Tai Lung was a murder, Kung Fu Master gone wrong, and locked in a specialized prison. Chor-gom prison was at the edge of the world, carved out of the mountain in an attempt to keep Tai Lung away from the innocent outside of it. Six years after it was created for him the garrison accepted a few working slaves to keep it in order and do the jobs the warriors did not want to do.

One of these slaves was a six year old girl called Guang. No one knew where the white tiger came from, just that she had been found and sold to them by a group going to the valley of Peace. They did not want the Masters there to know they had had a chance to take care of the child and gave the girl up.

Guang worked hard, and moved up the ladder of slavery over the next nine years until she was trusted with working in the kitchens. When she was there a few months the guard ordered her to take Tai Lung's weekly meal down to him. Obviously the kid was nervous going down the great chasm to the lonely rock, where the large snow leopard had all weapons trained on him. Instead of kicking the meal over she actually crossed to within arms reach and extended the spoon full of the stew to Tai Lung.

Her slender paws were shaking and the overlong sleeves were coming down over her bared arms. Talking half to herself, "Please eat, the Commander will be so angry if he catches me down here…." Flinching when Tai Lung opened his eyes, her relief was palpable when he ate the spoonful and she quickly scooped another almost spilling in her haste.

For the first time Tai Lung pulled out of himself enough to wonder who this girl was. Shrugging to himself, she didn't matter. But as he was waiting to free himself she might be useful in his escape. The patched brown rags showed she was a slave, and that would be useful if he could gain her trust.
