Ch1
Bianca di Angelo had never been in such a bind before. She honestly felt as if she were at a crossroads and that her decision would have far reaching consequences. She and Nico had been at this school for a while and while she always knew that they were different the news that they were descendants of a Greek god was a shock to both of them. Then there was Artemis, a goddess that was providing her with a new life that she never imagined possible. Artemis had told her about her hunt and how she could be free from responsibility and live the life she had always wanted.
She sat down between the goddess and Percy Jackson who had just saved her. She honestly didn't know what to think, she wanted freedom from all the responsibilities yet she did not know Artemis even though she felt safe to her.
"So Bianca di Angel what is your choice?" Artemis asked.
She bit her lip, "I-I'm not sure sorry."
"Its ok," Percy said giving her a tired look. "You are new to this world I get that but maybe try and see what camp is like before leaving for the hunt. I mean what if your brother needs you?"
"The camp can take care of him," Zoe said. "Besides the hunt is perfect for females."
"Yeah but she shouldn't just leave and abandon her brother to stay in a cabin with a bunch of strangers. What kind of sibling would do that," Percy snapped. Zoe looked like she wanted to punch him but Artemis stooped her. Percy then stared at her, "Look I know what its like to feel like you have to take care of someone when you want to do your own thing. But you don't know me or Artemis why not check out the camp first before making a decision to leave your only family behind there. You should make a decision like only after seeing what it's like."
That idea hit her hard; yeah she wanted freedom and the Hunters seemed appealing but that doubt did creep into her head. She didn't know this camp or Percy or even Artemis. They seemed nice but she didn't know them. What if Nico ends up hurt or runs away? The feeling left a pit in her stomach, she can't just abandon him like this. I should check it out first, I mean I don't know what type of people are there.
She cleared her throat and all eyes turned to her, "I want to join the hunters but can I see what the camp is like first just to make sure everything is safe for my brother?"
Artemis stared at her, for a god she swore she saw understanding in her eyes. "Of course you can join the hunt whenever you want," she said with a smile. "I know what it is like to have a brother who can get on your nerves. How about this, I will be doing a small excursion by myself in the meantime explore the camp and when I am done I'll send a messenger to see if you still want to join or not."
Percy and Zoe remained silent both appearing to have no problem with her decision. She thought over the decision in her head. I mean I could just make sure that the camp is safe for him and that he is getting along with everybody. She looked up at Artemis, "I accept that offer."
Artemis smiled at her, "Excellent, during your stay feel free to sit and mingle with my hunters. Zoe will watch over you while I am away." Zoe nodded while Percy appeared accepting of the decision. "Alright then let us wait for my brother to get here," Artemis said standing up.
Bianca stood up and did a small bow before turning back return to her brother. She found Nico talking with Grover who was actually a Satyr. When Nico saw her he jumped ran up to her and hugged her. "Bianca what happened?" He asked.
She smiled and sighed, "We are going to a camp," she said with a sigh. The way he looked at her was like a lost puppy, she knew she was tired of being in charge of him but he was her brother and she should at least see how this camp was before deciding to go to the hunters.
Nico smiled at her, "Cool, Grover was telling me about it. Its like Mythomagic in real life!" Nico seemed to be excited, almost as if he were going on an adventure.
She sighed, "Yeah but lets be safe we don't know what this place is like ok?" She felt tired, the day had been long and she really just wanted to rest instead of watching over her brother.
Nico nodded eagerly and the two waited until a bright car appeared. She remained silent and listened to talk about random things and making sure he didn't bother Percy who appeared annoyed with her brother, not that she could blame him since his friend sacrificed herself for them.
The ride to the camp was a little rocky as she sat next to Nico, she wanted to be with the hunters and was offered to sit with them but her brother wasn't allowed to sit with them. Nico wouldn't stop talking to her and she found herself zoning out and looking around at the hunters who gave her a sympathetic look. They look so happy and carefree she couldn't help but feel a pang of longing while looking at them, she wanted that freedom. I'll just see what the camp is like then I will join.
"So what do you think the camp will be like?" Nico asked.
She was snapped out of her thoughts as she turned to her brother who had an excited look on his face. "Oh um I think it will be ok," she said forcing a smile on her face. She always had on when trying to reassure him. "Lets try to not get into any trouble first though ok?" Nico nodded eagerly and she continued to hear him ramble on about Mythomagic. She tried to him out, she was honestly thinking about the hunters still about the hunters. I wonder how I can tell him, he at least deserves that.
She continued to think about her thoughts as her mind debate the hunters. Eventually, the bus landed and they got off with Percy and the hunters. She looked around the camp, it looked nice and safe. She honestly never felt a place could be this safe. "Hey Nico," she said but he was already gone talking to some guy. Oh god she thought as she ran up to him. "Sorry sir I hope he wasn't causing trouble."
"Bianca this is Mr. D," Percy said introducing them.
She nodded, "Nice to meet you," she could tell by the man's presence and his gaze that he was a god as well.
"Hey Bianca he is Dionysus," Nico said with a smile on his face. "He is super strong."
She watched as Dionysus appeared to enjoy the praise, "Why yes I am. Now Peter Johnson show them to the Hermes Cabin, then Mr. Underwood can take them to the orientation video."
Percy and Grover nodded and first took them to a cabin that was full of people. They carefully set their things down before Grover led them to a small room with a video projector and a movie played. The movie was alright though Nico kept on making commentary which she ignored.
When they were done they were given a quick tour by Grover and afterwards they ate lunch. She ate with the Hermes Cabin and longingly stared at the Hunters at their table. They look so happy she thought as she watched them talk about their lives. She felt a pang of guilt, yeah she cared about her brother but she also wanted her life and deep down she had already made her choice. I just wonder how he will take it? She thought as she poked at her food and watched her brother argue about Mythomagic with some of the other boys at the table.
After the day they went to their cabin and since they were not claimed they stayed at the Hermes Cabin and slept on the floor. "Hey Bianca this place is cool right?" Nico asked as he placed his sleeping bag next to hers.
She looked at her brother and gave him a small smile, "Yeah it's alright. I hope we can enjoy it here, it seems safe."
Nico nodded, "I know I will this place is so cool!"
She smiled at her brother before turning in her sleeping bag and going to sleep. She felt her mind wander into a dream. A dark room with a throne in the middle with a man seated in it. She couldn't explain it but she felt that the man was looking at her and he seemed very familiar. The man peered at her with his eyes and she had this feeling that he could see her. She was frozen, not knowing what to say or do.
"So you are thinking of joining with my niece?" The man said with a blank look on his face.
"Who are you?" She asked.
The man only chuckled, "You'll learn soon enough. If you want to join those Hunters the decision is yours but remember to study your decisions wisely. But remember I may have plans for you in the future."
"Wait who are you?" She called out. She couldn't explain it but this man seemed familiar.
The man's face softened for a bit, "Be safe and choose wisely your next course of action."
The dream then ended and she woke up. "Who was that," she muttered as she looked at Nico who was still sleeping next to her. She let out a sigh I should be honest with him but I know the decision that I will make. Deep down she knew what she wanted, she wanted freedom and the opportunity to live her life. I will join the hunters Nico, sorry but I made up my decision. Once I figure out if this camp is 100% safe for you I will join the hunters.
The next few days she and Nico got used to the camp. Zoe ended up going on a quest to save Artemis and took Thalia and another huntress with her promising to send someone to check up on her when Artemis was recovered. Percy snuck out and followed her leaving and her and Nico alone. She noticed that Nico was sad that Percy left without saying goodbye but there was nothing she could do.
Nico loved the camp and she saw the way he marveled at every little thing. He was a bit sad that Percy left without saying goodbye but she reassured him that he will be safe. She enjoyed it too but found it tedious to constantly watch over him and she had to admit it she was getting tired of watching over him constantly making sure he was ok. She hung out with the hunters and the other females and felt as if she were gaining a bigger picture of the Camp, it was a safe place.
The days passed by and her decision did not waver. As much as she loved her brother she wanted to join the hunters. She was sitting in her cabin when Nico ran up to her one day. "Hey Bianca Percy is back!" He said with a wide smile on his face.
"That's nice," she said as she felt a pit in her stomach. It's now or never, I owe it to him at least to tell him.
"I'm going to see him," Nico said as he turned around.
"Wait Nico!" She said loudly then she intended.
Nico turned to her surprised that she raised her voice at him. "What is it?"
She sighed, "We need to talk lets go," she said seriously.
Nico gave her a puzzled look but nodded as they walked around the camp. She told him about her plan to join the hunters. For once Nico remained quiet, his blank as she told him her plans. "Nico I need to do this," she said with a sigh.
Nico stared at her with a blank expression. "Y-You are leaving?" he said, his voice sounding close to a whimper.
"Yes but I will be back I promise. Artemis will protect me," she said reassuringly.
"Bianca di Angelo," said a familiar voice. She turned to see Thalia and Artemis by the trees. "Have you made your decision?" Artemis asked as they approached her and Nico.
She nodded, "Yes I have. I wish to join the hunt," her voice was firm and she ignored Nico's shocked expression.
"Good now repeat after me," Artemis said as she said the oath. She repeated the oath word for word and when she was done Artemis smiled at her. "Good. I accept your pledge."
She noticed Nico's face was blank and he took a step back from her as she felt a silver aura around her. She felt stronger and more confident.
"Welcome sister," Thalia said extending her hand.
She shook it and smiled, "Thank you."
"Remember your pledge," Artemis said. "Now pack your things."
"I don't have any possessions," she said as she turned to Nico. "Be safe Nico I promise I will be back."
Nico only stared at her and nodded, "I'll miss you," he said in a soft voice. "Be safe. I-I'll call you."
She smiled and nodded at her brother. "I'll miss you too, don't get into any trouble ok." Her brother only nodded. For once she wished that he would say something, anything but he only stared at her with wide eyes as she turned around to face Artemis and Thalia. "I am ready."
"Good then come on; we have a lot of things to do," Artemis said. She nodded as she followed Them into the woods not even looking back at Nico or the camp.
Nico didn't know how to react as he ran to a quiet place. He felt the tears fall from his cheeks as he sat down on an isolated rock near the trees. "Why Bianca," he whimpered as he felt the tears fall down his cheeks. He loved the camp; it was as if he were in his Mythomagic game were brought to life. Why would she just leave the camp and him?
A million thoughts ran through his head. Did he do something wrong? He always gave her his attention and showed helped her out their short week at camp. He was so preoccupied with his thoughts that he didn't hear the footsteps behind him. "Hey what's wrong," said a sweet feminine voice.
He turned around and saw a pretty girl, one of the older campers. She is from the Aphrodite Cabin. The girl gave him a tissue as she gave him a warm smile. "You are new right? It must be hard, my name is Silena," She said with a warm smile as she sat down next to him.
Nico cleaned his face as he smelled her perfume. "Thanks, your mom is Aphrodite right?"
"Yes that is right?" Silena said with a smile. "You have a sister right?"
He felt a dagger in his chest as he broke down, he didn't know how to feel about his sister leaving. "Yes," he managed to say.
"I'm sorry did something happen?" Silena asked as she handed him another tissue. "It is alright I am here, you can tell me anything." She patted his back and he felt calmed by her presence. It was as if her words were filled with comfort and he felt obliged to tell her.
"My sister Bianca," he said as he cleaned his face with the tissue. "She joined the hunters," the words were like daggers. He didn't know why she would just make this decision and leave him. "She left me here all alone," he whimpered.
Silena gave him a sympathetic look, "I am sorry to hear that. Those hunters have a habit of taking advantage of people." She patted her back and Nico couldn't help but relax in her presence, it was as if her words were a lullaby and he felt at peace. "Nico how about this if you ever need someone to talk to I am here. Think of me as another sister you can turn to, you aren't alone here" she said with a warm smile.
Nico looked up at the older girl and nodded, "Ok thank you." He didn't know why this girl was being so nice to him but he appreciated it.
Silena smiled at him. "If anyone gives you any trouble come to me ok; I will look after you when you need it."
He nodded, "Thank you Silena." He didn't know why but he felt that he could trust her, he didn't know why his sister left but what she said about the hunters stuck with him. What if they took advantage of his sister and convinced her to leave? I have to get to the bottom of this he thought as he gripped his fists, he felt anger inside of him. That goddess probably lied to her and tricked her I have to find out the truth.
Silena nodded, "Come on I'll show you around."
Nico nodded as he got up and followed her to explore the camp. Deep down he wanted his sister back and couldn't help feel angry that these hunters took her from him. The thought of those hunters and Artemis now made him angry, really angry no matter how hard he tried not to think about it.
AN: So this story will only be about the di Angelo siblings during the last two books of PJO, I won't be going into HoO in this story.
Also, Percy in this story had fewer interactions with Nico and Bianca than in canon. Zoe just took some other hunter who died on the quest. As of this point, neither Percy nor Annabeth know about the parentage of Nico or Bianca.
So Nico will stay at the camp and will mostly be a happy kid though he does feel bitter about Artemis taking Bianca, it isn't as strong as how he hated Percy in canon but he is bitter about it deep down. But he will like the camp
Author Note 2:
So this story just to be clear isn't a Artemis or Bianca Bashing fic, and neither is it a Nico worshipping fic. If you have a problem with that, that's fine don't read but harass me in the comments or my pm box will result in a ban.
