HI Friends, Welcome To Troyella Shorts. This is just a collection of one shots that i've written throughout the last however many years its been. None of these are connected in any way. I just wanted to put them out because I enjoy them and writing these little tidbits. Most of them were supposed to be full stories but the lack of motivation/writers block got in the way. I hope you all enjoy them too :)

Step Problems.

"Mrs. Troy Bolton." She sighed, looking at herself in the mirror. This wedding was supposed to be everything. Her husband to be had already been through this. Twice. She shook her head and laughed. "Aren't I lucky enough to be the third Mrs. Troy Bolton?" She said to no one.

Her dress was long. It was white with lace sleeves and accents. It was what she always imagined… the dress at least. She glanced at the clock. She still had a good ten minutes to herself before somebody will come knocking. She turned and walked to the chair.

A soft knock came from the door. "Come in."

"Evan is such a little shit." The girl said as she blazed through the door. She shut the door behind her with a soft slam. Her blue eyes were passionate and always held a spark, just like her fathers.

Gabriella smirked at her fifteen year old soon to be step-daughter. "Ava, he's your brother."

"Barely! He's half blood and half demon!" Ava spun and her brown hair fell to her shoulders. " They both are."

"Come on, McKenzie is not that bad." Gabriella moved her hair behind her ear.

"That's because she has only spent five years with the she devil. Evan had 10!" Ava took a seat. "I am so glad-"

Gabriella looked down at the girl. Ava had all the best parts of Troy Bolton. She has his passionate personality, his clear blue eyes, his easy going nature and big heart. Ava was the college baby. Troy met Alexis the second year at Berkeley. She got pregnant. They got married. They got divorced a year later. Alexis cut her hair off and joined the peace core. Troy moved back to Albuquerque so his parents could help when he reconnected with-

"I've known Sharpay since before I could remember. She's always been the same. She only cares about herself. When Evan was born, I thought she was going to change but she didn't!"

"Ava, It's okay."

"No, it's not okay. Dad should have never broken up with you in high school." Ava looked over at Gabriella. "You should have been wife number one and only. I should have never been born."

"Okay, now you're being dramatic." Gabriella said, walking over to her. "What's going on?"

Ava sighed and looked away. "Nothing."

"Come on kid, what's up?"

"I just imagine that if you and Dad stayed together, dad would have been happier and more successful. You would have kids of your own and I don't know. It would just seem perfect."

"Well, I wouldn't trade you for the world. Evan and McKenzie are like their mother but they're like your dad too. I love you guys regardless. We fell in love at the wrong time and we had too much life ahead of us. Life is not perfect and I'm glad it's not."

"I just…" Ava sighed. "I wish you were my mom."

Gabriella smiled and shrugged. "I kind of am… or will be when I marry your dad today."

Ava laughed. "I forgot all about the wedding. You look so pretty by the way."

"Thanks." She laughed and reached over for a hug. "This is why you're my best girl."

"I'm just grateful you let me say shit whenever I want to." Ava closed her eyes as she hugged against Gabriella.

"I'm grateful that you love me and your dad together." She smoothed down the younger girl's brown hair.

"Well, honestly, anybody would have been good after Sharpay. Even my own mother, and she abandoned me."

"Ava." Gabriella scolded.

"I know, I know. My mother loves me and she just wanted the best life possible for me. She chose a path that was unfortunate to not be directly linked with mine. She is doing good and helping the world. I should be proud that she is my mother." Ava repeated in a monotone voice, the same lines her father and occasionally Gabriella would speak about her birth mother.

Gabriella laughed. "I love you."

A sudden flash went off. A head was peaking through the door with a camera. Troy's cousin, Brooke, was the wedding photographer. "Sorry. It was too perfect." Brooke said walking in the room and closing the door behind her. "We have about 10 minute before first look."

Gabriella breathed out. "Okay. Ava, are McKenzie and Evan ready?"

"McKenzie is. I don't know about Evan… He's supposed to be with Dad but he was with Grandpa the last time I saw him."

"Could you please grab them for me?" Brooke said, with a smile. "I want a couple of pictures of you three and some with your dad too before first looks."

"Alright." Ava sighed. "I'll see you later"

Gabriella smiled, kissing her forehead. "Love you." She whispered before she let the younger girl go.

"Love you." Ava went with her cousin, closing the door behind her, leaving Gabriella alone again.

Gabriella sighed to herself picking up her earring. Her life had been pretty normal for the first fifteen years. During winter break three major things happened. She moved 800 miles away from her hometown in the middle of sophomore year, she lost her virginity to a guy she met two hours before midnight, and she found the star crossed love of her life. Not particularly in that order.

Troy Bolton had that cool confidence that attracted her instantly. She knew the moment that he touched her hand, she was going to marry him. She just didn't know he'd have three kids and two ex wives before that would happen. They were fifteen when they met. They were together for three and a half years before they broke up for college. He had been with Alexis for a year and a half. He had been with Sharpay for over ten years. They'd been together again for another three and a half.

She had to say, no matter what had happened the 7 inconsistent years she had with Troy Bolton were always her best.

Gabriella put her earrings on and checked herself over in the mirror. She didn't plan for a traditional wedding, but that was okay. Her maid of honor was Ava and Troy's best man was Evan. McKenzie was the flower girl. Her mom was here and his parents were here. His parents were watching the kids for the week while she and Troy took their honeymoon.

Sharpay was in France with her new husband, Zeke. They all went to high school together. Funny enough, Sharpay was in love with Troy who was in love with Gabriella while Zeke was in love with Sharpay. It was strange how the world worked itself out.

Sharpay and Gabriella weren't close in high school. Sharpay was kind of a bitch to Gabriella but they had their shared moments of friendship. Gabriella went to California for college. Sharpay went to New York for two years before coming back to Albuquerque.

Troy and her ran into each other and caught up. They had a big wedding, or that's what Gabriella supposed from all the pictures. When Ava was five, Evan came and McKenzie five years after him. Gabriella moved back to Albuquerque to be close to her mom and decided it was the perfect place to start a law practice.

She spent eight years at Stanford studying law, doing countless internships, externships, and extracurriculars just for the day she passed the Bar exam. She practiced in California for a year and a half before she decided to move back home. It just figured that Troy Bolton would be the first person that walked through the doors of her brand new law office, seeking advice for his divorce.

The last thing she wanted to do was fall in love with the man that she hadn't seen in at least ten years. The last thing she wanted to do was fall into bed with him after their first date. The last thing she wanted to do was sit in the car and watch him tell his ex-wife and the mother of 2 of his kids that he had a new girlfriend. The last thing she wanted to do was earn that glare from her that sent her reeling back into high school.

It still felt like high school sometimes. Gabriella still got that glare from Sharpay, especially around her kids. She didn't know if Sharpay was feeling like Gabriella was trying to take her place. That, honestly, was the last thing she wanted to do. She wasn't their mother. Hell no. But she was going to be their friend, she was going to love them like they were their own regardless of anybody elses feelings about the situation. She was always going to make sure they were fed and safe, and maybe if she was lucky, good people.

She felt like she didn't have to worry about Ava. Sure, the girl was fifteen years old, but she was smart and mature. She'd been through a lot. Her mother tries to keep in contact without remaining attached and Sharpay was never very motherly towards her. Ava always felt like she just had a dad, but now she had Gabriella too.

Gabriella walked out into the hallway. Brooke was walking back with the kids. "We are ready for you, Gabi. I'm going to take a couple with you and the kids then aunt Lucy will take them for a couple minutes while I do some of you solo then with Troy."

"Sounds good." Gabi said.

"You look pretty Gabi." McKenzie said, reaching up for her hand.

"Thank you, baby. You look beautiful as well. Ev, you look very handsome." Gabi said, reaching over for Ava.

"Thanks Gabi. I don't know why I have to wear this stupid tie." Evan said struggling with the tie.

"I promise it's only for a couple hours, then we can take it off. Deal?"

"Fine." Evan let it go. He brushed his hair back.

Gabriella smiled. Evan looked like Sharpay. He had her brown eyes and short temper, but every now and then the Troy in him came out. McKenzie had brown eyes as well, she seemed to be more Troy than Sharpay. The most obvious thing linking McKenzie to Sharpay was the love of pink. Literally everything the girl owned was pink. Gabriella hoped that she liked some new colors sometime soon.

They took a couple pictures together before Brooke posed the kids. Lucy came in and took the kids away just before Gabriella and Brooke walked outside. Gabriella took pictures by herself with different poses from Brooke. She was leaning against a tree when Brooke told her to put her hands over her eyes.

Gabriella was doing as she was told. "I'm really confused." She murmured softly.

"The first look is going to be even." Brooke said. "You're going to do it at the same time."

"Okay." Gabriella said unsure.

"Troy's almost here." Brooke said. "Hey Chad."

"Hey little B." She heard Chads voice to her left. "Wow, Gabs."

"Hi Chad… Can I peak now?"

"Almost. Troy no peaking!"

Troy chuckled. "I saw nothing I swear."

"Alright, Chad move him closer. Gabs stand up straight. On the count of three okay?" Brooke instructed. "One… two… three."

Gabriella dropped her hands from her eyes and saw the love of her life standing in front of her. His blue eyes fluttered open, and he took a step back, taking her in. "Wow." Was the only words out of Troy's mouth.

Her tummy fluttered with excitement. She reached over for his hand as she lifted the other one to brush back his hair. "You look pretty wow yourself, Bolton."

"God, I love you so much." Troy murmured, closing his eyes once again. He tilted his head to rest against her hand.

"So freakin' cute. Come on, guys, we need to turn this way." Brooke said.

Gabriella held onto his hand as he led her away from the tree. "How are my kids?"

"Good, I think. Ava had a little melt down but she seems okay now."

"Did Evan take off his tie?"

"Not yet, but I'm sure he wants to."

"McKenzie?" Troy asked, leaning in to kiss her forehead.

"She said I looked pretty."

"You do." He murmured against her forehead with a smile.

"Gabi, look over here." Brooke said. Gabriella turned to look at the Camera. Troy adjusted to kiss the side of her head. "Perfect. Gabi, put your other hand on his shoulder, okay? Show off that ring."

Troy wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. "When is this wedding going to be over?"

"In a couple hours, babe." Gabriella laughed. "You're the one that wanted another wedding."

"You're right." Troy said, pulling back to smile at her. "I want to see the love of my life, walking down the aisle towards me. I want to dance with you to our song. I want have pictures so we remember this day and to show our future children."

"Children?" Gabriella laughed. "you already have three."

"Yes, but I need more to add to my collection."

"Your collection?" Gabriella smirked.

"Yes, I need a baby that looks just like you."

"You are so lucky that I love you."

"I know." He said, cupping her face. He couldn't resist. He leaned down, kissing her lips softly. "I love you."

"I love you." She said with a simple smile, leaning up to kiss him again.

They separated once more when the ceremony was about to start. Gabriella watched from the hidden balcony in their venue, everybody taking their seat and Troy and Evan standing at the altar. Ava walked out to the balcony and leaned her head against Gabriella.

"I'm so happy it hasn't rained." Ava said, looking over at her father.

"Rain is good luck, but most of the wedding is outdoors." She knocked on the wooden balcony just in case. "Ava."

"Yeah?"

"I wanted to give you something."

"How come?" Ava said, standing up straight to get a look at the older woman.

"You are my maid of honor." Gabriella said with a teasing smile. She walked into the brides' room and over to her bag. She took out a box. "I was debating on giving this to you when you graduated but I think today is as good of a time as any."

"What is it?" Ava asked anxiously.

"This is a gift from my mom when I graduated high school. It had always been my mom and I and she is my best friend and biggest fan. She is everything I hope to be when I become a mom. That day is basically today. I hope you and your siblings don't think I'm trying to replace your real mom, but I just want you to feel like you have an extra mom. I'll be there when you need me and I'd do anything for you guys." Gabriella opened the box. There was a beautiful gold locket on a delicate chain.

"Gabi." Ava bit her lip, trying to fight the tears.

"My mom was the oldest of three sisters. She got this from her mom and passed it down to me. Since you are my oldest, it's only right to pass it down to you."

"Can I wear it today?" Ava asked, picking it up from the box.

"Baby, it's yours. You can wear it whenever you want."

"I love you mom." Ava leaned up kissing Gabriella on the cheek.

"I love you too baby."

There was a soft knock at the door. "Gabs, we're ready for you."

"Coming." Gabriella called back.

"You ready?"

Gabriella smiled. "I've been ready to marry your dad since I was your age."

Gabriella held Ava's hand as they walked out the doors. Taylor handed them their bouquets and walked them to the very beginning of the walk way where Gabriella's mom was waiting for them. Maria Montez automatically burst into tears. Her only baby was getting married.

"Mom. Stop. I'm going to start and I spent a lot of money to look this pretty." Gabriella said choking back the tears.

"Sorry baby, just you two look beautiful. Ava, honey, wow."

"Thanks Grandma." She reached out to hug the older woman.

"The music is starting in thirty seconds, let me grab McKenzie." Taylor rushed back into the house and brought back McKenzie who already started throwing the rose petals in her basket. Luckily, she was going one at a time.

Gabriella smiled. "Are you ready McKenzie?"

"Yep! I want to pick up all the rose petals and keep them. They're pink!" the five year old smiled widely, running her fingers through the flowers in the basket.

Gabriella laughed. "Of course, you can keep them. Or we could just buy fresh roses every time you're at daddy's so we can always have beautiful flowers in the house."

McKenzie smiled up at her. "That's even better! Me and you can go pick them out!"

"That sounds perfect!" Gabriella knelt down to McKenzie's size. "I love you McKenzie."

"I love you too Gabi." McKenzie wrapped her arms around the woman. "Daddy is waiting for us. He looks very handsome."

"Let's go see daddy then." She said with a smile.

"Okay McKenzie, you're going after Ava." Taylor instructed.

"I know." McKenzie said nonchalantly, bringing the basket up to her nose to sniff the flowers.

Gabi laughed, standing back up. "She is her mother's baby." She whispered to Taylor.

The music changed and Ava looked back at Gabriella nervously. "Ava, go." Taylor said softly, Gabriella smiled and nodded.

Ava grinned, gripping the bouquet of flowers. She walked down the aisle slowly, grinning as she her father standing at the end. Troy covered his mouth biting back tears when he saw his daughter walking down the aisle. An image flashed in his head of his baby girl walking down the aisle to her future husband. Damn, he was not ready for that.

Ava gave her father a kiss on the cheek before taking her place.

Everybody stood as Gabriella rounded the corner. Her mother was on her arm, already crying. Gabriella almost couldn't handle it. She swallowed the lump that kept forming in her throat. She saw the smile on her man's face and nothing would ever compare.

She wanted to run down the aisle and be wrapped up in his arms but she would be there soon enough. When she reached Troy her hand was placed in his and her mother gave her a kiss on the forehead. "I love you mom." Gabriella said softly, smiling at the older woman.

"Love you too baby." Her mother said tearfully before turning around to take her seat.

"Please, be seated." The officiate between them said. "We are gathered here today to witness Troy and Gabriella finally get married. Their journey was a bumpy one but every single moment has lead to this point."

Gabriella wiped her eyes, thinking back and that statement could not have been more true.

"First, they would like to thank you all for coming and being a part of this beautiful occasion. Love is a wonderful thing. It brought these two together at such a young age. It created three beautiful children. I know it will stay in full bloom between these two."

"Who gives this woman to this man to wed in holy matrimony?"

Gabriella's mother stood up. "I do."

"Who gives this man to this woman to wed in holy matrimony?"

Ava stepped forward. "Evan, McKenzie and I do."

"We are going to keep these short and sweet. Gabriella and Troy have decided to write their own vows to each other. Troy, you're up."

Troy grinned at his love and pulled a paper out of his pocket. He cleared his throat briefly. "My love, I can't believe this day had finally come. I remember when we were fifteen and you said yes to being my girlfriend. I thought that was the happiest day of my life and I didn't think I could possibly love you more than I did at that moment. It was nothing compared to this right here, right now. I vow to be your best and closest friend. I vow to be the man that you envisioned when you were a little girl, with this day in mind. I vow to be perfectly imperfect and apologize for every time my pride gets in the way. I vow to love you more every second of every day. I vow to be your rock that keeps you grounded and the hand that's always there to hold. I vow to give you backrubs without ulterior motives. I vow to travel with you, to sit on the couch with you. To communicate my feelings with you and listen to you when you need to be heard. I vow to stand by your side through this crazy ride called life. I vow to be yours for as long as you'll take me: which is going to be forever because you don't have a choice."

Gabriella laughed as Troy started to fold the paper. "That's not what it days." Gabriella grabbed the paper and opened it again. She laughed even harder. "Troy!"

"That's what it says!" Troy said with a grin and a shrug. He folded the paper and put it in his suit pocket.

"Gabriella" The officiate motioned.

Gabriella turned to Ava. Ava handed over the paper that she strategically placed in the bouquet. Gabriella grinned at Troy, opening the paper. "Troy, I vow to come to all of your rec league basketball games, even if they are outside and it's cold. I vow to make chocolate brownies for your birthday every year. I vow to not bug you too much when you're watching sports center and I vow to even watch it with you sometimes. I vow to not take my work home with me and I vow to take a vacation alone with you every year. I vow to you that you will never have to be alone or scared or in legal trouble because you married a lawyer and I will kick your ass. I vow to be the anchor that holds you down when your ideas and dreams take you to the stars. I vow to stand by your side through thick and thin and be your best friend and you helping hand when you need it. I vow to love you even when it gets hard and we think we can't go on. You are everything I need and want in a life partner and I am so incredibly blessed that I get to spend the rest of my life with you and your babies. I vow to love your kids like my own and help them become the successful and wonderful people they are bound to be. And finally, I vow to spend this lifetime and many more loving you with my whole heart."

Troy grasped her hands and gave them a tight squeeze. "Now, we are going to exchange the rings that symbolize love with no beginning and end. They symbolize your commitment to each other and to the family you are creating. It is a circle that symbolizes the love that you give will come back again."

"Troy, do you take Gabriella to be your wife? To love wholly and forever more?"

"I do." Troy murmured, sliding the ring on her finger.

"Gabriella, do you take Troy to be your husband? To love wholly and forever more?"

She grasped his hand, sliding the gold band to his finger. "I do."

"It is at this time, Troy's children would like to come up and say a couple words."

Gabriella turned back to see Ava smiling. Ava stood in front of the bride and groom, as did Evan and McKenzie. "So Evan, McKenzie and I wrote this for you guys and we thought it would be a nice surprise for you both. McKenzie is going to go first." Ava announced.

McKenzie stepped up. "Daddy, I love you more than pink. You are the greatest daddy in the world. Thank you for loving me and playing with me all the time. Gabi, you are prettier than my dolls. I love you too and I am so happy you are going to be my step-mommy."

Evan stood up straight. "Dad, I'm happy that you're really happy with Gabi. Thank you for being an awesome dad and taking me to basketball games. Gabi, you're really cool and thank you for always helping me with my homework. You're really smart and I think that's cool. I can't wait for you to take me to the courtroom and show me cool lawyer stuff."

"I don't know if I can get through this without crying." Ava said with a laugh. "Daddy, you mean the world to me. I know that I don't say it enough but I love you more than you could know. Gabi, you're my best friend and you're the best mom that I could ask for. You know that I am so happy for you both and I can't wait until I get another brother or sister. Gabi, you love me more than you should and I don't know how I can ever thank you for being there for me. I can't wait for you guys to come home from your honeymoon and we can just be a family."

Gabriella bit back tears, hugging the younger girl. "I love you guys so much, Evan come here." She wrapped Evan in a tight hug. "Thank you Evan, that was really sweet of you."

Troy hugged McKenzie then his oldest daughter. Then he hugged his son when Gabi let him go. Gabriella picked up McKenzie, kissing her face. "I love you kid." Troy kissed his sons head.

The kids returned to their places and Gabriella turned to Troy. "Throughout this ceremony, we have seen how much this family loves each other. They vowed to love each other and symbolized their love with their rings. So, by the power given to me by the state of New Mexico, I pronounce this couple husband and wife. Troy, you may kiss your bride."

Troy pulled her in by the waist, leaning down to kiss her lips. Gabriella giggled as she held the back of his head. He leaned in to deepen the kiss, holding his fist up proudly. She pecked his lips twice before pulling away.

"I, now, announce this wonderful couple for the very first time- Mr. and Mrs. Troy and Gabriella Bolton."

Everybody stood up and clapped. Gabriella clasped her hand around her husbands' and made their way up the aisle.
