Disclaimer and Context: So...

I consider myself someone who has a love/hate relationship with the whole FNAF franchise. However, I was actually tempted to do a fan fic based around the upcoming game Security Breach out of sheer fun. I noticed that a lot of people are waiting on the game, however I wanted to do something unique by making an interpretation and AU of the game.

An important note is that while I enjoy reading up M rated content, I want to still write this fanfic for rated T for respect of the actual franchise. I made sure to do research (along with having watched some GT videos in past to connect some pieces by myself), along with checking the wiki and learning about the plots of the Fazbear's Frights books that I'm adding references from. While I hadn't read the Fazbear's Frights books myself, I still learned of each story they presented, where I was actually surprised with how over the top it can be at certain times. I'm already taking major guesses is that the upcoming Gumdrop Angel is going to be the most over the top story, just by judging the book cover.. I will not use any major information or characters from The Silver Eyes trilogy, however there is some information that was noted, seeing how they helped collaborate with the actual game plot and lore.

In terms of characters, you will see Vanessa and Vanny, however you can expect to see a bunch of OCs, along with some familiar faces that are too spoiler-heavy to mention. Also note this whole chapter is simply a recap chapter for exposition. The real action kicks off after this chapter, which will be released later.

Now this fanfic will contain the following: Language (which the major of it will be censored), violence, blood, suggestive themes, and death.

This is The Misfortunate Wonderland.

Somewhere in a city in Utah...

Snow fell from the nightly skies, as the road was being snowplowed. A snowplow was clearing the snow from the main road, as it passed under a large billboard, advertising a simple message, "Coming Soon!". There was a large structure in the distance, as construction would wait until the day to continue on. It was an ambitious project that was being organized by a company that might ring a few bells.

Fazbear Entertainment, Incorporated.

Now, there is a special story that many tend to hear, but here's the real story. A story that is in the point of a view of a bad seed of a man. A man who had everything and lost everything.

A man named William Afton.

Fazbear Entertainment is a company that started from the ground up by two simple men with the same idea in their minds. Both of them ran their own establishment that was called Fredbear's Family Diner. However, things would change until 1983, where after a dreadful incident, it was reformed into Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Unspeakable things happened after that. One of the co-owners, a gentleman named William Afton took it upon himself with a sick mind that needed to be satisfied.

He had an idea. A sick idea. He was what the stories would describe as a serial killer. His victims were all children. Ironic, considering he was described as a family man, however he wanted to kill children. Whatever reason, he got to work. His first victim wasn't found, though he was surprised at this. It was his first kill and he done it in a place where the body would have been found. Then, the day after, Afton made another mistake. He visited the scene of the crime. Visited where he slain the child. However, to his shock, it was...gone? William made sure to not say a word about what he done.

Years later, even as he was moved and shaked around his company, he had another sick idea. He remembered how the company had special springlock suits. These springlock suits were semi-animatronic. One person can wear them, though it was deemed unsafe, unless you had the calibrations right. If you didn't want to wear it, you can adjust the settings, so they can be used as an animatronic. Where he was currently working, there was some spares. He got to work. He remembered taking a golden bunny springlock suit. He considered the springlock of a golden Freddy Fazbear that reminded him of Fredbear, but he liked the idea of a bunny. Taking a deep breath on one infamous day, he found 5 children, lured them away from their parents, then he killed them all...

This time, he needed to find a place to hide them. He went back to the pizzeria at night to come up with a solution. Then, he noticed them. The animatronics. Perhaps... Perhaps, if he hid the bodies in them. No one would find the bodies. He remembered his first kill. He was sloppy, but he got away with it out of sheer luck. He didn't want to be unlucky. So, he went through the task of stuffing them into the animatronics. There was blood on himself, but he made sure to clean himself off.

He was a prime suspect in the disappearances. They knew he was there at the pizzeria. However, the police couldn't find the bodies. There was evidence which proved that he was involved. He was seen on camera, but there was nothing. Some of the people working on the case suspected that William Afton had done the crime, but they didn't have any other evidence to prove it. You could accuse a man for murder, but it's difficult when you can't find the murder victim.

After the pizzeria closed down, he found other opportunities. As he was still in the company, he had a side project in mind. He built his own animatronics, which he nicknamed Funtime Animatronics, for a restaurant called Circus Baby's Pizza World. However, he didn't intend for them to be made for entertainment, but rather for tools to capture children. This backfired in a way where it costed someone from his own family. He already lost a son and his own wife, but now his own daughter was next. Afton realized how his daughter didn't listen. He had to cover up her death, even as she was deemed missing. It was easy to close the pizzeria down with the lie of a gas leak.

Around that time, he found another venue to make. Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental. It was this place beneath the suburbs where his family lived. In the same area of Fredbear's Family Diner. He was now alone, however it wasn't until in 1987 is when he was continue his killing spree at a new Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. The same modus operandi as before. To make sure things went smoothly, he even had a security uniform outfit to wear. Back before they switched the color of the uniforms to a simple white and black, the uniforms were actually purple. It was a simple color choice back then, however it was easy to wear an uniform to disguise yourself as one of the security guards. He made sure to have the springlock suit with him this time, as 5 more kids fell victim to him.

After his second killing spree, there were stories that started to spread. The rumors that at night, the animatronics would come to life. Every night, they roamed the pizzerias, attacking the night guards who would be security for the night shift. Afton realized something happened. He went back to Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental to do some research. He found out how they were more alive than they should. Normally, the skeptics and the self-proclaimed rational would blame the faulty AI of the animatronics, however it was the opposite of bad programming.

When one is slain without having the chance to live their lives, they would come back restless. The dead come back as a spirit with unfinished business that had been forced upon them. As a result, they were somehow given life by the animatronics that their bodies decayed in. They never knew the name of their killer. All they knew was the yellow costume he wore and the purple security guard uniform he would wear. Some nightguards who encountered these possessed animatronics survived. Those who didn't were killed in ways unpleasant.

There was one incident, where one of the managers arrived to one of the pizzerias to check up on the nightguard, only to find the office trashed. When they checked maintenance, the only parts of the nightguard that were visible were their eyes and teeth that popped out from one of the animatronic suits. A new company rule was made to cover up such scandals. Made by the executive board of all people. Had they lacked sympathy towards their own workers? If one of them would die, would they be forgotten? Deemed missing, as their body was disposed of?

Sadly, yes. Who were the real monsters? Afton or was the company to blame?

Afton learned that a supernatural force called remnant was what has been causing the animatronics to come alive, due to the ghosts of the children. He had to go into hiding, eventually. He had killed many children, without reason or remorse. He might have had a reason once, but it would no longer be justified. Then again, who said the murder of innocent children was justified?

As the years went by and after the last pizzeria by Fazbear Entertainment closed down, sending the company onto a haitus, Afton went under the radar. However, many years later, he returned to the pizzeria, where he committed his original murder spree. The reason was that he had learned on the news that the company was under new top management. There were plans to tear the pizzeria down, but Afton had left some evidence hidden long ago that would be discovered, if anything would be torn down.

He kept the springlock suit he used for the murders in a safe room where he committed the murders. So one rainy night, he came alone to the pizzeria. The animatronics were still there, however it had been so long since they saw any human guests, that they didn't have the chance to realize who showed up. Afton found a fire axe, as the animatronics were heading to the safe room. It was a while, but he had fight in him. He smashed them to bits. Did they even remember him? Well.. they did now.

William Afton thought he had a plan. However, when he destroyed the animatronics into pieces, he accidently did the right thing. He freed them. The spirits. As the ghosts of his victims appeared before him, it was the only time he reacted in horror. He was cornered in the safe room. He needed a way to hide or possibly escape. Then, in an idea of arrogance, he went to put on the springlock suit. The spirits didn't reach him. They stood by. William stood up in the suit. "Did they not think I'm the one who killed them now?" he thought, as they simply watched.

Feeling safe and without worry, he let out a laugh. The laughing stopped, when he heard a snap.

For years and years, the springlock suit laid in the safe room to rust. There were holes in the ceiling that caused rainwater to leak down from above onto the suit. The combination of moisture and rust loosened the springlocks. The spirits learned this already. So when Afton heard the snap, he realized he made a fatal mistake.

As blood suddenly seeped from the suit, Afton was left with the painful demise, as his body was crushed and sliced from the inside of the suit. The spirits later left for now.. They had done justice, but sooner or later, Afton would return.

The company that Afton once worked with ended up putting salt to the wound. They knew of what Afton had done and were eager to cover it up. A false wall was sealed over the entrance of the safe room, turning it into a mausoleum for William Afton. William Afton would later be missing, as the pizzeria was left untouched. It was unknown why they didn't tear it down. Perhaps it was going to be remodeled. Perhaps the company didn't want anyone to know what was inside. Or perhaps no one else wanted to build anything over the foundations of the pizzeria.

Afton died. Alone. Forgotten. But he woke up. Powerless he was. He was still in that suit. Alone in that one dark room. No human contact from anyone. Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. Months into years. So many years. He was stuck there for many many many years..

Until one day. The wall went down.

His body had long since decomposed. His bones were the only things in that springlock suit. So well hidden that the ones who found him didn't notice. Even as he felt self-aware, he noticed he was going somewhere. Where was he going? This world he sees around him. It was different, yet familiar. What year was it?

Turns out he was in the year of 2023. He didn't know this, however. He ended up realizing where he ended up at. It was a local amusement park. Popular, but that wasn't the real deal. He found himself in a maze. It was a haunted house attraction, similar to the scare mazes one can go to on Halloween. It was called Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction. Afton realized something. This was the mark he left behind. His work. The victims he slain. The urban legends that had rose from the trauma he afflicted. This is what the aftermath showed.

He was in a paradise, however it was still in the mortal realm. Empty shells were scattered around. Memories of the past that Afton now discarded. Afton managed to move for the first time from a long dormant state. He knew the situation at hand. He realized that there was a nightguard at the end of the maze. He remembered about the rumors of the ones who would be killed by the animatronics. However, he was the animatronic. He was immortal. He was a killing machine.

For 5 nights, he tried to kill the nightguard. He never got to know the man's name. A young lad. Probably did the gig part-time. Pay might have been much higher than that of the past. Yet, the nightguard was smart. He outsmarted Afton. Afton didn't like to be outsmarted. He hadn't killed in a long time. It was an addiction. An addiction that he was off from for decades. He needed to kill him. He was driving the guard mad, he just wanted to rip the putrid sap's face off.

But Afton accidently broke the nightguard's mind. Which the latter needed to escape from Afton, once and for all. The nightguard knew about some faulty wiring in the maze. Safety hazard he was aware of. Perhaps, the only way to stop this creature, the nightguard thought. He had to burn it. Perhaps it could work.

For a moment, William didn't have a nose to smell smoke, however the maze was another deathtrap. Soon, the hallways of the maze was filled with flames. That blasted nightguard, he thought. The flames actually never killed him twice. He felt pain, but he managed to survive. Afton didn't remember what happened after that. The ceiling caved in and he was trapped under some rubble, until the fire department came.

The building was burned out. Now a charred husk. However, Afton was hidden. Even as people entered the ruins of the maze to grab what they could find and auction it off, Afton simply kept himself in the shadows. He already died once and he nearly died again. What was the point now? He accomplished so much. He was remembered. He was feared. Yet he lost. He didn't like losing. He lost to one man! One man in a fake security guard outfit! One carny! Afton fell into a sleep. He didn't know what to do.

Until... He heard a voice.

"Father. It's me, Michael."

Afton jolted awake, when he heard the voice of his son. It was Michael. How..? Was he still alive? Where was he? How can he hear him? He knew it was him, but it felt like a message from somewhere else.

"I did it. I found it. It was right where you said it would be. They were all there. They didn't recognize me at first, but then... they thought I was you."

He heard his son let out a heavy sigh, as he continued.

"And I found her. I... put her back together, just like you asked me to. She's free now. But something is wrong with me. I should be dead. But I'm not. I've been living in shadows. There is only one thing left for me to do now. I'm going to come find you."

"I'm going to come find you..."

Afton jolted up from the ruins. He didn't know how long he was asleep. His son.. Michael was alive! He was somewhere! He probably knew what to do. His son Michael might help him! Repair him perhaps. Michael was looking for him. He was the only family that he knew was left. If Michael was looking for his father, Afton had to look for his son. Afton stood up from the ground, as he walked slowly out from the torched maze. The local amusement park was empty. Afton didn't know if it was abandoned, but that wasn't the most of his concerns. He needed to sneak in the shadows. Away from the public eye. He was now a freak of nature. A monster. He needed to know where his son was.

William traveled by himself. His form started to deteriorate now. He was no longer a corpse in a springlock suit. He was now becoming scrap. He hated how his original victims were free. They were mocking him! Even if they became scrap metal themselves, their souls left this world long ago. He couldn't hear his son's voice. He knew he was still alive! Why can't he hear him anymore?!

Afton soon found himself in the back alley. Slumped near some trash cans, he made sure that no one tried to pull anything. Occasionally, there would be some homeless man, but Afton scared him off. He didn't want to be pissed on. Soon, as he lingered alone, he heard footsteps. He immediately went limp. There were some men approaching him. He was outnumbered. He didn't know what they wanted. Until he heard one of them mention something to another. "You sure this is the model that Henry requested for?"

"Looks like it. Damn thing is just scrap. I don't know why Henry would want this for the pizzeria that opened in Washington County."

Afton suddenly realized what this was about. He recognized the name. Henry. Henry? No... It can't be.. He was still alive? His business partner still worked for that company? However, he suddenly realized that he was being taken to a pizzeria. The urge for blood returned. He could try to embark on his old routine. It would be like old times.

The problem with that was it was not what Afton imagined. Afton was forced into an underground labyrinth. Away from the crowds. Surrounded by dark empty rooms and vents, he knew he needed to escape again. However, he ended up meeting some friends. They were just like him. Homicidal. Violent. They were animatronics, but it didn't look like they knew who he was. There was an amalgamation of parts with a mask of Funtime Freddy. Afton recognized it from his own separate company of Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental. It was more crazy than wanting to kill. There was Circus Baby herself, however she was now reduced to scrap. There was something about her that Afton felt was familiar. She mentioned her father, yet he didn't know who. Then, there was this random animatronic. It was a black-colored bear with a missing eye. It didn't talk. It only shushed Afton when it was near him.

All 4 of them were trapped underground, where they realized that the only place of escape was from one room. A security office with the "manager" of the pizzeria working inside. They all wanted to escape. Escape from this new prison and cause more havoc. All 4 of them wanted to kill the manager. He was the one that was blocking their way to freedom. The manager had tools on stand-by. He knew where the animatronics would be with motion detectors and knew how to lure them away with decoy sounds. They were getting more mad and mad each night.

Until...

"These stupid advertisements! Why did I get myself sponsors?!" the manager said, as he only had a few tasks to finish up, before he was allowed to leave. However, when he checked the air vent on his left at his office, Circus Baby was crawling directly towards him. He backed away from the vent, until he turned around to see what was left of William Afton in that scrap of a springlock suit. "Finally.." Afton said, as the manager screamed. Afton wrapped his hand around the manager's wrist, as the guard tried to smash the hand off with his flashlight. "Get back! I've done nothing to you! Please, I have a wife!" the manager pleaded, as he heard Circus Baby speak.

"You played right into our hands, did you really think that this job just fell out of the sky for you? No. This was a gift, for us. You gathered them all together in one place, just like he asked you to. All of those little souls, in one place, just for us, a gift. Now we can do what we were created to do, and be complete! I will make you proud! Watch, listen, and be full."

"Daddy?" Afton said, as the manager managed to get him off his grip, as he backed away to the ladder that led up to the hatch. The only way out. Problem was that it would only open after all of the tasks on the terminal were finished. The last task was being finished, but it took longer than expected. "Get me out of here! Please!" the manager yelled, as he was trying to get the attention of someone from outside of the office. "Elizabeth..?" Afton said, distracted by this revelation as Baby looked at him. "Daddy.. It's you..!" Elizabeth said, as she smiled with what left of her face was still on.
"Elizabeth! Forgive me for not protecting you once, but both of us are back! The only way of escape is through this pathetic soul!"

"He is a gift, daddy! A gift! We are do what we were destined to do! After it's been so long, we can be free!" Elizabeth said, until a familiar voice suddenly emerged from the terminal.

"Connection terminated. I'm sorry to interrupt you, Elizabeth, if you still even remember that name, but I'm afraid you've been misinformed. You are not here to receive a gift, nor have you been called here by the individual you assume. Although you have indeed been called. You have all been called here into a labyrinth of sounds and smells, misdirection and misfortune. A labyrinth with no exit, a maze with no prize. You don't even realize that you're trapped. Your lust for blood has driven you in endless circles, chasing the cries of children in some unseen chamber always seeming so near, yet somehow out of reach. But you will never find them. None of you will. This is where your story ends."

"Henry!? What... What is the meaning of this!" Afton said, as Lefty was right behind him, as Afton was still in the vent. "Daddy! My leg!" Baby cried out, as one of her legs were being grabbed by Molten Freddy, pulling her back away from the manager, as he was trying to get the hatch open.

"And to you, my brave volunteer, who somehow found this job listing not intended for you: although there was a way out planned for you, I have a feeling that's not what you want. I have a feeling that you are right where you want to be. I am remaining as well. I am nearby. This place will not be remembered, and the memory of everything that started this can finally begin to fade away, as the agony of every tragedy should."

A green light appeared on the hatch, as it was unlocked. The manager pushed the hatch up, as he immediately exited the office. "No! HENRY!" Afton yelled, as a sudden increase of heat emerged all over the metal maze and office. It was... Fire! This whole place was an incinerator!

"And to you monsters trapped in the corridors, be still and give up your spirits. They don't belong to you. For most of you, I believe there is peace and perhaps more, waiting for you after the smoke clears. Although, for one of you, the darkest pit of Hell has opened to swallow you whole, so don't keep the Devil waiting, old friend."

"NO!" Afton squeaked out, as he was suddenly pulled out of the office and into the empty room behind it, as Lefty loomed over him. "What are you doing!? He's escaping, he-" Afton wanted to explain some more, as he was hearing the shrieks of both Elizabeth and Molten Freddy echo throughout the metal halls, as Lefty immediately picked him up and pinned him against the wall. "Shh..." Lefty quietly said, as flames emerged around them. "What!? YOU!?"

"My daughter, if you can hear me, I knew you would return as well. It's in your nature to protect the innocent. I'm sorry on that day, the day you were shut out and left to die, no one was there to lift you up into their arms the way you lifted others into yours. And then, what became of you. I should have known you wouldn't be content to disappear, not my daughter. I couldn't save you then, so let me save you now. It's time to rest; for you, and for those you have carried into your arms. This ends for all of us. End communication."

"Henry!" Afton yelled, as Lefty kept him pinned. Both of them felt the flames, as the heat was unbearable. Afton could feel the fire creep up his legs, as he was immobile. "HENRY!" Afton yelled again, as the whole underground was in flames. Lefty stood there, as it watched Afton being cooked alive. Well, not exactly alive, however he was truly heading to the hell that he belonged. The manager escaped from the pizzeria in shock, however when he left, he forgotten that Henry was still in the pizzeria, as the latter joined the animatronics in a fiery demise. The manager didn't know what to do. All he could think of is to run.

When William Afton died, he started to remember his family. Her wife who had died long ago to give him the responsibility of caring for the children. His youngest son. A child that he felt regret of not caring for sooner. If only he knew of the dysfunctionality of his own children. Now, his son had his skull crushed. There was Elizabeth. His only daughter failed to listen to him. She was drawn in by the sight of ice cream by Circus Baby. Now, she was slain by one of his own deadly inventions. Afton didn't know what happened to Michael. He believed that his only son left had died eventually. All of his family were gone.

Now, the fate he was given was fitting, given the state of his crimes. He was trapped in a security office in a pizzeria that had no rules of time and space. He was in hell. Actually hell. All that he created and all that he killed were there, as well. He was forced every waking night to survive against them. He knew that he was in the realms of the devil, however he believed he knew who's idea it was for this punishment to be given to Afton. He could observe them beyond the empty golden springlock suit of Fredbear.

He thought that he would stay here. Forever.

But then... he escaped. It was supposed to be impossible, but... he always came back. Always.

The time was now. It was a sunny day, as the last pieces of the building were in place. Ambition can be corrupting, however it usually paved with good intentions. The building that now stood as large as a complex was given a name.

Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizza Plex.
