Prologue: Wings of Beginnings
Three thousand years ago, the Darkest Day... a being which created a black storm that nearly sucked up all energy in the region known to be Galar right now. This phenomenon caused Pokémon to enter their Dynamax or Gigantamax form, but also caused them to become berserk, wreaking havoc and nearly sending Galar to ruin. Salvation came at the bleakest hour with the arrival of two heroes, with a sword and shield respectively in hand, stopped the Darkest Day. The Darkest Day was put into deep sleep, and the heroes of sword and shield were called kings, but they disappeared shortly after before they are expected to rule over Galar.
As for the Darkest Day itself, its energy had leaked out all across Galar, creating strange formations of stone that are called Power Spots. They emit out energy which allows Pokémon to Dynamax. In addition, strange clusters of dark violet and red highlights are also found, eventually called Wishing Stars, a benefactor which allows one to allow Pokémon to Dynamax at near a Power Spot. As years come to pass before right now, a researcher named Oleana invented the Dynamax Bands, they store a Wishing Star inside them which allows Trainers to Dynamax Pokémon and allow them to utilize Max Moves, techniques which transcend over regular moves. With a Gigantamax state, it is instead called a G-Max Move.
A Pokémon in Dynamax or Gigantamax state grows tremendously massive in size and distorts the space around them into an alternate area, the latter altering their appearance along the way. However, their transformation doesn't last long, only for a duration of several minutes before the energy dissipates and the Pokémon returns back to normal proportions. Though, it is noted that in Pokémon Dens, Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon found situated in there can remain in their state until they are successfully captured by Trainers. It is spoken through researchers that Pokémon Dens bring others through another space.
And right now, in the present, the Darkest Day happened once again, reawakening the Pokémon known as Eternatus. It has been caused by the Macro Cosmos's president, Rose, who had sought to replenish Galar's Dynamax energy upon analysis of a prediction of shortage of Dynamax energy after a thousand years. However, he was unable to control it and it went wild to affect all Power Spots around the region. Thankfully, trainers by the name of Victor Sword and Hop are able to stop Eternatus, along with the help of the two heroes of sword and shield. Eternatus has been captured, putting an end to the Darkest Day...
Though... What are Wishing Stars? What is the Darkest Day? No one knows, for certain of their truth. Yet... what if the Wishing Stars become something different, attach themselves onto Pokémon? A mass that decides fate? There had been some speculation that Wishing Stars have spread out of Galar, but they aren't found anywhere...
Some believe... that Wishing Stars who attach themselves onto Pokémon, grant it to them.
