Chapter 1
A Night to Remember, Part One
Harry Potter stood in his kitchen at number 12 Grimmauld Place with a smile on his face. It had been almost a year since the battle of Hogwarts and the downfall of Voldemort and his followers. The cleanup of Hogwarts and the Ministry had taken about that long to finish and stabilize. Everyone of the Order and DA had put their lives on hold to assist, but tonight was the night.
Tonight was their last night with that obligation under their belts. Tonight, everyone was moving forward and into their own lives. Tonight, the only thing left to do was to celebrate their survival. Harry and Ron were leaving for Auror training in the morning. Hermione had taken a position with the Ministry for the International Magical Cooperation Department and was leaving to be an ambassador in America for a few years.
Neville was interning with a famous botanist for more intense magical plant training. Luna was also traveling around as an intern for a magical creature expert. Ginny was joining the quidditch team, the Holyhead Harpies, while also going into advanced Healer's training between seasons.
"I can't believe this is really happening," Harry heard in the doorway behind him. He turned around and saw Ginevra Weasley leaning in the door frame.
"I know," Harry smiled, "I'm just glad we survived," Harry said to the redhead in the doorway.
"All the battles? Or the year after?" Ginny joked, referring to all the hard work it had been to fix their world.
"Both, I think. Can you help me carry these outside? Seamus was going to, but he had to use the loo," Harry said, motioning towards the large boxes of alcoholic drinks on the counter, both muggle and magical.
"Sure," Ginny said coming forward, "So how's Janet?" Ginny asked. Harry frowned.
"Eh, we didn't work out. I told her about being a wizard and she freaked out. I had to obliviate her," Harry said sadly, "We dated for a while more, and I hoped we would get closer. I tried to tell her again and she freaked out worse that time. I just don't think she can handle it. I don't think she loved me like she said she did."
Ginny put her hand on his shoulder, "I'm so sorry, Harry," she said.
Harry smiled sadly, "Its probably for the best. Besides, she was always so jealous of you, it was a constant problem," Harry said.
"We were a thing for a couple months; Hardly worth being jealous over," Ginny said with a laugh.
"Yeah, but you were often my work partner for the clean up, she thought it was a ruse to be together. Since I couldn't explain exactly what we were doing she would get upset," Harry said.
"Even after I came out?" Ginny laughed, "She still thought we were hooking up?" Ginny asked as she picked up one of the boxes of liquor.
"She didn't believe you were really a lesbian; Especially since we dated. Or she thought I still wanted you, even though you like the ladies," Harry said with a lighthearted smile. Ginny laughed and shook her head.
"How's that one girl you were seeing?" Harry asked, changing the subject, "The one from France? Who came over to help with the cleanup? The really really smart girl, Fleur's friend?"
"Oh, you mean Claudette. She was fun," Ginny smiled, "We weren't really dating though."
Seamus heard them in the hallway as he approached and came into the room with a smile.
"What about that other one," Seamus said, "The brunette? Trish, I think?" he asked, joining the conversation and grabbing a box.
"Trisha," Ginny corrected, "And no, we weren't dating, just having fun."
Ron came in behind Seamus, already laughing.
"What about the one with the really nice brown eyes?" Ron said, "Karen. I liked Karen," Ron teased as he picked up a box and Ginny rolled her eyes.
"Blimey, Ginny, how many women have you dated recently?" Neville said from the hallway, laughing as he squeezed in behind Ron. Ron handed Neville the box of liquor he had been holding.
"Leave her alone guys!" Hermione yelled out from behind Neville's shoulder, "Grab that stuff and let's get out of this cramped hallway!" Hermione shouted.
"Why is everyone in here?" Harry asked with a laugh.
"You took too long, mate!" Ron yelled, "We need our drinks!"
Ginny handed Ron the box she had been holding and looked to the door, hoping to catch Hermione's eye, but the brunette had already turned to lead the men back outside.
Ginny looked over to Harry who smiled at her, "After you," he said. Ginny smiled at him, picked up the last box and followed behind Seamus. The group all shuffled down the narrow hallway and went outside to rejoin the party.
The smell of smoke filled the air and Ginny looked up to see glittering stars beginning to appear in the sky as the last beams of light retracted behind the horizon.
Ginny's heart swelled at the sight of all of her friends together. They were in a large circle around a roaring fire under the canopy of a twilight sky, talking and laughing.
"Where were you guys?" Dean called out from a plush couch chair next to the fire pit with Pavarti leaning back against him.
"Harry and Ginny were taking forever, talking about Ginny's love conquests," Neville joked as everyone re-took their seats by the fire. George, Angelina, Luna, Cho, Ernie and Hannah were already sitting comfortably.
"I don't have conquests," Ginny said, taking a seat in the plush couch sitting next to Hermione.
"You don't have girlfriends either," Ron teased.
"I just haven't found someone I click with," Ginny said, leaning back, "I don't want to force it. I came out so I could be myself, if I was going to force a relationship it would have been with Harry. He's my best mate!" Ginny said making everyone laugh. Ginny looked over at Hermione sitting next to her and felt her heart flutter as the brunette smiled back at her for a moment before speaking up.
"I agree with Ginny," Hermione said, "Remember when we tried to date, Ron?" Hermione asked and Ron nodded.
"Yeah, just because we are friends doesn't mean we are meant to be. Had some good times, though," Ron said with a jokey smile, making Hermione blush and shake her head before the whole group burst out laughing.
"My point, Ronald, was that we can't force something that just wasn't right," Hermione said.
"Definitely," Ginny agreed, "Harry and I had our good times, too. Only guy to make me think straight for a bit," Ginny said with a wink as she playfully elbowed Hermione and took a drink. Hermione smiled at Ginny and everyone else laughed.
"Seriously, Gin? I'm sitting right here," Dean said with a laugh.
"You weren't bad Dean, as a man goes, but Harry is the only man who got me to finish," Ginny said.
"Eww, Gin, don't say that," Ron grumbled, making the group laugh again.
"George is definitely my best," Angelina said, making George grin.
"I think Dean is mine," Pavarti said.
"Thanks," Dean said with a smile.
"My best was probably Terry. He's pretty skilled," Cho said.
"I thought Neville was fantastic," Luna said, making him blush.
"Me too! Definitely my best orgasm," Hannah said, leaning against Neville and giving Luna a high five.
"Dang Neville! You have got to have some skills!" Dean said loudly, "Your ex and your current girlfriend are both talking you up!" Dean teased, making Neville blush worse.
"What about you, Hermione?" Angelina asked.
"Oh,… Ummmm…." Hermione looked around, feeling awkward.
"Was it Viktor?" Angelina pried, "Or maybe that German guy you saw for a bit?"
"Is this really an appropriate conversation?" Hermione asked, blushing.
"Is this entire night even appropriate?" Ginny teased then nudged the brunettes shoulder a bit.
"Fine," Hermione said, "Ron was definitely my best." A few laughs broke out as Ron flexed a bicep with pride.
"…Well, I enjoyed it the most," Hermione continued, "I actually haven't been able to…." Hermione said, trailing off.
Silence fell over the group.
"Wait…" Cho said, "Are you saying what I think you are saying?" Cho asked.
"Hermione, you've never had an orgasm?" Ginny asked, wide eyed. Hermione nodded; regretting having shared that information. She did not expect that news to bring the festivities to a halt like that.
"I just don't think I can," Hermione tried to laugh, "Believe me, I have tried," Hermione said.
"So have I," Ron joked, and everyone laughed, even Hermione.
"I definitely enjoyed it," Hermione said, "I just can't….. get there," she blurted out.
"That really sucks," Hannah said, making everyone nod in agreement.
"That's just not right. Ron, did you twat it up?" Ginny asked, making everyone laugh.
"It is not Ron's fault, believe me," Hermione said with a sad smile.
"Oh, come off it, Ginny!" Seamus said, "You can't tell me you have gotten every girl you've been with to orgasm!"
"Of course, I have!" Ginny said astounded, making everyone laugh and jest at the idea.
"Are you serious?" Ernie said through his laughing.
"I have never been unable to get an orgasm from someone I've been with; both men and women," Ginny said.
"Well, we can't all be sex gods like you, Ginny," George teased before taking a drink. The group began to chat, and Ginny noticed the brunette to her side had grown quiet.
"That just blows my mind, 'Mione," Ginny said looking to Hermione.
"It's not that big of a deal, Gin," Hermione said, blushing and drinking more of the fire whiskey she had grabbed from one of the boxes Ginny had brought out. Ginny smiled at Hermione and just shook her head before taking another drink.
