After Many Dates: Danny and April
Dating Phantom
It all started weeks ago.
She had heard a lot of kids at her school were doing it, so it sounded cool.
Still, she had to ask for an opinion, so she went to someone she trusted this information to.
"What do you think, Master Splinter?" April asked.
Master Splinter, Hamato Yoshi, only stared at her incredulously.
"April, why do you ask for my advice on this? Why not your father?" Splinter asked.
"Well… two reasons." April said. "One, he'd never let me out of the house if I signed up for this."
"That is true…" The mutant rat admitted.
He knew how overprotective Mr. O'Neil can be at times. April continued.
"And two… because I need someone who is a lot more… wise. No offense to my dad but he's not the brightest bulb when it comes to dating. Apparently, he only met my mom in college because they were classmates, and he accidentally dented her car." April admitted.
Splinter did not have a proper response to that, but still looked at the flier April brought with her.
"Hmm…" He said, stroking his beard.
There was a long pause.
"Well, what do you think?" April asked.
After a long pause, Splinter smiled.
"Finding romance is like life itself, one does not always know where the path leads, but they must remain vigilant." Splinter said. "You are a smart girl, April. I trust you will make the right choice if you do this. Perhaps this is the way you will meet that special someone, as I once met Tang Shen." He said.
April smiled and bowed respectfully.
"Thank you, Master Splinter." She said to her sensei.
Splinter nodded his head and she turned around, heading to the doorway.
Once she went through, Splinter straightened himself and looked to his bedroom.
"Donatello…" He said sternly.
The tallest and lankiest of his sons slid the door open, revealing a very sheepish looking Donatello there, grinning innocently.
"Hai, sensei…" He said.
Splinter, with his ninja speed, reached his son and pinched him in the area where his ear would be, still making Donatello flinch since he still hears from that spot.
"What exactly were you doing in there?" Splinter asked.
"Oh… y'know just… wondering if I should clean your sheets?" Donnie asked.
Splinter frowned, not buying it one bit.
"I had already washed my sheets yesterday." Splinter said to his son.
"I mean… fluff your pillow. Or, maybe... check if you need… scented candles to- you're not buying any of this… are you?" Donatello asked.
"My son…" He said, sounding unpleased.
"Y-Yes, sensei?" Donnie asked.
"10… no, 30 backflips, now!" Splinter ordered.
Donnie groaned.
Here she was, at the stand outside of Murakami's, where it read the logo and slogan of the website that she couldn't help but find a bit hokey.
You + Me = LOVE!
We will find your perfect match or your money back guaranteed!
"Not the most interesting name for a website…" She admitted.
"Maybe not, Red." A familiar voice spoke.
April saw who stood behind her in the line. It was a certain hockey playing vigilante with a gap in his teeth.
"Casey? What are you doing here?" She asked.
"Here's a hint." Casey held up the paper in his hand. "Unless you want to skip trying and grab a bite together?" He asked with a wink.
April only shook her head and smiled in amusement in his attempt at flirting.
"Next!" A man's voice went.
"That's me." April said as she left Casey and approached the man at the stand, seeing his nametag. "Hello… Neo."
"Yeah…" He said. "So… papers, please?" He asked, sounding a bit tired.
April rose an eyebrow at his tone.
"Uh… you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah… just… fifth time so far… I should probably stop." He said.
"Huh?"
"Nevermind… overworking. Anyway, sorry about that. May I see your papers?" He asked.
April shrugged and handed them to him.
"There ya go."
Neo read the papers and noticed something.
"You definitely know the kind of guy you want." He said.
"Yeah… I worked hard on this last night." April said.
"I'm gonna need an alias you wanna go by." He responded.
"Huh… what should I call myself?" April thought out loud, pondering. "Ninja Girl? Fan Girl? Yellow-"
"You know there's a line behind you, right?" Neo asked.
April remembered the line and chuckled sheepishly.
"Right… I guess April O works…" She said.
"Got it. We'll send you your first date via e-mail soon. Keep an eye out." Neo said. "Next!"
It was weeks later and April was checking her laptop in the lair.
She could recall her first date being with some guy named Peter Parker, a fellow New Yorker. He was nice, but she wasn't so sure yet. She also recalled a recent date with someone named Ben Tennyson, an okay guy but not really catching her interest.
Now it was date 16.
She arrived ater coming back from dating Ron Stoppable, a nice guy, but a bit immature. Plus, she's not so crazy for his choice of where he eats all the time when he admits that he's Bueno Nacho's number one customer. She put that aside as she was looking up her next date.
"Let's see…" She said as she read it.

Hmm… not a bad description. April thought.
April took notice of where she's going to meet this boy, it was going to be at a local pizza joint. Looking at her T-Phone, she smiled.
"Dad's gonna be out for hours tomorrow. I guess this means I should be free." April said. Nodding, she got up. "I guess I better make a good impression on this boy."
Splinter opened the door to the dojo, stepped out and took notice of her presence.
"April, are you ready?" He asked.
"Coming, Sensei." April headed towards the dojo.
Once she was gone, Donatello came out of hiding and looked at her laptop.
''What's this?" The ninja turtle asked.
He read it. He realized this was April's next date.
This is the next boy, isn't it?
With a frown, he read the description of who her date was and made a gagging sound.
"This guy sounds so wrong for her…" He said.
"What are you doing, Donnie?" A younger voice asked from behind him.
Standing up quickly, catching the laptop so it didn't break, Donnie cleared his throat and turned around to speak to his brother, Michelangelo.
"Nothing, Mikey… I was just about to… put April's laptop on standby." He lied.
He was hoping his little brother would buy it.
Unfortunately for him, Mikey, for all his childish impulsiveness, isn't as dumb as Donnie thinks.
"So… where were you last night?" Mikey asked.
Donatello froze up.
"Oh… uh… I was… looking for… new parts for fixing Metalhead…" He lied.
Once again, he was hoping his little brother would buy it.
Mikey stared at his brother a moment, studying the nervous look on his face before Mikey smiled.
"Ha! Even I know they don't sell robot parts at the sushi joint April was at last night!"
Donnie rolled his eyes.
"It was some Tex-Mex place called Bueno Nacho, Mikey." The tech-loving Turtle said, not realizing he gave himself away.
Once those words left his mouth, he slapped both hands on his face to shut himself up.
Mikey crosses his arms and shook his head disapprovingly.
"Dude… not cool." The youngest Turtle said in a rare mature tone.
Donnie groaned.
"Come on, Mikey… I was… looking out for April. I mean, who is to say that guy wasn't a member of the Foot or something?" Donnie asked.
"Dude… maybe you should just accept April sees us as just friends…" Mikey said.
Donnie frowned and turned away.
"Well, I'm glad you all think she's just a friend…" He said. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to my lab…"
He still refused to see his little brothers point.
Once Donnie left, Mikey looked to the laptop and took notice of where the e-mail says the date will be.
"I better let Leo and Raph know… again." Mikey said, as this was not the first time Donnie was getting himself involved, but now he had proof Donnie was spying on April's dates.
And this time, he knew where it will be ahead of time.
It was the following day and April was on her way to the pizza place, where she was meeting her blind date.
She took a breath and rotated her shoulders to loosen up.
It is kind of funny, she has faced aliens, cyborgs and ninjas without hesitation but this is making her nervous.
"Okay… here we go…" She said under her breath, heading to the pizza place where she was to meet her date.
Unaware that a certain turtle was observing from above.
"Let's see just what a loser this D-Fenton guy is…" Donnie said, careful to avoid detection.
"You're serious, Mikey?" Raphael asked.
It was around the same time April left that Mikey chose to confront Leo and Raph about what Donnie has been up to.
"I'm telling ya, he's been stalking her dates. Last night I fooled him into admitting it. I know where April is meeting this Fenton guy and Donnie's planning on stalking them." Mikey said.
Both his older brothers shook their heads in shame. Mikey even saw his brothers groan in exasperation too.
"I was really hoping Donnie wouldn't go that far…" Leo said.
"We're supposed to looking for all the mutagen and hunting down the Kraang… the sciency parts are where we need him!" Raph shouted.
"It's all fun and games to make fun of him for how hopeless he is with April, but this is too much..." Mikey said.
"Come on, let's go keep Donnie from making a bigger fool of himself than Mikey…" Leo said as he led his brothers to deal with this.
April was walking as fast as she could to the pizza place. She didn't want to be late and was glad that it wasn't someplace pricy again.
At least it's something I can stand eating… She thought, having gotten a bit of indigestion at the Bueno Nacho, a place she normally never goes to but her last date was a big fan of it.
She put the heart sticker on her chest, wanting to make sure her date will know who she is.
Once she arrived, she saw someone.
He looked younger, as his profile said, with a messy head of black hair. He had baby blue eyes, a white shirt with a red oval on it, jeans, and red tennis shoes. She also noticed the sticker on his shirt, indicating this must be him. He also had a bouquet of flowers.
He saw her and smiled.
"Hello there. Are you...April O?" He asked politely.
"Yes I am... April O'Neil. You must be D-Fenton..." April asked with a smile.
"Just call me Danny..." Danny said as he checked her out.
April took a moment to examine his face.
He's kinda cute… She thought.
"These are for you..." Danny said as he handed her the small bouquet, causing her to smile.
'Wow... thanks Danny..." April said as she admired the flowers in her hands.
He looked happy to see her accept the flowers. That's when he held the door for her, like a gentleman.
"After you…" Danny said.
"Manners, nice." April said with a giggle.
As Danny followed her, April nodded.
So far so good… She thought.
Once the two were inside, they were soon seated and pulled out their menus. Danny looked at the items on the menu and decided to go with pepperoni.
"I guess pepperoni is all I want, you?" Danny asked.
"Sure, fine with me." April said.
"Okay, one large pizza for us please." Danny told the waiter.
"Very well…" He said as he walked away.
Now was the moment for small talk and getting to know each other.
"So, April, tell me about yourself?" Danny asked.
"Well... I just turned sixteen, I go to Roosevelt High school... I like listening to music, animals and in my spare time I study martial arts." April answered.
"Cool... what kind?" 'Danny asked with interest.
I better not mentioned the exact kind, given that it's not exactly something you learn at your local mall. She thought.
"You know... basic self-defense type..." April said vaguely. She then decided to avoid it all together with her own question. "What about you, tell me about yourself Danny?" April asked.
"Well..." Danny was about to start, only to pause and then look outside. He looked uneasy about something.
April noticed this and looked confused.
"Is something wrong?" She asked.
"Huh? It's nothing..." Danny said.
"Oh… okay." April said, unsure. "Anyway… you were saying?"
"Right… anyway, I'm a junior certified astronaut. Always wanted to be one when I'm older." He said.
"Cool…" April said.
"Thanks." Danny said.
As he went on describing more about himself, April couldn't help but wonder what he saw.
On a roof top.
That was close… I shouldn't have gotten so nearby since another human could have seen me… Donatello thought as he took out his binoculars.
Through them, he accidentally looked through the wrong window and saw a happy couple eating pizza.
He then heard his stomach grumbling.
Great… now I'm angry AND hungry… He thought.
He wasn't angry, he was jealous, not at he'd admit it.
He then looked through the right window and saw the two of them talking and laughing with each other. It made him frown harder.
"Hmpt... I still can't believe April is going through this... and with a guy like him... Hmpt. What does he got that I don't?" He asked, not expecting an answer.
Didn't mean he wouldn't get one, though.
"For starters, he's not talking to himself..." Mikey's voice went.
With a gasp, Donatello turned around and saw his brothers standing there, all of them not looking pleased with him.
Donnie straightened up.
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked.
"Stopping you from making an idiot out of yourself Donnie...again..." Raph said snarkily, earning an annoyed look.
"I'm just trying to make sure April is safe..." Donnie said insistently.
"By stalking her dates now..." Mikey said with a smirk.
"I am not!" Donnie shouted indignantly.
"Come on Donnie, we're supposed to be out looking for mutagen now. April will be fine, remember that she is a kunoichi and can take care of herself. She doesn't need you to be "watching over her"." Leo said, with air quotes on the last few words.
Donnie frowned but as he was about to say something, the four of them suddenly heard some loud noise from the distance, along with the sounds of people screaming.
"What's happening?" Mikey asked out loud.
Leo took Donnie's binoculars to look, ignoring his lanky brother's glare, and frowned at what he saw.
"Kraang..." Leo said darkly as he turned to his brothers. "Come on guys..." He said to his brothers who nodded and then ran into action.
Back inside.
Danny and April were finally eating their pizza and they were still getting to know each other's likes and interests.
Huh… a step up from my last few dates… April admitted in her head.
"So, you like sci-fi too?" Danny asked.
"Yes. What about ninja flicks?" April asked.
"Love them... I've always been a sucker for a good fight scene...HI-YA!" Danny said as he playfully did a karate chop.
That earned a laugh from April. She found him genuinely funny.
However, this fun time would be cut short, when they suddenly heard noise. That noise was followed by screaming.
A mutant? She thought.
"What the…?" Danny stuttered as he turned around as he could still heard the loud noise and people screaming.
He looked alarmed, while unknown to him, April had a determined look on her face.
I better handle this fast, before whatever is happening happens to Danny. She thought.
"What's going on?" Danny asked out loud.
"I don't know..." April said.
That's when she saw a large armored truck suddenly run by at law breaking speed, and April had an idea where this is going.
That gives me an idea of how to disappear without him suspecting anything. She thought.
"Oh, a speeder... stay here, I'm gonna go see if I can call the cops or something... be back in five minutes..." April said as she ran out.
As she ran, she mentally chastised herself.
Obviously, it shouldn't take me too long and I could've done the phone call inside… I'll just lie and say I'm studying to be a cop or something… She thought.
As she got out, seeing people got away, she saw the truck.
She saw the vehicle had a few familiar figures coming out of it.
"Kraang has the microchip Kraang requires." One of them said.
"Kraang better hand that microchip back!" Leo said as he aimed his sword at his foe.
"Guys?! What's going on?!" April asked.
This got the attention of the Turtles.
"April? How's the date?" Mikey asked, getting elbowed by Donnie.
"What are the Kraa- wait, how do you know I'm on a date?" She asked.
"We didn't." Leo lied. "We figured you had one since it's a month-long thing, the truck being here is just a coincidence."
April bought it.
"Okay…" She said before getting ready to fight.
The Kraang held up their weapons.
"The Turtles will not impede that plan that is Kraang's plan." One said.
"GET THEM!" Leo said.
"BOOYAKASHA!" Mikey shouted as he leapt at one of the Kraang, knocking it down.
"AHHHH!" Raph screamed an attempted battle cry.
April pulled out her Tessen fan.
"Okay… here we go." She said as she got involved in the fight.
As the Turtles did battle with the Kraang, she saw one of the Kraang about to fire on Donatello.
She tossed said fan and it knocked him in the head, causing him to miss.
"Surrender fools. You cannot defeat Kraang, because Kraang is undefeatable and Kraang will be the ones to defeat you all..." One of them said.
"We'll see about that!" Leo said before trying to slice him, only for the guy in the suit to dodge and sent another blast his way.
As this went on, April was doing her best against two Kraang while her mind is on Danny.
Really hope he didn't leave… this is one phone call too long… She thought.
One Kraang tried to grab her, but she evaded in time and kicked him where she knew the fleshy brain creature was.
The other tried to get a hold of her, but April used her Tessen fan to cut his arm, exposing some wires, and kicking him to the floor.
As she playfully fanned herself, she failed to notice in that time two of the Kraang were about to blindside her from behind.
Before they could, something flew in and grabbed her, carrying her away from them.
It took her a moment to realize what just happened.
"What?!" April said in surprise as she soon found herself the arms of a white-haired guy in a black suit.
The Turtles and Kraang all stopped what they were doing and saw this.
'What?" Leo asked.
'What?" Raph asked.
"What?" Mikey asked.
"What?!" Donnie exclaimed.
While relieved that April was safe, he was wary at the stranger who's arms she was in.
'What is this happening during Kraang's fight with Kraang's enemies?" One Kraang asked.
This white-haired boy put April down.
"I...Uh... Hi... I'm Danny Phantom. I...was just passing by and saw the fight and I was wondering if you'd like some help..." Danny said awkwardly.
April only stared a moment.
Weird… he looks familiar.
It was then that the Kraang went back to their attack, thus reminding everyone of the dangerous situation that they are still in.
"Any experience fighting?" April asked as she managed to dodge a blast.
"Tons..." Danny said as he sent a blast to one of the guys, and ended up hitting him straight in the chest. Danny hissed in reaction, only to see that it suddenly electrocuted and he noticed that there was a lot of metal there. "Robots?"
"Sort of...alien cyber armor..." Mikey said.
Danny blinked before he smiled in determination.
"Good...that means I don't have to hold back..." He said.
With a smirk, he flew into the battle and sent as many blasts as he could to the robotic guys. Said robotic guys managed to dodge and send blasts at him, but Danny soon discovered that they don't have ecto-based weapons, he easily became intangible and they phased through him.
"Wow... that's so cool! How did you do that?!" Mikey asked in excitement.
"Tell you later... first let's take these weirdos down." 'Danny said as he went back to attacking.
"Foolish earthling... It does not concern you to be in a fight against Kraang, for Kraang is fighting against Kraang's enemies and-"
'SHUT UP!" Danny shouted as he sent another blast, managing to land of hit on the talkative one. "Man, these guys are annoying..." He muttered.
"You have no idea..." Raph said before he used his pointy sais to slash at an opponent.
"Look, if you are really our ally here...you need to help us either get or destroy that brief case...inside it is a microchip that could pretty much spell the end of New York as we know it..." Leo instructed Danny Phantom.
"Got it..." Danny said as he and his impromptu allies continued to fight against these aliens.
The Turtles and April managed to take down more of the Kraang. Danny tried to get close enough to the brief case. However, the Kraang persistently tried to keep away, even firing at him. It made Danny feel less guilty whenever he fired a blast at him.
April noticed this.
"I guess he's not used to fighting something like the Kraang…" She said to herself.
She also noticed that he seems to be getting really annoyed by them too, not that she blamed him.
"Okay, I have had enough..." Danny said in anger.
"So has Kraang..." The Kraang said.
Danny growled in irritation towards him.
'Say that name again and you'll see me-" Danny paused, annoyed but not sure what he'd actually do to these supposed aliens.
"What problem do you possess towards the name of Kraang, Kraang asks you?"
"THAT DOES IT!" Danny shouted as he charged up a powerful ecto-blast but the Kraang fired back.
The end result was the two of them getting hit straight on. Danny managed to hit the guy's brief case, successfully destroying it and the dangerous microchip that was inside, but Danny got hit by the blast and send flying painfully to a nearby wall, where he landed not so gently on the ground.
April saw this and gasped.
"Uh oh…" She said.
"Ow..." Danny groaned in pain.
"The microchip has been destroyed, Kraang must retreat for now." Another Kraang said as he and his allies ran inside the vehicle and drove off.
"Darn it, they got away..." Raphael said in frustration.
"On the bright side, we managed to destroy the microchip, now the Kraang can't summon a black hole here now..." Leo said.
"We need to go check on our friend..." April said as she ran to the mysterious hero who helped them tonight.
She saw that he was on the ground but something happened that surprised her. Two white rings appeared and traveled up and down him, and soon in the place of the stranger was a boy with black hair and blue eyes, ones that April was already familiar with.
The Turtles stared.
"Did… he just…?" Mikey whispered.
"Danny?!" April exclaimed in shock.
Danny finally came to, he realized that he changed forms. Upon seeing his blind date and her friends staring at him, all with widened eyes, he gulped.
"Um... nobody saw that, right?" Danny asked stupidly.
It was after this that Danny was taken to the Shellraiser.
It was here that he explained who he is.
That he is Danny Fenton of Amity Park, the half-human, half-ghost superhero of his town known as Danny Phantom. He explained how an accident with his parents' ghost portal infused his body with ectoplasmic energy, giving him the ability to morph into a being with ghost powers. And, once ghosts started entering the human world, Danny decided to use his powers to be a superhero.
"And so my two best friends, and eventually my sister, try to keep ghosts from causing trouble in our town…" He finished explaining.
"Awesome!" Mikey shouted.
"So, you got superpowers from a lab accident and you became a superhero?" April asked.
"Pretty much..." Danny said with a shrug.
"So he says... How can we be sure he's what he claims to be?" Donnie asked suspiciously.
"My brother, this is Danny Phantom, the ghostly superhero from Amity Park, called either hero or menace by the people but from what we just saw... it's obvious which of those he is." Mikey said as he bounced up and down in excitement.
Danny blinked, surprised that one of the Turtles is a fan of his.
"I remember reading some place about a super hero in Amity Park..." April admitted.
"He did help us destroy the microchip and beat the Kraang..."Leo pointed out.
"He saved April by pushing her out of the way..." Raph said.
"Proof: hero..." Mikey said, almost smugly while Donnie sent him a dirty look.
"Okay, now that that's settled, can you all promise not to tell anyone? I sort of have a secret identity and all of that..." Danny asked, hopeful that they will do so.
"Don't worry Danny, you really helped us tonight, we won't say a thing...right boys?" April said as she turned to her teammates.
"Right." Leo said while he turned to his brothers.
"Right." Mikey said almost happily.
Raph shrugged before he nodded.
Donnie was silent for a moment, before he slowly nodded his head.
This boy did save April, so he owes him for that at least.
"Awesome... so April... uh... if you don't mind my asking... exactly what was that and... uh... who or what are your friends?" Danny asked.
April sent a look at Leo, who thought about it, he sent another look to his brothers before he sighed and then turned to their unintentional ally.
"Okay... it's like this..." Leo started as he began to explain their story.
It took a few minutes, but Danny got it.
"So you guys used to be regular pet shop turtles, but got mutated by some ooze that made you bigger and human-like, got adopted by this mutant rat who used to be a ninja and raised you as his sons and taught you how to fight like ninjas and also training April to be a ninja too..." Danny repeated.
"Kunoichi, actually." April corrected.
"Kunoichi... right... anyway, you guys are good guys and those guys you fought were aliens who want to take over the world..." Danny continued.
"Universe... but you get the picture." Leo corrected.
Danny was silent for a moment, before he answered them.
"Cool, and don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Just remember to keep quiet about my little secret..." Danny said.
"Don't worry, we promised that we would..." Leo said.
Danny smiled and felt more relaxed. He then turned to April and remembered that they were still technically on a date.
"Anyway, April? Look, I know that it's getting late, but if you are still up for it, we can still get some pizza or whatever..." Danny suggested.
"Pizza!" Mikey exclaimed in excitement, only to be smacked by Raphael for his big mouth.
April giggled while Donnie crossed his arms and looked away in jealousy.
"Pizza sounds good right about now..." April said.
Danny smiled, feeling more hopeful than ever for this date.
"Then I guess we'll be going now… Nice meeting you four." Danny said.
April opened the door as the two of them got out.
"Laters, Danny!" Mikey went.
As the Turtles waved goodbye to their new friend, Donnie found himself in a room with his brothers all glaring at him.
"Now… as for you…" Leo said.
It took Donnie a moment before he realized why they're mad at him.
Back at the Pizza place.
Danny and April were once again seated and were finally enjoying their pepperoni pizza as they continued to chat.
"I got to say April, it was so cool when you threw that fan thingy at that one guy..." Danny said in admiration.
"Thank you, your powers were really cool too..." April said. She remembered something else about those powers. "Thanks once again... you know, for saving me..."April said.
"Happy to help..." Danny said.
April smiled.
He's… pretty modest. It's so cool… She thought.
"So, you really studied martial arts for years?" Danny asked in a low voice.
"Yep, full ledge kunoichi... I hope you aren't intimidated..." April said playfully.
"Intimidated? I think it's cool. Any girl who knows how to fight like you...well...wow..." Danny said.
Hearing this made April blush and it her opinion of him became more and more positive.
"Thanks..." April said before taking another bite out of her pizza.
"You were like Kim Possible out there." Danny said.
April chuckled a little.
"I only wish I was that good. So, who taught you how to fight?" April asked.
"No one, I kind of had to learn as I went." Danny said.
They continued to talk a bit more and April felt more and more comfortable with him.
"One of these days, you should drop by and we can introduce you to Master Splinter." April suggested.
"Sure, if he taught you how to kick massive butt like that, it'd be awesome." Danny said.
The two teenagers continued eating, chatting and joking around as they continued their date, now that the threats from annoying aliens were now behind them for the time being.
Later.
Danny covered his mouth, turning his head away and burping quietly.
"Sorry…" He said to April.
"After how Mikey eats pizza… believe me, I'm used to it." April said with a smile.
After the pizza, the two were walking together down the street.
Danny thought a bit.
"So, since you're a New Yorker, have you by any chance ever encountered the Avengers? Or even the Spider-Man?" Danny asked.
"Fraid not… if I did, the Kraang wouldn't have abducted me or my dad." April admitted.
"I see…" Danny said.
April then had an idea.
"Say, since you're not from around here… wanna do some sightseeing while you're here?" April suggested.
"Sure." Danny said. "Take a cab?"
"I was thinking… why not try flying?" April asked.
"Flying?" Danny questioned
"Yeah… I bet the city would look amazing from the air." April suggested.
Danny smiled.
"Sure…"He said.
In moments, Danny Phantom took to the air, with April O'Neil in his arms.
''Whoa..." April let out.
Danny chuckled.
"Hang on..." He said as they began their flight together.
Danny just flew towards Times Square and April began pointing out some of New York's most unique parts and establishments.
They took notice of the Flatiron Building as they kept flying.
"We got the Daily Bugle on the top floor." April said.
"I read about it… how the editor-in-chief seems to hate superheroes unless they're people like the Captain America. Talk about biased…" Danny said.
''Tell me about it..." April said, not being a fan of JJ herself.
After a bit, they flew away from it.
"Anything else?" Danny asked.
She spotted another building and recognized it.
"That's Horizon High, a school for geniuses…" April pointed.
"Eh… let's keep going." Danny said.
April smiled.
"Not an egghead, huh?" She asked.
"That and… eh, not interested." Danny admitted.
They kept flying and then saw one of New York's most famous landmarks.
"That's the Statue of Liberty over there, if you want a closer look." April suggested.
"You got it!" Danny said.
They went to a closer look and circled around it, before continuing with the tour of New York's most famous places.
''Is that what I think it is?" Danny said as he pointed to one structure.
"Empire State, tallest building on the island." April said.
"Let's see how long it takes to reach the top." Danny said with a smile.
April grinned and nodded.
"Let's see how fast you are." She said.
After a short moment of flying as fast as Danny could, they soon made it to the top.
Both of them sat on the edge of the building, looking out at the city as their legs dangled over the edge.
"Your city is… beautiful…" Danny said.
"Yeah…" April said.
As Danny looked to the city, April took a moment to admire him.
He's younger than me but he's a great guy, and cute too… She thought.
April shivered a little as Danny noticed.
"You want to get down now?" He asked.
"Yeah… that's what I get for wearing shorts, even with leggings…" April said. "Fun in the sun… not so much in the night…"
"Here… I'll get us down." Danny said as he offered his hand and April took it. "Let's go."
Danny carried April in his arm when she had an idea.
"A trip to New York isn't finished without a trip to Central Park." She suggested.
Danny smiled.
"Let's go." He said.
Danny flew in that direction, carrying April when they heard something.
"Do you hear that?" She asked.
"Yeah… music? Where is it coming from?" He asked.
"Look!" April pointed downward.
It was a jazz band, playing right there in Central Park to a crowd.
"Huh… neat." Danny said.
"I love this song..." April said.
"Wanna get closer?" He asked.
"Yes, please." She said.
Once Danny found a place to change, ironic for a location in a heavily populated city, Danny and April stepped out and walked closer to the band.
Danny noticed April was really enjoying the music. She closed her eyes and swayed her head back and forth in tune with the music.
"You really seem to like this song." Danny said.
"My dad used to play it. Said it was the song they played during his first date with my mom…" April said.
Danny heard this and got an idea. He turned to the pretty red head and held his hand out.
"April, would you like to dance?" He asked.
April smiled and took his hand.
"I'd be honored to." She said.
They both had a good time on this date, but like all good things, it had to come to an end as Danny was now walking April home.
"Are you sure you have to leave now?" April asked.
"Yeah, if I don't get flying now, I'll never make my curfew, my parents... don't exactly know I am in New York and I rather they don't find out..." Danny said sheepishly.
"Don't worry, I get it..." April said.
There was a moment of silence between the two teens, both smiling at each other. It remained quiet until Danny broke it by speaking up.
"I had a great time with you tonight, April..." Danny said to the girl who smiled.
"I did too... we should hang out again soon... if you are still interested when this whole thing is over." April said.
"Yes, I'd like that. See ya around, April O. And remember if you ever need my help again, give me a call..." Danny said to his blind date, causing her to giggle once again.
"I will... See ya, D-Fenton..." April said to the dark-haired boy.
Danny smiled before he transformed into his ghostly alter ego and went in the air. But before he left, he waved to April one more time, who waved back. He took to the skies, with Amity Park as his destination.
Back on the ground, April kept her eyes on him until he was out of sight. She smiles, she was mostly doing this blind dating because a lot of kids in her neighborhood were signing up and she figured, why not.
She still couldn't believe that the guy she got paired with tonight turned out to be an out of town teenage super hero. A cute one too. She did know that aside from nearly getting blast to bits by the Kraang, she had fun tonight with this Danny Fenton guy.
April then retired for the evening, knowing that despite everything that has happened tonight, she had enjoyed her date and hoped that he did too.
"I know who my favorite is so far…" She whispered to herself.
As April and Danny's date ended, Donnie was with his brothers on a rooftop. The three of them looked disappointed with Donnie as he got on his knees.
"Guys... please... don't tell April that I was spying on her or her dates." He went with both hands clasped together.
All three of his brothers were unmoved.
"It's bad enough you were reading her e-mails, but spying?!" Raph questioned.
"Name one good reason why we shouldn't just tell April or Master Splinter?" Leo asked.
Panting in fear of what they'd do to him, Donnie got on all fours.
"I'll do anything you ask, just don't tell them!" Donnie pleaded.
As Leo and Raph were unphased, that got Mikey to think.
"Anything?" He asked, a trouble-making smile on his face evident.
"Uh... yes?" Donnie responded, regretting that he said that.
Mikey pulled his other brothers closer.
"Bros... idea here." Mikey said.
All three of them huddled together.
"Why are we talking about this? Let's just tell April, let Master Splinter sort it out." Raph pointed out.
"Exactly, Donnie brought this on himself..." Leo agreed.
"I know... but he just said he'd do anything for us... when are we ever gonna get an opportunity like this again?" Mikey asked.
That got their attention. Meanwhile, Donnie was dreading what they were talking about since he couldn't hear them.
"I shouldn't have said anything..." He muttered.
Meanwhile, both Raph and Leo looked convinced.
"So... sound good?" Mikey asked.
Raph and Leo grinned as they parted.
"Okay... we'll hide what you did from April and sensei on two conditions..." Leo said.
"First... you stop this stalking. Let April decide if one of these guys she meets is gonna be her boyfriend." Raph said.
Donnie gulped, not liking it but nodding.
"And... the other condition?" He asked hesitantly
All of his brothers grinned.
It was the last day of her dates as April entered the lair.
"Hey guys... today was my last date!" She said as took notice of something. "Whoa..."
She saw that the lair looked extremely clean, something that she'd never seen even during her time living with the Turtles. It practically sparkled.
There isn't even a stain of pizza sauce on the floor.
"Hey, April!" Mikey went from the couch as he, Leo and Raph waved to her, watching television.
"Guys... whoa... what happened?" April asked, impressed with how clean the lair is.
"Oh... Donnie offered to do all our chores for us this past 2 weeks... out of the goodness of his heart." Raph claims.
"He did?" April asked.
"Yes... I did..." A tired Donatello said.
April turned her head and, to her shock, saw Donnie was in an apron.
"Uh... Donnie?" April wanted to point out what he was wearing.
"No worries..." He said. "I... WANT to do this..." He said, hiding how much he hated the chores with a fake grin.
April looked unsure, but shrugged.
"Anyway... today was my last date. Some Martin guy... not impressed. Anyway, I'm gonna head home and take my pick on who I want to see again..."The red head said.
"Any potential boyfriend you got in mind?" Leo asked.
"Well..." April thought out loud. "I was thinking Danny."
"Ah, the superhero. Excellent choice..." Mikey said. "Right... Donnie?"
Donnie was making a face before April was looking at him and he put on the fake grin again.
"Absolutely." He said.
"Well... I'm off to cast my vote... just wanted to let you guys know in person!" April said as she headed off. "Later!"
As everyone waved goodbye to her, Donnie looked ready to pass out.
"Finally... it's over..." He muttered.
That's when Mikey approached quickly.
"Uh-uh... we agreed on the day of her last date... the day's not over yet." Donnie looked ready to scream when Mikey said that. "You still gotta wash the Shellraiser, clean out all our sheets... and you better start with the toilets..." Mikey hands him a plunger. "That pepperoni, marshmallow and corned beef pizza I made for lunch was plenty strong..."
Donnie looked ready to throw up before he swallowed and sulked towards the bathroom.
Leo and Raph approached their little brother.
"We never agreed to make him do this until the end of the day..." Leo pointed out.
"You want him to stop now?" Mikey asked.
The sounds of clogging, flushing and a pained yelp was heard.
"Oh... no..." Donnie cried.
After the sounds of him almost retching, all of the brothers grinned.
"No... not really..." Leo admitted.
Here we are, the fifth and, probably, last spin-off I am doing.
I almost went with Emma, but I'm more familiar with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and not just the 2012 series.
I also have a great idea for a major arc later down the line.
This is also, for now, the last of the spin-offs I do.
Take care everyone.
