"Sh!" I chided Sam as I tried to help her up the stairs to her bedroom.
To say that Sam LaRusso had had a little too much to drink tonight at the beach party was an understatement. I knew she was only trying to impress me but I didn't know that she'd go this far.
She tripped almost falling down the stairs until I grasped hold of her and swung her into my arms.
"I'm flying!" she cried out happily flapping her arms and hitting me in the face in the process.
"You're going to wake your parents up," I whispered to her. "Do you want your mom and dad to see you like this?"
She shook her head giggling like a madwoman. "Have I told you that I love you, Tory?" she said, not bothering to lower her voice. "Because I do. I love you very much!"
"I love you too," I whispered, looking around to make sure that no other LaRusso had been woken up by her yelling at this time of night. "But I think that you need to get to bed."
"I think that I'm a little too drunk for that," she giggled once more, becoming much louder if that was even a possible thing to do. "But if you insist."
"Not like that," I said, sighing and shaking my head. What kind of person did my girlfriend think I was? I wasn't Kyler or one of the other guys who tried to hit on her before now. I was much more sensitive to her needs than that.
"But…."
"No buts. I'm taking you up to your room and getting you a glass of water and Tylenol and then I'm going home."
"But…."
"Sam, is that you?" her father's voice called from down the hall.
I mentally cursed and moved Sam into her room and bed before stepping back out into the hallway. I could see Mr. LaRusso walking down the hall in his pajamas. Which looked just like a ghi. I kind of knew he slept in that thing.
"Oh, Tory," he said, not sounding pleased to see his daughter's girlfriend coming out of her room at this time of night.
"I'm not going to stay long," I told him. "I just wanted to drop Sam off and make sure that she got to her room safely is all."
A crash sounded from inside the room followed by hysteric laughter. "It's alright," Sam called, trying to stop laughing. "I just fell over my own feet."
"She's…."
"Yeah," I said, looking at the ground guiltily. "I'll just grab her a drink of water and a Tylenol for tomorrow and I'll be on my way."
Mr. LaRusso shook his head and stared at his daughter's door. "I think it would feel much better if you stayed," he said, looking at me in a serious manner. "I don't think Sam should be alone in her condition, do you?"
"You're right," I said, knowing exactly what he was talking about. Sam was drunk as drunk could be. "I'm so sorry about this. I shouldn't have let her get this way."
Another crash was heard from within the room as Sam once more fell over her own feet. I gritted my teeth at the noise.
"Dad, what's going on?" Anthony called from his room across from Sam's.
"Nothing, buddy," Mr. LaRusso said, letting out a very parental sigh. "Go back to sleep, okay?"
There was no answer so we both must have assumed that Anthony had gone back to sleep. Mr. LaRusso turned back to me.
"You might want to stay here with Sam before she hurts herself," he said, moving towards the stairs. "I'll get the water and Tylenol and be right back."
"Okay," I said, moving towards the door. "Thank you, Mr. LaRusso."
I opened the door just in time to see Sam's arms flailing in the air as her feet tangled with each other. I raced over as she fell towards the ground just making it in time to catch her.
"Here," I said, setting her on her bed moving to get her nightclothes. This was going to be a rather long night.
I hope you all enjoyed My Drunk Girlfriend as much as I enjoyed writing it.
