Hey, Dark Gothic Lolita here!
So it's been a while since I last produced a Navia multi chapter as I've been focusing a lot more on oneshots. I've been working on this for a few months now and it's FINALLY ready! I told myself that for my 10th year writing anniversary, I was going to write 10 stories. This is indeed the 10th story that I have now written (thought it would take me longer to fulfil this plan tbh).
This story at some point may get quite confusing, probably because of situation that Natsu and Juvia go through, but it's easy once you get your head around it.
Anyway, I don't own Fairy Tail, like duh. Apologies for my poor spelling and grammar.
ENJOY!
Switched and linked
Chapter one
Juvia was livid. As in, silently raging. Okay so yes, maybe it was her fault that she had decided to sneak onto the same job as Gray's team (she refuses to call it Team Natsu), and that she did almost give up their location with the ruckus that she had caused. She just wanted to get onto the same job as Gray and keep her love rival away from her man.
She seemed to forget that although the team was named after Natsu, Erza is the one who is really in charge. She delegated the teams and Juvia could have sworn that she was punishing her by putting her in a pair with Natsu. That was why she was currently seething.
"Hey, I dunno why you're fuming! Happy had ta go with Wendy all because you showed up! Fucking hell, ya need ta stop being so Gray crazy." That last part was mumbled to himself, but Juvia heard it anyway. She knew that he was right, but she wasn't going to let him get away with it. Usually, she would be level headed, but she had actually crashed the job with a more important purpose than just wanting to be close to Gray, and now she would never get that chance.
"Oh please. Juvia is definitely not having any fun being here with Natsu either! Juvia at least thought that Erza-san would put Juvia in a group with Gray-sama! She's rooting for us to get together, why would she do this to Juvia?!"
She was practically wailing and Natsu growled and turned his head to glare at her. "Couldya shut up?! You just couldn't wait, couldya?! The ice prick already told me he was gonna go on a job with you after this one! Doubt he would, now that you've crashed this one."
Juvia blinked at him before her face went bright red. From anger or embarrassment, she couldn't even tell. She probably deserved that. Like Natsu said, Gray had already promised her that after this job with his usual team, the two of them would head out on a job together. She just couldn't bring herself to wait. Now Natsu was out here pointing that out to her.
"What?" she whispered.
She watched as he rolled his eyes so hard, he most definitely saw his brain. She actually flinched. "You heard me! Now stop your whining and be quiet! We're in enemy territory."
Juvia blinked and sniffed once as again as she watched Natsu walk off ahead. She pouted and crossed her arms. What was his problem? Natsu being snappy wasn't something that she had ever seen before. She felt dread settle within her. Did Natsu maybe hate her? She wouldn't be surprised. She was extremely annoying and they barely spoke. Now she gate crashed his team's job and he was stuck with her instead of his usual partner. Juvia lost all her initial anger towards being partnered with him. It was her fault and she needed to take full responsibility.
She followed him quietly before he stuck his hand out in front of her. She almost gasped, but she held it in and the adrenaline within her started pumping. He could definitely smell someone, the same way that she could feel something ominous in that room. She didn't feel good at all.
"Juvia's such an idiot. She doesn't even know what job they've taken and now she's shown up here."
"There's someone in there. I bet they're the person we're lookin' for."
Juvia nodded as she steeled her nerves. This was not the time to start getting afraid of anything. She was once an S class mage who was never scared of anything. She couldn't be in the presence of Natsu and show fear. He might snap at her again, and that was the last thing she wanted. Natsu never snapped at anyone except for despicable enemies. Did he class her as some sort of enemy?
"I'm goin' in. Cover me?"
Juvia nodded, eager to please him. She wanted this to go as smoothly as possible so that they could finish up the job and then she can go and apologise profusely to Gray to make sure that he was still going on the job with her. She won't even glare daggers at Lucy! Well, not for a while anyway as that would be an impossible habit to stop completely. At this point, she didn't even do it because she thought Lucy was going to steal him away from her. She just did it because Lucy's reaction is always hilarious.
Juvia cringed when she heard Natsu kick the door in and he suddenly burst into the room. Juvia kept herself hidden just in case something went wrong. She slithered into the room behind him and she frowned as she did so. There was a man just sitting there as he stared at the both of them, a simple smirk on his face. His eyes lit up in recognition.
"No way, they sent the Salamander here to take me down?! Oh man, that's rich! So this is what it's like to be a celebrity!" Juvia almost felt offended. What about her? Did he not know who she was?
Natsu growled, clearly not impressed with his behaviour and stepped forward to meet him. The man looked alarmed for a small moment. "Wait, why are you getting closer?"
Both Juvia and Natsu deadpanned at this man's behaviour. "Uh, so I can beat the shit out of you?! I can't really do it from over here, can I?"
Juvia held back a sigh. Typical Natsu. However, she couldn't fault him for replying like that. This guy is a lunatic. Why would he think that they wouldn't get closer to apprehend him? He's a criminal, the least they were going to do was have a fight if he really wanted to make it out of the building.
"What, don't you even know about my magic?"
Natsu responded with a fire dragon iron fist punch. Juvia could feel it, the electricity all around them as the man zapped himself out of existence. She quickly managed to duck under a kick that had been directed at her and she could just about see Natsu tense up at the fact that she had been attacked and not him.
He looked as if he were disappointed that Juvia had been able to sense him coming. "Sorry, I don't really wanna fight fire. Fighting a water mage is way easier with my lightning magic. I can kill you so simply." Oh. So he knew who she was then.
He was squashed against the floor when he said that. Natsu looked enraged that one of his nakama had just been threatened in front of him. Juvia stared with wide eyes at his unnatural display of violence. Natsu was never truly violent at the beginning of a fight. Was he in that much of a bad mood? Juvia couldn't help but feel some sort of emotion shift within her. It was weirdly nice to know that Natsu would pound someone into the ground for her.
Suddenly, Juvia grabbed Natsu's shoulder and threw him away from the man. They crashed into the seat that the man had just gotten up from and when Natsu was about to scold Juvia for her actions, the man was chuckling darkly. He stood up at the same time they did.
"You've got some quick reflexes there, girlie."
Juvia shrugged, but narrowed her eyes. "Ever since a certain incident, Juvia has been granted some sort of sixth sense towards lightning mages. Juvia can feel wherever you go as long as you use your lightning magic."
The man actually pouted. Actually pouted! "Well, that's no fun! I guess I'll just switch things up..."
And he was gone in a flash. Natsu could smell him, but his scent was in the entire room so that was useless. Juvia was fairing a bit better in terms of dodging because she could actually sense where he was at all times. She felt his lightning bunch up at two points and guessed that it was his hands. The two Fairy Tail mages jumped to either side.
Only, they were too slow. He managed to grab each of them by the hand as he sent his lightning through their bodies. Juvia screeched in pain and Natsu managed to hold himself to a grunt. They didn't feel right, but now that he was static, the two mages could do what they needed to do. Natsu nodded at Juvia and somehow, just somehow, she knew what he wanted her to do.
"Waterlock!"
They ripped their arms away from him as he was trapped in the waterlock. He wouldn't be stuck for too long because he would use his lightning to get out. Natsu was already prepared as Juvia ducked out of the way.
"FIRE DRAGON...ROAR!"
The heat of Natsu's flames had definitely increased. They were forever hot and it made Juvia remember that she really needed to up her training a bit more. By now, she should be able to move oceans by just the wave of her hand.
She felt woozy but shook the feeling away as she then looked at the man who had been burnt to a crisp. His clothes were torn as his skin looked like he had been thrown into a flamegrill. He was still moving, but Juvia used some blood magic to hold him still. Natsu tied up his hands as they dragged him out of the room, ready to alert everyone that they found the serial killer.
"Okay, I guess you guys caught me fair and square. Stupid hard headed Fairy Tail mages. The spell didn't work properly on you guys!"
Natsu grunted, irritated and Juvia sighed. This guy was just so annoying!
"What spell are you talking about?" Juvia had decided to humour him. Besides, she felt a little weird and therefore she needed to know why she felt that way. She rubbed at her chest a little. She felt as if she had heartburn.
"The soul switching one! Lightning magic isn't my original magic, y'know. Besides, do you think that I've actually been doing the killing?! No way! I switch people's souls and then they kill each other! Think of it as a beautiful, poetic, tragic and twisted suicide. Only you guys didn't switch souls. Well, at least not yet."
The two mages froze as they stared at each other before Natsu growled and hauled him up by the collar.
"Fucking come again?"
"You felt a little disturbance within you, right?" There was a smirk dancing on his lips as his eyes twinkled with sick joy. Natsu nodded and so did Juvia, even though he was unable to see her reaction.
"That, my friends, was the soul switching spell. Didn't work properly because he should be her and she should be him and then altogether you should be dead, but I guess I can leave you guys with that nice little parting gift before I go to prison. As for the spell to return you guys to your body...well I can't do it personally. Never learned how. It's a forbidden spell for a reason."
Natsu dropped the man and he groaned when his body hit the floor. Juvia smirked a little, enjoying his pain, but she wondered if what he had said was true. Soul switching? Oh Mavis, she hoped that wasn't true! The only soul mage she knew was Bixlow and due to her love for another mage, it wasn't like she had stuck around to learn anything about him. Were soul and seith mages even the same thing? She didn't know whether or not he could also do something like that.
Natsu perked up when could hear something and Happy flew around the corner. Natsu was ready for him as he flew straight into his arms and Wendy and Carla followed after. They saw the man on the floor and smiled.
"It seems you guys caught him first! I knew I could hear something crashing around. Erza-san said the Garou Knights are coming for him."
The man tensed up and his eyes were wide. "G-Garou Knights?! What are they coming here for?! Aren't I going to prison?!"
Carla scoffed with her arms crossed. "Is that a joke? Your crimes are well known for the sick nature that you swap people's souls and they kill each other before you flee the scene to go and do it again! You're horrific! So no. You're not going to prison, you're going to be executed."
The man seemed to whimper and Natsu sneered at him as he grabbed him by the collar and dragged him along the floor. Happy snickered from his place on top of his head and Juvia followed behind as they went to find the rest of the team. Juvia didn't feel good at all and when she was wondering how Natsu was doing so well, she noticed his hand shaking a little bit too. She wasn't the only one who noticed.
The man smirked. "Oh well, at least I'll die happy."
Natsu frowned and so did the rest. "What's that supposed ta mean?"
"I already told you that-"
"Yeah, well I ain't buying that. I'm fine, Juvia's fine. And you're gonna die."
Juvia didn't know why, but she shivered at Natsu's words and she was pretty sure it wasn't because she found his words scary.
They had reached the front of the building and Lucy, Gray and Erza were standing there talking with Garou Knights. They smirked as the man paled when he realised that his executioners were already here. If only he hadn't caught wind of the Fairy Tail mages being here and deciding to play with them, he could have escaped this fate. Oh well.
Natsu threw him at their captain's feet. "There ya go, all bound up for ya!"
"Thank you Natsu. We didn't know you guys were already given this job to capture him. Sorry for wasting any of your time."
Lucy frowned and leaned forward. "It's okay, no worries. It won't be a waste of time unless we're not getting paid. We are still getting paid, right?"
Kamika laughed and nodded. "Of course. We're getting paid for the execution part, not the capture. That was your job so it's still the same."
Lucy sighed, bringing her hand to her heart as she smiled with relief. Natsu, Gray and Happy all snickered knowing that she only cared about money so that she still had a place to live. Lucy glared at the three of them to shut up and they instantly stopped, whistling as they tried to make it look like they weren't even focused on her. She rolled her eyes at their behaviour.
Kamika grabbed the man and gagged him so that he was also unable to talk and Juvia couldn't help but glance over at Natsu. He had done the same and the moment they caught each other's eyes, they blacked out, leaving their team in shock and the Garou Knights confused. The criminal was laughing behind his gag and hissed in pain when it was removed harshly. Erza bent down to his height and he cowered in fear at the bloodlust that she was emitting.
"Why is it so funny that both my nakama have fainted? What did you do?"
"I-I soul switched them! I switched their souls! I usually switch it and then they kill each other, but they managed to delay the spell a little bit! Their souls are changing, I'm not sure about the killing part though. Oh well, I'm off to be killed! Bye!"
Erza looked like she was going to throttle him, but held herself back. The captain looked at her before looking back at the two mages that had collapsed. Gray sighed when he realised he was going to have to carry Natsu on his back and then Erza lifted Juvia into her arms.
"I would have him reverse it-"
"Even if you weren't gonna kill me and I had to reverse the spell, I wouldn't do it. I don't even know how. This sort of shit is too funny! I do it to everyone, and just because you guys are Fairy Tail, doesn't mean that you guys are free from my fun and games either. Have fun dealing with them! You guys have roughly around two weeks to a month to get them back into their bodies."
Wendy frowned. "Or else?"
The man sighed and rolled his eyes. "Figure it out. Gag me back up, I'm done talking."
The Knights growled at him for ordering them around, but ultimately did what they said. They gave the Fairy Tail mages a sympathetic look before taking their leave. Lucy's mind was racing, already trying to figure out what books her and Levy would have to read in order to get them to change back. She glanced over at the dragon slayer and the water mage and cringed. Oh Kami, they were going to wake up in each other's bodies? She couldn't think of anything worse!
"I'll text Levy in advance to let her know what we're dealing with."
Erza nodded her head as they made their way to the train station. Happy was worried as he flew next to Gray, trying to see if it would really be true. Would Juvia really wake up in his best friend's body? Only time will tell at this point.
"Alert Bixlow as well. He'll be the only one who can perform any form of soul magic."
Lucy sighed and nodded. Hopefully this was all a bluff.
Bixlow was amused. As in, highly amused. When team Natsu had walked through the door and Wendy had come running up to his team looking for him specifically, he couldn't have even tried to imagine what kind of mess they had gotten themselves into. The guild watched as Juvia and Natsu were taken to the infirmary as they were still out cold. Happy had flown straight to the master's office.
Then Wendy started spewing all this stuff about Natsu and Juvia's soul getting swapped by that mage that was literally his archnemesis and he made the mental note to go and watch his execution because that was literally so funny to him. The bastard finally got caught huh?
So now, it was Team Natsu, Bixlow and the Master standing in the infirmary. Bixlow laughed. "Okay, so around what time did they faint?"
Lucy answered. "It's been 1 hour and 40 minutes."
"Wow, exact timing. 'Ppreciate it. They should be waking up within the next 5 minutes or so. So you fought him, huh? Razor."
Erza nodded. "Yes. His way of killing people was bound to get him into prison. How do you know him?"
"Similar magic and stuff. Master here banned me from ever seeking him out and capturing him myself. Bad blood, revenge type of stuff y'know? Two soul mages going head to head is pretty catastrophic, so I was made to promise I would never accept a job with him in it."
They all looked at the Master for confirmation and he nodded. "Bixlow would always come back with a very big spiritual drain on his body. He was too obsessed with making sure that Razor saw the pits of hell. He promised me he would never go after him again."
"Buuut, I'm still going to his execution."
Makarov sighed. "Of course you are. Anyway, what do you think you can do for these two?"
Bickslow sighed. "Think of mine and Razor's magic like Gray's and Lyon's. The same magic, but Lyon's comes to life, right? I take wandering souls and put them into inanimate objects. All seith users aren't allowed to tamper with people's souls, unless it's for a situation like this, one that I have to fix. It goes against the seith code. Razor takes souls from people and shifts them into different bodies and that in itself is black magic. That means I need to go and gain permission from the seith council in order to do it. Unfortunately, I'll have to prove that I want to use it for good and not for bad."
Everyone's eyes were wide with surprise. All except Makarov of course.
"I wasn't aware that you had some sort of society when it came to dealing with your magic, Bickslow."
His tongue fell out of his mouth as he nodded at Erza. "Yup! It's one of those magics that kinda tip toe on the boundaries of light and dark, so we gotta be extremely careful. Any magic that could easily fall into the dark magic side has to have a council. I guess I'll leave after they wake up. Which looks like it's now."
All their heads turned to see what would happen. Juvia got up first, clutching at her head, not feeling so good. Gray came forward to her bed and Juvia actually rolled her eyes at the sight of him.
"So the first face I see after I wake up is the fucking ice princess'? Wait...the FUCK?!"
Juvia reached up to touch her throat, her eyes wide like saucers. Bickslow burst out laughing. This was too funny! Okay, he might hate Razor, but this could turn out to be one of the funniest pranks ever! Swapping souls for a joke would always be funny. Gray snickered too and Juvia reached out to grab him by the throat not seeing the humour in it at all.
"This ain't fucking funny, ice prick!" Her eyes fell on Bickslow. "Fix me!" she hissed out."
They heard a groan from the next bed and Natsu sat up, shaking his head. The girls were all frozen during the entire predicament. First of all, they could really tell that Natsu was within Juvia's body because that was not the way Juvia would speak or behave. Happy got closer to Natsu and looked up at him. Natsu looked down, confused.
"Eh? Happy-chan? Don't you want to go and check if...Wait, what?"
Natsu touched his throat and felt an Adam's apple. He froze before turning sharply to see that Juvia (her rightful body) was grabbing Gray around the collar. His eyes widened as he looked back at everyone else in the room. They were all waiting for his reaction and they all face vaulted when Natsu turned onto his other side, lay down and acted like he were asleep. At this point, they weren't even sure if that was Natsu or Juvia.
Lucy grew angry and punched him on the head, which made the dragon slayer(?) spring up. "L-Lucy-chan?! What was that for?"
Lucy was horrified. To hear Natsu say her name correctly...she never wanted to hear him (her?) say it again. It sounded so alien, so wrong!
"S-sorry Juvia! I thought you were Natsu just playing a trick on us!" She was bright red, sorry that she had ended up hitting Juvia in Natsu's body.
Natsu shook his head wildly. "Juvia was...Juvia was hoping that maybe it was all a dream and that if she went to bed and woke up, everything would be alright. Juvia sees that is not the case," she mumbled to herself, still absolutely horrified at what was going on.
Bickslow clapped his hands, gaining everyone's attention. His grin was in place. "Okay! Well, they're awake now, so that means I can set off! Before you guys ask, no this isn't a dream, this is very much real. Don't worry, you won't kill each other because of the interruption in the spell. I also have two weeks to get you back to your own bodies before you guys are stuck. As in NOTHING will be able to return you guys to your bodies."
Natsu started sobbing at the idea and Juvia's jaw dropped. "O-oi! Don't cry in my body! Look, Bickslow and all his babies will get us sorted out! You'll be able ta cling back onto your precious Gray-sama after. Geeze for real, stop crying! You CAN'T make me look pathetic!"
Natsu wiped his tears with a small nod and Juvia sighed, happy that he had stopped crying. Everyone else was just staring in silence and Juvia grunted. She didn't like the looks they were getting. It wasn't like they had switched places with the enemy, they were each other.
"It's still us, guys. Why are you looking at us like that?"
Natsu tried to smile with red eyes. "Well Bickslow, Juvia hopes that you will have the answer to our situation very soon."
Bickslow's grin widened. "Man, that's gonna be something to get used to, right? Juvia speaking in the third person in Natsu's body. The mind fuck. I love it!"
No one felt the same way and Juvia just rolled her eyes at the seith mage's reaction. Natsu looked over at her nervously, but was a bit distracted by the sheer level of heat that seemed to be running through his body and frowned.
"Is this why Natsu has been annoyed? This is...uncomfortable."
Juvia spoke up again. "Yeah, well good luck. Hurry the fuck back so I can get back into my body."
Natsu's head turned so quickly. "Natsu! Don't swear in Juvia's body!"
"I'll do whatever the fuck I want for as long as I'm in this body! You're the reason we're in this mess anyway, lil miss I-can't-wait-for-my-job-with-my-precious-Gray-Sama-so-let's-crash-the-one-he's-on-with-his-team-now."
Juvia was glaring heavily and everyone in the room watched silently, unsure of what to say. They had never seen Juvia (Natsu?) this angry before. Well, he got angry, but that was when it came to enemies. Natsu had never been angry with a fellow guildmate before.
Natsu blushed heavily in embarrassment and that was another look that the others hadn't seen before either. Not only did he look sheepish, he looked apologetic. "Juvia said she was sorry."
Juvia snorted in some sort of annoyed amusement. "Actually, you didn't. I'm not sure if you think I'm telepathic, but I ain't."
Natsu glanced over at Bickslow who was watching the whole drama unfold and his tongue fell out of his mouth. This was hilarious, but he knew he had to get them back to normal quickly. Juvia's body glaring at everyone and not speaking in the third person was a massive trip.
"Okay, ground rules! While you are in each other's bodies, we will call you by your rightful names when you're in the guild. When outside and in public, you will get called by the name of the body that you're in. No one outside of the guild must know about this, so use the right name to the right body when outside of here. Live your lives the same way the other would and lastly, try not to kill each other. That's the most important part."
"No promises," Juvia growled out in a feminine way and Natsu gasped. It was almost as if they were the Edolas versions of themselves. It was now being made known to everyone that Natsu really knew how to hold a grudge.
"Juvia has apologised now, please don't be mad with Juvia!"
Juvia rolled her eyes and nodded, as if to accept the apology for now. Happy stared between the two of them, almost as if wondering who to live with. He slipped off of Natsu's bed and headed towards Juvia. She immediately perked up.
"Happy, buddy!" The exceed seemed to take that as they started talking like everything was normal. Happy seemed to get over the fact that Natsu was stuck in Juvia's body pretty easily. The rest of Team Natsu and Juvia who was in Natsu's body just watched on. Gray sighed and put a hand to his head.
"This is so weird. Trust that idiot to get himself into this mess," he muttered under his breath. They were all waiting for Juvia to respond, but she continued to talk to Happy, as if she didn't hear a thing. Natsu, however, heard it perfectly clear. His head sprung up to stare at Gray with furrowed eyebrows. Thinking about it, this meant that she had to hold her feelings in check for Gray. It would be weird for all of them to see 'Natsu' confessing his love for Gray and that would probably weird him out even more. She didn't need that sort of stress right now. She needed to be back in her body.
"Well master, Imma head out now. Update me on anything weird that happens while I'm gone, okay?"
The elderly man nodded his head before he paused. "And what exactly is going to qualify as weird at this point in time? I can honestly see nothing weirder than this happening."
Bickslow laughed and shook his head. "Actually, a lot of things can go wrong in this time, but none of them are important. The most important thing to mention to me is if you feel something weird tugging at your soul. You'll feel it in your chest. It means that the longer you stay in each other's bodies, the more you'll adapt to it and your bodies won't want to release your souls."
Everyone in the room paled at the thought of Natsu and Juvia being stuck in each other's bodies, especially the two involved. They glanced at one another once Bickslow was finally gone. Makarov sighed and faced the two mages who were sitting on their beds. "Are you guys okay to stand up?"
"You mean after all the news? Yeah sure," Juvia muttered as she attempted to stand up from the bed. She did so perfectly well. Natsu wasn't about to be outdone, so he also stood up from his bed.
Makarov nodded before looking at the others in the room. "I need everyone to give me a moment with both Natsu and Juvia. Yes Happy, that means I want you outside as well please."
They all looked at one another and Natsu could already tell what this was going to be about. He wanted to turn around and face her beloved and tell him that she was so sorry for ruining his job as well as their chance at having some alone time tomorrow on their own mission. Natsu was right, she really had messed up. She wondered what harsh words Gray was going to throw at her now.
"Juvia? Are you paying attention to what I'm saying?"
"Huh?"
Natsu turned his head to see Juvia and Makarov looking at him. She glanced at herself and cringed. She actually looked quite terrifying when she wasn't impressed. "Am I terrified of myself?"
Natsu glanced over at Makarov and nodded his head. "Good. Now, I understand that you crashed their job because you didn't want to wait for your job with Gray tomorrow."
When it was said like that, Natsu could tell that he fucked up immediately. The tone in the master's voice was more than enough of a signal to let him know that he had royally screwed up. He nodded his head, fidgeting with the hands that weren't his and he looked down at his feet that also didn't belong to him.
"That is true, master."
The man sighed. "Juvia, I've been kind, very kind. Love who you want to love, but at the expense of a job? You could have put someone in some serious trouble, you know that? All because of that jealousy that I have been letting you get away with. Juvia, you are banned from going on jobs with Gray for the next six months."
Natsu's head snapped up in disbelief. "Master, you can't be serious?!"
His eyes flashed at him and he immediately calmed down. "I'm deadly serious. I mean it, you guys could have ended up as his next victims all because you wanted to be with Gray. Do you not seem to understand the severity of the situation? You could be stuck inside each other's bodies forever! And then while I was talking, you still weren't listening! So yes, I'm damn well serious!"
The pair of them had never seen the old man so angry before. The last time he was probably this angry was when he invoked Fairy law on Laxus. To make the master that angry, well it was something Juvia never thought she would do. She felt so guilty.
"J-Juvia is very sorry, she will take the punishment."
Makarov sighed and nodded as he calmed down. "You two should get going. And also try to get along too."
The both of them nodded and Juvia led the way for both of them. She flounced out of the room, ready to go and meet her team and Natsu sighed, leaving with his head hung low. He didn't even want to tell Gajeel about this, but he had to.
He found his best friend and headed over to him and his girlfriend. Natsu sighed before gaining their attention. "Gajeel-kun," he wailed. Gajeel and Levy's jaws dropped.
"Salamander, what the fuck?!"
Natsu waved his hands. How had she forgotten that she was in Natsu's body already?! "Juvia isn't Natsu! Juvia is stuck in Natsu's body because of some soul swapping spell!"
That piqued their interest as Gajeel burst out laughing, claiming there's no worse person to swap bodies with. Levy looked excited with the thought of a soul swapping spell. Of course she would be intrigued by it.
"I've never heard of that before! How did you get hit with a spell like that?"
Natsu sighed and took a seat beside Lily. "Juvia and Natsu were up against a criminal who swaps people's souls and then gets them to kill each other. He claimed it was a poetic suicide. Somehow, the spell failed and instead of killing each other, we're stuck in each other's bodies. Bickslow has to go to some soul council-"
"What's that?" Levy interrupted.
"Soul magic is very delicate, due to it basically being black magic. Because of that, there's a council that oversees its use. Bickslow needs to get permission to study this spell and find a way to put us back."
Gajeel was done laughing and he smirked. "So how does it feel being in his body?"
Natsu frowned. "It's too hot, Juvia can't understand for the life of her how this body can be this hot and he still wears this scarf! If he wasn't a fire dragon slayer, Juvia would wonder how he's still alive."
"Is it uncomfortable Miss Juvia? I mean...Natsu?"
Natsu nodded his head with a scowl. "It is. Juvia guesses her soul can't deal with it. Biscklow said you can still call us by our correct names, but when it public you have to call us by our bodies' respective names so that anyone out of the guild doesn't know of our predicament. Especially as Natsu seems to have a lot of enemies. But enough about that, Juvia has been banned from going on a job with Gray-sama for six months!"
Levy rubbed Natsu's hand sympathetically and Gajeel was trying not to be jealous. He knew it was Juvia in Natsu's body, but still. It was weird to watch. He had to distract himself. "Okay, and why has he banned you?"
Natsu sighed and pouted. "He said that my love for Gray is getting in the way. Juvia snuck away on a job with them due to jealousy and got us in trouble, so this is Juvia's punishment. It's not Juvia's fault-"
"But Ameonna, it is your fault that you love Gray. Fuckin' hell, do you know how annoying it is to hear ya constantly fuckin' yappin' on about 'im?! Sometimes, I just wanna do a job with my best friend, not you and Gray who's fuckin' here in spirit!"
Natsu recoiled from Gajeel's outburst and he frowned. Levy and Lily looked awkward, but it also was something that needed to be addressed. Gajeel didn't even look like he was finished with the topic.
"Yer obsessed with him and ya can't even see it. It's not healthy and then ya wonder why he doesn't accept yer feelings! Yer everywhere he goes, ya never let him breathe! And this stupid jealousy of yours has got to stop! Lucy and Gray were on a team before ya met him. Even if Lucy was his girl, you would have ta back off, cos he sure as hell ain't yours! NOW yer stuck in that flamin' prick's body all because of yer said jealousy. If this ain't the wake up call ya need, I don't know what is."
Gajeel stood up abruptly from the table after his little rant and sauntered off to the job board. Levy shot Natsu an apologetic look, but at the end of the day, Gajeel was right. Natsu actually looked like he was about to cry, which alarmed the other two and they tried to get him to stop.
"Hey, hey! Don't pay attention to Gajeel's aggression!"
Natsu sniffled. "But he's right. Gajeel-kun is right and Juvia feels sick just saying that. Juvia is letting her love for Gray-sama take control of her life and she has one else to blame but herself. Juvia will learn to live life for the next six months not based around him. Juvia will take her punishment seriously."
The other two nodded. "That will be good for you, Miss Juvia. You may have to even take some jobs with Natsu to get the hang of your new body. Who knows just how long it will take Bickslow to find the spell."
Juvia really didn't want to have to spend any extra time with Natsu, but she knew it was necessary. After all, she is in his body. No one knew him better than Natsu himself.
"Well, Bickslow said that he will take two weeks or less to find a spell. He also said we should live out each other's lives as normal. Juvia doesn't even know where Natsu lives."
"In the forest somewhere," Levy quipped. Natsu harshly sighed. The forest was a large area and he really wasn't bothered to spend all day and night trying to look for his house.
"That narrows things down for sure," came the sarcastic response.
So how was that for a first chapter? As you already know, Thursday is Navia day which is when I try to upload my Navia stories. Sometimes I forget to edit which results in a missed update or my shift that day doesn't let update. I'll always try and make up by giving you the amount of chapters owed.
But please don't forget to rate or hates, flames or floods! I love you guys all to to the moon and back!
