"Truman!"
Truman turned around instantly.
He looked around to see who had spoken his name, but there was no one there. Just a vast scape of blue sea underneath a fake sky, in which he had just crashed his boat into.
"You can speak!" Said the voice agian. Truman looked up, the voice was coming from up above. "I can hear you!" The voice boomed loudly.
Truman was startled. About an hour ago, he had made a clean escape from sea haven, nearly drowned at sea. And now, he was speaking to a loud voice from the sky.
"Who are you?" asked truman. "I am the creator, of a television show that gives hope and joy and inspiration to millions!"
Truman was shocked. "Then who am I?" He asked.
"You're the star!"
"Was nothing real?" Truman asked. "You were real!" Said the voice. "that's what made you so good to watch!"
Truman turned towards the exit, But was stopped by the voice.
"Listen to me Truman!" It said. "there's no more truth out there than there is in the world I created for you. The same lies, the same deciept. But in my world, you have nothing to fear!"
Truman was furious at those words. Nothing to fear? They just tried to drown him for heavens sake.
"I know you better than you know yourself!"
Truman couldn't take all this in.
"You've never had a camera in my head!" He Yelled.
"You're afraid. That's why you can't leave!"
Truman couldn't comprehend if all this was really happening to him.
"It's okay, truman!" Said the voice. "I have been watching you your whole life. I was watching you when you were born. I was watching when you took your first steps. I've watched you on your first day of school. The episode when you lost your first tooth!"
The voice chuckled. "you can't leave truman, you belong here. With me!"
Truman said nothing.
"Talk to me!" Said the voice. "say something!"
But Truman couldn't, as he was still struggling to understand who he really was.
"Well say something goddamnit, you're on television! You're live to the whole world!"
Truman was thrilled when heard that. He was stunned to realise that millions of people across the world, possibly including Sylvia, were watching him, right now at this very moment.
He looked up at the sky. He couldn't decide what to say. A rush of emotions flew through him so quickly that it felt like he couldn't feel anything.
Finally, he knew what to say.
"Incase I don't see ya. Good afternoon, good evening. and good night."
He chuckled, Then He took a bow. He Took one last look at the sea, turned towards the exit, and left his world behind.
