Character Information
Hadley Lockwood is the eldest child of Richard Lockwood, former mayor of Mystic Falls after an affair before he married Carol however her mother died when she was quite young so she had grown up in Mystic Falls with a father that didn't really want her and a step-mother who hated her as she was a reminder everyday that her husband cheated, the only positive relationships she had within her family was her half-brother Tyler and her Uncle Mason.
When Hadley was in the ninth grade she finally left Mystic Falls to attend a private art school in Miami just to get away from the father that didn't want her and lived with her Uncle, when she was 16 she triggered her curse by accidently killing her boyfriend in a car accident and hid it from her Uncle for three years until he triggered his own curse and they discovered that it was a family blood curse so when they got word that Richard Lockwood had died Mason went back to Mystic Falls to bury his brother and to warn Tyler about the curse while Hadley stayed in Miami since she felt no remorse for the man she shared blood with.
But then she heard about Mason's death from her brother and was devastated since the man was more like a father to her than his brother had been so after months of mourning she decided to head back to the town she despised to avenge her Uncle.
Hadley's POV
I groaned looking up at the mansion in front of me, it hadn't changed at all since I left this god forsaken town when I was fifteen to live with my Uncle and study at the most prestigious art school in Miami but someone in the town murdered my Uncle and after months of mourning the man I considered a father figure I was determined to find out who which is why I'd returned to the town I was called home but never really felt at home...Mystic Falls.
I walked up the front steps dragging my suitcases behind me and reached for the door intending to let myself right in with not a care in the world at my step-mothers clear hatred for me as I reminded her of her husbands unfaithfulness but it swung open before I'd even touched the knob and I was staring into the shocked and confused face of my younger half-brother Tyler Lockwood.
"Hadley?"
"Hey Ty" I smiled and he quickly smiled back before wrapping me in a bear hug making me laugh as he picked me up off my feet, I knew he'd always triggered the blood curse that ran though our veins even after Mason had warned him but just like Mason that Katherine vampire whore had forced him to do so using the same tricks by compelling someone to anger them and force them to defend themselves. "I didn't think you were ever coming back!"
"To be honest neither did" I replied as he put me down and grabbed my bags for me as we both walked into the house and nothing on the inside had changed much either except that it looked like it was being prepared for some kind of party...my guess was a founders party.
"So how are you, I haven't seen you in nearly five years"
"Not much, been studying...living the sun-tanned life down in Miami" I shrugged with a smile as we walked upstairs to my old room where again nothing had changed.
"We kept it just how you left it" he pointed out and I scoffed.
"More like you kept it just how I left it, I'm sure your mother would have been more than happy to strip any trace of me from this house especially now that our fathers dead"
"Yeah maybe" he laughed and I laughed back nudging his shoulder hauling one of the suitcases onto my bed while he did the same with the other clearly pretending to struggle with it. "What do you have in here bricks?"
"Shut up" I pushed him away and unzipped the suitcase he'd lifted which had all my art stuff inside. "So what's with all the decorations downstairs, another one of your mothers most fanciest founders day parties"
"You guessed it" he smiled making me smile since although I hated this damn place he was the one good thing about it since after all he was my little brother...granted it was half brother but it never felt like that between me and Tyler despite our parents hating me we'd always been close and kept in touch over the years as much as we could.
"So how are you?" I asked changing the subject as I pulled out a photo frame of Mason and I and put it on the bedside table seeing him staring at it before he turned back to me. "How's Caroline?" I asked wiggling my eyes subjectively having known all about him falling for the overzealous blonde barbie.
"Things are good and I'm good" he nodded with a smile.
"Tyler" we both spun seeing Carol Lockwood standing in the doorway. "Hadley, you're here" she pointed out and I fought rolling my eyes at her.
"Yeah I decided it was time to come home and see everyone" I replied as she frowned at me.
"Well your welcome to stay" she suddenly replied covering up the unpleasantness with a smile before walking away.
"Seems like she still can't stand me so...everything's good" I replied and he laughed nudging my shoulder like I had earlier and I laughed pushing him back before we both fell back onto my bed and ended up just talking catching each other up on everything we hadn't told the other over the last five years before he decided to ruin it stating he had football practice and wasn't going to the founders party but still suggested I go to settle myself back into Mystic Falls society so that's how I found myself walking around the grounds and lake of the Lockwood manor greeting people as I went especially those who recognized me.
I made sure not to embarrass the Lockwood name by actually dressing up in a salmon orange dress that fell just above my knees, a denim jacket over the top and some brown boots seeing as I despised heels and saved them for the more fancier and extravagant parties.
I walked around talking and mingling with the guests sneaking a few flutes of champagne when someone wasn't looking but seeing as I was only one year away from being 21 I could really care less and it wasn't like I hadn't been drinking way before now anyway, I stopped when my sensitive hearing picked up a couple of familiar voices and turned in the direction they were coming from and saw Caroline, Bonnie and Elena all sitting on a bench together making me smile since they all looked like they were still good friends despite the obvious changes in their lives being that Bonnie was a witch, Caroline was a baby vampire which I wasn't too happy about at first since Tyler was dating her but she seemed okay...for now and Elena the most troubled out of them all after being sacrificed and brought back to life which Tyler had told me about and the big bad hybrid Klaus.
"So your not like switching Salvatore's, are you?" I heard Caroline ask and watched her turn to Elena...yes I knew all about Elena and the Salvatore vampire brothers and didn't really agree with her choice since it's brought them all nothing but trouble seeing as she was the main focus of all the supernatural drama in this town and since the Salvatore brothers were the highest on my list on who killed Mason. "...what is the deal with you and Damon?"
"There is no deal" Elena argued but even I could hear the denial in her voice. "He's been just as focused on finding Stefan as I have"
"That doesn't make him any less Damon" using a name as a noun...sounds like Damon was the less liked Salvatore vampire.
"Hey guys" Bonnie suddenly interrupted her bickering friends and I saw the necklace suddenly float up from the book in her lap making me frown and look around glad no one else was paying attention, I frowned turning away from the friends and headed inside to get away from the bustling guests intending to find some quiet when I heard another voice I recognized...little Gilbert but it sounded like he was talking to himself.
"Little Jeremy Gilbert, last time I saw you were like like this tall" I spoke up seeming to startle him from whatever he was doing and held my hand out just above my waist.
"Excuse me?" he asked looking at me in confusion.
"You don't recognize me?" I asked smirking. "I know I look a little different but the amount of times I patched you up from your fights with my brother I thought that would at least help you remember me"
"Hadley?" he asked eyes suddenly widening making me laugh.
"You got it baby Gilbert"
"I didn't know you were back"
"No one does really, except Tyler" I talked with little Gilbert for a little while before I left him and headed upstairs having enough of Mystic Falls society for now and decided to unpack all my stuff touching up my room a little make it fit my more...up to date style making sure to unpack all my art stuff and unfolded my easel placing it in the corner of the room along with all my paintbrushes and palates on the dresser beside it before I pushed the empty suitcases into the closet before laying back on my bed. "Don't worry Mason, I'm gonna find your killer" I muttered to myself about to grab some clothes to shower and head to bed when I heard a commotion downstairs.
I ran down just in time to see Caroline rip someone off...her father and I took in the guy that had been attacking Mr Forbes...dark raven black hair...blue eyes...Damon, the number one suspect on my list since I remembered Mason telling me about him right before I lost contact with him and the next thing I heard was Tyler telling me Mason was dead.
"Let me teach this ass-wheel a life lesson" Damon said veins bubbling beneath his eyes as he moved back towards Caroline's dad.
"Just get out of here" Caroline spat at him while feeding her father her blood which was just sick.
"Or what?" Damon snapped and Caroline turning hitting him across the face but he grabbed her and threw her onto the desk jumping up and grabbed her throat while I stood still unable to do something since it wasn't a full moon. "I'm stronger than you little girl"
"Well I'm angrier" Caroline growled out before snapping Damon's wrist and headbutted him to get him off her and pushed him off before grabbing her dad and disappeared with him.
"Ugh bummer" Damon sighed. "I love a good girl fight" I frowned turning seeing Elena behind me and her eyes widened when she saw me but I didn't say anything as I left seeing as there was no point in my staying and witnessing whatever lovers quarrel was about to go on and went back upstairs letting myself into Tyler's room collapsing on his bed ignoring his protest.
"Your girlfriends...eccentric" I muttered and saw him roll his eyes. "But kind of badass, not at all the girl I remember that was so insecure of herself and not to mention a complete control freak"
"Hey that's my girlfriend" he shot at me making me laugh.
"Not hard feelings little bro"
"So how about you, you've never mentioned any guys over the years?" he suddenly asked making me frown as I sat up. "Hadley?" he pressed when I was silent. "Sorry if I overstepped or said something-"
"No it's not that, it's just I uh...it's complicated I guess"
"What do you mean?"
"You know that I triggered my curse"
"Yeah Mason told me, you triggered it before he did like three years ago" I nodded my head.
"Yeah, I was out with this boy I'd been seeing for a little while, his name was Blake...we went to a party, got a little drunk but I thought I wasn't as bad as him so I drove us home only I didn't see the rough roads and I crashed, he died on the impact and I triggered the curse"
"Jeez, I'm so sorry" he replied making me smile.
"Yeah well I can't change it and it's not you or Mason having a crazy vampire bitch-whore compel someone to attack me and trigger my curse that way, you clearly got the raw end of the deal there" I shot at him to change the subject but the mood was sour already and I couldn't stop the next words out of my mouth. "Mason and I didn't want this for you"
"I know" he replied and I sighed sitting up turning to him.
"Do you know who killed him?" I asked him and saw a look flash in his eyes that answered my question for me. "Tell me?"
"Hadley-"
"Tyler, tell me who killed Mason" I demanded glaring at him.
"Trying to get revenge is not going to bring him back-"
"I don't care, now tell me who did it Tyler?"
"I can't, you'll do something stupid and get yourself killed just like he did" I stood up angrily.
"It was the Salvatore's wasn't it?" I asked him and again the look in his eyes answered me more than his words ever could. "They're dead" I growled out feeling my eyes change before I stormed out of the room.
"Hadley don't!" I heard Tyler yell but I slammed my door shut and locked it, I wasn't stupid enough to go after a vampire now...but the next full moon Damon better watch his damn back.
Tyler and I had forgiven each other for the fight by the next morning since that's just how we rolled and we spent the next few days together further catching up on each other's lives while I had a feeling he was always keeping an eye on me but again I'll say I'm not stupid that was until he told me he was going to the high school for senior prank night and I asked to tag along seeing as my prestigious art school never allowed it so I was eager to join the teenagers on wreaking havoc.
Caroline, Bonnie, Elena, Tyler and I were all in a classroom setting up hundreds of mousetraps on the floor all triggered ready for morning when they all suddenly went off and the light flicked on with none other than Matt Donovan standing by the door having ruined all our hard work.
"Oh come on, seriously!" Caroline exclaimed before we all simultaneously glared at Matt. "Do you know how long it took to set all this up?"
"Forgot senior prank night huh?" Tyler asked him.
"Clearly" Matt replied before his eyes fell on me and they widened. "Hadley"
"Hey blue eyes" I smiled before rushing over to hug him, none of them had expected me tonight seeing as Caroline had been too distracted the other night at the founders party and I hadn't seen Elena again to officially say I was back but they all hugged me and welcomed me back to Mystic Falls before we got started on the prank...over an hour ago only to have it ruined in a second by this numskull.
"How could you forget?" Caroline demanded as soon as I let him go and moved back over to Tyler. "We've only been waiting for this since like freshman year" I laughed shaking my head at her over enthusiasm.
"Yeah Matt, if I'm doing this you're doing this" Elena added pointing at herself with the flashlight.
"I'm kind of surprised any of you are doing this, especially you Hadley since your like 21"
"I'm only 20 Mattykins and I never got to do this at my art school, it wasn't allowed so I'm totally stealing your prank night" I laughed seeing him roll his eyes.
"Caroline's making us" Bonnie argued.
"We're about to be seniors...well except Hadley, these are the memories that will stay with us forever and if we don't-"
"Create these memories now, then what's the point" Elena finished having of probably heard her do that speech a thousand times already.
"Go ahead, make fun I don't care"
"Your all lame" I spoke up grabbing the food wrap rolls out of the bag Tyler and I prepared before coming tonight and tossed a couple to my brother. "We've got about 10 more classrooms to prank" I smirked nudging his arm.
"See even the non-senior is in on this" Caroline exclaimed as Tyler and I left the room finding a couple of other students outside and we gave them instructions on food wrapping all the toilet bowls along with getting more people into the gym where a few others were already pranking laying out thousands of cups on the floor.
"Attention seniors, you have officially been busted, prank night is over!" someone suddenly called and I was afraid we'd been busted that was until I saw the dude with Elena struggling in his grasp meaning he was clearly not a teacher. "Head on home" everyone groaned and started to leave. "You two" he suddenly quickly said stopping a couple of teens. "I remember you"
"I'm sorry who are you?" the girl...Dana asked him.
"Oh don't worry I wasn't in my right head last we met, lift your foot up Dana" he replied and my eyes widened seeing the way his eyes dilated and the way Dana immediately lifted her foot...he was a vampire...yet there was the subtle scent that reeked of werewolf. "If she drops her foot Chad I want you to beat her to death, understood?" Chad nodded his head.
"Don't Klaus" Elena spat and my eyes widened further since this was Klaus...the original vampire Klaus turned hybrid the last time he was in Mystic Falls...Tyler said he was gone with the youngest Salvatore. "You don't have to hurt anybody"
"Oh love of course I do" he replied and I inched out of the room slowly afraid to be seen ready to go in search of Tyler and the others to warn them but when I found them I quickly hid around the corner seeing some blonde vampire attacking Caroline before she grabbed Tyler and started dragging him towards the gym.
"Hey bitch" I called out stepping into view. "Get your hands off my brother!" I charged at her sending a punch her way but she dodged disappearing before appearing behind me and I felt my arm get pulled behind my back followed by the break of the bone making me scream out before she grabbed Tyler who'd stepped forward to help me and instead dragged the two of us back into the gym.
"I'd like you all to meet my sister" Klaus called out once we entered. "Rebekah, a word of warning she can be quite mean"
"Don't be an ass" this girl...Rebekah who was clearly another original vampire spat at him and I scoffed earning another twist from this bitch breaking my arm in a different place.
"Ow, enough with breaking my arm bitch" I growled out glaring behind me before I turned and seeing Klaus looking at me with...curiosity.
"Leave them alone" Elena spat making me roll my eyes since we was about as threatening as a fluffy kitten.
"You brought me two werewolves" Klaus smirked over at his sister. "Give me the boy" he added and his sister pushed Tyler towards him.
"No!" I roared trying to fight against Rebekah's grip but she was bloody strong.
"I'm going to make this very simple" Klaus called out pulling Tyler away. "Every time I attempt to turn a werewolf into a vampire hybrid they die during the transition, it's quite horrible actually" he bit into his wrist and forced it to Tyler's lips.
"No!" I yelled out.
"I need you to find a way to save my hybrids Bonnie" Klaus said undeterred by my yell. "And for Tyler's sake...you better hurry" he grabbed Tyler's neck.
"No!" I screamed at the top of my lungs but it was too late and I heard the sickening snap of his neck. "Tyler!" I threw my elbow back hitting Rebekah in the face finally wrenching myself out of her grip as I ran to Tyler falling to my knees. "Ty...Tyler" I cried feeling a few tears rolling down my face as I lifted his head into my lap before looking up at Klaus seeing his triumphant smirk. "You son of a bitch!" I got up charging towards him and managed to get one hit in...a slap across the face before the smirk was gone and he grabbed me in a headlock. "Go ahead do it!" I growled out, I didn't fear death and with Tyler...I had no one left that I loved.
"Such bravery...how stupid" Klaus said right into my ear. "I think I'll hold onto you, for the time being should your friends need further...motivation"
"I'd rather die" I spat fighting against his grip.
"Allow me" Rebekah growled out moving towards me.
"No, I want this one alive for the time being" Klaus argued and I jumped feeling his hand stroking the top of my head like I was some kind of pet.
"He's dead" Matt cried out looking at my brothers lifeless body.
"He's not dead, Klaus' blood will turn him into a vampire-" Elena rushed out.
"And if Bonnie's successful he'll live through his transition, go on then go fetch your grimoires and enchantments and whatnots" Klaus replied suddenly pulling Elena towards him as well keeping both of us trapped in his grasp. "I'll hold onto these ladies for safekeeping" I glared at Klaus before both Elena and I turned to Bonnie who shook her head but we nodded telling her to go, she had to save my brother...no matter what it meant for us and Bonnie understood and her and Matt raced out of the room.
"So this is the latest doppelganger?" Rebekah spoke up as soon as they were gone and rounded on us looking at Elena still with blood near her nose making me smile a little to know I was the cause. "The original one was much prettier" I scoffed since they were supposed to all look the same, how was their logic in that and she glared at me.
"Enough Rebekah" Klaus groaned out. "Take the wolf-boy elsewhere, would you?" I turned to him with a pleading look but he didn't even look at me as Rebekah grabbed Tyler's arm and dragged him out of the room.
"Wait...please let me be with him" I begged not caring how weak it made me sound.
"It your boyfriend" Klaus laughed making me severely want to slap him again.
"He's my brother you prick" I growled out and he turned to look at me.
"Well lets hope you friend succeeds then" he smirked and that was it, I raised the hand he wasn't holding straight for his face but he let go of Elena momentarily of grab my hand and inch from his face. "I allowed one hit to slide love, I will not hesitate to snap your neck should you do it again"
"I don't care, you killed my baby brother and I'd gladly lay down my life for him" he continued to glare for a second before it turned it a smirk making my glare intensify since he had something seriously wrong with him.
"What's your name love?"
"None of your god damn business" I spat at him.
"Hadley don't" Elena warned me unwillingly giving this asshole my name and I turned to glare at her.
"Hadley..." he smirked as if savoring the sound of my name on his tongue making me cringe. "It quite suits you love"
"Go to hell" I spat at him yanking my arm free of him and he surprisingly let go of both me and Elena before walking to the bleachers and sat down, Elena took that opportunity to walk to Dana and Chad in order to comfort them but I just began pacing anxious and worried about Tyler wondering what in the hell I was going to tell Carol.
"Klaus" someone spoke and I spun around seeing a young teen but my nose told me vampire.
"Come to save your damsel, mate?" Klaus spat in his direction.
"I came to ask your forgiveness and pledge my loyalty" this guy said making me frown turning to where Elena was seeing her looking at this guy slowly moving towards him and my eyes hardened realizing this was the infamous Stefan Salvatore I heard so much about.
"Well you broke that pledge once already" Klaus argued.
"Elena means nothing to me anymore" Stefan spat and I mouthed an ouch since so much for love, Elena had been pining after this guy all summer trying to save him and this is how he repays her...this is why you can't trust vampires. "And whatever you ask of me, I will do"
"Sell out" I scoffed earning myself a look from Klaus before he turned back to Stefan.
"Fair enough, let's drink on it" Klaus replied standing up and started walking towards us again. "Kill them" he said pointing at Chad and Dana behind us who immediately stood in fear. "What are you waiting for, kill them?" I growled turning to glare at Stefan.
"No Stefan don't" Elena begged him. "He's not going to hurt me, he already said-" she screamed as Klaus backhanded her and she fell to the ground before Stefan sped towards Klaus lunging for his throat but Klaus was able to stop him grabbing his throat.
"She means nothing to you?" he asked Stefan as I moved to Elena helping her sit up as she clutched her cheek. "Your lies just keep pilling up"
"Let her go, I'll do whatever you want you have my word" Stefan spat around his restricted windpipe.
"Your word doesn't matter much, I lived by your word all summer during which time I never had to resort to this...stop fighting" Klaus argued.
"Don't do this, don't do this" Stefan begged and I understood Klaus was trying to compel him...could originals compel other supernaturals.
"I didn't want to" Klaus replied. "All I wanted was your allegiance, now I'm gonna have to take it"
"Don't, don't" Stefan begged again.
"You will do exactly as I say when I say it, you will not run, you will not hide, you will simply...just obey" Klaus said and just like that the fight in Stefan's body vanished making my eyes widen since he could...he could compel other supernaturals.
"No...Stefan" Elena breathed out.
"Now kill them...Rippah" Klaus commanded his accent thick as he pointed at Dana and Chad while we watched Stefan's face take on the blood red eyes, the veins beneath his eyes before he sped towards Dana and bit down into her neck ignoring her screams as I looked away from the sight able to do nothing. "It's always nice to see a vampire in his true element, the species has become such a broody lot" I turned with a glare towards Klaus.
"No, you did this to him" Elena spat as Stefan turned to her from draining both bodies.
"I invited him to the party love, he's the one dancing on the table" Klaus replied with a smirk as we both stood up with Elena staring at Stefan in shock while I just rolled my eyes since what did she expect...vampires were all murderers.
"Where is it?!" Rebekah suddenly screamed coming back into the gym. "Where's my necklace?!" oh for the love of god this bitch was so dramatic.
"What are you talking about?" Klaus demanded.
"She has my necklace, look" she shoved a phone towards his face and Klaus looked at the photo on the screen.
"Well, well, well more lies"
"Where is it?" Rebekah asked looking at Elena.
"I don't have it anymore" Elena replied.
"Your lying!" Rebekah yelled like a petulant child and sped towards her grabbing her neck and bit down, I moved grabbing Rebekah and pulled her off glaring at her with yellow eyes before Klaus moved in front of me further pulling Rebekah away.
"Knock it off!" he screamed at her.
"Make her tell me where it is Nik!" Rebekah yelled as I continued to glare taking a protective stance in front of Elena warning them off with my yellow wolf eyes especially Stefan who'd attempted to come over.
"Where's the necklace sweetheart, be honest?" Klaus asked turning to us and kneeling down to Elena's level seeing as she was on the ground holding her neck but I still stood between them.
"I'm telling the truth, Katherine stole it" Elena replied through raspy voice.
"Katerina" Klaus smirked. "Of course" I frowned since he knew Katherine...what a surprise...not. "Well that's unfortunate, if we had the necklace it'd make things easier for your witch but since were going with the hard way lets put a clock on it shall we?" I frowned watching as he went over to the controls that controlled the scoreboard and pressed a button starting a 20 minute timer. "Twenty minutes, if Bonnie hasn't found a solution by then I want you to feed again, only this time I want you to feed on Elena...you know you want to" he added the last bit with a smirk towards us...on me making me shiver at his gaze feeling like there was hidden meaning behind it.
"Klaus don't do this to him" Elena protested but Klaus was ignoring her and soon found him in front of me grabbing my arm, the one that hadn't been broken by his sister in several places which I was still healing.
"No one leaves, if she tries to leave fracture her spine" Klaus said pointing at Elena as he started dragging me out of the room with his sister behind us.
"Let go of me!" I spat once out in the hallway and was hitting at his hand holding my upper arm. "Let me go!"
"Rebekah go and check on the wolf" Klaus told her and she huffed off leaving me desperately wanting to follow her to check on Tyler.
"Just let me go, I want to see my brother" I spun back around to Klaus letting myself appear vulnerable. "You got want you wanted, let me see my brother...I have to...I have to say goodbye" I cried since I never got to say goodbye to Mason and it killed me for months.
"Relax little wolf, you'll see your brother soon enough"
"Why are you doing this?" I asked him seeing as he let go of my arm but I didn't try to run knowing it was pointless to even try. "Why did it have to be Tyler?"
"Because he is the best motivation for your witchy friend"
"But he's my brother, the only family I had left and now...I'm alone, I'm nothing...I have nothing" I sank against the lockers pulling my knees in close to my chest resting my chin on top of my arms as I let the tears fall with silent sobs hiding my face hating people see me cry...I never broke down like this in front of people it was a sign of weakness and I never dared show weakness to those who wished to tear me down...I'd learnt to compartmentalize my emotions when I was just a kid suffering at the hands of the man that didn't want me, the woman that couldn't stand the sight of me and the younger brother I had to be strong for but now...it was all gone, my light was gone.
"Come with me" I suddenly heard and felt myself being pulled up and dragged into a classroom where I saw Tyler, awake but writhing in pain.
"Tyler! I exclaimed shaking out the the hands that held me and ran to my brother. "It's okay, it's okay I'm here" I told him smoothing out his hair like I used to do when he was younger, I was always the one that tended to his nightmares, took care of him when he was sick, we were only three years apart but I had been forced to grow up quickly which meant I'd always felt responsible for him and couldn't help but blame myself for this.
"The verdicts in, the original witch says the doppelganger should be dead" I look up at Klaus seeing him standing across the bench from us.
"Doesn't that mean we can kill her?" Rebekah asked sounding excited with the idea.
"Bitch" I muttered under my breath soothing Tyler who was shaking and sweating like crazy.
"No I'm fairly certain it means the opposite" Klaus argued making me look up with confusion.
"What?" Rebekah asked suddenly pulling Caroline away and reached for me but I growled threatening her with golden yellow eyes, nothing was taking me away from comforting my baby brother.
"Call it a hunch" Klaus stated before he leaned towards Tyler holding a vial of blood. "Elena's blood, drink it" he told Tyler and I looked back and forth between the blood and Klaus.
"No, no, no Tyler don't" Caroline protested.
"If he doesn't feed he'll die anyway, consider it an experiment" I frowned contemplating Klaus' words.
"Do it Tyler, I can't lose you and if this is a chance you'll live then take it" I told him as he shook beneath my hands rubbing smooth circles on his back as he looked up at me. "It's okay Ty" I told him smiling softly in encouragement. "You'll always be my brother" he nodded reaching out taking the vial from Klaus and tipped it to his lips.
"There we go" Klaus said smiling towards me but my focus was on Tyler as the blood disappeared out of the vial. "Good boy" he continued to praise but Tyler suddenly lurched forward falling to the ground.
"Ty!" oh god what have I done, I finished him off...I killed my brother. "Tyler!" Klaus had a hold of my arm again stopping me from reaching Tyler's side as he writhed and screamed out in pain. "Tyler hey...hey listen to me okay, fight through the pain" I called to him as he turned onto his knees grabbing his head screaming out before he finally looked up...golden yellow eyes but the veins bubbled beneath them.
"Well that's a good sign" Klaus smirked letting go of me and I dropped to my knees.
"Shh, shh it's okay, you're okay" I laughed through a cry. "You're okay Ty...it worked" I smiled watching his face go back to normal collapsing into my arms and I held him in map lap suddenly looking up seeing Klaus and his sister were gone and Caroline was at my side. "We need to get him home" I told her.
"Why'd you let him drink it?" she asked me and I frowned.
"Caroline he was going to die with or without the blood, at least now he has a chance and I couldn't...I couldn't let him die, I already lost my Uncle, I couldn't lose my brother too"
"Likewise Hads" I looked down seeing Tyler's eyes open looking up at us.
"Hey..." I smiled brushing the hair out of his eyes. "How are you feeling?" I asked as we helped him stand.
"I feel great" he smiled seemingly completely back to normal well except for the fact he was now a hybrid and although everything inside my brain told me to hate him now I couldn't he was still my brother. "Ow" he grabbed his arm where I suddenly punched him.
"That was for scaring the crap out of me, you cannot leave me with your mother" I spat at him before pulling him into a hug. "I love you Ty but you ever do this to me again and I swear I will maim you, understand?" he nodded squeezing me back just as tightly before he turned to Caroline and I took that as my cue. "I'll leave you guys be, I'll see you at home Ty" he nodded smiling at me quickly before I left walking out into the carpark towards my car...my 1968 mustang...a gift from Mason who restored it himself for my 16th birthday and drove home feeling the exhaustion and stress plague my body as soon as I hit my mattress.
