Im gonna take a gander and say Just a briefing of my wandering thoughts as I depict a starting point to go by. I'll think of a better beginning in time if something comes to mind. Can't think up a good title at the moment
This is the moment that splits season 2 from season 3 or so I like to believe with how season 3 came about.
I edited end of Future Diary Redial in. I did it quickly with there not being much to go by. I have to question the many Murmurs and if memory is right, it's cycle 1 Murmur always trying to help cycle 1 Yuno since there's no cycle 4
"Yuno, I have a favor to ask of you." says cycle 1 Murmur from her cage.
Cycle 3 Yuno walked up to the cage out of curiosity of what the childlike demon wanted of her and knelt down so they were face to face.
"What is it?" wonders cycle 3 Yuno staring at the weeping demon.
"I want you to carry out my Yuno's...my mistress's memories." says cycle 1 Murmur sadly.
"Your Yuno?" wonders cycle 3 Yuno.
"Yeah, she was a scary girl but she protected the boy she loved deerly. She had a duranged way of doing it but it was all for him. He started off freaked out by her yet slowly got used to her hellish mind, wanting to be by her side until the world disappeared. That hellish cell phone death game separated her from him even when she thought she would succeed." says cycle 1 Murmur.
"I see." says cycle 3 Yuno.
"I need you to take these memories before they disappear for good. I wouldn't know what to do if they were to become lost." says cycle 1 Murmur pressing his hands together beggingly.
Cycle 1 Mumur formed the reddened diamond that had all of cycle 1 Yuno's memories.
"To you, they are unnecessary. If anything, they would bring great pain." says cycle 1 Murmur.
"Murmur...it's ok. I want this too." says cycle 1 Yuno tearing up.
"Thank you." says cycle 1 Murmur starting to bawl.
Cycle 3 Yuno smiled sadly as tears flowed down her cheeks.
"This is the will of your other self. Accept it for what it will bring you." says cycle 1 Murmur handing cycle 3 Yuno the diamond.
"I will." says cycle 3 Yuno taking the diamond from cycle 1 Murmur.
Suddenly, all the memories of the other her and a boy came flooding into her mind as she stepped back.
Cycle 2 void...
Yukiteru was mindlessly staring at his cellphone, glued to the last sentence that appeared on the screen among others that he didnt care much for but was satisfied just the same. '7/28 4:57 [Sakurami Middle School] Yuno died.'
"It's probably been 10,000 years since I was swept into the position of godly duties." thinks Yuki gloomily with his arm pressed against his mouth while it leaned on his knee.
"Hey Yukiteru, you're supposed to be a god so, act like one already. I'm getting bored reading this manga over and over again for the last what? 10,000 years it is now? You have to wonder how much time flies for gods like you ought to be. I need something exciting to do. Entertain me every now and then even if you have to sulk until your duties have to be passed on." says cycle 2 Murmur unamused.
"Without Yuno, there's no point in creating any kind of earth." says Yuki.
"Moping won't do you any good. The second and third cycles are separated now." says cycle 2 Murmur getting infront of Yuki to lean on him.
"Even so..." says Yuki looking down gloomily.
"Can't you recreate a Yuno to take her place? Sure, you can't have the real thing but you will get someone with thoughts like hers." says cycle 2 Murmur going from looking up to staring at the cellphone.
"Wouldn't matter what girl I pretend is Yuno. Once Yuno left my side and I was forced to be here without so much as a goodbye, there'd be no other Yuno to spend the rest of my days with." says Yuki.
"Create a random girl with pink hair and pink eyes then BAM renewed Yuno." says Murmur.
"You will know what I mean once you find someone who you can never part ways with." says Yuki.
"You're the only one here glum gus. Besides, I can love you. I am forever by your side after all." says Murmur pouting.
"Your situation is different than loving a earthling you can't stay with no matter how hard you try to plan it out." says Yuki.
"You're no fun Yukiteru." says Murmur leaving Yuki's side to lay down while reading his worn and torn manga.
Yukiteru looked at Murmur and mentally agreed to do the same while thinking about cycle 3 Yuno and if having no variation of him by her side was the best way to go.
"Is she happy? I doubt my worries will reach her. It's all ancient history. All I have left of the events is this lost diary. What remains of my diary is now lost and forgotten to time as I try to recall it all." thinks Yuki looking up at the darkness above them.
The moment Yuki closed his eyes to sleep away his weery mind of thoughts of what is and what could've been, there was a noise coming from the cellphone that Murmur payed no mind too.
"Murmur...are you hearing something?" mumbles Yuki sitting up.
"What was that noise just now?" wonders Murmur facing Yuki.
Yuki blankly stared at the screen, scanning the words that were always there, never changed and stopped on what was written about the Yuno he once loved.
"Yukiteru?" wonders Murmur.
"Hey...what is going on with my diary?" says Yuki confused.
"What do you mean?" wonders Murmur.
"Come to me and see for yourself." says Yuki dumbfounded.
Murmur did just that, catching a glimspe of the cellphone and gasped at the sight of the cellphone.
"How can there be something changing in the future now?" wonders Murmur.
"You reading this! It says Yuno is..." says Yuki gawking at the screen.
"Yuno is what? I'm lost by what the cellphone is changing it too." says Murmur.
"Murmur...use your eyes. It says 'Yuno-'"
Yuki was cut off by part of the void breaking, bringing in a bright light as if someone from heaven was coming to see him and heal his broken heart. Yuki shielded his eyes, staring up at the crack in his void and brightened up at the sight of cycle 3 Yuno happily staring down at the duo.
"Talk about crazy happenings. This is to good to be true yet our eyes can't be deceived." says Yuki happily.
"Yuki!" says cycle 3 Yuno happily diving into the void.
"You are Yuno right? There can be no other Yuno aside from the one in cycle 3..." says Yuki feeling Yuno's arms wrap around him in a tight embrace.
"Yuki! I'm so happy to be back by your side!" says cycle 3 Yuno letting go.
"Same to you Yuno!" says Yuki smiling.
"The hell is going on here?" wonders cycle 2 Murmur.
"I should be the one to say 'It feels great to see you in my sights!' By my side again and all." says Yuki chuckling quietly.
"Someone explain why cycle 3 Yuno is here! This does not make any sense! No mortal should be around a god!" says cycle 2 Murmur angrily.
"But how...?" wonders Yuki ignoring Murmur.
"We can talk about that later Yuki. Right now, we need to focus on that promise!" says cycle 3 Yuno.
"Promise? What promise was that again?" wonders Yuki.
"Remember? You promised we would go stargazing! And we can't do that without a earth." says cycle 3 Yuno happily.
"If I knew you were coming back to me, I would've created a world we could fit in." says Yuki taken aback.
"Surprise, surprise! We can create a new world together. This time, I think it would be much appreciated if we created a child that we can view Japan from the eyes of a certain child we can call our own despite living as part of a family he thinks is actually his." says cycle 3 Yuno winking.
"Are you hearing yourself Yuno?" wonders Yuki wide eyed.
"You are a god who appears to be a teenager and I am a teenager who lived as a gooddess, so, it's only fair we have a child have a mix of us that eventually becomes Aru Akise of the renewed earth." says cycle 3 Yuno.
Yuki's brain stopped working as he stared at the Yuno infront of him with desires he and his Yuno couldn't have.
"Only the Yuno you knew would love to have something like that. It would be awesome to live on a earth with you and a small family of our own." says cycle 3 Yuno.
"Uhhhh...yeah, ok. But how would it play out?" wonders Yuki.
"We'll worry about that after we create our new cycle 2 world." says Yuno.
"I should expect something like that to come from you." says Yuki chuckling amused.
"You and me watching over our paradise together until we know its safe to leave this place." whispers Yuno into Yuki's ear.
Yuki blushed madly nodding in agreement and while holding hands, went over to the orb that's supposed to show a renewed earth and went to work creating a new life between ghouls and humans with a black haired boy with taupe eyes as their eyes.
19 years later...
Renewed cycle 2 world;Tokyo Ghoul earth...
There was silence in the air as if time stood still. What was left of the CCG stared in stunned silence, everyone in awe or disbelief for what their eyes were seeing toward the ghoul they knew as eye patch. Ken Kaneki, known to Japan as the dreaded eye patch ghoul was shadow eyed with a quivering frown, carrying his long time best friend Hideyoshi Nagachika which looked more like dragging his feet across the paved road. Amon wasn't sure what to make of the sight of a ghoul feeling remorse for a human who went into battle against the cruel ghouls that the human population saw them as. What remained of the surviving ghouls and CCG were lost for words eyeing eye patch fall to his knees clutching Hide tightly to his chest.
"What is that wretched ghoul doing? What interest does he have in the rookie? Am I missing something here?" wonders Amon watching eye patch in disbelief.
As if on que, the moment Ken couldn't hold in his emotions, dark gray clouds filled the night sky showering everyone in rain as tears streamed down the teen ghoul's face. What the CCG workers slowly treading toward eye patch heard next blew their minds. The blubbering was barely audible but it sounded like Ken was as gloomy as he was angry with the outcome. Through blubbery mumbles was the dialogue of 'What is a world where humans and ghouls can't live amongst each other in peace? Creepy how monstrous humans are when they expect to never be in the wrong. I would've been happier if I could live both lives without bloodshed yet here we are...my stupid ass thinking keeping away from humans would benefit Hide and me yet such a good idea is wasted after finding out he's with the humans who murder ghouls regardless of how they go about their day, no questions asked. Goes the same for demonic ghouls but not all ghouls enjoy killing humans for nourishment! This lifestyle only forces more and more grief that's not needed so why...WHY!? Coffee does little good for ghouls who hate violence.'
"Eye patch get away from that boy. You've caused enough harm for us as it is. Step away and get out of our sight if you feel horrible for the teen." says Amon bitterly.
Ken just ignored everyone within range of him, only focusing on the soaking corpse pressed against him.
"Funny how shitty life works. You come into the world never knowing who ends up your cherished friend while being unsure of the family you were born into only to die in front of the being you are closest to. Shattering their whole world in one day...one brief moment that turns the tables on what species to trust. News flash to assholes everywhere, the helpless try to live their own lives with friends and loved ones, human or demon. Never doubting anything until their whole world crumbles." says Ken bitterly.
Ken set Hide on the ground and looked behind him with sad glaring eyes at the CCG nearing him. The workers flinched and stepped back a couple times seeing the hurt look in the ghoul's eyes.
"A just world where humans think everything they do is right while most ghouls and humans alike act like mad scientists to delve into the mind of the opposite species for demanded answers, even if its their own kind...this is utter bullshit. Torture and chaos is always around every corner, never waning no matter how much one begs. Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows if gloom and anger overshadow thoughts ensuring ones self everything would be peachy keen. I'm done. I can't even rewind time so I can keep him reassured and I could live my life while figuring out where it takes me." says Ken.
"What's gotten into you ghoul?" wonders Amon trying to make sense of the scene before him.
"A world where no peace is around is not a world I see myself living in." says Ken punching the ground a few times before pressing his head to the ground while pulling his arms over to his head in an attempt to cover his tear drenched face.
"Why is eye patch going from acting like a ghoul who fights to stay alive to a human who just got his heart stabbed? Aren't ghouls murderers who look innocent to the eyes?" thinks Amon staring without another word leaving his mouth.
After a few minutes of watching eye patch for any sudden urge for bloodlust and nothing of the such showing, he groaned and left eye patch where he could wallow in despair, uncertainty in his mind.
Without Ken noticing, his world faded to pitch black darkness shifting to the void where Murmur appeared displeased to not beable to see what would happen passed their observer's crying fit.
"Why did you have me drag him away from the world he's come to know as his?" wonders Murmur crossing his arms.
Ken could hear faint talk between three unknown voices close by, a girl's and boy's voices and another voice he wasn't sure of.
'Did anyone see you Murmur?'
'Thankfully, no-one was within sight. Though, those humans would've been ecstatic to attempt to kill me if they saw me appear on earth.'
'Yeah...our need for a peaceful world to live in backfired. The new beings of earth would rather tear apart each other then cooperate.'
"Why is there nothing here but us? What is this place and why-"
"Calm down. We will tell you everything after we greet each other." says Yuki smiling sadly at the albino ghoul.
"Huh?" wonders Ken unsure of what to expect.
"We have no intentions of making you weary. I understand looks could be deceiving. Looking at us, you'd think you were in a dream." says Yuki.
"I'm just confused by two humans living in an eternal hell with nothing or anyone around." says Ken shaky eyed.
"Yeah...this would still be my hell if Yuno hadn't appeared to me after 10,000 years." says Yuki.
"Wha..what?" wonders Ken staring with a weary blank stare.
"The pinkette sitting across from me. The previous world was as you can tell, earth since you are indeed looking at questionable humans. The pinkette, Yuno still looks like she did on earth when she lived there while I changed drastically. My actions made me who I am currently. Thanks to the previous god, the earth was a blood bath of future diary users to see who would end up the god of the next world, your world we watch over as we speak." says Yuki glancing at the orb that shows the new earth.
"If the previous earth was forcing humans to kill each other to get the new god how is she here?" wonders Ken pointing at Yuno.
"The previous god wanted one heir to the godly throne and had high expectations for Yuki back when he was an earthling. Thanks to Yunos help, they ended up being the remaining humans in a world that was breaking apart. The Yuno of cycle 1 traveled to cycle 2 to be with her beloved again, ended up with them alone once again like in cycle 1." says Murmur.
"Can you put it into simpler terms?" wonders Ken looking like he was freaking out.
"The Yuno of my new memories killed herself to save Yuki, in turn granting him godly powers before she could kill the Yuno you see here. I am from the 3rd cycle, a cycle where I never go to meet and fall in love with Yuki, that is if he existed in cycle 3. One night around midnight or so, I ended up in a god named Deus' realm and he let me see the person who was missing from my life. After taking a crystal with the original Yuno's memories, I finally knew who it was that was missing from cycle 3 my version of earth." says Yuno hugging Yuki.
"Uhh huh...huh? How does this revolve around me?" says Ken raising an eyebrow curiously.
Yuki and Yuno stared at each other blushing embarrassed before looking back at the baffled ghoul.
"Tell me truthfully. What you're saying isn't making sense." says Ken.
"Should you tell him or should I my beloved?" wonders Yuno with a comforting smile.
"Doesn't matter." says Yuki awkwardly.
"After this insecure cutie was back to his usual self, I helped him create a earth wherein lies ghouls and humans sharing the world while trying to make the best of things." says Yuno petting Yuki.
"And there's a catch revolving around my existence?" wonders Ken shadow eyed.
"Yes and no." says Yuki smiling awkwardly.
"Which is it?" wonders Ken grimly.
"You're gonna be pissed about the concept." says Yuki not bothering to push Yuno away.
"WHICH IS IT!? WHAT AM I!?" yells Ken both sad and angry, clenching his fists.
"Ok. Ok. Deep breaths. No way of killing us in here. Since we can't have kids in a dimension like this, we made an agreement and created an infant child with black hair like mine except with black eyes instead of royal blue, who would grow up in the renewed earth as part of a family. Weary of what was to come like myself while having my girlfriend\goddess' will to seek out a happier ending than ours was. Seems your search came to a halt when you had no choice but to enact a believable bout but it went to far and you killed him numbing your heart." says Yuki looking down.
"You controlled my life without my knowing." says Ken.
Yuki went silent trying to think of how to reply to the confused and grief stricken boy.
"You planned my life out before I realized what was happening." says Ken.
"...you can see it like that if it makes you feel that way. We knew we needed you to look like our friend Aru Akise but we never thought it would result like that. Never had we depicted that a ghoul would torture you to the point you had to give into your ghoul side and keep you from your normal life. The operation to make you part demon, we kinda thought was appropriate to a point. You deserved to live your life your way before we visited you one day and now you're treated more like a ghoul than a human. The only human who would understand you and what you chose...given the latter..." says Yuki regretting wanting the boy's presence.
"You forced yourself away from the boy thinking it was for the best. You caused your best friend to fear the worst while on a wild goose chase hoping you were happy wherever you ended up. Now you have 2 options-"
"Shut up...just shut up." says Ken crying again while holding his head.
"You're pretty much us in a nutshell. There's no denying it." says Yuno.
"I'm not a bloodthirsty killer! I had to adapt to my surroundings! Resulting in more burdens than I could count." says Ken not wanting to hear the duo.
"We know that. We would never question your decisions. We want you to live out your life in the way we couldn't. We aren't controlling how you go about things." says Yuki pulling Ken over to them for a group hug.
"If you hear us out, you can choose how you prefer things to go about once you're back on earth." says Yuno.
"What are the two options you guys have in mind?" wonders Ken looking at the duo.
"Option 1:we head to the current version of your earth but we would care for you like an actual child of ours looking older than we actually are and you can bury the boy you so desperately wanted to keep out of the war of species. Yuno will have to figure out how to get human meat for you. Option 2:we rewrite history so you can have the boy back in your life except you will have to live another life and keep away from the friends you came to know until you have your special happy ending leading to us coming to you." says Yuki reverting his eyes.
