Author's Note: So, I've been thinking over and over about this and I finally decided to do it. Now I'm doing my very own version of the series, which will be yuri of course. Hehe. I don't know how much it's going to be liked, but I just wanna write this for the heck of it. XD
A-anyways, please enjoy. Most of it will be copied from the anime.
Kasumi Aoi. A shy and cute 15-year-old, starting high school. She has long brown hair tied in a pony-tail and cute innocent brown eyes. Her high school uniform consists of a sea green blazer, a white buttoned shirt underneath, and wears a very short khaki skirt with black knee high socks on her legs. She is riding on the bus, surprisingly by her lonesome. It's not so long ago that she received a strange high school application from her loving mother and insisted on her attending because it look so advanced and awesome. Kasumi didn't have any choice but to accept.
However, what awaits her, isn't what it seems. She is about to find out why. Her eyes widen at the sight of a long, dark tunnel ahead of her. The bus drives through it, with the brunette unaware of what's going on. She panics, wanting to get out of the bus, but she knows it's no use. Once she's on, there's no getting off. She's already far from home and she doesn't know where to start to get back home. She just has to sit and endure of what she's about to witness.
For what it seems like forever, the bus goes through the tunnel and Kasumi takes this chance to look out the window again. The sky is somewhat blood red. That itself is super scary. She hopes she isn't just hallucinating. The bus comes to a stop a few minutes after and the doors open. She grabs her school bag and hurries out, but not before stopping and glancing over at the mysterious bus driver.
"Ummm…just what is this?" she asks.
But all the bus driver says is, "Be careful, young lady~" And with a grin and a wink, the doors close and he leaves.
This makes the shy girl more frightened than earlier. This place is like a whole new Halloween. Except that this Halloween has been going on for years. As she walks along the long path, she sees a cemetery and scary looking trees around her. She tries to hurry, but the eerie sounds and the noises of crows start scaring her more and more.
No way! she thinks. No way, no way, no way! I don't want to be here anymore! I wanna go home!
A bunch of crows fly over her, making her scared and use her arms as a shield to keep herself from getting pecked at. As the crows fly by, Kasumi finds herself sprinting ahead along the dirt path until she stops to catch her breath. This isn't like the pictures she saw from the screenshots she found online. This is definitely a scary place.
"LOOK OUT!" a female voice cries out from a distance to her right.
But before Kasumi can react, a bicycle suddenly rams into her with a girl riding it. Both topple over alone with the bike that goes farther than the two. Kasumi groans as she picks herself up and raises an arm to find the nearest object to support herself. But she feels…a squishy thigh?
"Ah…!" the female is right next to her? Since when?
"Eh!?" Kasumi backs away a little.
"Sorry…I got so dizzy because I'm anemic…" the girl brushes away some strands of her long pink hair.
Kasumi's eyes widen at this sight. No way. A girl…this cute in front of me? Am I dreaming..?
"EEK!" the brunette panics and waves her arms around. "S-sorry! I wasn't paying attention! Honest!" But she doesn't notice that a little drop of blood comes out of her nose.
"Oh, no! You're bleeding!" the pinkette quickly takes a handkerchief from her blazer and rushes in to wipe the blood off. However, as she does so, she takes a whiff and then sighs as she leans up against the brunette. "No way…this scent. Scent…"
Hm? Scent? Kasumi takes a whiff of her hair and sighs happily. Wow! Her hair smells really nice~!
"I'm so sorry!" the pinkette quickly apologizes as she cups both hands to the brunette's cheeks. "I can't take it anymore! Because…because…I'm a vampire!"
"EHHHHHH!?" Kasumi exclaims. Before she can do anything else, she gets bitten on the neck. "Ouchie!"
Capu-chuuuuuu~
It only lasts for a minute before the pinkette pulls away, licking her lips. "Mmmm! The blood of a young woman! It tastes so sweet!"
"Y-y-you…actually sucked my blood!?" Kasumi panics.
"Yes! And it tastes so good! Thanks so much~!" the pink haired girl says.
"S-so you really are a vampire…" There is definitely surprising.
After getting situated, the pink haired girl picks up her materials and school bag. "You are attending Yokai Academy?"
"Y-yes…" Kasumi says, softly. "I'm…I'm actually starting as a freshman…"
"That's great! I'm a freshman, too!" the pink haired girl replies cheerfully.
This girl… Kasumi thinks as she looks up and down at the girl's slender figure. I have never met anyone as cute and beautiful as her. I'm still dreaming…right?
"U-ummm….can I ask you…?" the pink haired girl says as she fiddles with her fingers, squirming her legs together. "Are you…afraid of vampires? Afraid of me, mostly…?"
Is she…joking? Kasumi thinks. I mean…a vampire as cute and beautiful as her? No way in oblivion. Sure she bit her neck and all, but it doesn't qualify her as dangerous in other places.
Kasumi stands up and smiles a small smile. "Not at all. Aren't vampires…unique maybe? I can see that a vampire like you won't harm a fly."
"Ah…that is the sweetest thing you ever said!" the pink haired girl exclaims excitedly as she hugs the brunette. "Th-then…would you please be my friend? What do you say~?"
"S-sure thing…" Kasumi nods. It's the first time anyone's ever asked her to be her friend. Back in middle school, she's always alone, with no one to talk to.
"That's great! It feels so relieving to finally find someone to talk to," the pink haired girl says. "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Moka Akashiya."
"A-and…my name is…Kasumi Aoi," the brunette replies with a shy smile.
She cannot believe it. Just when she is about to give in, she has met the most beautiful girl in the world on her first day.
**Later**
At homeroom, a cute and attractive homeroom teacher with cat-ears and a tail introduces herself as Shizuka Nekonome and points to the blackboard.
"Alright, class, nya~!" she says happily. "Welcome to your first day of school at Yokai Academy! I will be your homeroom teacher, nya!"
The teacher is so nice…! Kasumi thinks.
"For those of you who know this, it's a school full of monsters~!" Nekonome-sensei says. "Long ago, humans and monsters were at war with each other for years. But not anymore! In order for us to survive, we have to learn to coexist with them by being humans ourselves~!"
I see…it's for monst-wait! EEEEH!? Kasumi panics mentally. Sh-sh-she did not just say…this school is for…monsters!?
Just then, her pony-tail wags like a dog upon hearing someone close to her. Her pony-tail wags every now and then. It's usually when she's happy, but when she's frightened, senses something or wants to communicate, it wags as well.
"How about we just kill all these humans?" a big, muscular guy says as he licks his lips. "That will be much easier. Oh, save the women for molesting."
"Hmmm…" Nekonome-sensei looks at her clipboard. "Ah, you're Komiya Saizo-kun. Sorry to say this, but there are no humans here. All of us monsters attend this academy alone. The school is hidden in a magical barrier, a secret from the human world. Ah, if humans were able to enter here…they will be executed on the spot~!"
Kasumi's pony-tail wags wildly at this. N-n-n-no waaaaay! They're gonna KILL me if they find out who I am!
However, her panic attack ceases when she hears some footsteps coming toward the classroom.
"I'm so sorry I'm late!" a familiar voice says as the girl steps in. "This place is so big!"
"Oh, it's alright," Nekonome-sensei says with a smile. "Go ahead and introduce yourself."
"Alright~!" the girl skips to the front and gives a cute smile. "I'm Moka Akashiya, everyone!"
There is a bit of silence until it breaks by some guys whispering to one another.
"Oh, my God! That girl is so cute!"
"My heart beats for her!"
"Dude, you're not getting her for yourself! Save some room for me!"
"Ah…!" Kasumi squeaks, having the pinkette hear her and her emerald eyes widen in surprise.
"Eh? Oh…my…GOSH~!" As quick as a flash, Moka hugs the brunette tightly and happily. "Kasumi! We're in the same class~!? I'm so happy!"
**Later**
After homeroom, pretty much everyone is free to do what they want since it's just orientation before beginning real school tomorrow. Moka links arms with Kasumi as both girls walk down the halls with onlookers staring with jealousy. They've been walking around the campus for at least a half-hour by now, exploring the classrooms, library, cafeteria, bathrooms and pretty much everything else that this school has to offer.
Pretty soon, Moka is getting thirsty, so she leads her new friend to a vending machine to grab some drinks. But just as they are about to grab them, both touch hands, making Kasumi blush furiously.
"A-ahhh!" she panics. "I'm so sorry…!"
But Moka straightens up, clearly embarrassed herself, so she playfully shoves Kasumi. "Oh, geez, Kasumi~!" However, this "shove" gets turned into a super shove, sending Kasumi crashing into a wall. "O-oops…"
"Such…great strength…" Kasumi says in disbelief.
Fortunately, the brunette recovers and the two sit on the bench to enjoy their drinks. While Kasumi drinks her own, she opens one eye to glance over at her new friend.
She's a vampire but… the brunette thinks. It may be just her imagination, but is it really true that she's THE blood sucking vampire that she claims to be?
Just then, Kasumi gasps as her pony-tail wags at the sound of a handsome, yet terrifying voice coming from the corner of the building.
"So you are…Moka Akashiya, right~?"
Kasumi barely has time to react as the big, handsome man grabs her by the arm and pulls her away from the pinkette.
"No! Kasumi!" Moka cries.
"You girls are cute, but come on," the guy, Saizo from earlier, says as he looks over at Kasumi. "Why must this little runt of a girl hang out with the most beautiful girl such as you? Besides, she may not be stacked, but I can at least enjoy her in other ways~" He then looks back at the pinkette. "And you Moka, shall be my main~"
"You cut that out!" Moka shoves him away, just enough for him to let go of Kasumi who drops to the ground. "I'm with Kasumi now! There is no way she or I will hang out with a scumbag like you!" She quickly rushes to her new friend's aid. "Oh, my gosh! Are you alright, Kasumi…?"
"I-I'm fine…" Kasumi groans.
As the two leave to go to a peaceful place, Saizo gives a low growl. He will get Moka for himself no matter what.
**Later**
"Oh, man…" Moka sighs in relief as soon as they pick a perfect spot. On the school roof. "That was really scary. Are you sure you are alright…Kasumi?"
"Yeah…" the brunette says softly, looking down at the ground. "But that was quite a throw…" She glances over at the pinkette. So that was monster power… she thinks. Crazy strength, huh…?
Moka giggles and pats her friend on the back. "Oh, you're so silly, Kasumi! It's like you've never seen a monster before~"
"W-well…I wouldn't say it like that…" Kasumi says.
"Oh, speaking of which, what kind of monster are you~?" Moka asks, but then quickly catches herself. "Oh, wait. Revealing your identity is against the school rules. Sorry about that. Forget I asked~"
Kasumi laughs nervously. "Well, it's kinda far too late since you already revealed to me that you are a vampire."
"Yeah I know," Moka blushes and cups both hands to her own cheeks. "But I wasn't aware of the rule back then."
"But…I keep looking at you," Kasumi says. "And you just don't seem like one."
"Well, not right now…" Moka says and then looks down to hold out a silver cross. "Here, look at this."
"Whoa…what is that…?" Kasumi asks. She must have been a little blind because she hasn't noticed it until now. All the fuss about this new school has gotten to her.
"It's my rosary," Moka replies. "Once I take this off, I become a true and terrifying vampire."
"A true one…?" Kasumi gasps.
The pinkette gently clutches it as she looks down to look at it. "That's why…it's a protective charm. A charm to seal my powers away. I can't take this off myself."
There is a pause. Kasumi just looks at Moka as light wind blows, making both of their long hair sway gracefully. There is absolutely no way that this girl, Moka, could be this terrifying and scary when she transforms…right? At least, that's what Kasumi wants to believe. However, she cannot let this alone stop her from being friends with this beautiful girl.
"It's alright…" she says softly.
"Eh…?" Moka looks up, surprised.
"Even if you do get a little scary…" Kasumi says as she blushes. "I-i'm sure that…ummm…you're still the same Moka-san."
This makes the pinkette very happy and she wraps her arms around the brunettte.
"Oh, thanks so much, Kasumi!" she exclaims. "I am so happy to have my first friend like you here!"
"Y-yeah…" Kasumi gives a gentle smile and returns the embrace. "Me too." Her pony-tail wags a little.
"Also…I want you to know that you're my first in another way…" Moka says quietly.
"What do you mean?" Kasumi asks.
"Until today, tomato juice and transfusion packs are all I ever drank," Moka explains, putting two fingers to her bottom lip. "Your blood tastes so much sweeter! Oh, my gosh! I cannot get enough of it! I need to have some more of it~!"
"Ehhhh!?" Kasumi squeaks as she gets bitten again.
Capu-chuuuuu~
"Ehehe! Thanks for the meal~!" Moka says happily.
**Later**
Kasumi is lost in thought. For one thing, she is in a school surrounded by monsters. No matter who she will encounter, there would always be someone really terrifying and creepy. There is no way she will survive in a place like this. Especially when she wants to start a new life. And that's another thing: back at her normal school, her life was a wreck due to her extreme shyness. No one wanted to talk to her nor play with her. She was always the last chosen when being picked to be in a group. It was horrible. And now that she's starting high school, she thought she was going to start anew. But alas, now that she knows that she's in a dangerous environment, she was left with no choice but to run away.
I'm sorry, Moka-san, she thinks. I cannot stay here. This is too dangerous for me to be living here for 3 years. They will…eventually find out.
"Kasumi!" Moka calls from behind as she runs up to her. It is then that she notices something odd. "Wait…why are you carrying luggage?"
Kasumi clenches a fist on her chest and slightly turns away. "I've…decided to go to a school for humans…"
"School…for humans….?" Moka repeats.
"L-listen don't get me wrong!" Kasumi shakes her head roughly and takes a step forward, her fist still on her chest. "You're a good person! I would love to stay here, but I just-"
"No!" Moka shouts. "No you can't go to a school for humans! I hate them!" She rushes in and tries to pull the bag away from Kasumi's hands.
"W-wait, Moka-san!" Kasumi says.
The pink haired girl stops. She has a sad look on her face. "I'm sorry. It's just that…I used to go to a school for humans…back when I was in junior high…"
"Eh…?" Kasumi tilts her head in confusion.
"It's true…" Moka says softly. "I was so lonely. Because no one believes in monsters. I was so different from everyone. I thought it would be best if I disappeared. I couldn't stand it." A couple of tears fall from her eyes as she looks up at the brunette. "But…then, you said it would be alright even if I was a vampire. You accepted me! That's why…that's why I felt that I wasn't so alone…"
Kasumi bites her lip. "What if….what if I turned out to be one of those humans that you hate…? Would you still accept me…?"
"Wha…?" Moka is confused to what her friend is trying to say.
The brunette lowers her head, her long bangs hiding her expression. "I'm a…human! I'm sorry, but it's true! And the only reason I'm here is because of some mistake! It was all a mix-up!" She clenches her fist on her chest.
Shocked, Moka slowly pulls away from Kasumi. "N-no way. That's impossible. A human shouldn't be able to enter this school…!" She then realizes it. It's all true.
"You looking at me like that…it says it all," Kasumi turns away, trying to hide her tears. "You and I are too different. It's useless for me to be here…!"
"K-Kasumi…it's alright…" Moka reaches her hand, but the brunette backs away.
"Stay away from me!" Kasumi yells. "You hate humans, right? Well that's okay because….because…" She shuts her eyes tightly and shouts without thinking, "I don't want to befriend monsters either!"
Moka's eyes widened in shock. Kasumi realizes what she just said and backs away a few steps. She then turns and runs.
"Kasumi, wait!" Moka begs, but the brunette is long gone.
Finally, Kasumi is going to have a normal life. She just needs to find the bus station and get back home. But then, she stops for a moment. Wait…is this what she really wants? To go back to a normal boring life where she's all alone? She has finally made a good friend and yet…
"What…am i doing…?" she says to herself. Her pony-tail wags, telling her that something is not right. "But even if I go back there, I'm still just a human…"
**Meanwhile**
Moka is trying to chase after Kasumi, but she's too far away. She's following the dirt path that her new friend might have gone, but is she going the right way?
"Kasumi…" she says to herself.
However, she gets ambushed by a familiar man that creeps up from a tree. "Where are you off to, Moka~?"
"Sorry, but I'm very busy," Moka says. "Now let me pass."
"I'm afraid I can't do that…" It is then that Saizo's body begins to change. His skin turns dark brown and his body grows twice his size and his clothes rip off. "I want to have you for myself…now as an orc!" He sticks out his long tongue, which Moka backs away in disgust.
"Ohhhh, gross…!" she squeaks.
He quickly shoves her against a tree. "Ohhh, I'm going to have LOTS of fun with you, my dear! Hey, come on! Show ME your true form! I showed you mine."
"No way!" Moka shakes her head roughly. "It's against school rules!"
"Who freaking cares?" Saizo the Orc growls. "We're outside the school now. This will be very interesting!"
Before he can get his hands on her, Kasumi approaches the two and her eyes widen at the sight of her new friend about to be grabbed by a huge monster.
"M-Moka-san…!" Kasumi cries.
"Kasumi…run…!" Moka says.
"Hey…you're that little runt of a girl," the orc says as he approaches her. "Is there something you want to say to me?"
"E-EEK..!" Kasumi squeaks as she gets grabbed with his huge hand. "N-no….stop it! Don't hurt Moka-san!"
"I can do whatever the hell I want," Saizo says. "Unless you want Moka for yourself. Ugh, I'm going to deal with a yuri? A lesbian? That's gross!" He raises his hand in the air and tosses her like a softball, having her crash into a large tree upon impact. She falls on her side, completely injured from that toss. He laughs. "Hahahaha! Even though I don't know what kind of monster you are, you're too weak!"
"Kasumiiiii!" Moka rushes past the orc and sprints to come to her friend's aid.
"Hey, you!" Saizo growls.
Moka quickly comes to Kasumi's side and tenderly picks her up to have her lie her head on her lap. Tears of sorrow quickly fall freely. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! Humans and monsters…they really are too different to get along…!"
"Don't cry…" Kasumi whispers.
"Look at me…" Moka sobs. "I'm a vampire. I suck blood and hurt people in the process. The truth is…back at my old school…what I REALLY wanted was a friend. Whether it'd be a human or monster. I didn't care…!" She wipes a tear from her eye. "B-but I guess…that really is impossible…"
Kasumi looks at Moka's tear stained face. She is so happy to know that Moka accepts her no matter who she is. It's all okay. But…she has something to say to her too. She, a human, will be the one to accept Moka for who she is too. But before she can say anything, her pony-tail wags. The orc is approaching them.
"Hey, you two yuri ladies over there!" he roars.
Moka stands tall with a firm look on her face. But Kasumi struggles to her feet and gets in front of her.
"St-stay back…" she says. "I don't want you to get hurt…"
"B-but…Kasumi…" Moka says worriedly.
"Yes…I am weak," Kasumi says. "I'm a really shy, timid girl that's nothing but worthless garbage. But…but…" She shuts her eyes tightly. "The truth is…I just wanted…a new friend as well. I wanted to become your friend, Moka-san!"
"Grrrr! Stop that babbling!" Saizo throws a devastating punch at Kasumi, knocking her down, having her severely injured now.
She falls on her side again and Moka rushes to her side again.
"No!" she cries.
However, the brunette summons all of her strength to crawl toward Moka and look up at her with a weak smile.
"E-even if….y-you are…a vampire…" she says in a raspy voice. "I…I still…like you…"
Moka gasps as tears fall from her eyes while cupping both hands to her mouth. Kasumi is about to pass out when she grabs hold of Moka's rosary and it comes off with a plink!
Moka gasps as pink light starts glowing. "N-no way…! The rosary…it came off…!?"
The sky goes red and bats surround Moka. She undergoes a sudden change. Her hair goes from pink to silver, and her emerald eyes change to blood red. The bats fly away as soon as her transformation is complete. Kasumi cannot believe what she is seeing right now. Is this…really Moka? Then she remembers what the pinkette told her earlier about having the rosary being removed, turning her into a true vampire.
"N-no freaking way!" the orc gasps. "This can't be true! But it is…! It's an S-Class Monster…a vampire!"
The silver haired beauty stands tall, with a hand on her hip. "I suppose you were the one who woke me from my slumber, hm?"
Her voice. It's so different than the regular Moka. Stoic and cool. Saizo growls and clenches his fists.
"Vampire or not, I shall make you my woman! No matter what cost!" He starts to raise his fist to punch her.
However, Vampire Moka grabs his fist with ease and with her super strength, she twists his arm, making him yelp in pain. She grins.
"Big…mistake…" she says as she shoves him away, making him stumble back. "It's time to know your place."
"Wha…!?"
With perfect posture, Vampire Moka performs a roundhouse kick, sending the orc far away until he crashes into the ground, severely injured. He got a taste of his own medicine now.
Kasumi is mind blown at what she just saw. The true vampire, Moka, has defeated the orc so easily. However, just from looking at her…could it be the real Moka? Are they the same or different people? She stands up to walk up to her, but she feels so dizzy that she starts to pass out. However, her face is met with Vampire Moka's chest. Before Kasumi goes unconscious, she takes a small whiff of her.
The scent… she thinks. It's the same…as the Moka I met earlier…
Vampire Moka gently embraces Kasumi, having a soft smile on her face. She gently plants a kiss on the brunette's forehead.
**Later**
"Wakey, wakey~" a familiar, cute voice says as Kasumi opens her eyes.
The brunette finds herself on the pinkette's lap and jolts up. "Wait…what…? What just…?"
"Ehehe~!" Moka giggles. "It's the afternoon, silly. School's over."
"Eh…w-what…?" Kasumi cannot process what just happened. She then looks at Moka, who is smiling at her. "Moka-san…you…"
"I'm…what~?" Moka says.
Even though Kasumi wants to ask her a bunch of questions, she realizes that they should be left alone. Right now…she feels she has a place after all. Moka embraces Kasumi and pulls her close with a soft giggle. And Kasumi returns it and gives a soft smile.
Mom…Dad from Heaven. I hope this finds you well. On my first day, things have gotten hectic. I wanted to go to a different school, but…after a while, I've decided to stay. Because…I have found a new friend. I think I'm going to like it here after all.
"Ummm…Kasumi…?" Moka says. "Can I….ummmm….May I…" She is panting as she leans closer. "Your blood…"
"Eh…?" Kasumi says, blushing. "W-well…okay, sure…"
"Yay! Thanks, Kasumi!" Moka leans in and bites her new friend's neck.
