Prologue

"Okay Rose, don't move too far away from me."

A young girl, around the age of ten to eleven years old, with silver-white hair, and aqua eyes, was being taken out by her Grandmother, Gondul to the human world for some experience. It was a remote area in the human world, so Gondul assumed that they would be fine. Though her Grandmother called her Rose, her real name was Rossweisse,

"Yes, I wont go far."

Rossweisse walked forward, through a mostly abandoned town.

Her eyes cast themselves over the different ruins, and wondered what kind of battle had gone on for it to be so damaged.

Her curiosity was peaked even more when she saw that some magic symbols laid on the walls, and ground.

As she looked around however, she heard something that sounded like an explosion.

She looked back, and saw that it was in the area her Grandmother was.

Fearing the worst, she shot off in that direction to see what was going on.

However, in the midst of that, she saw people coming.

What she saw were five human adults, wearing clothes that looked like they belonged on priests.

They all wielded swords of light, and guns that could fire the bullets of light towards her. Rossweisse placed her hands out, and from that, a magic circle appeared.

The five approached her, Rossweisse shot her magic forward.

But the Exorcists dodged out of the way, with one being hit in the shoulder area, drawing blood from him, but didn't take him out.

"Don't try anything brat, now come here nice and slow, and we'll not hurt you. Promise."

"Somehow, I don't think you're telling the truth."

Rossweisse replied, trying to search for anything she could do.

But as they came closer, one brought up his sword, and thrusted it towards Rossweisse.

She let out a "No!" as she tried to defend with magic...

When suddenly, a flash of a being moved by, grabbed the wrist of the Exorcist, and using his other hand to embed into the Exorcists stomach with enough force he went firing back at his friends, knocking them all down to the ground.

Rossweisse gasped, and looked to see what it was.

The young boy that was doing this, couldn't have been older than ten to eleven years old, similar to herself, with soft facial features, a fair skin complexion. He wore tattered clothing across his lean body that had some muscle for his young age, with shoes that had seen better days. His hair was rather long for a boy, due to not having much chance to cut it. The colour of his hair was soft grey, with matching eyes, and his fringe held some black as well with it parting to the right hand side.

Around his neck, was a cross along with a pendant that could open, on his right wrist looked like a hand made bracelet, and on his right hip, he held a swords handle.

This young man's name is Akira, though to Rossweisse, she could see an Exorcists light blade hanging from his hip.

"Attacking and ganging up on a young girl, is rather cruel. If you wish to fight, then I'll accommodate you."

The boy spoke up, with Rossweisse looking on in astonishment.

The Exorcists all looked at one another, before showing amused looks.

"Yeah, right."

"You're a Devil child, you can't defeat all five of us at once!"

"This kids talking crap, he's one, and we're five, we've got numbers, and power on our side, he's got nothing!"

"A little Devil all alone, whoever you are kid, you're about to be finished!"

They seemed to be in disbelief, Rossweisse heard he was a Devil, and became intrigued, while Akira held out his sword.

"I'm asking you this once, stand down."

They laughed, finding it rather funny to hear a child say something like that.

Brandishing their weapons and showing almost feral like grins on their faces, they kept up their dangerous demeanour, and shot for Akira.

Akira exhales and proceeded to leap forward at high speed, Rossweisse watched as Akira began taking down the Exorcists.

Crossing the distance in a matter of a moment or two, he got before one of the Exorcists, and swung his light blade forward.

The way he moved, showed the Exorcists the kind of swordsmanship that he was using.

"An Exorcists swordsman style?! But you're a Devil!"

One yelled, Akira cut the man down, who tried to defend, but Akira used a bait to get him to swing left, and then he'd come in from the right, managing to take down the Exorcist in one fell swoop, surprising the others.

"Die Devil scum!"

Another Exorcist exclaimed, and aimed a gun filled with bullets of light for his head.

Rossweisse gasped, and began to call "Look..." but was stopped when Akira glanced at the Exorcist.

Before pulling the trigger, Akira vanishes from sight, only for him to appear above, his blade stabbing into the gun to stop it from firing, shattering it as Akira released a pulse of demonic power originating from his hand.

"Hah!"

Then he twirled and slammed his foot hard into the face of the Exorcist while adding his own demonic power, sending him flying across the area, smashing into a tree. The leaves of the tree came falling down all around the Exorcist as he laid there, unmoving.

Another one of the Exorcists looked worried, and rushed Akira, who swung at him with his blade rapidly.

Akira turned, parried the blade, the Exorcist being surprised.

"H-How can you do this?!"

Akira didn't reply, forcing the man's blade up above, giving Akira access to the man's upper body and sliced the Exorcist down, his eyes widening as he dropped down to the ground.

The second to last one became terrified, aiming her gun forward, and with a shaky hand, fired off multiple bullets of light.

Akira avoided all of the bullets with swift footwork, before getting before her, slicing the gun out of her hand and then impaled her shoulder, her eyes becoming wide like saucers, before she dropped down to the ground.

The last one became worried, and began moving back.

Akira looked towards him, so he froze in place.

"P-Please, don't do anything!"

Akira tilted his head, as the man's cowardly face revealed the truth to Akira.

"You ganged up on an innocent girl, and you want mercy now that you've lost?"

The Exorcist grit his teeth, before moving his hand forward, and tried to come at Akira with his blade.

Moving faster than the others, he got to the right hand side of Akira, and slashed down.

Akira raised his hand and as the blade of light made contact, it simply vanished without a trace.

Akira murmured "Worthless." something that made the Exorcist's eyes become dyed in fear as he pulled back, Rossweisse heard what he said, and became very surprised.

"N-No! Get away! Don't come near me you damn Devil scum!"

The Exorcist yelled, taking out his gun and firing all of the bullets towards Akira.

Akira moved his blade in very precise manners, deflecting and causing the bullets to become nullified, before he got before the man's body.

He then swung his sword down, ending the fight.

With the fight ended, Akira turned towards Rossweisse.

"I'm surprised, for a change these Exorcists aren't after me. Though they probably sensed you guys here, and thought they'd try to take you out. Though I think they were Stray Exorcists so..."

She looked on as he approached her.

She became worried, not sure what he was, so she began moving backwards.

She fell back, and landed on the ground as the boy approached her.

Rossweisse watched him reach his hand out, so she closed her eyes.

She thought maybe something was going to happen…

But all she felt was soft pets to her head.

She opened her eyes, and saw a soft kind smile directed towards her, her cheeks turning slightly red.

"Don't worry, they're nearly all gone now, you'll be safe here."

"Who..."

Rossweisse began, Akira winked, and saw some Exorcists coming.

"Goodbye, stay safe." Akira shot for the Exorcists, and sliced through some of them. "Come, this way Exorcist-kun's and Exorcist-chan's!"

Akira yelled, with the Exorcists turning towards him, and took off running at high speeds.

Rossweisse watched on, as her Grandmother soon came back, and got to her level.

"Rose! Rose! Are you okay?!"

Rossweisse didn't reply at first.

She looked in the direction Akira took off in, and tilted her head curiously, before a small smile appeared on her face, murmuring "I wonder who that was?" Gondul noticing her granddaughters slightly red cheeks, mentally questioning what that was about, and also wondering who that boy was...

Over a day or so later, an older man, who had a striking resemblance to Akira himself, only with fully grey hair, rather than Akira's own, having a similar facial structure of a handsome man, saw the battlefield, having picked up a trace of the boys aura.

This man, was Diehauser Belial, the Uncle of Akira, who was tirelessly searching for him.

However, by the time they got there, Akira had already vanished.

"Spread out, see if you can find a trace of him."

He ordered his peerage around him.

As they did, Diehauser examined the bodies that had been left behind.

He looked at them from head to toe, and couldn't see anything out of the ordinary.

But from one of them, he did feel a trace of Akira's aura.

"...Akira, so you were here after all, I'm glad. Even though we got some of your aura picked up, I wasn't sure if it was a diversionary tactic from the Church to lure me away, but these slices, I believe it would be how an Exorcist would take down opponents, and has traces of your aura, I do hope that this isn't a trick by the Church and I'm on the right track. Sometimes I think you're a bit too good at hiding your aura...though, from what I've witnessed, the amount of times you've been attacked, of course you have to hide yourself or suffer major strikes from Exorcists...damn it Cleria, I'm sorry I can't find your son...but he's still alive, and I'm going to find him, no matter what. The Devils might or in some cases, can't help me...but, I'll find him for you."

Diehauser exhales, and begins walking away from the area.

He could only imagine the horrors Akira was enduring right now.

Alone out there, with no one supporting him.

It tore Diehauser up inside.

It was cruel, and Diehauser felt his blood boiling knowing that a child was out there, all alone, and had to fend for himself from constant attack.

It only made him more determined to find and try to obtain Akira no matter what would happen.

Over three weeks after that event, Akira still was on his own, travelling around and hoping to find a way to get out of his situation. Having found no traces of an Exorcist for about a week, Akira was able to breathe a little easier.

Though he also knew that he was being tracked, so he didn't have the luxury of staying in many places for all that long.

As he walked, he happened to come across what looked like a large body of water, his eyes lighting up.

He then moved towards it, while making sure the area was as safe as possible. He didn't want to draw attention to himself, so he didn't try to use his demonic powers, or the abilities that would create a barrier that he learned from his Father, as he knew that the Church would be able to find him.

He made sure he wad as safe as possible, before peeling out of his clothes save for his underwear in case he needed to act quickly, he didn't wish to be fully naked for that, and slipped into the water.

"Aah, this is good~"

He happily sang to himself.

A small time to rest, was something that Akira quite liked to feel.

Resting his back against the side of the large body of water, his eyes cast out over it, and looked down at it.

He thought about his current situation, and what would be the best thing to do next.

He could go east, or west, he wasn't entirely sure which would be the best way.

"Mom, Dad...I hope that you're doing well, and that you are okay. At least I have some moments to relax, I can't feel any auras around me, no Exorcists, or anything like that. Still, it seems that they might be closing in on me, based on what I have tracked….damn, I need to get moving pretty soon..."

Akira thought as he began bathing himself in the water. It wasn't the warmest of waters, but it was still better than other times that he had a chance to bathe lately.

As he thought, he suddenly heard a large loud noise coming from the right. The forest area stationed over there, so he quickly used his senses, detecting what he believed to be a Devils aura.

He didn't know what kind of Devil, but it felt rather strong.

He also felt something else.

Something that he couldn't quite believe.

"This feeling...it feels demonic, yet also like a Dragon…? Even some human...could it be, someone like me…?"

Akira wasn't the best sensor in the world, but from what he learned from his parents, he could differentiate between different types of auras to tell what species he was looking at or nearby, and that's what he felt right now.

So he pulled himself out of the water, as he saw something come flying at him.

It was a young girl, with silver hair that went down past her neck, but not much further than that, and white wings coming out of her back. They looked mechanical to Akira's eyes, the young girls clothes looked as if they had seen better days.

When she saw Akira, her eyes widened and her cheeks became slightly red when seeing his state of dress.

"Who the hell are you?"

She demanded, flipping before reaching Akira, and landed on the ground.

Akira went to reply, when a Devils aura came rushing for him and the girl.

"No time."

The girl pulled back, the aura flew by her.

It went towards Akira, who picked up his bladeless sword, and pointed it forward.

Switching it on, the girl saw a blade of light appearing, she murmured "An Exorcist..." and watched as the aura of the Devil came for him, only for him to swing his sword out.

As he did, a special aura ran through Akira's hand, to the blade, as he mutters "Worthless." with the blade cleaving through the demonic aura as it was made out of butter, causing all of the aura to vanish.

The girl was brought in surprise as the wild beast came for them.

The girl points her hand forward, and gathers demonic power, firing off a concussive blast of demonic energy.

Akira's lips curled upwards, and he thought "She's like me after all." due to never finding someone like him, he had to be happy about this, and wanted to know more and more about this girl before anything else.

The demonic aura blasted the side of the demonic beast like Devil coming for them. The aura was indeed strong, and caused the Devil to bleed, but it retaliated, raising a giant claw and swung it down for the girl.

She narrowly avoids it, as Akira jumps forward.

The girl watches him use his blade of light to cleave through the Devils hand.

The blade went all the way through, and then the boy placed his hand out.

"Get sealed."

Using what looked like holy energy, he recites a chant, and a barrier surrounds the enemy.

The girl was convinced this boy was an Exorcist, but yet was helping her out.

It didn't make sense to her, but she, with her dealing of past Exorcists, wasn't entirely sure what to believe when it came to him.

"Hey, lets take it down, okay?"

Akira suggests to the girl, who looks back with a baffled expression on her face.

But seeing the Devil beginning to break the restrains Akira placed on it, she shrugged.

"Fine, lets do it quickly."

"Right, lets do this."

Akira replied with a calm attitude, and also a curious one.

She then concentrated the aura in her hand, growing it more and more, shooting it off for the contained Devil, and blasted half of its body away.

As she did, Akira came up from the other side, and used his blade to slice through him several times. With speedy hand movements, the sword left a trail of light behind, as the blade cleaved through several of the parts of the Devils body.

With their combined efforts, the Devil was destroyed within a matter of moments.

Akira exhales, leaning forward, with the girls eyes going towards his body.

She had a healthy redness on her cheeks since she hadn't seen a boy near naked before. But also she had questions, concerns that this boy could be an Exorcist, by the equipment he had, and the way he moved as well.

The only thing she didn't know was about the Worthless power since she didn't know everything about Devil clans currently, she wasn't entirely sure what the power was. But she knew the power was something that could be dangerous since she saw it erase power before her eyes.

Even then, she didn't want to take a chance, so she aimed her hand forward, and shot off some power.

Akira notices it coming and cuts it down.

"Hey, what are you doing?"

The girl looked on, seeing the blade of light, and the eyes that Akira had.

She couldn't discern if he was an enemy or not.

But she had only ever seen an Exorcist wielding a blade of light, so she had to prepare herself for whatever fight was going to come for her now.

"An Exorcist, you're only going to turn on me. All of them do."

The girl rocketed herself off towards him, her fist coated in a demonic aura.

Akira responds by blocking the aura, as well as activating his Worthless ability through his sword, the girl watches as her aura begins to disappear.

"What the..."

"Wait, please. I don't want to fight you."

"Makes a change from other Exorcists."

The girl pulls back, charges her fists up with demonic aura, and unleashes the blasts towards Akira.

Exhaling, Akira brings up his blade of light, swinging out his blade. Using his Worthless trait from the Belial side of his family, he was able to cut through the demonic aura, and reduce it nothingness, surprising the girl a good deal.

He then leaps forward, and comes to the right hand side of her, where the girl turns her hand and aims it right for Akira's face.

"You can nullify powers, can you? Or, is that a simple trick to get me to lower my guard? Some kind of illusion perhaps? Though I think the former is true."

The girl releases a blast of aura right for Akira's face.

Akira bends his body back, avoiding the blast before doing a full flip, landing on the ground as the girl crosses the distance, aiming a fist full of demonic energy for his upper body to take him out, which Akira dodges, so she comes at him with a myriad of strikes to try and catch him off guard.

He noted her speed, and the strength behind her attacks despite her small stature being a child.

When she came in from the right, and was close to touching his face, Akira raised his blade, blocking the attack, then he released a pulse of his power from his body, which caused the girl to be blasted away, but she regained her stance as she flew back, landing on the ground gracefully.

"Wait, I can explain, but I need you to…"

He didn't get a chance to speak, as she shot off for him once more.

He wondered what kind of experiences she had with Exorcist's for her to perceive him as such a threat.

If it was like his own experiences, then he couldn't deny that it would be bad. As right now, he probably would feel the same way if he saw an Exorcist like being before his eyes, so he couldn't blame her for feeling defensive as she was.

As she gets close, he sees that she fills her fist with her demonic aura, something that he recognizes immediately.

He catches the fist with his hand, and casts Worthless on her power, erasing the power from her hand, pushing her back, and aims his sword towards her body, hoping that it would stop her from progressing.

"Wait, I'm not your enemy, I don't have any intention on fighting a fellow half breed!"

The girl paused when she heard that.

"What did you say?"

"You're one too, right? Half human, half Devil?"

The girl wore surprise on her face, as he let go of her fist. She retracted her hand, and simply stared at Akira, attempting to figure the young man out for herself, the way that his eyes seemed to display no hostility despite the fact that she essentially had tried to take him out, made her all the more curious if she wasn't already beforehand.

"How do you know that?"

"My parents taught me how to sense such things, I can tell, you've even got a bit of Dragon in you too. With those metal wings on your back."

The girl takes a look at her wings, and then towards Akira once more.

"You know what these are?"

"I...think that I do. If I'm right, they're very special."

The girl looked at Akira.

He gives a half smile towards her.

She looks him up and down.

She then focuses in on his eyes.

"First, there's something I want to ask you."

"Hmm, what?"

The girl, with some redness on her cheeks, speaks up with mostly surprise at how he didn't seem embarrassed.

"Maybe you should put some clothes on?"

Akira blinks.

He looks down, seeing he was still in his underwear only, then looks towards the girl, laughing as he rubs the back of his head, yet he didn't seem to have any embarrassment on his face either.

"Haha, I was in the middle of a bath you see, then things got intense with the whole you attacking me that it must have slipped my mind. Anyway, I'll go and get dressed." He began moving backwards, but then gave a mostly innocent but slightly teasing wink. "No peaking~"

The girl looked surprised by that slightly teasing tone as he scurried off to get his clothes on.

When he came back, now dressed, he saw the girl sat on the ground, yet she still looked intense.

He sat opposite her a small distance away.

They sat in silence for a good minute, neither unable to truly begin as they weren't sure what to say.

However, Akira who was quite intrigued by what he was seeing before him, began speaking.

"I'm surprised to find another like me, out here. I can sense your aura, you have quite the wellspring of demonic power."

The girl raised a brow.

"And you said you were also a half breed?"

Akira confirmed it with a nod of his head.

"Yes, you could call me that. Half breed, hybrid, whichever you like. I'm half human, half Devil. I'm so happy to find someone that's like me. It's been a long time since I've seen anyone that's friendly enough to speak with me, or even having a chance to speak to anyone for a while. And I've never met anyone that's like me, it's really amazing."

The girl paused, and her eyes looked at the ground.

She thought about what he said, and how she thought about her own situation as well.

"...Yeah, same, haven't met anyone like me either. I was surprised that you have Exorcist stuff, yet you're not one?"

"I learned from my Dad, he's an Exorcist."

The girl once more was in surprise.

She hadn't heard of anything like this beforehand.

"But you're half Devil. Why would an Exorcist and a Devil have a kid?"

Akira laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his head.

"That's a long story to get into, and some stuff that I can't really share right now since we just met and all, I'm sure you're the same."

The girl accepted what he said, and also believed she had stuff that she wasn't about to share either.

He then continued, as he pulled ever slightly closer. He didn't want to worry her, so he didn't move much closer.

"But, I'm glad to have come across someone like me….ooh right, how rude of me, I didn't even tell you my name huh. Sorry about that, my name is Akira, it's a pleasure to meet you."

The girl looked at him for a few moments, her eyes looking at him from head to toe to try and work him out.

She could sense some holy power from him, it felt like an Exorcist, yet not at the same time.

She couldn't work it out, and kept a distance as she tried her best to work him out.

"...The names Vali."

Akira smiled at the name.

"Vali-san, that's a nice name."

Vali paused and didn't reply at first.

She didn't know what to say.

Akira however was rather happy to finally get to see a friendly face. Even if she wasn't the most talkative, anything was better than nothing at all, as he all he had so far were enemies that were trying to attack and kill him.

As they talked, Akira felt like it would be good to travel with her.

He didn't know much about her, but he was tired of being alone, and having someone that was like him, a half human and a half Devil, around, he'd want to be around that, so he wished to ask her about it, and see what she was thinking on that front.

"By the way, do you mind if I ask you something?" Vali shrugged, so he did just that. "Since we're both half humans and Devils, I think that maybe we should work together? At least for a little while. Maybe I could help you get home-"

"There's no home for me out there anymore."

She replied coldly, surprising Akira slightly.

He felt sad if that was the case, but also understood since he felt the same right now.

He didn't know if his parents were out there waiting for him.

He could only hope, but the more time passed, the more the uncertainty of it all felt.

"I see, I'm sorry about that Vali-san." As he spoke, he saw that the girl was beginning stand up. "Erm, are you going somewhere?"

"I have to see if you are actually who you say you are, which means I have to be cautious of you."

As she said it, she retreated further back, with Akira furrowing his brows.

"Wait, you don't have to go."

As he said it, she had already walked away.

Akira felt disheartened about it, and thought about going after her.

But as he did think about it, he saw that she had come back, but was sticking to the shadows, seemingly keeping a distance, while also wondering more about him.

Because he could sense and see her, she also knew that trying to fully hide was pointless, but by being in the shadows it seemed she wished to observe, and if that was the case, then Akira didn't mind that.

"I see, she isn't trusting me yet, makes sense. We only just met, but I hope we do gain one another's trust. While I am happy to meet someone like me...I don't know her either, but Dad said a stranger is a friend that you haven't met yet, while Mom also said to remember to be cautious of strangers, so I'll take both advices, and do my best while also being careful. I would like a friend...it's been so long without having anyone to talk to...gets really lonely...Iri-chan, I wish I could see you again..."

Akira smiled and went to go and get some food.

He quickly went around the area, found a fish, which he was happy to see, and got it quickly. He then started a fire, and began cooking the fish for himself to eat.

He also saw that Vali was watching him like a hawk.

He turned around and smiled.

"Want some fish? There's enough for the two of us."

Vali wasn't sure if she should accept it.

But she felt a rumbling in her stomach, so she murmured "Fine." but kept a distance, and kept her keen eyes on him. It looked as if she was seeing if he was going to put something weird in the food, that's how he felt anyway.

When he finished, he gave some fish to her, and began eating his own food.

She looked at the food before her, then towards Akira.

Since he was eating the same thing that she was, she didn't have a problem with it, so she began eating…

"Good..."

Akira lifted his head.

"You like it?"

Vali paused, but then nodded her head, and faced him.

"...It's good. I'm enjoying it."

She casually admitted, not wanting to say that this was probably one of the best meals she had in a good while. She herself didn't know how to cook, so seeing the freshly cooked fish, and how it was prepared with what little ingredients that he had to work with.

"I'm glad, my Mom taught me how to cook. She said it's good for...what did she say...erm...right, husband training~"

Vali felt the corner of her lips tug upwards ever so slightly.

"Husband training huh."

"Yeah, Mom used to say all sorts of weird things like that..."

He started off happy, but remembering his Mother, left him feeling a little disheartened.

Vali watched as Akira continued eating the fish before him.

They ate in silence, and didn't even look at one another.

It felt awkward at first, Akira wouldn't lie about it.

Though as time went on, tensioned eased as the niceness of the food went through both of them.

Akira though was just happy with the fact that he was able to finally have a fellow human Devil hybrid around to interact with.

He was glad to meet someone else like him, now he wished to know even more about her.

Though he remembered to be cautious and while he knew Vali was strong, he didn't exactly view her as a threat.

If anything, he felt like she was a bit lonely, something he very much understood.

The next two days went by, and Akira noticed that Vali would follow him from behind. Seldom did she say anything, but when she did, it usually was to ask what he was doing, or what kind of food where they going to eat.

He discovered that she was someone that did like tasting different foods.

"By the way, Vali-san. You don't have to walk from all the way back there."

Vali didn't reply.

Instead, she asked a different question.

"Do you know where you're going?"

Akira paused, and turned around towards her.

"I don't know, I'm just going places I haven't been before. I've tried summoning and the likes, but when I use my powers, the Exorcists and other beings are able to track me down immediately. How about you? Do you know where you're going?"

"...No, it's a similar thing to you, I haven't got any particular destination in mind, but anywhere is better than where I was before."

Akira let out a small little laugh.

"Yeah, same here~" Akira's laugh made Vali pause, and stare at him curiously. "What?"

"I'm still trying to work you out, I'm finding it hard, but the more I watch you, the more I think I understand about you."

"Same with you Vali-san. While you're watching me, I'm also watching you."

Vali adopted a half smirk.

"I'd be worried if you didn't watch me. So what have you discovered?"

"Well, you're someone that prefers acting alone, but you're willing to cooperate. Also, based on the reaction to the food I've cooked, you haven't had many good meals in your life, and by the way that you have interacted with me, you haven't interacted with many your age either."

Vali was surprised by the accuracy of his words.

To the point that he was dead on, which surprised and amazed her at the same time his deduction skills.

"Yeah, might be true. I've also learned a bit about you. Though I'm curious, you are half Devil, yet you wear a cross around your neck. If you are half Devil, then that would hurt you, wouldn't it? You couldn't be able to keep that on without being damaged indefinitely. God doesn't smile upon people like us."

"That's very true, God doesn't want me, but my Dad and Mom do."

Vali wasn't surprised that he said that, it was clear that God didn't want either of them.

But it did make her all the more curious as to why he even wore one if he wasn't a believer in the faith.

"So, the cross?"

Akira looks down at the cross around his neck, then adopts a small smile.

"This cross, it's training."

"Training?"

Vali asked, intrigued.

Akira nods, and holds the cross up from his neck.

"Yes, building holy resistance faster. The cross symbolizes holy power. Plus, it was my Dad's, one of the only things that I have of his now. As I said, God might not want me, but my Dad did, and even though he believed and worshipped God, he still was open minded, and wanted peace between people like him and my Mom, because of that...I want the same thing. Though it isn't like that will be easy, not everyone is gonna think like that..."

Hearing his words, Vali was even more intrigued than ever before, so she moved closer.

Akira noticed that she didn't shy away from him either, which was something that he was glad to see.

"So, it's to train you for the more dangerous holy objects, like light swords, bullets and the likes? It's actually pretty smart to do such a thing, your body would eventually get used to it through intense training, I've heard that you can build resistances to those things that you're weak against, so seeing this makes sense."

Akira felt like that Vali was praising him.

"So yeah, I wear it to remember what my Father taught me as well as to train my body. He believed in God, but I can't say that I do. It is as you said, God doesn't want me, so why would I want a God that hates my existence? My Mom and I respected my Dad's love for God, but he was also aware...of what God would feel about me. So, I choose to believe in what my parents have taught me, what they gave to me, and who they were. God might not want me, but they did, so that's all that matters to me. It's why, I have to get back to them. I just...want to go home."

Listening to his words, made Vali wish to understand more about his family.

Compared to her own, she was very curious about him and his family.

What he was like and how he felt as a whole.

"Your parents...they sound nice. Are they?"

Akira gave a fond smile, and thought about his parents, and how they were like.

Wondering if they were doing well right now.

"Yes, they're the best. My Mom's so gentle, and sweet. She also was very curious about many things, something I am too. My Dad, he might have been an Exorcist, but he was also very kind to many people, Devils, humans. He taught me many things, he was really loving to me."

Vali pondered what it was like to have a family like that.

That's when a vision of her Mother came to her mind, remembering the kindness that she received from her Mother.

"If they were great, then why aren't you with them?"

Akira pulls back, folding his arms, and looked down.

"...Because we were attacked and separated."

Akira replied with the truth without going into details about it.

Vali understood him a little bit more now, and they continued on together swiftly.

Another day passes them by, and Vali still hadn't said much. It seemed that whenever Akira wished to speak to her, she usually wouldn't say much about herself, nor would she attempt to get even closer.

He didn't mind all that much, the simple act of travelling with someone was something that he liked doing.

Akira caught her eyes wandering down his back ever so subtly at times, but she'd immediately pull her eyes away, and seemingly mentally berate herself.

Though he did see where she was looking, he didn't comment on it, finding it a curiously thing.

"You said the other day, you had an idea what these metal wings are."

Vali suddenly speaks up, causing Akira to pause.

Akira smiled.

"I was waiting for you to ask. So yeah, those metal wings of yours, after thinking about it some more, I believe they're a Longinus."

"Longinus…?"

Vali was in doubt, she didn't know much about such things.

Akira explained swiftly.

"Yes, it's a Sacred Gear, in a tier all its own you could say. There's currently, thirteen in total in the Longinus category, and those wings...my Dad taught me about them, the supposed gifts from God, though in truth as long as you've got human blood, whether fully human or like us, then you're eligible to gain a Sacred Gear, even luckier people gain Longinus'. Seems like you're the latter of those, you're a very special existence~"

As he let out a small chuckle, Vali became perplexed.

"So, those wings are something called a Longinus? A Sacred Gear that's in a special tier, that only people that have human blood can get, I'm with you so far. So, do you know what this Sacred Gear, Longinus thing is called? And what it can do?"

Akira was glad that Vali was beginning to open up more.

She started off as hostile, which he thought made sense.

As time went on, she was still cautious.

But now, it seemed that she was willing to be a bit more open with him, which he was glad about.

"I believe so, yours are called...Boosted...no, that's the other...right, right! Divine Dividing! You have a Dragon companion inside those metal wings, The Dragon inside, is one of the Heavenly Dragons, a very powerful Dragon with only few Dragons above yours in power. Do you remember how you summoned those wings?"

"I was being attacked by a large group, was in the middle of being taken out, and they appeared. Afterwards, as I touched my opponent, I felt my power suddenly increase. Because of that, I was able to overpower the enemies, and managed to survive."

Akira nodded slowly, taking in the information that she was giving him.

"Yes, that's Divine Dividing's power, and it makes sense you'd awaken it in such a high stress situation. So the power of your Sacred Gear, according to what my Dad taught me, halves the power of your enemies, and transfers it to you. If I remember right, you can only do that once every ten seconds. Though with Balance Breaker, I'm sure that countdown is cut down to nothing so you can do it as long as your body is able to hold the power, everything has limits after all."

"Balance...right, you're going to have to tell me what that is as well, though from how you've spoken, I'm going to assume it is some form of power up for the Sacred Gear."

"Exactly right Vali-san~ It's like an evolution of the Sacred Gear, and depending on your desires, and your emotions, it can evolve to have new powers as well as the old powers. Also, I don't mind telling you, but I'd also like to know some stuff about you as well. If you don't mind?"

Vali shrugged her shoulders.

"Seems fair, I guess. If you're telling me stuff, I guess I can tell you some stuff as well."

"Great, then lets..."

As they were talking, they individually felt the presence of several people coming closer. They had rather good auras around them, Akira even felt that there were over twenty this time.

Vali felt the same thing, and paused.

Both Vali and Akira looked at one another, with the former speaking first.

"We've got guests."

"Lets show them the door then, they're unwelcome guests, Vali-san."

Vali let out a small laugh.

"Yeah, you're right, they weren't invited to our party."

As they said it, a good number of Exorcists appeared. Wielding swords of light and guns that fired bullets, they all took aim towards the two half Devil children.

"Two for the price of one? We only expected one Devil spawn, but two, haha, alright then kids, time to say goodbye."

He spoke with a crass tone, something neither Akira or Vali appreciated.

The others also looked rather dangerous looking.

Some seemed to be simply doing their job, Akira noted.

But most seemed like they were enjoying this, something Akira didn't appreciate at all.

One Exorcist stood out to Akira, being a cut above the rest.

It was an Exorcist that had a buzz cut, and his eyes displayed a calmness not like any of the others had at all.

Vali and Akira looked at one another, before nodding.

"Akira, take left, I've got right."

"Right, lets do this."

Brandishing his sword, Akira shot off left, while Vali went right.

"Take them down!"

The Exorcist's didn't waste movements, and shot off for them.

Akira saw two coming in from the right, so he swung his blade out, and allowed his Worthless power to shine. Wrapping around the blade, he was able to cleave through the swords of light, making them vanish and connect with their bodies at the same time, cutting them down within an instant.

Vali at the same time charged forward, leaping up on one, avoiding the blade, and embedded her knee into the Exorcists face, before she cupped her hands together, unleashing a strong burst of demonic power right into the upper body of the human, blasting him, and two more behind him, taking them out.

"What the hell?! Have this!"

One Exorcist aimed his gun for Akira, who held up his sword, and murmured "Worthless." and he used his sword like a shield, causing the bullets to vanish as soon as they touched the blade, before he himself vanished.

He appeared behind the Exorcist, who received a harsh slice to his upper body, sending him down to the ground.

Vali noticed that, and adopted a half smirk, thinking "Not bad Exorcists Devil boy." before she saw an enemy coming from the right, so Vali slammed her hand into his torso, forcing him to bend, then she uppercut the Exorcist, and defeated him instantly.

The human with the buzz cut Akira was cautious about, watched on with curiosity as the pair of children took down the enemies. One after the other, Akira and Vali managed to defeat all of the enemies at the same time.

That was until he was the last remaining one.

"To be honest, when I heard that there was a child that had the power to kill trained Exorcists, I couldn't believe my ears."

"Yes, though I am defending myself, from your constant attacks."

Akira replied truthfully.

He wasn't someone that was seeking these kills.

He had to protect his life.

The Exorcist laughed.

"Yeah, I thought it was something like that. Well, it's alright, because I was asked to come for you myself." As he said it, he held up his hand and from that, a bow of light appeared, Akira's eyes widened as did Vali's own. "I'm good at slaying scummy Devils such as yourself."

From the bow and arrow, Akira watches as a myriad of arrows rain towards them.

Each composed of light that could slay them.

Vali took to dodging them and shooting down the others, Akira on the other hand invalidated the light arrows with his sword, and Worthless power, believing and seeing that the power before him was light.

But not from Angels.

"It's a Sacred Gear Vali-san."

"Hmm, a Sacred Gear that shoots out arrows of light?"

"Yes, I don't know the name of it, but this man is human and it isn't Magic he is using either, so it has to be a Sacred Gear."

The human snickered.

"Yes, that's right boy." The Exorcist began, showcasing a wild grin on his face. "Even if you know of it, it doesn't make a difference."

The array of arrows kept coming for them, so Akira slashes forward, and dashes at the same time.

However, the moment he got in close, the Exorcist smirks, and summons a light arrow to his hand, and moved it like a sword towards Akira's face to try and take him out, only for Akira to block and erase it with Worthless.

He tried to follow it up with a slash to his body to take him down, but the Exorcist reveals a gun and aims it towards Akira's face. Pulling the trigger, the bullet misses Akira by mere inches as he evades, and slashes at the same time.

The Exorcist also dodges out of the way, before Vali comes up, landing a harsh kick to the man's body, sending the enemy flying backwards.

The enemy groaned, his mind filling with pain at the harsh kick Vali gave him.

"Damn it..."

He looked at his bleeding face, and his two enemies before him.

Vali and Akira came together, the Exorcist showed a dark look to his face, before cupping his hands together.

"Fine...you want to fight me like this, I'll show you my true power!"

Akira and Vali watch as the power grows around his hands. The arrow of light that was roughly a usual size of a regular arrow, grew larger and larger, to the point that they looked like thick pillars of light within his hands.

"Vali-san, look out. It seems that he's increased his aura a bit."

Vali nods, and gets prepared to fight.

The enemy then aims the large thick arrows towards them, and fires it off.

Moving much faster than before, Akira barely had time to dodge out of the way, much less use his power to erase it.

Another came for Vali, who manages to avoid it but received a small cut across her cheek.

She winced at the feeling, while Akira could see the light caused her some damage.

Akira sees another one coming, so he swings out, and calls out "Worthless!" dispelling it out of existence, but another one comes for his body which manages to block once more but the enemy uses this chance to come from the right hand side.

Moving swiftly, the enemies arrow began to charge to fire...

But just then, Vali sweeps in and delivers a shot of demonic power right for the mans body, blasting him several meters away within a single shot, blood leaked out of his body and for a few moments, he groaned and rolled around on the ground in a good deal of pain.

Akira then turned his sword onto the enemy, with the man bleeding a good deal.

"This is going to be the end."

The man clenched his teeth together, showing a highly aggressive look to his face before turning his large fast moving arrows right towards them.

"Don't think you're going to win here kids! I will destroy you!"

Vali and Akira watch as the enemy begins firing the arrow off.

Akira uses his blinding speed to get up close, stabbing into the arrow, and calls out "Worthless." which causes the arrow to vanish in the air, before he and Vali together aim their hands forward, gathering demonic power.

Then together, they fire off their attacks together, finishing the enemy off once and for all.

Akira and Vali exhale slowly, dropping to the ground in some tiredness between them.

"Phew, good thing that they've been dealt with now."

Vali nods in agreement.

"Yeah, it was quite the fight, I'm surprised that many came."

Akira however shook his head.

"I'm not entirely surprised, I thought that many might come soon enough."

Vali raised a brow.

"You have dealt with that many before?"

Akira sighs, nodding a single time.

"Yes, this isn't anything new to me. Though that last guy was tougher than one's I've had to deal with in a while, seems like they have ramped up their game again."

Vali thought it was rather telling, she had dealt with a good number of people before, but it didn't seem new that this was happening with Akira.

So she moved closer, and folded her arms.

"Don't forget that you've got to teach me about this Longinus stuff."

Akira adopts a small smile.

"Does that mean you're going to come with me then?"

Vali shrugged her shoulders.

"I guess, I don't have anywhere else to go. Besides, I've seen that you aren't my enemy. Strength in numbers, need someone I can rely on to watch my back as I grow to be the strongest."

"Haha, I see. Yes, that's a good way to look at it, as I also wish to become very strong too Vali-san."

Akira was glad.

He finally had a travelling companion.

Though it started off as an odd friendship, one born more out of necessity than anything else due to the harsh conditions that they both were going through at the time, overtime it was going to become something more than that.

Though Akira was happy that now, he didn't have to travel alone.

And if he had help, then maybe, just maybe he'd be able to get in contact with his parents, and with Diehauser again, so he could finally go home.

Sitting within the Underworld, was a certain Devil. A Devil that was many hundreds of years old yet he only looked middle aged. He has black hair, and some would say peaceful violet eyes, that only hide the rage that was inside.

This man's name, is Zekram Bael.

His eyes looked over a certain picture in his hand.

His anger grew as he stared at the image.

"Even though this should have been cleared already, as long as the boy lives, the status quo could be shifted and depending on what that child knows, then certain things could come to light, and the situation could be shifted within the Underworld...damn child, if you had perished that night then this wouldn't be a problem. But somehow you're able to stay a step ahead, it seems your parents taught you well on how to survive. They probably had this drilled into your head, that this could be an eventuality, and you're able to stay off the radar. I guess that also includes from the Underworld, they would have told him that only Diehauser could be trusted..."

Zekram took a sip of his drink, staring at the image he had in his hand.

The image of Akira at that.

Though he was a young child, Zekram deemed him too dangerous to live.

"This child...I don't want to, but he is in the land occupied by the Church. If they have to, they'll even have their heavy hitter take him out. I'm sure that they would also agree, like the time we came together to keep the status quo, yes this will have to happen again. It might be excessive, but there's one man that will get this job done from their side. Since it is a place the Devils simply cannot interfere, the Church will be able to handle this...sorry young man, but you're an existence that wasn't meant to be, your death has to come. If you're allowed to live, there's no telling what might happen, and if you truly unlock your undeniable incredible power...then it could be highly dangerous indeed."

Zekram wasn't someone that took thrills out of this.

But he was cold enough to excuse this act as simply keeping the status quo.

To fulfil such things from both sides, he was willing to assist in the murder of Akira, and now, was going to send secret word to the Churches side in order to have the child die...

In another part of the world, an elderly gentleman sat down. He, despite his age, was a tall well build man that was around the height of two meters tall. With white hair, and bulging muscles, his eyes went towards the person who had brought him here to the meeting.

The man's name is Vasco Strada.

The old man looked perplexed as he peered at a picture of a young child.

After looking at this child's face, Vasco couldn't understand it.

Why would the Church bother killing a child?

He himself also didn't like the idea of slaying a child.

"You called me, to exterminate this child? He's only a child, he couldn't be older than eleven years old, maybe even younger than that. He looks innocent to me, and this image of the child, has blood on his face. So why are we attacking a child, no matter if he's a Devil or not?"

"Eminence Strada, though he has an innocent face, and is quite young, he isn't to be underestimated. We have sent good Exorcists for this child, and they have been dealt with."

"Why this child?"

Vasco asked, still confused that the Church was asking someone like him to go and kill a child.

That in of itself was also a hard to even think about.

Taking a child's life, no matter where he came from, wasn't something Vasco was comfortable with.

"He's a Devil, and while I'm not entirely sure of the orders myself, they have come from people higher than myself, requesting your expertise. Other Exorcist's have been called to different locations and because you are the closest to the child's last known location. Will you accept the mission to exorcise this child?"

Vasco looked at the image of the young boy,

"I still haven't heard the reason why. Has this child attacked many Exorcist's? And if so, what are the circumstances behind the attacks? Why are Exorcists going after this boy in the first place?"

"I cannot say how it has begun, but I know that this child is gaining a reputation as the Exorcist Slayer. He has killed a good number of Exorcists that have been sent after him."

"So, he was defending himself?"

"It appears to be. But, without having all information, that's all I can tell you."

Vasco didn't look pleased as he looked over the reports.

He didn't like this, going to slay a child without knowing anything about the circumstances.

"I see. Even if he is a Stray Devil, he's still a child, but this has come from the higher ups, killing Exorcists, yet he's defending himself, and he's so young as well..."

Vasco stood up, and began walking away.

His heart and mind were in war.

To take the life of what looked like an innocent child even if a Devil, or to disobey the very faith that he had put his trust into his entire life.

It wasn't an easy decision that he could come too.

However, it was something that he, as an Exorcist, would have to deal with.

And all he could think about right now, was the fact that he was about to go and kill a child...it truly did weigh on him a good deal.

Meanwhile, as that was going on, Diehauser arrived at a previous location that Akira and Vali were at. He was only a small time behind them, but to Diehauser, it might as well have been an eternity.

Diehauser was naturally drawn to worry as he thought about the longer that Akira was away from him, the more likely he could be taken out.

But, he also felt like Akira truly was a survivor, with how hard he had been going…

Suddenly, Diehauser felt a new presence coming.

It was a presence he didn't expect to feel.

Nonetheless, he gets into a fighting stance, his eyes going towards the descending dark Angel.

With black wings that looked like everlasting midnight, his violet eyes went towards Diehauser.

"Hello, Champion-kun. I'm shocked to see you this far away from the Underworld."

"...Azazel, why are you here?"

The newly revealed Azazel let out a small laugh, his eyes going towards Diehauser.

"Sorry to interrupt you, but I believe that we're looking for the same person."

"Why are you after him?"

Azazel blinks, then cocks his head.

"Him? Oh, I thought you were after Vali..."

"Who's Vali?"

Azazel laughs awkwardly.

"So you aren't after…but, it seems you're on the trail of Vali as well. Though it seems Vali has gained a new companion. Probably this boy you're also after. Hey, if we're looking for people travelling together, we don't have to be enemies, right?"

Diehauser looks at Azazel cautiously.

He didn't know who Vali was.

But it was clear, at least he hoped, that Azazel wasn't after Akira.

Since the Underworld wouldn't help, even if there were people that did want to help like some Maou's and did do their best with what they could do, even if they were being stopped by others.

Diehauser wondered, if he spoke to Azazel, and came together with him...would he finally be able to find Akira before it was too late?

End chapter!

So, this is the first chapter of the new story! It started off with Akira travelling on his own, and by circumstance, met up with Vali, and briefly Rossweisse, managing to protect her. Though neither Vali or Akira fully trusted the other at first, eventually after travelling and seeing how the other was, they agreed working together made the most sense.

Meanwhile, Diehauser's searching for his nephew, who's constantly being attacked by Exorcists and the likes, and by the end, it seems the strongest of all Exorcists is coming for him, in the form of Vasco Strada! Zekram really wants Akira dead huh.

This is a harem story, and Akira will a have peerage, so feel free to suggest away! And even though Vali and Akira have met here, Vali isn't for definite going to be in the peerage, but regardless will still play an important role.

However, first it is time to, if you'd like too, vote on the Longinus Akira is going to have.

I've thought about Canis Lykaon that he had in the original story, then I thought of a few others that would work with him, some I think could bring some interesting ideas for Akira himself to wield, and some peoples suggestions as well, so here's the choices!

Canis Lykaon.

True Longinus.

Regulus Nemea.

Incinerate Anthem.

So yeah, those are the choices!

If True Longinus wins, then I know how the plots going to go when the sections of Cao Cao being the antagonist would go and who would fulfil that role instead and things like that.

If Regulus Nemea wins, I've got ideas, but I'd be open to suggestions about a replacement Sacred Gear for Sairaorg.

Well, if you're interested, please vote, and until next time, thanks for reading!
