Chapter 1
Ana Steele married her boyfriend Brad Sawyer when she was 18 years old. Ana and Brad had known each other since freshman year of high school. They started off as friends and hung out with mutual friends. Junior year, they both admitted to having feelings for one another and they decided to date. During their senior year, she lost her virginity to him. Brad, on the other hand, was not a virgin when they started dating. After one careless night, she ended up pregnant. Ana was terrified, she had to tell her father she was having a baby and that was something she never thought she had to do at the age of 17. She wanted to go to college and get a degree in English Literature; she didn't want to be a teenage mom. When she told Ray he was disappointed but stuck by her side none the less. Her mom, Carla, wasn't in the picture, she left them when she was ten and never looked back.
Brad proposed to her after graduation, but Ana had a feeling he did it only to please his parents but she had accepted anyway. His brother Luke was totally against them getting married. He to felt they were too young and shouldn't have to be pressured into it. He told his parents that they were not living in the olden days. He spoke to Brad and Ana one day and told them he didn't agree with his parents and they shouldn't be forced to marry if they weren't ready. He told them he was happy to be an uncle and would be there for them. He was joining the military, so he didn't stay long enough to be there for the wedding or the birth.
When Ana became a legal adult, Ray gave her a letter from her grandfather, Ray's dad. When she finished reading the letter, Ray handed her a folder. Inside was paperwork from a bank in Seattle. Inside the folder was a statement. It read $1,025,260.00 and Ana's mouth dropped. Ray explained that when his father died, he left Ana a trust fund. Throughout the years, he placed money into that same account. Ray had his own carpentry business and was doing exceptionally well. Ana was relieved that she had some money. She was able to get a place of their own, whether it be an apartment or a house.
She went to Seattle University to study literature while Brad worked at a hardware store until he was able to join the police academy to become a cop. He knew about the trust fund, but he also knew that was her money. He wasn't happy that she used that money to get their place, but they did need a place of their own for them and their children. After she gave birth to her babies, her dad and his new wife, Marisa, helped her watch them while she went to school and Brad was at work.
Her college years passed and Ana was finally a college graduate Brad was officially in the police academy and his training was only going to be six months long. After he finished his training, he went on to work for Seattle PD.
Jacob and Emma are now four years old and are in pre-school. The two were as thick as thieves. He was very protective of his sister, even though Emma was older than him by five minutes. Ana picked the kids up from her parents' house and they were going on and on about what they did while with their grandpa.
"Is daddy home, mommy?" Jacob asked.
"I don't know baby, let's go home to find out," Ana tells him.
"I miss daddy," Emma says.
They get to the house and it's quiet. He isn't home. She sighed and tells the kids to get go play while she makes dinner. She checks her phone and nothing. Not a missed called, not a single text. Where is he?
It is getting later, and the kids were to put to bed two hours ago. Now, she was in the living room waiting for her husband to come home. She saw the headlights of a car pull into the driveway. She waits for him to walk in to start the questioning.
"Where have you been? It's late. You have been coming home late these past couple of weeks."
"Ana, I'm tired. Don't start please. I'm going to shower and go to bed. I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow," he sighed while shaking his head. Ana watches him go down the hall and to the bedroom, then walks back out with his clothes in hand and goes into the bathroom and shuts the door. Walking into their room, she noticed his phone on the nightstand charging. She has never snooped through his phone before. She never had a reason to do it. She grabs the phone and unlocks it. What she found shocked her.
I had a great time tonight. I will contact you soon. Leila.
She covered her mouth while staring at the text. Brad was having an affair. It was the name who pissed her off even more. LEILA W. She was her co-worker at SIP. She put the phone down and sat on the edge of the bed. He walks in, bends down and tries to give her a kiss. She turns her head in disgust.
"What Ana?" he says, annoyed.
"Why? How could you do this to us?"
"What are you talking about?"
"How long Brad? How long have you been fucking her?"
"What are you going on about?" he says in confusion.
"Stop answering me with a question. Be a fucking man and tell me how long have you been fucking Leila?" She yells in his face.
"Ana, I'm sorry. It doesn't mean anything. Please, I swear I will end it," he pleads.
"It's too late. I want you to leave. Get out of my house!" she points to the door.
"Ana, think of the children."
"Fuck you, Brad. Did you think about them when you were with her? Get. Out." She wills herself to not cry. She watches him get a bag and pack some clothes and leaves. She noticed he didn't take his phone, so she grabs it.
"Wait. " He turns around quickly and has a smile on his face. "You forgot your phone," she throws it at him and slams the bedroom door. After a while she goes to bed and lays there thinking about what just happened. She knew that things have been a bit rocky between them. But to have an affair? Ana contemplated on what she planned to do next.
Christian Grey graduated from Harvard with a degree in business. His father gave him the money to begin his own company. One year later, after hard work a dedication, he was officially a millionaire. Even though he was a rich young man, he still liked to do things himself. He learned to cook and clean, but he still had to consider getting a housekeeper for his apartment. His dad told him look into getting a bodyguard. The richer he got, the more protection he needed. So, he had a couple of interviews done and only one really stood out to him. Jason Taylor. He was an ex-military soldier. He discharged from the army ten years ago and had been doing security since then. Christian has also been dating his college girlfriend for two years now. He had been focusing so much on his work that he began neglecting her. He never noticed the problem until one night she came home late and he asked her where she was. She said she was out with her friends and why would he care? She went to take a shower, and he heard her phone buzzing. He read the incoming text on her phone.
It was great seeing you again. I hope to hear from you soon. Brad.
She is cheating on me? He thought to himself. He put the phone down and went to his study. He stayed in his office the entire night, thinking of what he wanted to do next.
The next morning, he gathered all her stuff and had it by the door ready for her when she woke up.
"What are you doing? Where are you going now?" she asked.
"This isn't my stuff, it's yours. Maybe you should call Brad. He should come help you with your shit. I want you to leave my place and never come back," Christian tells her.
"What are you talking about, Christian? He is just a friend of mine. I'm not cheating on you, if that's what you're thinking," Leila says, almost in tears.
"It's exactly what I'm thinking, Leila. Do you think I am stupid? Now leave. I don't want to see you or your belongings here when I come home!" he shouts at her and he walks out of his apartment with Taylor right behind him. He got into the SUV and leaned back against the seat and sighs.
"She isn't worth it, Sir," Taylor says.
"I know Taylor. In some way, it is my fault she took comfort in another man's arms. I neglected her," he shrugged his shoulder.
"Sir, blaming yourself doesn't excuse her behavior," Taylor says. He was right. Leila fucked up. Christian had tried to give her everything she wanted and more. From this day forward, he will focus on his company. Women are going to have to on the back burner for now. When the time is right and GEH is where he wants it to be, he can try dating again. Now is not the right time.
A/N: So, what do you think? We know Christian and Ana will meet. I love them together. SO don't fear my friends. HEA for them. But what will happen when Brad and Leila find out our favorite people eventually meet?
