AN: Alright, let's do this quick. I don't own MHA, I just like it enough to write about it. Without further ado, this fanfic.

Akira was having a good day, keyword WAS. He woke up to see his brother had already left for work, no big deal, it happened all the time. He could care for himself anyway. He fixed breakfast and after scarfing it down went out for a walk. It was on this walk however, that he discovered that today wouldn't be all that fun. First, he'd had a bucket of water spilled on him by a careless worker, which soaked him to the bone. Then, while continuing his walk in the cold winter air, he noticed that his wings were freezing over due to the earlier soak. He scowled, 'this is exactly what I get for leaving them out in the open.' He sighed and tried to brush the ice off, but it did little good. He growled in irritation and turned back towards home, hoping to get back and get the ice off before it got to him, but no, there just so happened to be a villain attack blocking his only way home. (the others were under construction due to similar circumstances) Great. Just fantastic.

He was delayed by two and a half hours, during which the situation with his wings only got worse. After the mess was cleared up and people were allowed through he briskly walked home and entered the apartment he shared with his brother, slamming and locking the door behind him. They'd probably get a noise complaint but he didn't care at the moment. He quickly stripped and went to take a hot shower to help with the wing situation and his mood. After his shower he dressed his lower half and collapsed face first on the couch with a groan. He stayed like that for a while but looked up when he heard the lock opening. His brother opened the door shortly after and looked down at him airing his wings out. "rough day huh?" Akira glared at him, "the fuck do you think Kei? My goddamn wings iced over!" His brother nodded and sat in a chair nearby the couch after closing the door. Akira looked him over, "why are you in your hero getup? I thought we were trying to attract as little attention as possible, I think the No. 3 hero walking in here with a key to one of the apartments would attract quite a bit of attention. I don't want to have to deal with your fangirls trying to break in during the day." The red winged man being interrogated shrugged, "didn't have time to change, I just wanted to get home ASAP." Akira threw a pillow at his brother, "I think you're living up to your laid back reputation a bit too much Keigo." The man laughed and went into the kitchen, "I'm making chicken!" Akira rolls his eyes, "I swear, You're going to turn into one at this rate!" His brother just laughs it off and goes to prepare dinner.

During the meal, "So, the UA entrance exams are next week." Akira nods, "yep, I'm confident in my ability to pass." The pro hero across from him pointed his chicken laden fork at him, "I still don't understand why you refused my recommendation." Akira rolls his eyes, "I've told you, people don't need to know you've got a brother, if they find out, villains could use me against you." he swallows a bite of food and points his own fork at the Wing Hero, "besides, I want to prove I can get in on my own abilities." The older brother sighs, "fair point. Alright, but you better not fail. If you do you'll never hear the end of it!" He grins evilly, Akira challenges his look with a smirk, "don't worry, I'll make it."

(A week later)

Akira stood in front of the UA gates with the fires of determination blazing in his eyes. He walked into the auditorium with authority (though no one knew why he thought he had it) and took his seat next to a girl with vines for hair and propped his feet up. The girl gave him a disapproving look but said nothing about it. Then, the world's loudest man himself, Present Mic walked out onto the stage and began his explanation of the practical. Near the end when he asked if there were questions a kid with blue hair and glasses stood up and said something about them not explaining the fourth fake villain on the sheet, he then turned and called out a kid with bushy dark green hair for muttering to himself the entire time, and then the prick turned and called him out! "You as well! You propping your feet up like that is most inappropriate and disrespectful!" Akira narrowed his silver eyes at the boy, "yeah? Well so is calling people out like this. You're also causing a bigger disruption than the kid who was muttering. You call us out while acting in a similar way to what you're calling us out for, seems a bit fucking hypocritical to me." The boy was stunned and Present Mic had to reel everyone's attention back in by answering his question before sending them off with the school's motto and a, "have fun suffering!"

While prepping outside his assigned field Akira flexed his wings and smiled, it had been a while since he'd flown, so today was going to be fun. He vaguely remembered his last flight with Keigo. He smiled at the memory of spending time with his brother, they didn't get to do that often, what with his brother being Hawks and all. The gates opened and Present Mic screamed, "GO!", and that was all Akira needed. He flapped his wings as hard as he could and took off like a bullet. He started attacking bots left and right, throwing his feathers out like knives, hardening them so they were just as, if not more deadly, and moving on because he knew his victims (for this was more massacre than fight) were already dead. His feathers grew back within minutes as opposed to his brother's which needed a full day, but as a result his stamina suffered greatly, which is why he needed to gather a large quantity of points as quickly as possible so he could rest at the end. He currently had 35 points from his little head start giving him an advantage, but now it was getting more difficult to find bots as the other students had quickly followed behind him. He wouldn't give up though, he needed to pass this exam.

(observation room)

The mouse-dog-bear that was Nezu, principal of UA, cackled in his seat, "We've got quite the crop this year don't we?" there were several noises of agreement. "we've got quite a few promising individuals I do declare", drawled out Snipe. Nezu nods, "yes, and from what I've seen everyone seems to have their eyes on a different student this year. This is going to be so interesting!" He lets out another mad cackle. Meanwhile, a bedraggled man in the back stares at the screens, wondering how many people he'll have to expel this year.

(Battle grounds)

Akira was doing well, or at least he thought so. He'd managed to bump his score up to 55 points and had an ok amount of energy left, but it was declining quickly. He decided 55 was a good number and landed on a roof to rest. His wings were aching, from all the flying he'd done as well as him constantly yanking feathers out of them. He was really out of practice. Then the ground started shaking. He looked up and tried to locate the cause. It wasn't too difficult considering the giant ass robot was only a few buildings away. He got to his feet and glanced at the ground around it's base, there were people still down there!

He jumped off the building and spread his wings, he needed to act. He dove and scooped up a few people, bringing them to a safe distance. He turned and took off again, he was moving to slow! He wouldn't make it in time! If he didn't have time, he'd just need to buy some. He pulled off one of the larger feathers and hardened it up, taking a swing at the giant robot's treads. He sliced through with little effort, buying him the time needed to go and move the rest of the students. The robot was still trying to move though, oh well, he'd just have to distract it then. He flew up towards it's face and threw a few hardened feathers into one of it's eyes. That certainly got it's attention, it raised it's arm to try and grab him, but it was too slow. This went on for a few minutes.

Akira was straining to stay in the air, how much longer would he have to do this? Not much longer as the buzzer sounded and the robot stopped moving as the test ended. He touched down and folded his tired wings up, he'd need to be more careful with them in the future. An old lady dressed like a doctor approached him and asked if he was injured, he answered in the negative, "just tired", he fanned out his black wings, "put a bit too much strain on these, but they're just sore." The elderly woman nodded and went to tend to others as Akira went to leave.

(one week later, apartment)

Akira was staring down at the letter in front of him, his brother walked up behind him, "you gonna open it or what?" Akira shot him a glare but opened it to find a holo-disk. He activated it to be greeted by a projection of All Might, "Booyah! I am here! As a projection!" Akira and Keigo simultaneously muttered, "no shit Sherlock." They continued watching as All Might explained the exam in full as well as showing his true score. He had earned 55 villain points, but also 55 rescue points, totaling him at 110. Granting him first place by a margin. All Might signed off with, "come, young Takami! This is your hero academia!" Akira and Keigo grinned at each other, they'd be going out to eat fancy tonight. (Hawks will still get chicken, but it'll be fancy chicken)

Akira Takami:

Age: 14

Quirk: Stymphalian

Grants the user wings with detachable feathers that can be controlled. Regeneration is faster then Fierce Wings, but stamina suffers as a result. User can also harden the feathers into a metallic state, losing control but making them all the deadlier.

AN: so yeah, I wrote this on a whim because I'd been sitting on the idea for a while and just couldn't get it out of my head, so here it is. I hope you enjoyed it, I'll see you around.
