After the phone call from Supergirl's sister, Kara insisted on going to the town-line and seeing her friends and family. Emma called her mother to inform her on everything that was going on while also asking if she could look after Henry for a little while longer. That didn't really go according to plan because Henry insisted that he tag along and say goodbye to his new favorite hero. While all of this was occurring, Regina transported herself to her vault to retrieve Kara's suit.

Emma was a little disappointed that Kara hid the suit beneath her clothes before they left the mansion. She wanted to see the hero in all her glory and hopefully erase the horrific scene still burned in her head from the first time she laid eyes on the battered hero.

"What's that?" Kara asks when she notices Regina snatching something up as they exit the tiny car Emma crammed them into.

"I'm not sure how this barrier works," Regina begins to explain. "I didn't cast this curse, so this is a scroll to ensure that we will be able to cross the town line again."

"You're coming with us?" Lena suspiciously asks.

"Kara wanted me to meet her sister," Regina shyly replies just as they near the town line.

"Oh my god, there she is. Alex!" Kara excitedly shouts like a puppy coming home for the first time.

"She can't hear you," Henry informs her. "We can see them, but they can't see us."

And then everything happens so fast. Kara dashes across the town line with super speed, barreling into a woman with short auburn hair, which soon enough Emma learns is the sister, Alex. Kara introduces them all to her friends, J'onn, Winn, James but then she falters for a moment, blinking at some bluish-green man that makes Emma jump a little. Lena steps in, introducing the alien named, Brainy, who apparently is from the future and helped track Supergirl down.

It's a little overwhelming. Emma is still shell-shocked every time a new fairytale character pops up out of the blue. No matter how many characters she has met or fought against, her mind still has a hard time accepting this new reality, so aliens and superheroes is another thing she has to train her brain to welcome. Unlike her son who has immediately adapted and gushing over Brainy.

"Thank you so much for healing my sister and taking such good care of her," Alex sighs in relief, her watery eyes bouncing between Emma and Regina. "But we really should be going, Reign is still out there."

"Who is Reign?" Regina very seriously investigates.

"The one who dumped me from the sky and left me to die," Kara bitterly retorts, folding her arms across her chest and producing a scowl that Emma is sure she never wants to be on the receiving end of.

Not even an hour of Kara having her memories back and Emma can see the stern superhero she is so glad she didn't piss off during her idiotic jealously episodes.

"We still aren't sure how to defeat her," J'onn adds on as if he's scared to even divulge this bit of information to Kara.

"I'm not sure how magic works on your Earth," Regina begins, "but I think it would be wise to study your craft on the way back to your planet, Lena."

"Craft?" Winn balks, whipping around comically to face Lena.

"According to these women, I have magic," she answers, very clearly expressing that she doesn't believe it just yet.

"You have magic?" James reiterates in a way that has Kara clenching her biceps even tighter while a crinkle develops between her brows.

Emma is familiar with that look. She smugly smirks to herself, she can already hear the jealousy train coming.

"Allegedly," Lena deadpans.

"It's not going to work if you keep denying it," Emma sighs, "take it from someone who has been there before."

"Lena, may I have a word?" Regina sternly asks, already stepping away from the group and expecting the other brunette to follow.

Lena glances at Kara first before her eyes land upon Emma who offers a tight nod. The woman straightens her posture, chin tilting up, oozing that Luthor power and control. She follows Regina, out of earshot and folds her arms across her chest to portray confidence. All of that demeanor vanishes though when Regina flicks her wrist, producing a cloud of purple smoke with a very old book in its wake.

"Emma was right, denying magic will get you nowhere." Regina grips the solid book between both hands, her knuckles losing all blood and stealing Lena's full attention. "Magic is emotion, dear. You have to really dig deep down and use your emotions to fuel your power."

Lena's blood runs cold, petrified by the idea of unburying such old wounds and using that trauma to fuel her magic. There is so much pain, so much heartache that she won't just fuel her magic, she'll burn everything to the damn ground.

"I-I can't, you don't-"

"You're scared, I can see the frightened little girl in your eyes." Lena pops her mouth open to argue but Regina holds up her palm, squeezing the life right out of her rebuttal. "I only know because I'm speaking from experience. I know that look because I have seen it one too many times staring back at me in the mirror."

Lena swallows, her voice barely escaping her trembling lips. "If I unleash those emotions, I-no, I could run the risk of hurting the ones I love. It's too much for me to control."

"I understand but your magic is what's going to save your loved ones," Regina argues as she thrusts the book against Lena's chest. "This was my mother's spell-book. I've marked some pages with simple spells that won't cause too much damage if you mess up. Practice your craft, Lena," she sternly states before pivoting on her heel and returning to the group.

Lena clenches the book abnormally tight, pinning it to her chest before she scurries in Regina's shadow.

When they return, Supergirl is giggling, shaking Henry's shoulder as she towers over him. "I'm going to miss you, kid. It was really fun getting to know you."

"I know you have to go back but it would be cool if you could hang around. Maybe one day you guys can come back to visit," he hopefully tosses out into the universe with his fingers crossed.

"Maybe one day." Kara shrugs, her grin dancing from ear to ear.

"We really should be going," Winn announces, inspiring his crew to say one last goodbye and climb back into their ship.

Lena lingers near the entryway, her eyes flicking back and forth between Emma and Regina. She lands upon Kara, her best friend, and it's something in the way she offers a crooked smile that settles Lena's anxious energy and encourages her to leave them all behind.

Emma slings an arm around her son's shoulder and leads him back to the car, granting Regina and Kara a private moment. Normally, the jealously train would be barreling through her right now but she knows Kara has Lena but most importantly, Supergirl is leaving their planet and she won't be seeing them again.

"I would offer a hug goodbye but I'm not one for public indecency," Regina dryly retorts, eliciting the cutest giggle to spill from Kara's beautiful smile.

"Screw that," Kara laughs, gripping Regina's coat and tugging the smaller woman flush against her solid frame. Regina stiffens for a moment, silently reiterating that she's not one for showing off her affection unless inebriated. Kara simply beams, wraps her arms around Regina's dainty waist and hugs her closer. "Thank you. Thank you for everything."

Reluctantly, mostly because Regina is very aware she will never see this woman again, she pulls her hands from her pockets, and snakes her arms around Kara's neck. She breathes in her comforting scent and buries her face into the warmth radiating from the blonde.

"Stay safe. Fight. Don't you dare roll over for Reign."

Kara chuckles, dipping her head to nuzzle against the crook of Regina's neck. "I'm going to miss you so much, I-"

"No need to say more, it will only make things more complicated. Now go," she firmly declares, pushing away from their hug but Kara can clearly hear the wobble in her voice.

Kara frowns, her fingers automatically moving to fiddle with her glasses. Regina takes a giant step back in an attempt to ease this pain but her heart only seems to ache all the more. Kara pivots, ready to make a break for it but then she whips around with super speed and crashes into Regina again, squeezing her one last time.

"Get your girl," Kara whispers in her ear before she presses a kiss to Regina's temple and dashes away.

Regina swallows hard, pleading with herself not to cry. She will not cry. She refuses to give the universe the satisfaction since it's so insistent on bringing such wonderful people into her life and snatching them away. She watches through blurry eyes as the ship slowly lifts off the ground and before she can even take her next breath it zips through the sky and is gone.

One lonely tear dribbles down her cheek.

XXXX

After Regina watched Supergirl leave Storybrooke, Emma suggested lunch at Granny's with their son to lighten the mood. Maybe she thought it would be a nice distraction or maybe she simply wanted life to get back to normal. Either way, Regina couldn't scrounge up the courage to face the diner yet, not when she just had breakfast with Kara there this morning.

So, their little family ended up back at the mansion. Emma helped Regina prepare some sandwiches and much to her surprise, she enjoyed their time together. Henry babbled on and on about superheroes and if they would ever encounter another one. He debated, with nobody but himself, about who he would want to bump into next. Regina smiled along, Emma maintained a depressing grin that resembled a frown but expressed love for their son but neither one said much.

It was after lunch when Henry asked if he could meet up with a friend and Emma was all too eager to shoo him out the door. When the door clicked shut, Emma pounced.

"Hey, can we talk?" She sheepishly inquires, anxious hands stuffed in the back pockets of her jeans.

"Of course," Regina flippantly answers, sweeping across the kitchen to finish cleaning up.

"Umm, maybe sit down and talk?"

Regina places the condiments in the refrigerator, then allows the door to close all on its own so she can inspect the jittery sheriff before her. Those green eyes are jumping from the ceiling to the floor, her clunky boots rocking from heel to toe. She's a beautiful mess.

"Right this way, Swan," she instructs, leading the way to her office.

The place where it all began; two strangers meeting in the night, a glass of apple cider each, the roaring fireplace behind them, an undeniable attraction despite the unfortunate turn of events. Regina shakes away that memory, she still loathes that time in her life when the Evil Queen consumed her every waking thought.

"Would you like a drink?" She offers, sashaying across the room as Emma hesitantly claims that exact same spot she did the very first night.

"Yeah, I think I would," Emma mumbles under her breath while her palms rub anxiously up and down her jean clad thighs.

"My cider or whiskey?"

"Your cider."

Regina nods, pours two hefty glasses full and joins the sheriff. Except this time, she doesn't claim the seat opposite of Emma upon a different couch. This time she sits on the same sofa, tucking her legs beneath her bottom as she leans into the back of the couch, offering her undivided attention.

In a haste, Emma swallows more than half of her drink. With a slightly shaky hand, she sets the tumbler down on the table and frantically rubs her thighs again.

"Emma," Regina gently coos, hoping to quell the anxiety eating away the Savior from within. "It's me, you know you can tell me anything."

Emma nods firmly, grips her knees and forces her gaze up to meet Regina's soft eyes. "I'm...I'm so sorry I've been..." the words shrivel up and die upon her tongue, so Regina easily swoops in.

"Jealous? Overbearing? Rude? An ass?"

Emma appears agitated for all of ten seconds before she exhales a small laugh through her nose. "Uh, yeah." She inhales sharply, the kind of breath that stings her lungs to distract herself from the pain that could come from the truth. "I've been dealing with, well that's not right," she mumbles under her breath. "I was avoiding how I truly felt because you were right, I was scared of rejection from my-Mary Margaret. So I lashed out and I really am sorry, Regina."

"No need for the apologies, I just hope you were able to come to terms with yourself-"

"I have," Emma cheerfully rushes on. "I...had a long talk with my mother last night."

"And..."

"And I can finally be who I am," she breathes a sigh of relief as all that pain, all that fear expunges from her body.

Regina slowly sips her cider, eyeing the small smirk tugging at the corner of Emma's pretty pout. "That's wonderful to hear, dear."

"I think it's only appropriate for my son's mother to know the whole truth, too," Emma admits, suddenly becoming painfully shy.

"Alright." Regina leans over her lap to place her drink on the table then offers her full attention. "Emma Swan, who are you?"

"Well, I'm just an orphan, a little lost girl that's been in serious denial about being bisexual."

Regina cracks a small smile. "I'm so very glad you finally admitted it."

Emma shuffles just a tad closer, provoking Regina's heart to trip unexpectedly in her chest. "But that's not why I asked to talk." Regina simply quirks up a perfect eyebrow. "What I've really been in denial about, is that I'm in love with my son's other mother," she reveals, barely a whisper.

Regina's heart this time completely skitters to a halt. Her eyes become frantic, searching every inch of Emma's face for deception and damn, she wishes she had Emma's lie detection superpower.

"Oh."

And maybe Emma should feel worried about that tiny, mundane word but a cocky smirk is sliding into place. "Have I finally rendered the sassy Mayor Mills speechless?"

"Oh please," she scoffs but they both know it's the lamest quip she could have produced. She swallows thickly, attempting to regain some composure. "Is your mother on her way to burn me at the stakes for corrupting you?"

Emma chuckles, swaying even closer until her nose is ghosting over Regina's. "No, I mean, I won't lie, she's not exactly thrilled because of your past with her but she's fine." She shrugs carelessly. "She's kind of the one who told me to stop moping and come talk to you like a grownup."

"A concept you are not familiar with."

Green eyes twinkle with mirth. "Not at all. Apparently, grownups don't eat cereal every morning, or grilled cheese for dinner, oh, and something about sitting properly on a chair? I don't know, I stopped paying attention," she husks as her lips drift even closer.

"You really are something else, Emma Swan."

"Regina?"

"Yes?"

"I'm sitting here, confessing my love to you, my lips just hovering over yours and you have yet to make a comment on where this is going..."

"Well, I did promise Henry that if love comes knocking on my door again, I would answer."

"Oh yeah," Emma breathlessly whispers.

Regina tentatively reaches in the space between them, her quivering hands gliding up those smooth cheeks as her glossy eyes hold Emma's unyielding attention.

"Yes, Miss Swan," she murmurs as her lips softly connect with the smile beaming back at her.

And it's nothing like she's ever felt before; her heart pounding with joy, her blood flushing with wild excitement, her soul submerging into a bubble bath of heavenly love. She felt comfort when kissing Kara. She felt attraction while kissing Robin. She felt lust with Maleficent. She felt giddy with Daniel. But never has she ever felt complete. The beaten and tortured little girl within smiles as every broken crack fills with unconditional love and warms her from head to toe.

Emma slowly breaks the kiss as though she's silently promising that she won't go far. "So...since I'm so emotionally stunted...does that kiss mean you feel the same?"

Regina grins, showing off all those pearly teeth while her thumbs sweep sweetly across blushing cheeks. "I have for quite some time now. It's about time you caught up."

Emma just shakes her head in return, amused, before she dives right back in for a passionate kiss. It's so slow at first, gradually asking permission, becoming acquainted for the first time. Except, there has been three years of denying attraction, three years of pent-up sexual desires that comes bubbling right back up to the surface, provoking their kiss to morph into a desperate need.

Neither one wants to relinquish control, both so desperately trying to ward off any moans tickling the back of their throat. They become heavy breaths, determined tongues and clashing teeth. But when Regina captures Emma's bottom lip, sucking her prisoner like she's demanding information, the Savior finally breaks.

Emma exhales a dirty moan while her hands move all on their own to grip Regina's hips and guide the brunette into her lap. Regina goes willingly, sliding her leg across Emma's lap until she's straddling two strong thighs. Emma immediately gets to work, blindly fumbling for the buttons on Regina's blouse, her lips never desisting. However, Regina is slowly pulling back, creating a pout around the sheriff's mouth. It's only for a moment though as she grips Emma's sweater and yanks it right off her body. And the smile she receives, convinces her to dive right back down while Emma peels the blouse away from her shoulders.

They don't seem to have time to admire or worship, it has been too long and torturous waiting for this moment. So right there, where they had their first conversation ever, is where they begin the next adventure of their lives.

A red bra is discarded from Emma's pale skin. A black lacy thing that Emma is actually very interested in, ends up being tossed across the room. Regina swiftly removes herself from Emma's lap as they both shrug away their bottoms. There, in the middle of the afternoon, in Regina's study, the mayor ends up on top of the sheriff; kissing her, guiding her through her first experience ever with a woman.

And Emma wonders how she ever survived without the warmth of Regina Mills.

XXXX

Emma squeezes her legs together, thrusting against nothing but the warm sheets as Regina's back arches off the mattress. She's stunning, absolutely breathtaking and Emma can't comprehend how they haven't been doing this the whole time.

Regina groans, deep and low, hopelessly trying to remain quiet. She threads her fingers through golden locks, urging Emma's talented tongue closer as she bucks against her slick mouth. Emma doesn't even realize the little noises escaping her own mouth and sending delicious vibrations against Regina's bundle of nerves.

When Regina produces a high pitch gasp that is completely out of character, Emma slithers her free hand up until its securely fastened over that sassy mouth. That seems to set Regina off, encouraging her to grind faster, yank harder on Emma's hair until she's crying out against a warm palm. Emma helps her ride out her orgasm until Regina is completely slumped against the mattress.

Emma wipes her mouth against her own bicep and then peppers kisses all the way up Regina's trembling body. And even though Emma has had multiple orgasms tonight, she could definitely go for another round after watching that dirty little show.

"Is there like a soundproofing spell?" Emma teases as her mouth softly connects with Regina's swollen lips.

Regina chuckles, cupping Emma's blushing cheeks and holding on tight as she kisses her thoroughly. "There is."

"We definitely need to take advantage of that. I don't want to break our kid."

"Noted," Regina hums happily while wet lips greet every inch of her neck and chest.

Regina sighs, peaceful, overjoyed, content with life. After their quickie in the study, they decided to get dressed in case Henry decided to come home. Emma eventually stayed for dinner, unable to keep the grin from her face, no matter how many times Henry asked why she was acting so weird. Regina remained calm and collective like always, only flashing flirtatious smirks when Henry was not paying attention.

After dinner, Emma suggested a movie and she finally had her first movie night with her family. Never in her life has she ever felt so full...so complete.

Well after Henry had retired to bed, Regina asked if Emma wanted to stay the night and well, she hasn't kept her hands to herself since. She took her time, memorizing, worshipping every bit of Regina Mills and the former queen matched her enthusiasm.

"Should we tell Henry right away? Or wait?" Emma asks, rolling onto her side to allow Regina more breathing room, but she can't move too far away, so her fingers explore Regina's heaving chest.

"I don't want him to get his hopes up," Regina admits to the ceiling, obviously avoiding eye contact.

"You think we won't last?" Emma murmurs because her lips are busy against a naked shoulder.

Very slowly, Regina cranes her neck and latches onto Emma's sparkling green eyes. "I think we both have terrible track records."

Emma laughs, nodding along before she gifts Regina's mouth a quick peck. "True, but that's because we were never together. All those relationships had to fail to bring us here."

Regina tries, she really tries to stop the smile stretching far into her cheeks but she can't help it. She shifts upon the warm sheets until she's on her side and runs her finger along Emma's jaw.

"I do love you, Emma. It's always been you."

"Good because I'm running out of ways to save you that subtly say, I'm in love with you."

Regina laughs, a full belly laugh that she's sure has never come from her mouth before. And Emma is grinning wildly back at her and all she can do is grip that woman's face and kiss her like it's her last chance.

"What about Supergirl?" Emma suddenly interrogates, her jealousy on full display for Regina to pick apart.

"Oh Emma, she was just trying to make you jealous so you would wake up and realize what you're missing," Regina easily answers, earning herself an embarrassed little groan in return.

"You're a brat." Emma quickly pulls this gorgeous woman flush against her body, intertwining their legs and holding her like a new villain might pop out of nowhere and steal her away. "I can't believe it's almost five in the morning. I've never stayed up all night laughing and talking-"

"And having sex," Regina smugly adds on, eliciting an adorable giggle. She presses her nose to Emma's and smiles. "Neither have I."

Emma just grins back at her, falling in love with the intimacy she never thought she would ever find. But of course, her phone begins to vibrate somewhere on the floor, shoved inside her jeans. They ignore it, sighing happily when it stops...that is until it starts all over again.

"Maybe you should-"

"No," Emma insists, squirming even closer.

"What if-"

"You're here, Henry's fast asleep down the hall, everyone else can wait. If they really need me, they will call my sheriff's phone, so until then-"

She spoke too soon.

An obnoxious ringing blares through the room, prompting both women to jump.

"I guess it's urgent," Regina sighs, rolling away to allow Emma the room she needs.

The sheriff huffs and puffs her annoyance, rolling toward the edge of the bed. She stretches, exposing her long back and Regina can't stop her fingers from tracing the angry red lines she left behind earlier.

"Yeah?" Emma bitterly answers the phone, her voice a little hoarse from all the activities and lack of sleep. "What? Okay, okay. I'll be right there, Rubes."

"Miss Lucas?" Regina whispers, massaging the tense muscles knotting in Emma's shoulders.

"Come on, we need to get down to the diner," is all Emma says before she rolls out of bed.
