Chapter 1

Location: Unknown

Time: Noon

'Something's wrong' Was my first thought after waking up, there were a myriad of reasons for this thought, the fact that my bed seems to be rocking gentle, the power breeze that blew my hair around, or the incredibly bright sunlight that shown directly into my closed eyelids and yet did not bother my eyes in the slightest.

It could have been any of those things.

But it wasn't.

No, I knew something was up because I felt incredible. Yeah, that might sound strange but take into consideration that I am not a wake-up kind of guy. I'm a sleep 12 hours wake up still sleepy and roll over for another twenty minutes minimum kind of guy. Not today though today my body practically sang with overflowing energy more then I can remember ever having. And it wasn't just that I felt STRONG all caps. Like ready to throw a car strong, and the long I laid there the better I felt. Like the sun was giving me a full body massage or something.

As much as my lazy mind wanted to just stay there and bask in my newfound amazingness, the near overwhelming energy I feel demanded I get up and do something, anything, so I started by opening my eyes. And that's when all the other shit I had barely paid any attention to came front and center. My popcorn white ceiling was nowhere to be found in the startling clear blue sky above. My bed was now a large piece of wood that just barely held my body lying down. And surrounding me on all side was the crystal blue waters of some unknown ocean.

Panic came fast, panic came strong. All other thoughts blown out of my head by one all-consuming and very prevalent thought.

'I can't swim'

I'd like to say I managed to calm down, that I took several deep calming breaths and within moment was back in control of myself and my thought. I'd like to but no ones around to hear my bald-face lie. It took until the sun, which had been right above me when I woke, had begun to set before I manage some semblance of control. Even then I couldn't bring myself to rock the piece of driftwood I was now stuck on for who knows how long.

'Ok, now that I've calm down somewhat let's think this out, I went to bed at home, after getting off work, and now I'm floating on a piece of wood in the middle of the ocean. Even my roommate wouldn't do something as fucked up as that. So, either someone broke into my apartment in the middle of the day, seeing as I work graveyard shifts, got past my two roommates one of which is always home, kidnapped me, proceed to due all manner of experiments on me, because this isn't the body type I went to sleep in, before dumping me on a piece of driftwood and sending it out to sea. So, it's clear what happened.'

"Motherfucking ROBing son of a bitch!!!!" I scream at the top of my lungs, which is incredibly impressive now. It's the only answer I could think of/Hope for. Being a huge anime and fanfiction reader, I recognize the trope, of going to sleep only to wake up in a bizarre and often deadly situation with no knowledge on how you got there. No to mention my body. I went to sleep an out of shape tall and lean 24-year-old black man with a mini fro that had to go. Now I would say I was 13 or 14 but kids that age don't have muscle like the ones I'm currently sporting. I had the legs of a professional track star and the torso of freaking Superman with arms to match. My curl black afro is now straight, faded on the sides and much shorter up top. The look I got of my face when I attempted to splash water on it to calm down showed me that my dark, nearly black, brown eyes were now a calm and beautiful blue and the face staring back at me, was some idealize version of my original, all blemishes gone perfect straight white teeth and zero facial hair, which is how I guessed my age, and a jawline so chiseled I wouldn't be surprised if Di Vinci himself had a hand in it.

All together it was still me but all the flaws I once saw in myself are gone. Also, for some reason I looked like I could be the son of black Superman. All that brought me to the hear and now, sitting with my legs crossed on a piece of would in an ocean my American education never prepared me to identify let alone survive. Heading towards what sounded like a prehistoric zoo. After my little panic attack, I realized all my sense were dialed up to like 25 out 10, another marked improvement over the 6 I'd have given them before. As well as another point for my black Superboy theory, but I may just be projecting my hopes on unrelated data.

Anyway, I can just make out what sounds like roaring of animals coming from ahead of me which I hope isn't just me hallucinating, with it I can also hear what sounds like periodic explosions. So clearly, I'm heading to Jurassic Park. Honestly death by prehistoric monsters is preferable to death by drowning. So, I lay down on my stomach, concentrate on where the noise is coming from and began to paddle. Long, smooth and powerful strokes send me rocketing ahead much fasted then the slow current I was on and seeing how it is taking me hardly any effort, enhanced strength confirmed so this may not be all in my head.

It's taken several nearly an hour of constant paddling before land appears in the distant and by this point the sun is just about set the last rays peaking over the horizon before fading away. I feel marginally weak and seem to be tiring somewhat now that the sun is gone. But now I have a goal, so I keep paddling make sure to keep the Island in my sights. I hit the island a bit over an hours later breathing heavily and arms dead, guess even possible Superboys have limits. Even with out the use of my arms I quickly crawl my way up the beach and drop underneath a nearby tree away from the deadly water. Now as much as I want to call it a day and just go to sleep, I knew that would be asking for something to come along and eat me. And judging by all the noise I'm currently picking up on it wouldn't be too long after I close my eyes.

The creatures on this island, though I haven't seen any yet, were Huge with a capital H. I must thank the ROB that sent me hear for making my new senses completely intuitive as if I'd always had them because I'm sure with all the stuff I'm picking up now I would have been catatonic and dead by this point. The sounds coming from the jungle are both Terrifying in its implication and amazing if even a quarter of the stuff I'm hearing is real.

That's for later exploration right now I need to find somewhere safe to bunker down, nighttime is when the real predators come out, and even if I'm in a body with superhuman strength and endurance I'm not going start testing my limits on whatever is making the ground shake with every step. My first thought on shelter was a cave, good cover with one entrance so nothing could sneak up on me but realistically what are the odds I'd find an uninhabited cave while fumbling around at night. Even if I did chances are the original was just out hunting and is now pissed off that some tried to steal its home. Yeah, I have super strength now but, how many life-or-death battles do you think I've been in over the years. Exactly zero. So, fighting a wild animal over it home is a no go for me.

Maybe an open field would be better somewhere I can see in all directions and run and whatever direction the scary sounds aren't coming from. But again, that just asking for a sleepless night of worry and possibly being surrounded but some kind of pack animal. Eventually I just decided to find a tall tree and climb. By this point feeling had returned and I could move them again. I looked around a bit using my hearing to stir clear of any worrying sounds and newly discovered night vision to locate ground trouble. I eventually found a tree that was suitable tall and with no other to close by would give me an unobstructed view of the ground. I started climbing. I went up as high as I could while keeping in mind my need to lay down, luckily, I found just the spot. Several branches seemed to have been tangled up, growing in such a way that it made a very convent structure that looked tailor made for something to lay down in. I tested the edges to make sure they were firm then moved closer to the center though there was a little give the spot remain firm. I gingerly lay down in the center and after not falling through to my immediate death I allow my body to relax.

Yesterday I woke up feeling amazing then terrified, today already shaking things up by waking me up terrified. Why? Well, waking up to a giant monster with teeth bigger than my head staring at me while chomping down on something with gusto would be my first complaint. After my very manly and not at all high pitch screa-er roar. Reflex took over and I found myself rolling away from the monster. Completely forget that I had bunked in a tree last night so down I went. I reached out to several branch trying to stop my fall, but the fear induced wake up call turned my natural control over my strength disappeared taking several tree branches with it as I made mulch out of the limbs.

I land on my feet cratering the ground but no worse for ware, the relief at being alive after my tumble was short lived as I remember what caused the incident in the first place. Looking around for and escape my eyes land on the beast that decided to give me a good morning kiss and I was dumbstruck.

"Is that a brachiosaurus?" The words slip from my mouth without thought as I stared up and up and up and up at the very big dinosaur. The creature paid me less then zero attention as it continued to munch on the tree I claimed. Now this is the point were most would relax probable remembering that Brachiosaurus are herbivores, but you know what else are herbivores, elephants and they kill 500 people a year. So, I calmly turn and sprint away from the massive creature of sure death. Now that the suns out I feel invigorated so it's not too long before I'm far away from the tree and the creature. My stomach rumbles signaling this as a good time to find something to eat, it doesn't take long before I find a tree laden with bright yellow exotic fruit. I jump up and snag a few before biting into one hoping my new endurance comes with poison immunity or something. The fruit are sweet a nice blend between a cantaloup and a mango. It takes about ten of the things before I'm stated, which considering they're each the size of my head makes no sense. Choking it up to my new body I head off in a random direction hoping to find evidence that I'm in an alternate universe where dinosaurs are alive and that I haven't been sent to the past. Though considering all the clearly active volcanoes I'm seeing that's not looking likely.

*BLOOOM* Just then one of them decide that now would be a great time to erupt, causing this extremely hot and humid jungle to feel several degrees cooler or that could be the dread.

*BlooomBlooomBlooom* The volcano goes off several more times before I realize I wasn't about to be cover in hot death. Giving the fact I didn't fly when I fell out of the tree earlier my superman son's theory was taking a beating. The volcano seems to have given up on causing my cardiovascular problems for now going back to just bellowing out large plumes of smoke. I decide to continue my exploration, till the ground started shaking again. I froze pushing my hearing to the limit to see which direction it was coming from. Only to be filled with more dread as it seems to be coming from two different directions. It sounds like footsteps. I launch myself into a nearby tree, the little voice in my head pointing out how impossible that jump should have been but now is not the time. I climb as high as I can my fear of falling noticeable demised after surviving the first time. And proceed to watch for a change.

It became extremely obvious what was making the sound, but my brain was current having a melt down at what I was seeing. Coming from my left was a giant, and I mean that literally, it was a man the size of a building. He wore a metal gold colored helmet that came down past his eyebrows, a dark purple cloak over his shoulders with no shirt, a thick belt covering his stomach with multiple medal squares. A belt and a buckle that seemed to be made to hold something most likely the giant sword he carried in his right hand or possible the enormous shield he carried in his left. A white fur belly wormer and light brown pants and boots completed the assemble. Thought the black beard that reach all the way down to his waist really sold the barbarian giant look.

Coming from my right was a second Giant not as tall as the first but defiantly a giant. He was round but I knew he was the equal of the first, he also wore a cloak over his shoulders this on a light blue. A red and silver helmet with to metal spike sticking out of it. He had a thick beard as well though not as long, his was a blond color. He wore what I can only describe as barbarian overalls to leather straps connected by metal to a red coving lined with white fur a leather belt just like the others but probably made for the massive axe and shield, he carried with him. He wore striped pants and brown leather shoes. But the most attention-grabbing thing was the moment the saw each other they began to laugh.

"Jhabababababababa"

"Ghegagagagagagaga"

"No fucking Way"
