Author's notes: Ok chapter 2 is out, and I hope you enjoy it.
Chapter 2, 1.1
I looked on in awe, ignoring my wounds from the fight I had with Torr-Khan, from before I destroyed the generator. They didn't matter to me; I had lived through losing a leg and replacing it with a prosthetic leg. I lost the leg in a battle… that I would rather forget.
At that moment I took the moment to speak my mind, "It's been a long time since I've seen a sight like this… If only…" I breathed out that last part mourning the fact about the war that had ravaged the planet earth I hailed from.
In my awe, I noticed several other outliers about this earth, other than the angel orbiting around it. One of them being the lack of a satellite network or the trash orbiting the planet from satellite missions, well not really but it'd appeared as though there were less, But I wasn't sure. Another being the fact it wasn't ravaged by war, but that was clearly obvious to someone with at least a single braincell. Another was the fact that the ice caps were still on the poles, marking this sometime before the ocean tides grew due to environmental pollution that was still happening even before the war. But I noticed that this earth was getting noticeably closer, meaning that the station was on a crash course for the planet. That was not good for me, if it landed in the ocean, I would barely be able to escape from the station as it sunk to the bottom of the ocean. If it lands in a forested area, big explosion, no good, not safe for me nor the environment. So, I decided to jump ship, besides I'm not the captain of it.
In a hurry, I grabbed my energy axe, deactivated it, and folded it and put it in a safety compartment in my armor. I noticed that the station was starting to crumble apart as it drifted closer to the planet. Then I activated my grav boots and then I ran towards the nearest door.
As I spotted a door and ran towards it, the station continued to shake. When I finally got to the door, I put my hands between the slits of the sealed door, and I forced the door to open with all my strength. Another thing about these doors is the fact that they're made of titanium, which would make it hard for one to open them by force in the first place, but a bonus to being a Saurian is that we are stronger than humans in the first place.
Denting the door as I put all my strength into opening the door, and with all my strength, I pushed the doors to the side. And started to run towards the hangar. As I ran through the wrecked hallway, sometimes having to jump from time to time. I noticed the corpse of soldiers and civilians floating past me, I figured that they either died from the vacuum of the rift that the station got torn into, or they died by the hands of me and my squad… or what was left of the squad by that point.
Before we boarded the station, there were 12 of us… but when we reached the space station, we had lost 7 of our men and women. Solaren, Vrell, Tivor, Aldras, Opto, Besa, and Rez, all of which sacrificed themselves to guarantee the evacuation of their families, they knew the risks they took when we boarded the station, and they took it.
When we arrived, we had immediately lost another squad mate, Opal, to a missile to the chest… we didn't have the time to check if she was alive or not… she was a good friend to Lilly, and she and I were… somewhat close… I may have started to develop feelings for her. But, when she was taken out, I went into a rage state… and when I did the other surviving members would soon perish, without my guidance as the leader… I blame myself for their deaths… but now is not the time to mourn.
As I reached the hangar, and opened the door, this time much easier, I noticed something new… It was the fact that the station was about to enter the atmosphere and was on a direct course to crash into the ocean. Which would be more difficult for me to leave now… but if I jumped at just the right point in time, I could escape the station by just jumping.
Now don't start calling me crazy, but I did have a jet pack on my person, how else would I have gotten to the station. I was a part of the mission involved in a space infiltration mission, and I had been out fitted with a jet pack, capable of both space flight and atmospheric flight. Though the main problem was that it was damaged, and If I wasn't careful, I could pay for risking the chances of losing control of my flight and get sent flying without any control of my path.
When I saw my chance I ran towards the exit of the door of the hangar bay, and I remembered a quote from a superhero from a comic book hero from a movie, "it's a leap of faith." And I saw how my situation could fit that saying. My jet pack is damaged, space station is about to crash into the ocean, and I have no idea whether I'd survive the crash landing. So… I took my chances and jumped and activated my jetpack.
Sometime later, in midair, I noticed that my chances were given a terrible role, and my jetpack was noticeably on fire, I wasn't concerned about the fact that I was on fire, since Saurians were naturally fire resistant since some male saurians had the ability to breathe fire, well only one phenotype was capable of breathing fire, the others weren't able to. Anyway, I was on fire, and I wasn't concerned about that, what I was concerned about was that I was on a crash course for a city. I didn't recognize it, but it was noticeably better than the ruins of Detroit, or Berlin, or Paris or New York city. The thing was that I was nearing the east coast of the United States, and I had been all over the coast during the war, and last I remembered this city wasn't here last I checked. Another thing was I lost control of my flight course…
'Shit… welp… better roll over in order to make sure I land on top of my jetpack… this is not going to be fun… I can only hope for the best.' I thought to myself, before turning over. I was going to risk damaging my jetpack and it might take a while to repair.
Right before my crashing, I noticed that I was going to crash into a warehouse, and then I closed my eyes and braced for impact. I then felt a lot of pain before being knocked out for some time.
Authors Notes: and Claw just did something incredibly suicidal, and I hope you guy's and people and attack helicopters enjoyed this.
