Hello! I'm new here, and this is my first fanfic. I love BC, and I had this idea in my head, so here we are. Enjoy!

Humanity came close to being decimated by demons. But just one mage saved humankind. As a testament to his prowess, the mage was henceforth known as the Wizard King and became a legend.

Several centuries passed… The tale of one particular young man and his two childhood friends begins.

In the tiny village of Hage, on the Clover Kingdom's outskirts, Two middle-aged men were plowing their field until an explosion of cheer made them stop.

"The royal capital is rowdy today… Look how much magic there is to celebrate!"

"Well, the Wizard King just came back from battle and was triumphant once again!"

"The Wizard King, eh? It's true this kingdom only exists thanks to the generations of Wizard King and of all Magic knights, who protected us!"

As they said that, they both looked at the humongous remnant of the demon the first Wizard King defeated. Perched atop it was the statue of said hero. As a symbol of protection, of darkness, beaten, it was oddly a fitting view to go with the distant cheers.

"ONE DAY, I'LL BECOME THE WIZARD KING, AND MAKE YOU HAPPYYYYYYY! THAT'S WHY PLEASE! MARRY MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

A booming voice covered the cheers and jerked the peasants from further reminiscing.

"Speaking of rowdy… Asta is at it again…"

"Ah, the lad from the church, uh? As usual, his voice is something!"

Said boy, Asta, was currently on his knees, presenting a bouquet to an uncomfortable-looking young woman. The young man was of short stature. He was wearing a simple plain white tunic with a V- underneath his favorite dark blue jacket whose sleeves extended only to his elbows. His shoes were made out of two different cloths, the parts covering his ankles, the soles the same color as his jacket and pants. The parts covering his toes were white, a vertical stitch mark going from the bridge to his toes. To keep the numerous bangs of ash white hair out of his eyes, he also wore a simple black headband.

"I'm sorry, Asta. I'm a nun, so…" the nun answered, her hand touching her cheek in a practiced way. It wasn't the first time the boy proposed to her, after all.

Asta comically started to fall on the floor back first before rebounding mid-fall as nothing happened.

"I'm not giving uuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppppppp!"

"Um… I'm sorry, but…"

"Not yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeett!"

Fed up with his constant and useless attempt, the nun finally resorted to more drastic means.

"Like I said… Stop pestering meeeee!"

Water Creation Magic: Holy Fist of Love!

A massive fist of water descended on Asta and crushed him to the ground.

"Oh, sorry! I used my magic without thinking!"

"Not yeeee…" Before Asta could finish his sentence, a shadow rushed and stood before him, facing the young nun.

"UWAAAAA! As usual, your water creation magic is awesome, miss Lily! So much potential and so much strength! I wonder if you could send him flying instead of sending him flat on the ground! Like, by adapting the direction of the fist!"

A young girl with the same age as Asta intruded upon the young nun's private space, purple eyes shining brightly. She had mid-long blond hair put in a braid. The girl was wearing a simple beige shirt with long sleeves and light brown pants with a simple belt. Additionally, she was wearing dark socks and a pair of simple boots. Her sleeves were rolled up, and around her left wrist was a grey-colored wristband made of cheap leather with an animal emblem that looked like a horned beast.

"Hum… Aurora-chan... Too close… We already had this conversation, and sending him in the sky could be dangerous... Please don't try to make me a murderer. I'm a nun…"

"Hahaha! I don't want that, sister! But your magic is so interesting. I can't help but wonder what else you can do! Perhaps you could also summon a hammer and hammer him in the earth, or you could…"

"Even then, I would never give uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuppppppppp!" exclaimed the designated guinea pig.

"Yeah, well, but then you could-Whoah he is flying! It can only be…" Aurora couldn't finish her thought before an unnatural gust of wind took Asta and send him to fly far away from Sister Lily and her.

She turned toward the source of the wind, and she saw a young man her age with his left raised and his index pointed towards the flying Asta, with four younger kids hanging around him. He was of average height, with a lean build, and beautiful (according to Aurora and everyone else in the church) with amber eyes and messy black hairs. He was wearing a pitch-black shirt with a high collar and long sleeves, light brown pants that are cut below his knees and around his waist, a pair of brown belts that crossed each other. Dark-colored socks and a couple of boots completed his attire.

"Asta, are you causing trouble for the sister again? How many rejections does that make? 125?" said one of the younger kids, eyeing Asta, who finally crashed (again) on the ground.

"Ohh! It's Yuno and the kids! Heyooo! Your wind magic is even more powerful than before! As expected! I didn't see you at all today! How are you?" Aurora rushed toward them before Asta raised his voice once again before Yuno or the kids could respond.

"Shut up, you braaats! And Yuno, you handsome bastard! Why are you getting in the way of my happinesssssss?"

"Well, you're noisy, short, immature, and restless… Everything that would not appeal to woman." Yuno retorted calmly. "And besides, Sister Lily is a person of the Cloth and cannot get married, and you're fifteen, so you can't marry anyone either." Yuno explained simply while shrugging as if it wasn't the first time he said that.

"But Asta is also determined, a go-getter, and he can be awesome when he wants to… Don't worry, Asta, you're not a lost cause!"

"Thank you Auroooooooora! See Yuno, this is how you talk to someone you grew up with for the last fifteen years, you pretty bastard!" proclaimed Asta loudly, pointing at his two childhood friends/siblings.

"But you still can't marry Sister Lily, you know." Aurora laughed good-naturedly.

"Raaaaaargh! I'll still make the impossible possible, just watch meeeeeeeeeeeeee!" barked Asta in pure determination, fire in his eyes.

"Sister, I'll help you with the laundry," Yuno said to the nurse.

"And I wanna watch your magic, Yuno!" Aurora exclaimed, the stars in her eyes coming back.

"Stop ignorrriiiiiing meeeeeeeeeeeee!" shouted Asta, making Aurora chuckle; the kids sigh and Yuno ignoring him even harder. "Let's duel, Yunoooooooooooooooo!"

"No." Replied the black-haired teen bluntly.

"Whyyyyyyyyy?" asked Asta, loud as ever.

"Because it's a waste of time." Replied Yuno, still bluntly.

"What did you sayyyyyyyyy?" insisted Asta.

"Stop this, Asta." Recca, one of the younger kids, started to talk. "You can't win against Yuno. After all…"

"Take this, Yuno! My special attack!' Asta made to attack his target, palm open toward him, intent clear…

… And nothing happened.

"You can't use magic." The kid finished, dead serious.

"NOTHING CAME OUT!" complained Asta, gripping his head.

"I can't believe you can't use magic at your age… You have no skills whatsoever." The same kid, Nash, told Asta.

"Let me show you my TRUE power!" Asta retorted, taking the usual sit-up position and doing reps at an incredible speed. "How about that? None of you can do this at such a speed, I beeeet!" Asta affirmed while still doing push-ups.

"So what's the big deal about it, idiot?" Nash sighed, looking fed-up with the older boy's attempt to defend himself.

"Asta, you're so funny!" A little girl told him, laughing.

Meanwhile, Yuno used his powerful magic to dry and hang out the washing in record time.

"Thank you, Yuno!" The sister said gratefully. "Awesome!" Aruru, the youngest here, said while looking at the little display.

"Uwooo! Then let the wood chopping to me…" Asta took an axe and made for the logs, but Aurora beat him to it. She made two perpendicular chopping motion with her hand, and the log fell, perfectly cut in four evenly.

"I won't lose, Yuno! Here, Sister, I cut the wood!" Aurora exclaimed, stars still in her eyes after seeing Yuno's clever use of his magic.

"Thank you too, Aurora-chan!" Lily told the other girl, smiling.

"It's hard to believe you three are the same age." Pointed Nash to Asta, who froze on the spot, with his ax raised.

"Yuno and I, we were abandoned on this church the same day. And around three years later, apparently, Aurora was abandoned here too. Since then, the three of us, as the eldest, were always together, and we shared many moments." Thought Asta, still in the same position, before rushing at Yuno, his axe forgotten on the ground.

"So then whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!" Asta asked Yuno, shaking him back and forth.

"Talent and diligence." Answered the other boy, slapping Asta's hands away.

"Auroooraaaaaa!" Asta launched himself at the girl, shaking her back and forth.

"Awawawawaaa! Diligence and blood!" Aurora answered, not strong enough to pry Asta's hands.

"Ehhhh? Blood?" Asked Asta, stopping his shaking and looking at the other girl quizzically.

Aurora breathed in to get a grip on herself before continuing.

"Well, we learn that blood is a large part of your innate magic potential, right? So maybe Yuno and I are some kinds of prince and princess, that's why we're overflowing with magic!" Aurora exclaimed with determination, her fists closed. Asta looked even deader.

"Perhaps Asta was one of our subject's kids then. I knew you were around for a reason." Yuno continued, uncaring of the nearly mortal damage Asta's psyche was taking.

"Un! You two are amazing! Especially Yuno! You two can definitely become magic knights and works under the Wizard King!" The little girl at Yuno's side said.

"But you're right on one point, Aurora-nee. Only those of noble birth can become the Wizard king." Said Nash glumly.

"We are peasants and orphans, you know… I was joking, Nash." Aurora replied, crossing her arms. "A royal in Clover would never give his child up…"

"Even so, you two are the hope of this church!' The old priest in charge of the orphanage, Orsi Orfai, exclaimed, coming out of nowhere. Murmurs of agreement were confirming his declaration.

"Come on, Asta, stop pouting." Said Sister Lily to a hunched up on himself Asta, who was comically crying. "You're going to have your awarding ceremony soon; I'm sure once you have your grimoire, you'll trigger something inside you and become able to use magic." She declared while smiling down at the crying teen.

"I'm sure you're right, sister! I'll obtain a grimoire, join the magic knights, and eventually become the Wizard King one day! And I'll renovate this shabby church at the same time!"

"There he goes again," Nash said, while the priest was speaking something about how Asta was rude to call the church shabby. Sister Lily was just looking at him with a benevolent yet tired smile. "We peasants and orphans don't have the potential to become Wizard King. No way. Only people like royals or noble could become it."

"Anyone can have the potential! I'll show youuuuuuuuuuuuu!" proclaimed Asta loudly, while he was running in the distance.

"He doesn't have a shred of potential; he doesn't have prospects for a job. All the townspeople make fun of him for that, and he still believes like a moron he could become Wizard King? I can't believe he's older than me." Nash muttered while sighing. He felt the pain coming from the top of his head and looked up and saw Aurora watching him, a disapproving look on her face, her hand lightly chopping the top of his head.

"Then don't be like those townspeople. Everybody can try. And so, everybody can succeed. If you don't try, you can't succeed. If we want to, we can become anything. I know it. This is something Asta taught me. And besides, you can say anything about him; I won't let you belittle him like that. He has his flaws, but he's more amazing than you think. He's my hero. He's a great guy." Aurora declared, finishing with a smile. "We'll come back, the three of us, with a grimoire, and we'll show you that everyone can become anything they want. Even if you are a peasant or an orphan!

"Well, if you say so… I still don't think he can do—Owowowow!" Nash answered back defiantly.

"What's with the attitude, Nash?" Aurora started to pull on his cheek while Yuno reassured the distressed nun that Asta would come back by dinnertime.

"Yuno used to be such a crybaby back when he was a little boy. And Aurora, she was far more reserved and timid. But it all changed when they both came back with a severely injured Asta. Since that day, Asta's been coming home all covered in dirt. I wonder what he does every day?" Thought the nun, looking at the boy and the girl in wonder, before doing a double-take.

"Aurora-chan, why is Nash not moving?" asked the nurse. And indeed, the boy looked frozen.

"Eh? Ah, it happens sometimes; it doesn't last long. It's funny though, I can do something like this." Said the girl while putting Nash's finger in his nose. "This is for being cheeky!" Aurora snickered.

"No, it's not…" Lily sighed. "Still, this magic… It only happens when Aurora got a bit angry."

"997, 998, 999…" Asta was doing a one-handed handstand and was bending his arm before righting it, carrying his whole body mass. He was counting to himself the number of reps he was doing.

"1000! Phew! And now, to gulp down the Meguro leaf juice supposed to help increase magical powers!" Asta said while gulping down the strange beverage before making the same hand motion he has done before… And nothing came out.

"There's no way you could do it." "The lad from the church is being silly again."

"Asta, you're here! You're still training! Eheh, you remembered the part about being diligent!" Aurora came, uncaring about the other boy's feelings, with a flash in her hands.

"Uwa, Aurora, where did you come from? Actually, why did you come?" Asta asked curiously.

"I just wanted to hang out a bit with you, but I can understand why you would train even now… The others were being terrible as usual."

"Don't worry, I totally don't feel a thing now!" Wrong.

Aurora looked at him in the eyes.

"I believe in you, Asta. I truly want you to become a magic knight. If anyone should succeed, it's you." Aurora said sincerely, looking at the sky in wonder. "Coming March, we'll show everyone that the Hage power trio is coming to change to kingdom! We'll definitely become rich enough to eat a lot of meat!" she finished with a trail of saliva coming from her mouth.

"Ohhh! Leave it to me! I'll definitely become the Wizard King! This is the only thing I'll never give up on! And then we'll feast every day!" smiled Asta, doubt forgotten. Thank you, Aurora.

"Ohhhh and-and add some seafood! Better get ready for us!" Aurora shouted to the sky. "Oh! I nearly forgot, but here, some freshwater! It's from Sister Lily." Aurora took the wooden flask and handed it to the boy. It wasn't from the sister, but Asta didn't need to know that.

"Uwooooo Sister Lilyyyy! I love youuu!" Asta shouted happily to the sky, stars in his eyes, like the simple teenager he was; Aurora was laughing, saying his magic was perhaps his loud voice, unaware the last member of the trio was watching them from the shadow.

"I'll go back. Come back for dinner, Asta!" Aurora told him.

"As usual then. See ya!" answered Asta with a smile, popping the cap and taking a mouthful of the water before resuming his training.

"Gotta keep training my bodyyyyyy!"

Like the girl, Yuno went back after making sure neither saw him.

Some month later, in March. Once a year, all around the country, every fifteen-year-old teenagers gather to hold an awarding ceremony to receive their grimoires. These grimoires increase their magical powers, reveal their attributes and their potential.

That means a lot of people were attending this event. Amongst them were villagers, wealthy and more impoverished, and the three orphans from the church, Asta, Yuno, and Aurora. Coming with them were the rest of their little family, like the priest Orsis, Sister Lily, and the younger one.

"Welcome, young men and woman. You each will begin walking down a new path starting today. I wish you faith, hope, and love. I am the master of this tower." Declared an old man with a long beard and a pointy hat, standing on a podium with his magically amplified voice. His speech continued, but Aurora didn't really pay attention. Nor did she paid attention to the whispers of the others around her and her friends.

"Look, those three are the orphans from the church!"

"No way! They look so shabby!"

"Does he really need to give them grimoires too?"

"Ah, but one of them is pretty hot!"

"And the girl is cute too!"

Those kinds of useless whispers. Aurora's siblings didn't mind it either. Asta was looking enthralled at the massive column of grimoires that were awaiting an owner. Yuno looked just a bit less bored than usual.

"Besides, it was said that a grimoire exists for every people in the kingdom. So what stupid things were those people saying? Everybody could and should have a grimoire. Everybody."

"I sincerely wish someone among you become the Wizard King… I'm SERIOUS HERE!" the old man exclaimed all of a sudden. "And now, it's time for… The awarding of grimoires!" the old man finished.

And at that moment, countless grimoire started to shine from their shelves and began to gently fly out towards their respective owner, like an irresistible pull. Aff of them had three-leaf clover on the front page.

Various cheers and murmurs of exclamation were heard. And everyone new owner was first and foremost expressing his joy.

"This is my grimoire!" One girl said with joy. "Look! Mine is bigger." "Mine's thicker!" two guys were comparing them. Their grimoire.

"I can take over my family business!" one other young man shouted. "And we're going to take the test in six months to join the magic knights." A group of guys announced to the admiration of their surroundings.

As for Asta…

"Hum… My grimoire's not coming." Asta said to the bewilderment of everyone present.

"…Try again next year." The old man in charge simply replied.

Everyone started laughing at him. The people of the church looked dumbfounded.

"What the heck?!" "That's too funny!"It's actually amazing!"

Some were outright jeering at him.

"I guess that's what you can expect from the slums. How pathetic." The same man that boasted about trying to enroll in the knights said.

Until everyone shut up for a different reason. Yuno received his grimoire. Everyone stared at him.

Just like the first Wizard King of old, he had received a four-leaf clover emblem on the front cover of his grimoire.

"I'll become the Wizard King," Yuno announced bluntly to the crowd. And absolutely everyone started to cheer.

Until the whole tower started to shake.

"What's happening?" "Hey, is that normal?" many people started to panic. The onlookers looked as if it was an unusual phenomenon.

"Everybody, calm down!" said the old master, raising his hand in a stopping motion to try and appease the crowd. "It is something that rarely happens; it just means someone not chosen is about to receive his grimoire!"

Asta? Immediately, Yuno thought to his rival. But as he looked to the other friend he came with, that hope was quickly put aside.

Aurora was shining, not unlike the grimoires before. She started to levitate, and all around, the people stared at her. She didn't look like she knew what was happening.

And from the shaking tower, one single grimoire came at her.

And that grimoire didn't have a cover. Like a cylinder, its pages were turning and turning without stopping.

There wasn't any clover on it. Nothing. Only blank pages, ready to be filled. Like a story waiting to happen.

It lasted a grand total of five seconds before Aurora was gently deposited on the ground, the light fading.

"What was that? And look at her grimoire… It has no cover! So weird!"

"Is that powerful? Weak? It's so weird!"

"Every people of this church is a weirdo!"

Aurora ignored the crowd. Nor did she pay attention to Asta and Yuno. The girl didn't even realize Asta didn't receive a grimoire. It was like she was in a trance. The grimoire was captivating her most intensely.

She didn't even realize that the master of the tower looked at her strangely.

"This young woman tome… Could it be? The last one to obtain such a tome as I recall is…"

She was staring straight at her grimoire, just feeling the raw power emanating from it.

"No one has a grimoire like that… Only me. I am… Special… Why? Why am I special? Is it good? Is it bad? Who am I? What should I do? I…"

The more she thought about it, the more she became overwhelmed. Was it the grimoire's power?

"Aurora-chan." A voice brought her out of her spiral.

"Sister! You surprised me. What is it?" Aurora replied, forcing a smile on her face.

"It's time to go. Everyone is leaving." Lily informed her, showing the people leaving the tower.

"Ah… Hm. How about Yuno and Asta? Sorry, I didn't pay much attention…" asked Aurora sheepishly. Indeed, she didn't know anything about what happened to her friends. When she thought about the power she felt back then, the feeling of being called by this grimoire, she felt like losing herself again.

"Well, Yuno got a four-leaf clover grimoire!" Father Orsi answered instead of Lily, "And Asta, well… Nothing at all. But you! What about this strange grimoire? Think you can use it?" he asked her.

"Ah? Hm… No problem, I can feel the power coming from it… But…"

The enthusiasm she felt at hearing about Yuno's grimoire, and the question she could think at the tip of her tongue died instantly when she learned that Asta wasn't chosen.

"There must be some kind of mistake. For Asta not to be chosen… Something's wrong." Muttered Aurora.

"Well, he can always try next year, but I don't think anything will change…" the father continued.

"Your favoritism toward Yuno is becoming old, father Orsi…" Aurora scolded the old man.

"By the way, where are Yuno and Asta? Aren't they with us?" Aurora asked. She needed to think of something else. Not her grimoire. Not Asta. "I wanted to see Yuno awesome grimoire too!" she forced a smile on her face. Her eyes weren't really shining like usual either.

If the sister had noticed, she didn't say anything. "I think he stayed behind; he wanted to check something, he told us. And Asta… Well, I'd rather leave him alone for the moment… He needs a bit of space." Replied the sister, a small smile on her lips.

"I see… I'm sorry, I need to be left alone for a while. Go without me; I'll join you shortly." She left the other behind without waiting for their answer. Her head was spinning.

First, her coverless grimoire.

Then, Yuno got a four-leaf clover, a sign of greatness.

And Asta got nothing. Asta got nothing. Her hero wasn't chosen. What gives?

"My wristband… give it back… Please… I just showed it to you because you told me you knew something about it…" A younger Aurora sniffed.

"Ehhhh? But I know what that is. And I know there is some weird-ass collector that will pay a pretty penny for that. Same for the pendant, too pretty for a poor orphan to have. Kukukuku!" taunted the bad guy in front of her and Yuno.

They were just talking a walk around the village when a guy accosted them. All smiles, he told them he knew something about Yuno's pendant and her wristband. Once he gave the objects a look around, he cruelly smiled and refused to give them back, taunting and mocking the two little kids.

"Unless you've got a problem with that. In this world, magic is everything! Do you want to have a magic duel with me and die?" the man sneered at them.

Aurora and Yuno could only tremble in fear and cry. They were just powerless. This man would take away the most precious object to them.

At that moment, a slight blur rushed the man, uncaring about the thoughts of his petrified friends.

"That belongs to my friends! To Aurora and Yuno! You give it back!" Asta roared angrily. He was staring at the bad man in defiance, fearlessly.

"Get off me, you little punk!" the man screamed. When Asta got up and rushed at him again, the man strikes him again. "You dirty little shit!" And yet, Asta got up and went at it again.

"I won't give up!" And again. "I'm not done yet!" And again. "I'm not done yet!"

"Asta…" Yuno and Aurora could only watch in silent admiration and fear as their friend got hit violently, only to get up and tried to stop the man.

Again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.

"Not yet."

"…Fine, you can have it back!" The man threw the wristband and the pendant to the ground before looking at Asta in disgust, turning his back and leaving the place.

Asta fell to the snowy ground, and Aurora and Yuno went immediately to his side, tears of worry and recognition in their eyes.

"Thank you, Asta! But your state, you're beaten black and blue…" Aurora started to cry, full of worries. She did not know what to make of her hands.

"Are you okay, Asta?" Yuno asked. "We-we need to get him to Sister Lily! He's-he's really hurt!" blabbered Aurora.

Unbothered, Asta moved and raised his upper body off the ground. He breathed out.

"Magic is everything in this world, eh…? Then, I'll become someone… Even though I'm a poor orphan who can't use magic yet… I'll show this guy and everyone! That even people like us can become someone amazing! That we can decide to become anything we want! And me… I'll become the Wizard King!"

At that moment, something happened in Yuno and Aurora's minds.

You can become anything. Hope… Hope exists.

This audacious and idealist kid had become a hero to the young girl. The bold image of him, rising up even though he was beaten down, had never disappeared, not in her mind, and not in Yuno's too.

"Then, I'll become the Wizard King too!" Yuno decided. It was like something happened to him too.

"And I will…"

Asta gave me hope. He showed us a way to move forward. No matter how far away Yuno went ahead, no matter how much I progressed too… He was there, coming along with us…

"Not chosen? What is wrong with this?"

Yuno is probably thinking the same as I.

Aurora ran back towards the tower. Fortunately, it wasn't very far. And after five minutes of running at considerable speed, she managed to see the building ahead of her.

Before hearing a large noise. Like something hitting a wall a bit too fast.

From the left! Aurora thought. She rushed at the place and saw a passage behind a stone wall. After following it, she quickly arrived at some kind of courtyard.

She saw Yuno and Asta fist-bumping, and Asta had a grimoire.

She saw a man who fainted on the wall, and he was nearly on top of the wall.

"Did Asta throw him that far? Or was it Yuno?"

"What happened here, guys? Are you okay?!"

"Auroraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Look, look, look! My grimoire! I have a grimoire!" Asta shouted in pure joy.

"Uwaaaaaaaa, I knew it! When they told me you didn't receive anything, I thought something was wrong!' Aurora hugged him, relieved. "And-and-and? What can you do?" She asked him, stars in her eyes. "He looks really old!" she added, eyeing the admittedly worn-out grimoire.

"THIS! Look at my blade! I can cut magic with it!" Asta declared with enthusiasm.

"Uwaaaaaaaaa! Anti-magic? We will have to try so many things back home, right Yuno?!"

"You can't be serious," Yuno replied, a faint smile on the lips.

"Aurora's right! Let's go home and prepare for the exam! I'll race youuuuuuuuuuuu!" Asta cried before running at top speed.

"… He is cheating, right?" Aurora asked. "He ran before we were ready." Replied Yuno.

"… Did he save you again? From this guy?" Aurora asked him, smiling while pointing at the still fainted guy.

"…Yeah. I can't fall behind him now. Never." Said Yuno seriously.

"Let me give you a push then. This one time. Between people who owe him one." Said Aurora while making her grimoire materialize. "Look at this grimoire, though… It looks like we three are special in our own way…" she smiled wryly.

"Your grimoire is strange. And? At this rate, Asta is going to win."

"Time Accelerating Magic: Tempus Accel!" Aurora read the first spell her grimoire actually possessed. The spell appeared while she was running back to the tower, worried for Asta.

Some kind of weird clock appeared on hers, and Yuno's head before everything felt really light.

"Let's fly, Yuno!" And with that, they ran.

Faster than anything before. So fast, they had to be careful not to trip. And it didn't look like this spell make the two of them more tired more quickly.

"The stamina consumption is really inexistent! Time is weird!" Aurora thought, smiling.

No, they were just running faster than ever. So quickly, they felt like flying. They felt freedom.

And more importantly, they were gaining on Asta, who was still fast despite being more tired than them.

And they overtook him.

"Bwuh? Where did you come from?" shouted Asta, bewildered.

"From behind. You thought you'd win against either of us? Never, Asta." Yuno simply replied.

The spell canceled itself. The change in rhythm threw Aurora and Yuno nearly to the ground. Asta took advantage of that to come up at their level.

"Was that your magic, Aurora? Uwoooooo! I won't lose!" Asta said while pushing himself to run faster.

"I won't lose either!" Aurora replied.

"You can't be serious. The only winner will be me." Yuno simply stated.

The church was in sight.

Yuno was focusing all his power on his legs. He would win against Asta. And he would not lose against Aurora either.

Asta ran with an infinite second wind, not losing against Yuno's greater leg reach.

Aurora was doing her best to say at their level, herself being an outstanding runner, not losing against the two boys. Her pride in this wouldn't let her loose like this.

The end was in sight…

"UWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" the three shouted to somehow gain more speed…

"Water Creation Magic: Holy Fist of Love!" Before a giant fist of water crushed the three of them in the ground.

An angry sister Lily appeared out of thin air.

"You're all three late! You were not supposed to, but you're all doing the chores tonight!" she stated before turning back toward the church in a huff.

The three teenagers looked at each other sheepishly, water dripping from their clothes, before breaking in a snicker.

"Ah, we somehow all lost before even beginning. It's sadder than I thought. More stupid too." Aurora thought before Asta glanced at his two friends, smiling.

"Let's go, you two!"

So, just to clarify, english is not my main language. I'll probably make some mistakes here and then. :)

It's the first time I'm actually doing something like that, so I'm open to criticism. Constructive criticism! I'm trying my best here.

Also, I don't really know how to make good and interesting fighting scenes. I'll try my absolute best for now, but I plan to make Aurora kinda strong for plot reason too. I mean, time magic is OP...

That's all for now, peace!
