It was immensely hot, Vulpix was doing just fine given he was an ice type, and Ninetales was also doing perfectly fine. They were both sitting in the car with the windows down, Ninetales had bit peeking out the window every now and then. Daniel had long since gotten out of his car and refueled his car. Now Ninetales was just waiting for his trainer to come out of the gas station itself. "I'm going to get you two some food," he said. Ninetales still couldn't help but look out the window in hopes that his trainer came back already. "So Ninetales, how long have you had your human?" Vulpix asked. "It's been about a day and a half? I kind of forgot. You know how it is with Pokemon like you and I, our sense of time is warped," Ninetales said. "I know, but if it's only been aabout a day, why are you so worried about him? That's not even enough time to know his name," Vulpix asked.

"I've never had a trainer before. I've been alive for how long? I like this guy though, he's pretty nice," Ninetales said. Vulpix shrugged before letting out a yawn. "I just wish this human would come back already. It's getting pretty boring, just sitting in this car, listening to whatever weird stuff he was listening to…" Vulpix got up and pawed at Ninetales. "Y'know, we can just sit here… or we can open the door and find your trainer," Vulpix said. "But he told us to wait here," Ninetales said. "You're already following that guy's orders? Didn't know Ninetales were that loyal," Vulpix said. When he saw that Ninetales didn't respond, Vukpix's ears flatten. "Listen, I get wanting to follow your trainer's orders. Heck, I'll probably want to if I spend enough time around him too. Just remember that a trainer is more than willing to abandon his Pokemon at a moment's notice."

Suddenly the back door opened and Daniel was holding a couple hotdogs. "C'mon guys, I know you two wanna stretch your legs, and I'm willing to bet you also want some food," Daniel said. Ninetales and Vulpix jumped out of the car, the smaller of the two went first, and was handed one of the hotdogs. Ninetales used his telekinesis to take the second hotdog from his trainer's hand before thinking of something. He wandered off of the 7-Eleven parking lot. "I… guess he just wanted food," Daniel shrugged. "Meh, if he doesn't wanna stick around…" Ninetales came back, the hotdog was gone, as he likely ate it, but had a piece of cardboard in his mouth. "What the heck are you doing with…" Ninetales jumped back into the car and opened the glove box.

After grabbing a marker, Ninetales stepped back out of the car and laid the cardboard on the ground. Daniel helped his Pokemon get the marker off and watched as a fox wrote on the cardboard. The mouth writing wasn't even close to being as neat as a human's hand, but Daniel could make out what it said. "You wanna know my name?" Daniel asked, and facepalm. "Oh right I never told you… anyhow, I'm Daniel," he said. Like somebody meeting a new person, he stuck his hand, and Ninetales placed his paw in it. Vulpix just watched as the two shook hand and paw for a couple seconds. "So I guess you also apparently know how to write in English, not very neatly, but you can," Daniel said.

Without another word, Daniel sat down beside Vulpix and placed a hand on the Pokemon's head. "So what were you doing alone on a country road?" Daniel asked. Vulpix simply remained quiet and focused on his food. The boy sighed as he watched as Ninetales ate the same hotdog he'd given it, which was odd since he could've sworn Ninetales had ate it. "I don't know how the hell I'm going to explain either of you two my friends, family, or even the police…" Daniel picked up Vulpix after noticing he was done eating. "I don't even got a clue as to what you guys eat, other than hotdogs, and I don't even know if I can take care of both of you," Daniel held Vulpix like he was handling a baby. "I guess I can live off of ramen for the rest of my life, save a little bit on food, maybe cancel my Nintendo Online subscription…" Daniel grinned.

"I guess I won't need to buy the new Pokemon Game now that I've got two actual pokemon…" Daniel laid the Vulpix in his lap. The fox didn't look very amused about being handled, but didn't snap or anything. He was well aware that Daniel was just trying to get him used to being touched and whatnot. Then came the petting, Vulpix couldn't describe how nice it felt. In a heartbeat, Vulpix began relaxing in his human's company. Every couple of seconds, Vulpix would readjust his positioning, which made Daniel chuckle. "Who'd know that a little fox, that's capable of freezing me to death, would be this cute," Daniel stood up. Lifting the little fox up with him. "Alright guys, let's get back on the road. If we see a store, we're gonna stop there so I can grab a bunch of pencils and a notebook. Then I can ask you both questions."

Vulpix suddenly didn't mind being settled in Daniel's lap in the driver's seat. Ninetales piled into the passenger seat, and was buckled in. "Alright Vulpix, just don't stick your paws on the steering wheel, alright?" The Fox Pokemon nodded, before laying his head down. Maybe humans weren't too bad of a thing to have around, maybe he'll come to love the hell out of his trainer, for now he was just going to play nice. Daniel had made it clear that he was going to be nice, so why not return it tenfold? Ninetales on the other hand, now found that attention that could've been given to him, was now being diverted to Vulpix. If only he had still been a Vulpix, then he'd get to lay in his trainer's lap when he drove. The fox contained his laughter, after going decades without ever wanting a human, he was sitting here hoping for his trainer's affection.

The car made a turn, which brought both Pokemon awake, Ninetales immediately lifted his gaze over the window, and Vulpix simply remained still. "Alright, I'm going into the store," Daniel handed Vulpix over to Ninetales. He then paid both pokemon a hug and a couple pats before getting out the door, and locking the car. He did leave the keys in the ignition, probably to keep the air conditioner going for his Pokemon. Ninetales groaned. "Why can't we come inside with him?" The fox laid his head on the window while Vulpix shrugged. "I don't know how humans work, it might be some rule. I've seen Pokemon walk into just about any building they'd like if they got a human with them. If it's to keep us from eating food that isn't ours, then humans are dumb. I am more than aware that I shouldn't steal a tomato from a grocery store," Vulpix leaned into his companion. "I want to go after him," Ninetales said, but didn't act. If Daniel could bring them inside, he would've right?

Daniel walked into the Walmart, people were rushing in. They rush out with cats full of food, water and canned goods. cart pushers struggled to keep up with the massive amount of people coming in and out. "What the fuck is going on?" Daniel asked. He then remembered that there were now creatures capable of burning entire forests to the in one fell swoop. Pokemon that were capable of ending the world in minutes. So people did what people did best; mass buy everything in stock, like the world is about to end. Somebody screamed and pointed at the sky outside just outside the door. Suddenly, a Pidgeotto landed on the ground, minding its own business. It didn't even do anything, but people were panicking even harder. The employee greeting people at the door didn't even seem phased by it; their job had prepared them for bullshit like this.

Pidgeotto hopped on up to one of the cart pushers while glaring. For a moment, the whole world was centered around this bird and this random walmart employee. The bird pecked the ground near him, and then started using its head to help get some of the carts in. The cart pusher didn't seem to care that a bird was stronger than he was, he looked relieved more than anything. "Hey!" A middle aged woman stepped forward with her hands on her hips. The poor employee then started getting berated for not doing anything about the Pokemon, who had completely pushed in a set of carts, and was thanked with a couple pats on the head. The cart pusher then said something Daniel couldn't hear over the crowd that were watching. "Hey Marge," the employee shouted. The greeter looked up. "Yeah Steven?"

"Get me a box of cookies from the bakery for me," the employee patted the bird on the head again. Pidgeotto seemingly liked the attention being paid to it, as it rubbed up against him. The bird had found itself a friend. Marge came through with a box of sugar cookies. "You better pay me back for this," the employee said, who reached out and petted Pidgeotto. Daniel simply smiled, he knew that at least of the Pokemon he knew of, there were a few that were supposed to be really friendly. Pidgeotto happily took his new friend's offering and followed the guy out to continue helping out his partner. Marge simply stood with a grin on her face, before going back to her post.

As Daniel walked through the store, people ducked and weaved passed each other trying to get what they need and to check out. Several isles were empty, mostly the bread, water, milk, and canned goods. "Man, people are acting like a massive blizzard is coming," Daniel said. To his relief, the arts and crafts isle was basicaly untouched. He grabbed a notebook and pack of pencils and then started heading towards the checkout. Daniel stopped to see, the lines were absolutely massive, even for self checkout, everyone was piled up for a long way away. "Goddammit. Shoulda just went to Micheals or something," Daniel sighed as he pulled out his phone.

"Daniel's taking too long," Ninetales sighed as he stared out the window. "You can open the car door right?" Ninetales nodded. "Then let's go find Daniel, it can't be that bad," Vulpix said. Ninetales' eyes snapped to a blue light on the dashboard, before going with what the other fox said. "Alright, let's find him," Ninetales said. He undid his seatbelt and opened the door.

"What the hell are those two doing?" Daniel watched on his phone as both of his Pokemon stepped opened the door, closed it, and a clicking sound was made. Ninetales had locked the car from the outside, and was now heading towards the store. What the hell's going to happen if they walk in the store? He doubted anybody would have a gun here, but what if somebody did? Daniel's ears met a sharp pain as people started yelling. "What the fuck are these things?" Ninetales and Vulpix likely got inside the store. "Why couldn't you two just stay in the car?" Daniel grumbled to himself as he stepped into self checkout.

Vulpix followed Ninetales through the crowd of people, both sniffing the ground for Daniel's scent. It wasn't very pleasant being in the crowd, their sensitive ears were being blasted with people screaming and yelling. Vulpix could audibly hear Ninetales whimper as his ears were bombarded with screaming, and he couldn't blame the Ninetales. What made things even more fun, were some people tried to kick at both foxes, Vulpix eventually just hopped on Ninetales' back, since if he were kicked, then it wouldn't end well. Ninetales could probably take a couple, but he definitely wouldn't be doing well. Ninetales picked up the pace. "I smell him!" The Vulpix clung on for dear life and Ninetales expertly ran through people's legs, and came to a stop. Daniel staring at them, with a bag in his hands.

"Guys…" Daniel knelt down and made sure neither of them were hurt. "Why didn't you stay in the car?" Ninetales barked a couple of times while people started surrounding him. Vulpix also barked a couple of times, in all seriousness, even he was starting to get concerned with how long Daniel was inside the store. "Guys, if I don't come out of a store, don't immediately assume I got killed by an armed robber," Daniel joked. "Hey!" A woman, who didn't seem to much older than Daniel approached and immediately tried kicking Vulpix. The little fox immediately jumped up into Daniel's arm for some sort of protection. "You didn't like me that much this morning," Daniel chuckled before glaring at the lady. "Why the actual fuck are you trying to kick a small animal?" The lady pointed a finger at him. "You realize those aren't animals right? They can kill you very easily!" The woman yelled.

Daniel sighed. "Ninetales, Vulpix," both Pokmeon looked up at him. "This is why I didn't want to bring you two inside here," the boy stood up. "C'mon you two, let's get out of here before shit gets worse," Daniel finished. Ninetales wanted to snap at the lady, but knew that his trainer knew best. Luckily for Daniel, a manager approached, and told Daniel that he was to be removed from the property. "If you're asking me, that lady started it, but this is just to keep this from going south." After being escorted out, the manager made it seem like she was pissed off, but it was mostly to just make it seem like Pokemon weren't allowed. The woman's jaw dropped when she saw a bird, that came up to a cart pusher's leg, was pushing along twenty carts like it was nothing. "I think I need some vacation days off."

Daniel sat down in his car and pulled out the notebook. "Alright Ninetales, Imma ask you and Vulpix a bunch of questions. You can then write down your answers, and we can go from there."
