Fammiliar of Zero Green Lantern Crossover Part 1

Louise took a deep breath to calm herself down and push her anxiety away.

"Have we gone through everyone?" Professor Colbert called out.

"No, not yet." the Boob monster replied "Miss Vallière is left."

"It's The Zero Louise, man."

"What is she going to summon?"

"I'm sure she can't. It'll be another explosion and that will be it."

I had boasted to Zerbst that I would summon something better than anyone else.

Stupid.

What was I thinking? It doesn't matter now. All I needed is to make it work. I'd even accept a cat at this point. So long as it works.

No. I WILL make it work. No matter what.

Determination filled me as she began to move forward towards the summoning circle.

"You said that you can summon something greater than this boy, right, Louise?"

"Naturally!" I WILL succeed no matter what.

BOOOM

"I knew this was going to happen."

"Are you all right, Montmorency?" Guiche asked, "What's wrong?"

I had failed the first two times and I had failed again.

As the smoke my failure was apparent there was nothing.

"This makes all you said worth it!" Boobmonster began to laugh "I never would have guessed you'd summon nothing!"

"I'm truly sorry Miss Vallerie, but you've failed the summoning ritual thrice." Colbert shook his head with pity. "You cannot continue the second year without a familiar, please follow me to the headmaster's office."

I breathed in and out. It doesn't matter.

Walking out of the headmaster's office I was no longer a student anymore. Honestly, I didn't know why I feared, I WILL continue to move forwards. No matter what happens I will not give up. Even if Mother is disappointed or denounces me...It doesn't matter. But if am denounced. I would miss Sister Cattleya.

I honestly felt lighter now. I no longer had to worry about grades or whether I will fail the next test. I came to a stop as Zerbst von Boobmonster stepped infront of me.

"Louise, you alright?"

I looked at her confused. Why was she asking me that? Was it a trick? Perhaps she was pitying me? No. It didn't matter school was behind me now. I simply stepped around her to continue to my room to pack up my things

"Louise hold up!" I ignored the harlot and continued to move forward. "Loooouiiiise."

The servants were loading my chest onto the carriage Zerbst was still bothering me.

"Loooouuuuise."

She was not going to stop bothering me until I answer, wasn't she?

May as well humor her since this was likely the last time I will hear from her anyway.

"What is it, Zerbst?"

"Are you alright?" Again with that

"And why do you care?"

"Do my best friend is got expelled from school, of course, I had to know if you are all right!"

"Best Friend?" Best Friend? Best friend? How dare she? "What gave you the right to call yourself my best friend?" I hissed, rage flooding me.

She blinked as if confused, "Of course we're best friends! We banter all the time!"

I was shocked.

Did she consider it Banter?

Was I wrong?

Had I grown so used to people berating and mocking me that I couldn't tell when some actually bantered with me. Recalling how Zerbest treated me it was true. Unlike the others she was upfront, she was perhaps one of the few who didn't whisper behind my back to others when they thought I couldn't hear them. She unlike others hers was different it was like one mom's old friends. And she never took it too far. My rage subsided replaced with Hope. Hope that perhaps she had found a true friend. One who would not care for status or Power.

Damn them, because of them I nearly lost someone who had considered me a friend all because I didn't recognize that it was just friendly teasing, and not cruel mocking. Someone who was comfortable enough with me to banter with.

A friend huh.

I hadn't had any friends in the academy... and when I realized I actually had one in front of me the whole time I had to leave when I found one who didn't care who my family was nor the fact I couldn't use magic.

With that, I made up my mind. "I will be alright Zerbst," I gave a small smile. "Thank you for caring" with that that I turned around mildly amused at the shocked face Zerbst had shown before I was glomped from behind.

"Oh, Louise I knew you would turn soft eventually, make sure to write to me okay? Maybe I'll even visit you during the holidays!"

Before I could say another word I saw a Green light fell from the sky like a comet. I threw up my arms as it headed straight towards me, but nothing happened and I lowered my arms.

I blinked at the simple-looking ring floating in a sphere of emerald light.

"What is that?" Zerbst asked still hanging on to me.

"A Ring?" I questioned

"Louise françoise le blanc de la Vallière of Earth, Sector 2814"

I jumped at the disembodied voice coming from the ring. It sounded off. Too smooth and neutral to be human. Was it a spirit? Was a spirit inside it? How did it even know my name? and what did it mean by earth? Was it saying that I was an earth mage?

"You have the ability to overcome great fear"

Of course, I had the ability to overcome great fear. If I didn't I would have given up long ago.

"Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps"

And then the ring flew to put itself on my finger. 'Ribbons' of green light surrounded my body in a not unpleasant sensation of hot and cold that changed my clothes as they wound around me. My clothes were replaced by a black bodysuit with long white gloves and green boots that stopped at my knees. Green dominated the upper portion of the suit around my shoulders and neckline where the suit dipped to a V above my collarbone. Over my chest was the same strange symbol carved onto the glowing. Two parallel bars with a circle between them.

I stared down at my gloved hands and muttered a single, "What."
