Why?" Ace suddenly asked, speaking for the first time after the brat entered the cell. He was confused why would a marine refuse an order of his officials. He doesn't know him, so he wouldn't be the reason. Maybe a friend of pops?
Luffy turn his head at him in confusion "Who are you?"
Ace stared at the boy like he's stupid, "Ace."
Realization hits his face "Ohhhh you're the Ace." He grinned in wonder and stared at him making him feel uncomfortable "You're cute."
Jimbe choked on his own saliva while Ace blushed in embarrassment and annoyance.
"I'm not interested in boys." Ace almost yelled in embarrassment
Luffy tilted his head on the side in confusion "I don't understand."
Jimbe fake coughed to hide his shock, "I think Ace-kun means that he isn't interested in dating boys." He explained. Amusement seen on his face
Luffy looks back at him "But I'm a g-" but was cut off by a loud yell
"Aceeee!" The voice, a very familiar voice yelled draining all the blood from Ace's face.
"Shitty greezer." He shuddered as the the familiar large body stood outside of the cage.
"I told you to call me Grampa!" The voice yelled again as a large figure stopped in front of his cell. "I trained you to be a strong marine but then you run away and be a pirate." The voice roared again "Then you got your ass captured by a no name pirate!"
"Its not my fault that bastard play dirty!" Ace shouted back
"He's a pirate, he will always play dirty." Garp deadpan
"Not everyone is like that shitty geezer." Ace gritted his teeth in anger "He's a traitor!"
"Ah, so the report was true then." The man sighed and sat down where his face can be seen by everyone in the cell. The marine hero sighed again as he brush his hand on his hair "I never thought that he'll have a traitor among his 'sons'"
Ace snorted "One of the longest in the crew."
"This would not have happened if you just listened to me and become a marine!" Garp shouted again trying to change the subject
A tick mark appeared on Ace forehead in annoyance "I've told you from the start I'll be a pirate. It's your fault for not listening."
"Why you brat!" Garp yelled holding the metal of the cage to rip it open just to hit Ace
"It's rude to force anyone to be a marine, Grampa." Luffy's voice stopped Garp from destroying the cell
Garp looked beyond the cage and for the first time Ace saw his grandfather's look of horror. "Luffy…" he whispered, afraid that it the boy was real
"Nice seeing you Grampa." Luffy beamed smiling as bright as the sun itself
"What are you doing here, Luffy?" Garp almost whispered not breaking eye contact with the young marine
Luffy shrugged his smile not leaving his face, "Refused to fight the war."
"You don't have to really fight, just stand there and be present. That is all I was asking."
Luffy's smile didn't falter but his eyes showed sadness "You know why I can't do that."
"You don't have to stay. Just… just the start." Garp almost beg "Just show your face and leave."
Luffy's grin grew softer as he looked at Garp with sadness "You know Gramps why I can't do that. Doing that is like agreeing them that I should have never been born."
Ace snapped his head to looked at the boy in shock. He never knew someone else could be on the same boat as him.
"This was not what I was expecting when I dragged you here to be a marine." Garp said guilt shown in his face
Luffy laughed "You know Gramps that plan will never last." His grin grew wild and dangerous "You know 'they' wouldn't appreciate that. Shihihihihi."
Garp smiled softly staring at Luffy "You and your destructive friends." He roared in laughter "I never stood a chance between you and your dream eh."
Luffy nodded his head "Yeah, I never break a promise Gramps. You know that."
Garp laughed "Of course you don't" Garp then looked at Ace and smiled "Ace, I'm sorry if things happen this way. Maybe next time things will be different, will be more easier and happier." For the first time in his whole life Ace saw his shitty geezer cry "I wish I could have done more. I wish I could still do more."
Ace face soften in understanding. They are naturally enemies. This is the choice he made for his life and whatever happened he'll accept all the consequence fully. "You've done enough shitty gramps." And with that Garp tears fell faster
A few minutes of silence with Garp silently crying, he looked at Luffy "Are you sure about this Luffy?"
Luffy looked at him with determination "Of course! I would have sailed as a pirate if you didn't kidnapped me Grampa." Luffy laughed "Daddy was so pissed at you. Till now actually." He grinned
Garp snorted "Its his fault for not telling he has a child after all those years?"
"Well he was right in you forcing me to be a marine." Luffy laughed
"Atleast I was able to even for a few years." Garp laughed "So what are your plans now?"
Luffy shrugged "I don't know. Maybe I'll die here, maybe I won't." He grinned his wild smile as if challenging Garp "But I doubt my friends would like me dying here."
Garp roared in laughter again. "I'm assuming after this, you'll publicize yourself then?"
Luffy nodded his head in excitement "Yeah! I'm so excited!" He then pouted when he remembered something "But Nami manage to make me promise her to dress me up!"
Garp's face turned into excitement "Oh is this Nami, someone I should meet?"
Luffy tilted his head "Yeah! She's the best!"
"I'm still expecting little brats from you and this Nami then!" Garp announce earning a choking sounds from Jimbe and Ace who are listening to the whole conversation.
"What do you mean? I don't like Nami that way. She's my older sister." Luffy said tilting his head in confusion
"Well then maybe other girl then?" Garp asked hopeful
Luffy then looked at Ace which made Ace looked back in horror, "But I like Ace."
The glare Garp gave Ace was worse than all the fist of love he received. "Ace, I know you're a pirate but this is just too much." He warned the sweating Ace
"I am not interested in boys!" Ace yelled back
"But I'm a girl." Luffy answered but was not heard by anyone. Maybe if they just heard him-her declare that, they would not have this long stressful conversation. But alas, they didn't listen to Luffy even just for a bit.
"The moment I heard you're seducing sweet innocent Luffy, I will destroy you." Garp warned. Ace gulped while sweating bullets. This is the most serious threat he received from his Shitty Grampa.
It took a few seconds before Ace calmed himself, glance at Luffy who is still pouting, "As if I'll be interested in a brat." He snorted
Garp then glared back at Luffy "I want a great grandchildren in the future Luffy."
Luffy beamed hearing that, "Then I'll just wish for a baby with Ace then." Luffy nodded to himself pleased with his decision.
Ace glared at Luffy "Stop including me in your stupid plans!"
"Luffy you do know where babies come from, right?" Garp asked slowly
Luffy grinned again, "Makino said you'll wish from the shooting star then a bird will deliver the baby to you!"
"Oh dear Oda!" Garp exclaimed falling on the floor in defeat
"Luffy-kun, you don't still believe that do you?" Jumbe asked
Luffy looked at him like he's stupid, "Eh but Makino said so! Makino is smart so I know its true!"
"Idiot." Ace mumbled completely done with this topic
"I don't know what to do to you and your dense head Luffy!" Garp almost yelled when he recovered himself from the shock
Luffy laughed "You sound like Nami and Ussop!"
Luffy continue to laugh while all three of them stare at him in complete defeat
"Hey, Ace!" Luffy yelled trying to get the attention of the older boy
"Luffy stop bothering me." Ace said
"Why?" Luffy yelled "I'm bored and hungry!"
"You're here for a day and a half." Ace said "How can you be hungry?"
"They didn't let me finish my meal when they arrested me." Luffy pouted
"Luffy-kun what did you mean when you said going to war is like agreeing to them." Jimbe asked trying to stop Luffy from whining.
"Hmmmm, daddy is not the most likable person in the world." Luffy said nonchalantly
"Then why did you become a marine." Jimbe asked confused
"Grampa kidnap me when I was 10." Luffy pouted "I was on vacation with Makino nee-chan when suddenly Grampa appeared and claimed to be my Grampa. And before I know it I was on a marine ship going to headquarters. Daddy was so pissed when he found out, but then Gramps said he'll train me-"
Ace shuddered when he heard the word 'train'
"-but who would have known that training with Grampa almost killed me a lot of times." Luffy looked away and shuddered at the memory "I pretty sure I died a lot of times. Shihihihihi" luffy turned to Ace "How did you know Grampa?"
"I was adopted when I was a baby." Ace answered
"Adopted?" Luffy asked innocently "Then we aren't realated by blood?"
"No."
Luffy grinned his blinding smile "Great! Makino said I can't marry blood related family!"
Ace choked at the proclamation and looked at Luffy in disbelief
"Luffy-kun why do you want to marry Ace-kun?" Jimbe asked trying to help the young boy
"Because he's cool and nice!" Luffy answered
"You don't know me kid." Ace said
"Eh but you're Ace. Ace is Ace! I like Ace!"
Ace looked away blushing. Warm feeling suddenly enveloped his heart. He doesn't even know the kid but hearing him proclaim something so innocent gave warmth in his heart.
"I still don't like boys." Ace looked away still blushing madly
Jimbe just looked at the two amused. Never have he thought that someone could make the 22 year old 2nd division blush like a teenager.
"But I'm a gi-" luffy tried once again to clarify himself, but once again stopped but the sudden elevator sound
"Brat." A deep voice said as a huge figure stopped in front if their cell
"Sensei!" Luffy cheered as he saw the figure
"You know what refusing the marine will happen to you." Akainu said stairing at Luffy emotionless
"I know." Luffy smiled "But you know me sensei, I don't do things I don't believe in."
"No one will help you out this time." Akainu said "I accepted your background because you choose to be a marine. But after you stop being a marine I will hunt you down."
"Being alive means nothing if I can't be free." Luffy answered
"Even if freedom means death?"
Luffy grinned "Of course."
Akinu stared at him for a few second before nodding in understanding or in final farewell, "This is the last time I'll address you as a student. The next time we meet on sea are as enemies."
Luffy pouted, "Really?" He pouted in disappointment "I was planning to invite you to my wedding."
Akainu's lips twitch upward in amusement as he looked at his former student "Well, if that's the case, be sure to pick a strong partner. Because when that time comes I'll hunt both of you down." Luffy's only reply is to laugh.
After that proclamation, Akainu left and silence enveloped the whole cell for a few minutes.
"Hear that Ace, you need to train more so we'll survive our wedding when sensei attend."
"Why would you even want him in your wedding?" Ace yelled in annoyance.
"But he's sensei." Luffy said innocently "He acted like Daddy sometimes so I know he really likes me."
"That is not how it goes Luffy-kun." Jimbe answered
"Wait." Ace froze as soon as he understood why Luffy told him to train, "I never agree to marry you!" He shouted
Luffy looked at him in surprised with wide teary eyes. "But-" His lips are even trembling, he literally looked like an abandoned kicked puppy.
"Don't look at me like that!" Ace yelled glaring at him, but failing seeing how pitiful Luffy looks "I told you I'm not into boys." He looked away
"But I'm a gi-" For the 3rd time since this story is written, Luffy is stopped by a new voice
"Ace, long time no see yoi." A new voice said from outside their cell
Ace looked up the familiar voice "Marco! I didn't think I'll ever see you again."
"Thought we'll abandon you?" Marco glared frowning
"No." Ace whispered as tears suddenly fall from his eyes in relief, anger, embarrassment
"Hey pineapple head, why'd you made Ace cry?" Luffy shouted as soon as he saw Ace tears
"Luffy-kun, Marco is a nakama of Ace. It's fine." Jimbe said with a soft smile. This is a rare event in seeing Ace with emotion other than anger
Luffy looked at him "Whose Marco?"
Jimbe sweat dropped "Him." Jimbe sighed when Luffy was still staring at him weirdly "Pineapple head."
"Ohhhhh cool. Then Mango is nakama then?" Luffy asked laughing
Marco's eye twitched "Its Marco yoi." He said as he opened the cell and walked over Ace to free the boy
"Damn I forgot the relief without the seastone cuffs." Ace said as he stood up and stretched
"Idiot." Marco said as he walked towards Jimbe and freed him. After that he eyed the kid and looked back to Ace "Should we free the kid?"
Luffy looked at Marco and grinned "I'll be fine Mango. You're here to save Ace."
Ace raised an eyebrow "I thought you wanted to be a pirate?"
"Yeah! I'm gonna be the pirate king!" Luffy announced with total conviction that you will believe him even if he's in the most secured prison and in chains.
"How are you going to be the pirate king when you in jail yoi?" Marco asked amused at the boy
Luffy shrugged still grinning at the 3 of them "Eh, it'll work out in the end."
Ace grinned evilly "Didn't you say the shitty greezer kinapped you to be a marine?" Luffy nodded in confusion "How about I kidnapped you to be a pirate? T-then maybe my bounty will sky rocket." Ace suddenly added when Luffy smiled at him
"Shihihihihihi, okay!"
Ace carefully release Luffy from the seastone cuff while Marco and Jimbe watch the two bicker in amusement.
"Did I miss something?" Marco whispered to Jimbe
"A lot. You missed a lot." Jimbe replied
