Chapter 3

The Call to Adventure; Pt. 1

Point of View: 3rd …

Our four Heroes stood in the throne room, watching the King with earnestness.

King: Now, with you all assembled … Come, Future Heroes!

Quite some people entered the doors to the throne room, some in armor, some in robes.

Kawasumi: Who are they?

King: These are adventurers who have volunteered to help you on your journey. You will grow and strengthen your Legendary Weapons. But it is said that when the Weapons are near one another, they will cause opposition and impede each other's growth. As such, I want you to reside in separate parties henceforth.

Separate parties. This seemed like more of a command than anything else. Why would the weapons impede each other's growth? Seems like Hylia, or whoever's the god here made a severe flaw in their weapons.

King: These people should've already chosen who they wish to follow, it seems.

Each hero had gotten about a handful of party members. Kawasumi: Three; Kitamura: Four; Link: Five; and Iwatani: Zero … Okay, scratch that handful. Link gestured his hand over to the Shield Hero, looking for an answer.

Link: Eh?

Party Member 1: Oh no! I'm not getting anywhere near him.

Party Member 2: I mean, what can you expect with a shield?

Link could pity his fellow hero, with Iwatani causing an outburst trying to stop everyone from talking down about him.

Kitamura: It's just … The Shield is the job of the loser, right? The games I played were like that. Even though the Shield's defense is really high and only newcomers use them. And jobwise, they're on the verge of being discontinued. Besides, shields are "Protective Gear", not weapons. It just doesn't seem like you're on your way to being a hero, y'know?

All Link wanted to do was give Kitamura a piece of his mind. He got a few good steps in before being stopped by one of his party members. But then a voice was heard in the crowd.

?: I volunteer.

Link saw the speaker. An attractive red-headed girl around his age.

?: No matter the circumstances, a person traveling on his own is disheartening to see!

Well, it seemed that the Shield Hero would be able to make it after all. Now that everything was out of the way, Aultcray started to speak up.

King: With that out of the way, funds shall be distributed to the heroes each and every month. Use it however you wish. Now heroes … You may finally begin your journeys!

Later that Day …

1,000 Silvers was what they had. Link and his party had made it to a tavern of sorts. The older Party Member decided that some introductions would help build some trust between the party.

(Quick A/N: I'm making Link's Party more original rather than just a Copy-Paste of Ren's Party.)

Party Member #1: Alright! Now that we're all settled down, the name's Durmann. Renowned Miner, Blacksmith, and Professional Adventurer!

Durmann seemed to be an enthusiastic and somewhat loudmouthed individual, much like the Gorons of Links world. And coincidentally it seems like he had a similar look to them too.

Party Member #2: My name's Mikou. Used to be a bard before learning that the heroes were to be summoned. Now I'm looking forward to helping people with my rockin' water magic.

Mikou was around the age of the young Hylian, and had bluish-white, fishtail shaped hair; a look similar to the Male Zora.

Party Member #3: I am Leirrson. My father serves as a butler to the Royal Family, and I'm a Wizard-In-Training.

Leirrson was a young, about 12-year old girl with green, puffy hair on the sides of her head. Seems that the kingdom was really scraping the bottom of the barrel for some heroes.

Party Member #4: Heh! Finally my turn! They call me Stal. I specialize in a strange type of magic using masks. Just wait 'til you see it! Heheheh!

Stal was a few inches taller than Leirrson, and wore a mask looking much like the skull of a monster, with horns and fangs. With the first four getting their introductions out of the way, Mikou looked back.

Mikou: So, ya gonna introduce yourself, stranger? We're supposed to be your friends over here.

The rest of the party looked back at the fifth Party Member. He looked like your stereotypical moody teen, leaning on the wall, arms crossed, see what I'm getting at?

Party Member #5: Tch … Fine …

The Fifth came toward the party, grabbing a chair and faced his team.

Party Member #5: I'm Phiers. Greatsword Wielder. Calamity killed my parents. I want revenge …

The party got quiet for a moment as they looked at Phiers.

Stal: Soooooo … That got a bit dark.

Darman got up from the table, grabbing the hammer on his back.

Darman: So? We gonna go kill some monsters or what?!

Link had also got up from his seat with a grin on his face.

Link: Hah!
