Rukia woke up from her sleep when she was frantically being shook by her maid in her room
"Ugh…what is it Kiku? Why are you waking me earlier than usual? And that too on a day off?"
"It's an emergency, Rukia-sama. The commander has requested your presence in the main hall at once."
"Is it an attack?"
"No, but it is a matter that is of high importance. I advise to be ready."
"Okay."
She quickly washed her face, put on her black robe and rushed to the main hall. A few minutes, she reached the main hall to see all the captains and vice captains lined up. She spotted her childhood friend Abarai Renji and her brother Byakuya Kuchiki in the crowd along with the rest. She then spotted an orange-haired Shinigami in the lines along with his friends
"Ichigo? Orihime-san, Ishida-kun and Sado-kun? What are they doing here? Looks like something big is going on"
As she tried to figure what was going on, the commander Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto came up to the hall and took center stage
"I have summoned you all on a matter requiring immediate action. As you may know, our Soul Society is only a part of many Societies that guide souls from different worlds to the afterlife and reincarnation. Today, the Soul Society of Hanten world desperately needs our help and has requested our support, both in manpower and wisdom."
He then took a deep breath and said
"A horrifying disaster has taken place in the Hanten World. In a really mere span of 4 days, almost 70% of the population in the planet has been killed…a count that equals almost 2 billion people which includes men, women and children"
"T-Two billion?!" Renji exclaimed
"In 4 days?!" Ichigo screamed
"But wouldn't the Soul Society know if there was an impending mass extinction? Preparations for such events begin months before." Byakuya asked
"As much as I refuse to believe it, it wasn't a mass extinction. It was a massacre."
All the people in the room were shocked at this. Orihime, Rangiku and Unohana put their hands on her agape mouths. Byakuya, Toshiro, Yoruichi , Soifon, Ukitake and Rukia stared in shock. Urahara and Kenpachi were intrigued. Sado and Ishida began sweating
"What the hell actually happened down there?!" Rukia exclaimed
"The details of what happened were unfortunately kept under covers by the authorities, but it is undeniable that something of unearthly force drove the events that took place there. In any case, due to the events that happened, the Hanten Soul Society is unable to keep up with the incoming souls. Millions of souls died with despair or regret, becoming prey to hollowfication. Not to mention due to this, there is the threat of Aizen coming there for the same reason. So to escort those souls to the afterlife safely is our utmost priority."
"Which kind of group would do such a monstrous act like that?" Rukia growled in anger
"It's not a group Rukia." Said Yamamoto
"Huh?"
"The whole massacre was carried out solely by only…one…man." He said as he lifted his index finger
All of the people were horrified again.
"One…person?!" Rukia asked with her eyes wide
"Hmm. The powers he used to commit the act are currently stripped of him. However, he was raised a soldier, so he's quite good in combat. The scary part, however, is that he didn't kill people being drunk on power. He planned every single move of it…he aimed to eliminate 80% of the population but was killed by the time he reached 70."
Everyone looked at him in shock
"A devil." Said Orihime
"But what intrigues me is that despite all the atrocities he has done, he hasn't been sentenced to hell. It was an order directly from Lord Enma"
"Why so?" Ukitake asked
"We wouldn't know until we head there."
"So where is he right now?" asked Sado
"Imprisoned. In chains in the Hanten Soul Society."
"What's this person's name Head Commander?" asked Byakuya
"Yeager. Eren Yeager."
Hanten- Japanese word for reverse since the AOT map is an upside down version of the real
one
