I looked at the flyer again. "Cirque du Freak."

I smiled to myself. Monsters. Real monsters. I couldn't wait to show my best friend Darren.

Ah. Darren. The only person who really understood me. I hugged the flyer to my chest. It began to crumpled and I stopped quickly. I quickly smoothed it out.

Time for school! I straightened my clothes and jeans and headed in to school.

I guess I was a strange girl. All my friends were guys: Alan, Tommy and Darren. Darren was my best friend. He loved spiders; I loved monsters. Especially vampires.

We couldn't be more different, but we understood each other.

"Hey guys!" I shouted. "C'mere I've got something to show you!"

They all crowded in and looked at the flyer.

"Whoooooa." They all chorused.

"I'm gonna get us tickets!" I grinned.

"Hold on," Tommy said. "Where are you gonna get the money?"

"We've been playing soccer for money for a while now." I pulled out a bundle of bills.

"Wow!" Alan said in awe.

"Here." I handed the flyer to Darren. "Pass it around, but DON'T let Dalton see it."

Darren grinned. "Sure thing, Kuri."

But unfortunately Dalton DID see it, and took off the address. Good thing I had it memorized!

I grinned at Darren and mouthed. "We're going!"
