11:15 AM

Arriving at school to drop off his robot baby, Basil Hagen stared at the bizarre thing which he held. What was wrong with a doll or a bag of flour? This made no sense? Why an automaton? He could not fathom a reason as to why something like this would be conceived. Had he known he would have been stuck with a partner taking care of this machine, he would have skipped school.

Who had his partner been? Some girl that he did not bother to remember the name of. She was pretty though, eyes were violet in a certain light, too bad she wasn't a redhead, reddish-blonde though so that was close to it in his eyes.

Upon dropping off the automation infant, Basil saw a jeep roll up with some guy he had never seen before skateboarding after it… At least, he thought he had never seen the guy before. Could it have been a picture? Basil did not quite know, whoever he was… He was some guy that Basil did not know. That was the extent of Basil's knowledge.

Once the guy crashed into a hotdog cart, Basil made his way into school. He heard there was not supposed to be any school for the rest of the day, but he wanted authentic confirmation from a staff member before he headed home.

The confirmation did come, not from a staff member, but rather the footsteps of a staff member. Or rather, footstep of a staff member. Barrage's loud, metallic footstep all but announced that school was back on.

Sighing, Basil made his way to class, taking his cell phone out of his picket to text his girlfriend Venus Kellerman, a student at Archbishop Dunan's.

Texting Venus, Basil said: "Barrage is back and that means school is back on for me."

After a minute, Venus texted back: "Where was he?"

Basil replied: "Who knows? I doubt he was on a beach somewhere. I just can't see him doing that sort of thing. I will see you at lunch."

"See you."

Putting his phone back in his pocket, the question of just where this cyborg ex-military man of a principle had gone entered Basil's head. Repairs for his prosthetics? Where exactly did people with prosthetics like his go for that sort of thing? Who even made Barrage's prosthetics? If they were common such a thing never would have been a question. On that matter where did his robotic cleaners come from? A cyborg principle with robotic henchmen at his beckon call? How often did something like that happen? Even when it came to a school that had a tazelwurm for a school mascot, it just did not seem like something that happened.
