if anybody's noticed, I deleted the original chapter 10 in exchange for this. I knew I could do better and what than what it once was. so this is the new chapter 10.

It's been almost a month since Pokemon came into the world, it hasn't been that long, but people are already adjusting to their newfound companions. Some seeked out companionship from these creatures, while others just stuck with the normal, everyday house cat or dog. Some have even noticed people that look a lot like characters from the Pokemon anime popping up and acting like them as well. Most just consider these people very dedicated cosplayers and nothing else. Laws around the world started popping up for owning Pokemon, such as adoption fees, licenses and more. Overall everything was just about normal now, the Pokemon so far hasn't heavily impacted any ecosystem they came into and were quite friendly.

Obviously there were a few pokemon that weren't super friendly, multiple stories on the news had shown how dangerous Pokemon such as Houndoom could be, with them mauling and eating people on occasion. The same went for Pyroar, Driftbloom and Gyrados. Any Fire Type for that matter were considered highly dangerous and were basically a sentient firearm. This is what Daniel was standing in line for; he wanted a license to be able to legally own Ninetales. Vulpix, with him being an Alolan Form, made him an Ice Type Pokemon. So keeping him was perfectly fine without a license, a small adoption fee was paid, and that was that. Ninetales needed to be registered, tagged, and then a license was needed for him. That was before adoption fees.

"Fucking hell," Daniel groaned as the line, which he was only five spots away from the desk, was finally coming to an end. Ninetales and Vulpix sat at his heels and were a lot more patient than their trainer. Both Pokemon were well aware of how long their life span was, so staying in line for a solid hour and a half felt like no time was being wasted at all. Dan, on the other hand, was bored out of his mind. "Next," the secretary said. "Finally!" Daniel walked around the desk with Ninetales by his side, who kept a confident smile on his face the whole time. Vulpix had his mouth open, not because he was happy to be here, but he was stressed out.

The little fox's experience with humans wasn't the brightest, apart from Daniel and Chris, he didn't want to see any humans at all. Hell, the only reason why he got used to Chris was because Dan was living with him, which meant he'd make a daily appearance in Vulpix's life. Vulpix only stuck with Daniel at first because he needed to stick with Ninetales, which was the only thing in this world he could recognize. So being in a whole room filled with people made him cry. "Are you sure you wanted to come now?" Ninetales asked. "I was, but not anymore. The waiting in line is kind of boring… and all the people," Vulpix whimpered when the secretary tried to pet him.

Ninetales kept a smile on his face as he pulled Vulpix closer to him. "Remember, I'm here for you," the fox hid his adopted kit under his tails. He looked up at Daniel who was seemingly taking a test on a sheet of paper. "Alright… Ninetales, do you know how to use Flamethrower?" he asked. The fox looked at his trainer like he was dumb, giving a knowing look to him, before going to groom Vulpix. Dan wrote down on the paper again and handed it to the secretary. "You'd think after school, that i'd be done with this shit," Daniel said. The secretary laughed. "No, you were greatly mistaken," she said. She looked over the test answers and nodded. She walked off and stuck it in the machine.

Moments later, the secretary walked over with a small card. "Good news, you've got a license for your Ninetales!" She said. Dan clenched his fist before holding it in front of his hand. "Fuck yeah!" Dan scratched the back of his head before getting up. "I'll register Ninetales for you. Now all you've got to do is get a tag for him, and a collar to hold it onto Ninetales. Just head down to Jess down there, and you'll be all set," the secretary said. "Thank you!" Daniel said. He plucked Vulpix out of Ninetales' graspe, which greatly annoyed the fox, and started walking on over to the tag booth.

"Look at that cosplay!" Jessie's eyes went black as she was blinded by a camera flash. "This had been happening for the last month," James sighed. The three Rocket Grunts had been warped into a weird world, Pokemon were still in it, but there were some weird extras. None of which seemed particularly strong which would greatly displease their boss if presented to him. "Of course she's loving the spotlight," Meowth said before sighing. "You should get into live streaming while acting as Jessie. You'd grow like crazy!" One of the fanboys said. "What's live streaming?" Jessie asked. "How in the hell do you not know what that is? Look, let me show you."

Shortly after being shown what twitch is, Jessie's eyes sparkled. "I could be popular!" She grabbed ahold of James and Meowth and started running off. "Jessie what are you doing?" James asked. "We were supposed to be followinn those twerps and now we're heading in the opposite direction of where they're heading!" Meowth said. "Shut up you two, I know an easy way for us to make loads of dough!" That caught both of her friends's ears. "Oooh, let's hear it!"

"Is everything set up, Meowth?" Jessie asked as she sat down in a chair. "Yup, we should be ready to get going!" Meowth gave as good of a thumbs up as he could without thumbs. "Jessie, are you sure that we aren't going to get tracked down for stealing all of this stuff?" James asked. "Do you care if we do? Like the police have done anything when we do significantly worse," Jessie said. "I know, but those guys had guns. Remember the last time we got shot at?" James asked. "No I don't. Now shut up!" Jessie hit the go live button and sighed. "Where the heck are all the viewers?" Jessie sighed as she lowered her head. "And to think you were popular," James said. "Hey! Your first viewer!" James said, pointing at the screen. "Oh hello!" Jessie couldn't describe her joy when the numbers started to skyrocket.

"And… Here is your tag!" Jess said, attaching it to a collar, and strapping it around Ninetales' neck. The Pokemon blinked a couple times at the new feeling, it wasn't tight or uncomfortable, it was just weird. Sure, he'll get used to it, but if Daniel needed to show ownership over him and Vulpix, then Pokeballs existed for a reason. They'd keep both Pokemon from being stolen, as after a certain distance, they'd be withdrawn to the safety of the Pokeballs automatically. Vulpix sighed. "I don't get why we have to go through all of this. We can just be caught and then people would know Daniel owns us," he said.

Ninetales shook his head. "Now, Daniel isn't doing this to claim ownership of us. I don't think he sees either you or I as property. In fact, I think he sees us as equals given how he deems both of us intelligent. Now, this could be another measure to make sure nobody tries to hurt us. Maybe he can't afford Pokeballs, so this is the next best option. Plus if we get found by another human, they will know where to bring us if we get lost; right back to Daniel's house," Ninetales said. "Plus you can't complain about the collars, you seemed to live yours when you got it. Just admit that it's merely just being in this place that makes you hate the experience," Ninetales added.

"You're probably right, I thought the collar looked nice on me, especially when I found out that Dan picked it out to match my fur. I… Maybe I just don't like humans, especially when there's a lot of them. Because now there isn't a whole lot stopping them from hurting me," Vulpix said. Ninetales sighed. "You're being held by Daniel, you're pretty much in the safest spot a Vulpix could be apart from with its mother. Right in in the arms of your trainer," Ninetales said. He quickly realized what he said. "Sorry about the…" Vulpix lifted his paw. "Don't apologize for that. I get what you're trying to say… you're right, even if I do wish my mom were here keeping me safe," Vulpix closed his eyes and laid his head aginst Daniel's chest.

Daniel plopped down in the driver's seat while Ninetales buckled himself in. "Finally, we can go home!" Dan sighed. "We got a whole day to kill though, so what do you guys think? Wanna head out to the park? Just stroll down the street from our apartment for a couple ours or what?" Ninetales shrugged and then gestured and Vulpix. "d'awe, look at that," Daniel said. The look on his face was similar to that of a proud parent. Vulpix was fast asleep in his arms, which still made his heart melt when it happened, and he couldn't help but smile. "Alright… we'll go home for a couple of hours, to let this precious little guy sleep, and then we'll head out on a walk. How does that sound?" Daniel asked. Ninetales nodded, before finally getting the seat belt strapped over his chest.

"Okay… that is all for today's livestream, see you all tomorrow!" Jessie waved at the camera before hitting the stop button. "That was surprising," James said. "What was? I'm popular!" Jessie squealed as she saw the stats of her streams. "Just the fact that you're popular… and the comments people were making on your appearance," James said. "So? People see beauty when they see it!" James looked at meowth before turning back to Jessie. "I guess I must be blind then," James yelped when he got hit over the head. "Watch your mouth!" Jessie yelled before going back to basking in her sudden, new passion. Meowth shrugged. "Just admit that you two are in love," he said. "Shut it!" Both James and Jessie yelled while the cat laughed.
