Chapter 1

Flashback—

"Christian!"

Anastasia screamed in excitement to her husband who had just returned home from work, treading towards her in a fast pace, a Cheshire grin on his face.

"We're going to have a baby boy!!!" She breathed.

Today. That day had arrived when these two were finally getting to know the baby's sex, they had oh-so anxiously waited to know. Now, they couldn't wait to finally announce it to the Grey Family friends. How ridiculously joyful this moment was for them?!

Christian, upon reaching Ana, threw his suitcase and office manuscripts on the couch, lifted her body carefully and swang her around on his heels. He felt like dancing. Peppering her face and forehead with kisses, he pressed a sweet, tender kiss on her plump pink lips. His hand cradled her face, now illuminated with the pregnancy glow from head to toe, filled with feminine softness on all sides.

He gazed into her beautiful, big blue, glittering eyes. For a moment he thought his heart would stop from the intensity of her beauty, gazing back into his soul; his grey orbs.

"I can't wait to meet our little baby boy, Ana" he searched her face with a smile on his lit up face.

"Hmmm... Something tells me he's going to look just like his father...huh" she wiggled her eyebrows playfully and bit her lip.

He chuckled gleefully.

Turning solemn he spoke;

"I really don't know how my life would've turned out if it weren't for you Ana.You turned my world upside down, like a jolt of energy, you collided into my dull, mundane world and filled the prototypical monochrome with a burst of colours and life! Just the mere thought of ever losing you is—" he was silenced by her finger immediately.

"Hush!!! Babe. Don't ever say or think that!" She kept her low tone scolding, but she knew where their conversation was headed.

"Baby...you've made me the happiest man alive. I don't know how to thank you..."

Words got stuck in his throat.

"There's no need Christian. I can say the same to you because we've made this little blip together. I'm so happy and grateful to have all of this in my life; you are my best gift, and now this blip..." she herself was on the brink of tears...

Sighing into his chest for a few seconds, that were turning rather grim due the overwhelming thoughts of ever letting go each other or these priceless moments, they shrugged off those feelings and Christian said,

"I can't wait to tell this news to Mom and Dad over tomorrow's dinner, they're going to be over-the-moon" He grinned.

"For sure!" She squealed.

And he led her to the couch, making her comfortable and couldn't wait to spend the rest of the day together with the love of his life.

Their rest of the days passed just like that. In each other's laps and arms. Cuddling and melting into each other's embrace. Christian especially made extra sure that Ana was taken proper care of; never any appointment from Mrs. Greene was missed. His attention was highly alert towards her food, meals, her pills and prenatal supplements etc. even if some times she was extremely whiny and fussy over eating. Picking up things or carrying any kind of weight was prohibited for and her mood swings were the worst for which the situations often led them into heavy arguments, considering Ana's stubborn nature but Christian used to let it go. She was at an extremely sensitive part of her life like that; so he used to be patient with her. (Although patience was never really his forté)

Over that time...he really had less attention towards other things in his life; used to get less work done at GEH, he was only able to stay a few hours there, or anywhere for that matter, for his attention was always directed towards Ana. At office, he used to count hours until they would finish so he could return home to Ana. Call it curiosity or excitement of the awaiting bundle of joy, but these days they couldn't stop mingling with each other and spending more time together than ever. His was always thinking about her and the blip. They used to spend more time in the nursery they had decorated for the baby boy, they had already bought all the cute clothes and shoes for him.

Hi everyone... I hope so far the story has been engaging. The idea of this story had been lingering and wandering around my head for so long and practically nagging me to write it out, so...here it is. I can only tell you that this story is going to be emotional as well, it's going to bring a tragedy, but...nothing that is going to be unbearable or a hard limit. Everything's going to fall into place eventually...so bear with me :)
