Today was a fairly normal day for me, I woke up. I ate breakfast. I went to school. Me and my mortal enemy decided to mutually deepen our rivalry and hate for each other. See, note how I said, mortal enemy, and not bully. This is because we both mutually bully each other to no end. We push the rules to the very ends, and somehow, the teachers never cared.

Today, though, I might have gone a little… too far? I… insulted her beauty in a fit of anger, and the look I saw on her face was pure, unbridled rage. It was terrifying. Well, as terrifying as she could get when she's literally the epitome of beautiful, cute, and cinnamon roll.

Oh, how wrong they are.

While I was walking back home, I got the feeling that I was being tailed. So, I did what any normal person would do. I sped up. And I kept on speeding up, till I was literally sprinting all the way home. When I got there, I swung open the door, tumbled inside, and bolted it shut. When I didn't hear anything suspicious, I let out a breath I had no clue I had even been holding.

I went to my room and changed out into a normal blouse, which was loose at the ends of my sleeves, and track pants. I was about to go to the bathroom in order to wash off the sweat on my face, and I almost dropped down to my knees with what I saw. My house… was burning. The first thought that came to my mind when I saw the burnt sofa and ash-ridden walls of my house, my first coherent thought was…

Damn. My parents are gonna kill me.

Now, see, I am 17. I am allowed to stay home alone; it's allowed by the law. Now, last I checked, it's very much against the law to burn someone's house for no reason whatsoever.

Then I heard the screams. They sounded… strangely familiar

I sucked in a breath and tried to reign my temper in. Katrina, that jerk!

I threw down my towel and ran towards the screaming at a breakneck pace, and I saw Katrina huddled down in a corner, with the flames licking at her every so often. I grabbed her none too gently and dragged her to the garage of my house. When we were out of the burning house, I lost all qualms of control.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING?!", I screeched, and clawed at her face, "NOW THANKS TO YOU, MY PARENTS ARE GOING TO KILL ME! WHAT? IS THIS ABOUT THAT ONE INSULT ON YOUR BEAUTY THAT YOU DID THIS TO ME? WHAT KIND OF INCONSIDERATE JERKFACE ARE YOU?!".

She recoiled at the sheer frustration and anger in my voice and whimpered out, "I'm sorry—", but by that point, I had enough.

It was a blur from then on. At one moment, I was yelling at her, and the next, I had my hand next to my face and a red bruise was blossoming on her cheek. I didn't regret it. Not at all. Even when the consequences for that caused me to land up in jail, because no one would believe me since I blamed such a… and I quote, "stunningly beautiful cinnamon roll who could do no wrong whatsoever", and now I'm paying fines for somehow, burning my own house.

However, I'm a minor. I can't pay for the damages. My parents have to do that. Boy, are they in for a surprise.

"Explain.".

A shudder wracked its way throughout my body as I heard my father's deceptively calm voice once he saw what became of his house. Or at least, what's left of it. My mother was no better. She was one step away from yelling me into oblivion.

"I insulted someone at school and they did arson on our house when I returned home.", I stated as serious as I could.

My father blinked at me before barking out a laugh.

"If you're going to lie, do a better job.", then his face darkened, "Now tell me the truth.".

I panicked, "BUT I AM TELLING THE TRUTH—".

The sound of skin contact on skin rang out throughout the police station. My mother's restraints had snapped, and so had her temper.

"DON'T YELL AT YOUR FATHER, YOUNG LADY!", she screeched.

I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes, and through my peripheral vision, I saw Katrina gasp and cover her mouth. She was already shedding tears. I'm the one getting hurt. It's because of her. So why is she the one crying? Anger and sadness welled up in my again, and willed it down.

"Shivani.".

When I heard my name, I went stock still, and looked straight at the offender with the blankest of stares. It was my father.

"I apologize for yelling at you,", he sighed, "BUT, we don't have enough money to pay for fixing our house, so as your punishment, you will have to get a part-time job, to help to pay off the damages done. I'm so sorry, Ani.", and he gave me a hug. My mother joined in as well, but she wasn't focusing on me.

I followed her calculating gaze to a certain culprit of this entire fiasco. I knew my mom was something of an enigma. She was an actress once. So, I never actually knew what she was feeling, nor could I get a read on her. I inherited those awesome acting skills of hers, even if not on the same level.

When they both let go of me, they gave me a smile and walked away. I was about to follow them until someone grabbed my hand from behind. Resisting the urge to dislocate the offender's shoulder, stiffly turned my head, only to be met with the sight of Katrina… apologizing? With tears in her eyes, she mouthed an apology. I was almost about to forgive her, until I realized what exactly she did to me, so I hardened my heart and mouthed back:

'Sorry won't bring back my home.'

And I wrenched my arm out of her grip and followed after my parents. But then something weird happened. Time… stopped. I turned around and saw Katrina look at me with an equally bewildered stare. I ran past her and opened the police station doors, and I looked around. Everything froze. And when I say everything, I mean, everything. Birds were frozen in the sky, parents were frozen while talking to their frozen kids, hell, even this one guy doing a marriage proposal on one knee was frozen.

I questioningly glanced at Katrina, who gave a shrug, and then all of a sudden, the world went white.

When I woke up, a female was waiting for me, and let me tell you, she was absolutely beautiful. Even more so than Katrina.

She looked mystical and otherworldly, with blue skin and three dots underneath her inverse colored eyes. Black covered where the white part should've been and a mystical green controlled the irises, and the pupils were a light violet, bordering on blue. Her hair went down to mid-back, and it was a mix of that light violet and an even lighter blue. She had a winning smile, and a slim figure, with feathered wings the color of her hair protruding from her backside and a dragon's tail the color of her eyes and that light blue as well. Her nails were so long yet so beautiful and well kept. She had deer antlers coming up from her head and wolf ears, or were they cat ears? I couldn't tell. She was barefoot, and her feet were clawed on each end. All in all, she looked nothing short of a goddess. And then I remembered where I was.

"Who- wait- what?", I stumbled over my own words.

That… goddess, because there is NO WAY that she's human, blinked at me, and then laughed. It was a wonderful, joyful sound.

"Child, you're in a pocket dimension that I created. You, and that other girl who was with you.", she said mirthfully.

Other…? My eyes widened, Her—

I spun around and scanned the void blackness for Katrina, who was apparently supposed to be with me!

Sure enough, I saw a dumbstruck Katrina, who was trying to find words to say, but she couldn't find any, so all she looked like was a fish gasping for air. I turned back to that goddess and saw that she was still smiling, although, this one had a more mischievous edge to it. Before I could question her about it, she continued talking.

"Now, as you might have inferred, I am a goddess. I worked my way up the ranks and now I'm an omnipotent being, whom no one should anger. Now, listen,", her grin got wider, "I saw that you, my friend, are in desperate need of money", she pointed at me, and I blushed.

"You saw that?", I questioned.

She gave me the most deadpanned stare ever.

"I'm an omnipotent being, what do you think?", she said blandly.

"Right, sorry" I apologized.

She waved it off, and then said to both of us. "Since you need money, I will send you to a universe where there is an abundance of gold! Don't worry, when you accomplish going there till the very end, you will be able to return!", she assured me.

"Wait, what?"

"You will realize what I mean once you're there, and I will give you a gift too, just hold your breath when you take it.", she muttered the last part.

"Wait what?", I asked. I was beginning to panic, and that's not a good sign.

"NOTHING!", that female that was once a beautiful goddess whom I once would've done anything to please had just turned into the Devil.

"HAVE FUN!", she cheered, and her voice distorted as the blackness around us swallowed us whole.

When I woke up, I felt something in my mouth. Something… that tasted… freaking disgusting! I was about to spit it out, but something was holding it in my mouth. I followed the offender's hands up to the face, and I saw Katrina.

I opened my mouth to snark at her.

BIG MISTAKE.

I ended up swallowing that garbage fruit and… I felt nothing different whatsoever. I looked at my mortal enemy and said, "What the hell is wrong with you, you psycho?".

She gave me a glare and said, "Well, now that you can pay off the damages on your house, what I did which was an accident by the way is now water under the bridge.", she did a hair flip and then turned to me.

"So, can we be back to enemies now?", she snarked.

I blinked. Then a positively demonic smile spread across my face.

"Yes.", I drawled, "Yes we can.".

For the next… God knows how many hours, we tried to subtly kill each other. Okay, maybe she was subtle, but I was blatant. I would set traps, and try to check out which plants are poisons in order to literally kill her, or at least cripple her.

Hey, what can I say I'm still a little sore about what she did to my house.

I was walking through the woods when I heard it…

"LEAVE NOW!", a voice sounded out, "THIS IS THE ISLAND PROTECTED BY GOD!".

What.
