The brown haired girl sat on a rock in a nearby stream alone, the sounds of the wind playing with the leaves, the rushing sounds of the waterfall behind her crashing into the stream her only company as her mind floated to the recent training matches she had participated in. The training matches had been against members of her own team each one wanting to get stronger and curious to why the brunette seemed so determined to train, first up had been the perverted blonde one of her best friends Katsuragi, her speed and leg strength was something to behold she had been in the zone that day as their weapons had clashed but it had ended in a time limit draw, neither girl had been able to land an ending blow.
Next up was the always bubbly and energetic pink haired girl Hibari, she had always felt she was holding the team back and had demanded the training match against her, the two girl's had gone all out but Hibari's lack of confidence in her own strength had cost her the match, she had felt downhearted but still kept her smile promising to do better next time.
Next up was the silver haired girl Yagyū, after seeing her closest friend defeated so easily she had felt responsible to make up for the loss, she had brought a fight the girl had never seen her bring before lasting the time limit of the match, she had felt disappointed as to not being able to avenge her friend's loss but the pink haired girl had hugged her tight and told her not to worry.
Next up the cool and collected class president Ikaruga, her skills with a sword where the best in all of Hanzō academy, her determination to win had made it hard for the brunette being pushed to her limit but managing to last the full time limit, after the fights had been decided the question on her friend's minds finally came to light.
"Asuka, what's this all about?" they had asked in unison. She had pondered her answer before she had given it, they had all looked on in shock when the truth had come out.
"I had a dream" she had said "I was standing across from an opponent I hadn't expected an opponent I couldn't beat but then I realised. It was never a fight It was something more, the opponent was me and I realised that my dream was a premonition, there was a power I could obtain but I need to train harder to get there".

Asuka's eyes opened as she looked up toward the now darkened sky, she slowly got to her feet as she headed back to her dormitory room hoping she could sleep the night and not see that dream again. When she returned to the dormitory of the Hanzō elite class she found the common room empty, she slowly made her way to her room as she slipped in changing out of her school uniform into a white shirt and white pyjama pants before slipping into her soft bed.
She laid her head on the pillow as she stared at the dark ceiling of her room, she had only told her friends half of the reason she was so determined to train to get stronger, there was someone she wanted to surpass only then could she tell them what she wanted to.
She had always admired those with strength, her grandmother and grandfather, her parents even her rivals and friends, strength they had she wanted to match but this was different. This was more than mere admiration, it had started that way but then it changed and grew to something more after their first meeting, their first fight her classmates had been there backing her up but even with numbers they had failed.
She had returned to that place a few days later and challenged the solitary fighter again, the fight had ended much like the first in her crushing defeat but she hadn't stopped there, she had returned again and again each time doing a little better but never being able to finish the job. After every loss she had learned something knew about the fight and her own feelings, she hadn't realised it at first but admiration for the fighter's strength had slowly turned to something stronger.
It wasn't until her last visit that she had realised what was truly going on, the real reason she returned each and every time the fight had just been an excuse to visit but what she truly looked forward to was the aftermath, she had thought the fighter would have gotten bored of her before long but she could feel it. This person enjoyed the visit's as much as Asuka did, after every fight they sat and talked allowing Asuka to recover her strength and stamina for the journey back to the dormitory.
"You grow stronger every time" the fighter had told her after their last bout "Soon you may be able to land a meaningful blow". The comment had been small and meaningless to others but it had put a smile on the brunette's face, they had talked for a while before Asuka left, her journey back had been one that filled her heart with a pang of pain she'd looked back to the place the two always faced off as she realised it.
The power that she had felt in her dream was what she needed to finally accomplish her goal, she wanted to beat the fighter one way other the other so she could finally say it. Say the words that filled her heart and mind when she saw that raven hair, the solitary stance of the woman who was out of reach.
Only when she could surpass her would she have the confidence to look her opponent in the eyes and say it, say it proud with all the conviction in her being.
I love you, Daidōji.
So here we are at the beginning of a young girl's pursuit of love and power, a bit of a strange ship but anyone who has read some of my other fanfictions will know I don't do the normal stuff. The main ship will end up as Asuka X Daidōji but there will be some unexpected ships thrown in and if you like the unexpected ships I throw in then please let me know which ones and I'll consider doing a fanfiction based on it
Anyway thank you for reading and I hope to see you in chapter two, when that will be uploaded I'm not sure because I have a few others on going that I'd like to finish at least one of so i will be working on this periodically but I assure you it will be worth the wait
