When he couldn't hear his heart beats anymore, the protagonist of our tale found himself in a state of death and with that... Darkness. Well, at least i was right, there was not a bearded man up in the sky waiting for me. he thought and found joy in a victory that was soon replaced by an emptiness. It does sound deppressing when you realise of the infinite punishment of nothingness, which not only I, but probably all my deceased ones are cursed with too.
He was about to turn his toughts to the lost but memorable sound of music when his eyes foud light in the thinnest line farther from his reach. the line grew wider by second and after a moment he realised he was staring at... something. his vision was blurry and vague, nothing to see but shades of dark brown. Blind. better than maimed i guess.
"Aenyx?" his left ear heard a soft and gentle voice of a woman. he slowly turned his head towards the source and faced a blurry gold figure at first and then a blond woman staring at him.
With realising that his perhaps staring too much, spoke: "Wha-wha-what happend?" he then frowned at how he stammered.
The woman on the other hand, unable to control her tears of joy, threw herself to his arms. "Gods bless, you made it!"
Confusion filled his mind as he tried to process the thing the woman was crying about. "What are you talking about?" he asked with deperate yearn for knowing.
She puzzled for a moment when she said: "You fell ill my boy and you made it."
'My boy'? ugh not this. "Don't call me that woman. i'd knew if you birthed me." he said annoyed by her remark.
The woman baffled, she looked at the other side of the room. "Maester, what hell is upon Aenyx? why he talks like that?" she spat the last part which offended him greatly
The man she called 'Maester', Can't speak like a normal person, can you. wore a long brown robe and hung a chain of his neck. Terrible fasion choice. did i wake in one of those Renaissance freak shows?. "It seems the young Aenyx' illness contained a special side effect which resulted to his dizziness, but he should overcome this in the following days."
I'm pretty sure i'm fine old man. he came to conclusion that this 'Maester' annoys him too with his analyse without permission. "And what makes you competent of saying that?"
He looked at him with kind eyes and said: "Why because i'm a Maester young Aenyx." he answered like he was stating a fact.
"I don't know what should i gather of that word old man. for most part it seems like you're just mispronouncing 'Master' and its not even a reasonable one." and then he continued "And why you keep calling me 'Enix'? i cant remember signing for a make-believe escape room and as far as i know, they don't make up names for participants." he said trying to be sarcastic.
By now tears were forming in the woman's eyes "Aenyx my boy, what has come to you? can't you remember us?" she said horrified.
"Don't call me that." he remarked again which made her cry loudly.
"There is no need for crying Mertha, as i said Aenyx is overwhelmed with his illness and probably will act like this for a few days but he will be fine." the 'Maester' tried to meditate.
"Alright old man you seem like a doctor, thought i doubt it firmly. what amount of payment did you demand from this woman for doing basically nothing?"
The 'Maester' and the wom-Mertha, he called her, Mertha, can't you have a normal sounding word around here you weirdos?, hesitated for a moment and starred at each other then he spoke: "The payment, Aenyx is... not appropriate for your young ears." he siad embarrassedly.
The implication made him uncomfortable. "Suddenly i don't want to hear it anymore." he said while trying to find something to talk about.
The 'Maester' got up from his chair "Right then it's time for me to go," he then looked at Mertha "Remember Mertha don't pressure him much and know he will come to himself in a few days."
Mertha while sobbing said: "Alright Maester, my thanks for your help."
"'Twas nothing really" he said while he left the house.
Mertha looked back at him, a smile appeared and said: "I'm so very glad you are awake my boy, despite your... unfortunate dizziness, but glad all the same. all the women in the village doubted you would make it but i knew, from bottom of my heart i knew you will awake. you're Valyrian my boy. you can't die by petty diseases." she said proudly.
I'm getting lost here. "What's 'Valyrian' Mertha?" he siad tiredly.
Mertha's eyes went wide. "Valyrian. they're Valyrian of Valyria as you are. everything special is Valyrain."
"Does it mean anything though?"
"I don't uderstand your question Aenyx. Valyrians are Valyrians. everyone know that. it's the only thing that we were taught. Valyrians are of Valyria and they are Valyrians. you are Valyrian too."
"You're just gonna keep saying the made-up word 'Valyrian' over and over again without any explanation?"
"I.." Mertha hesitated for a moment, then, she stood and went over a desk and pull out something. then she turned and he saw a shining dagger in her hand. She's not gonna sacrifice me, right? the doubt proved heavy as he became nervouse by her every move towards him. But Mertha offered him the dagger. "Look at this Aenyx, this is a Valyrian dagger."
He looked at dagger then back at her. "So the dagger is Valyrian now?"
"Of course the dagger is Valyrian. like every other Valyrian steel. this the bones and remains of long lost Valyria" she answered as if she was stating a known fact.
"I wish you could provide me with literally any explanation. i don't understand any of this and i've never been more confused in my entire life. intially i thought you were gonna sacrifice me and at this point i would just love to die."
Just as she was about to answer, the door knocked. Mertha opened the door and came through it four man wearing armour with one more distinguished clearly showing the commander. "Is this a Renaissance fair? because i prefer the Scarborough one." he, what a clever joke i made.
The men exchange confused looks at each other as Mertha talked nervously: "Forgive my son. his a little bit... dizzy."
"Again don't call me that."
His last remark apparently was unheard as the commander began to speak: "Alright then. greetings in order, my name is Donatyon Selvy. my men and i were tasked to find one Aenyx Waters..."
"Well good luck then. too bad we don't have any of that."
"Hush Aenyx." Mertha hissed
"As i was saying. we were searching for Aenyx Waters and the villagers pointed towards your house thus we came here to by the decree of King Aegon the..."
"Oh we have a king now, and his name is Aygon? i'm completely lost." again he interfered.
"Aenyx silence."
Selvy sighed and continued: "The point is, King Aegon has summoned all of his children to King's Landing. it seems he's unwell and wants to have his farewells with his blood."
Mertha was shocked: "Aeg-King Aegon? but i thought..." she turned back "Aenyx, do you understand this my son?"
"As i said i'm completely lost and this increases with every word you say."
"The King, your father, has summoned you to King's Landing." Mertha said
"The King is my father? Great i guess? i feel nothing really."
Suddenly, Mertha hugged him tightly. "Oh my son, you have a bright future." and then she was sobbing where does these tears produce? "Your life will change for the better. you will have a place in the Royal court, you will be happy, you will understand the joys of life!"
"I truly do not understand anything. i'm feeling so lost now that this all seems like a bottomless pit of crazedness."
Mertha somehow tightened the hugg. "My son, a true Valyrian in the Palace of Valyrians." she whispered.
"Oh what is that word? what is it?" he asked knowing he will not find an answer.
Mertha not caring of his words, continued: "Your life will be amazing."
"Will it though? i don't know anything anymore, i feel completely insane, i've lost my sanity, it's gone."
But she did not answer, instead left the hugg and began the packing while Selvy and his men went to wait outside.
